Terrific experience. We used to go to the Allentown location all the time before it was closed. My son who has autism always enjoyed the food as did I but more importantly they always went out of there way to treat him well. We were in the area so we decided to try this location he was so excited when he saw the sign. The were fantastic to him and the food did not disappoint and the service (samantha was our waitress) was excellent. She seemed to recognize the situation and she seemed to go out of her way to treat him nicely. I was so bummed when our location in Allentown closed so this was a very nice treat!

Had a pretty bad experience overall. We've been here a few times before and don't remember anything really negative, but today was different. We had to wait 20 minutes just to speak to a hostess. They were completely missing. It was clear they were grossly mismanaged and understaffed. Once seated we were greeted by a pleasant server, but because of several factors service was extremely slow and lacking. Once we received our food the French toast was burnt, eggs were runny and bacon nearly completely uncooked. I sent back the bacon and they just microwaved it for 20 seconds. It was disgusting. The overall experience was so bad I'm not sure we'll ever return.

Reviewing for breakfast only ... this location of Bob Evans doesn't quite cut the sausage when it comes to the early eaters' entrees. This place is not impressive, especially compared to long-time area mainstays Cracker Barrel and even Perkins. Hell - I'd rather enjoy a Dunkin Donuts breakfast Sammy than eat here again. The first issue was the cleanliness. BE was half-empty when we were sat, yet the table was still filthy and without napkins and utensils. AND the apparently inattentive hostess seated us with two menus for four people. Mine got stuck in the oil slick left by the honey jar, so we were down to the last man standing as far as menus were to be. In fairness, the server fixed up everything as best she could. But what a lousy first impression, and tasteless food to follow. I had a simple western omelette and pancakes with a coffee, and I don't remember any of it. Now normally that's because I'm drunk-piss for this type of meal but not today. Today was breakfast with grandma and I'd just as well stayed at the church.

Food is consistent but today's experience was eye opening. It was just a bunch of teenage girls working there playing grab ass. The manager didn't care because the goofy looking creep was too busy enjoying the scenery. The place was dirty and we received bare minimum service. I guess you're only allowed one drink. Don't let your daughters work here!

A friend and I wanted to get breakfast (at 3 PM) before we went out for a short hike. Neither of us had ever been to a Bob Evans' before, and we figured we'd give it a go. The place was small but super clean. Our server was really friendly and helpful for us newbs looking through the rather large menu. We decided to skip breakfast altogether (though the choices did look great) and get the pick three dinner deal. I have to say, ALL of the food was really good. It was Perkin's prices but Cracker Barrel quality, as far as chains go. The biscuits were some of the best I've had in a while (and I was recently in Nashville), and the country fried steak was perfect... awesome after a less-than-delicious steak I had recently at Haystacks. I took my cookie to go, but it made for a fantastic after-hike snack. It was also HUGE. I definitely try to patron local restaurants over chains, but I have to say -- if you're in a pinch and need a delicious diner meal on the cheap, Bob Evans really has you covered.

This place is just ok. It's not great, not terrible. It's convenient, cheap, and a good place to go when you're looking for something simple. The only time I've seen it crowded is for breakfast on Sunday. Other that that, I've never had a wait.

My family and I went to this Bob Evan's location for breakfast today. This is not the first time we have been to this location. Service in the past has ranged from absolutely horrible (to the point where everyone working there apologized to us for our waitress) to pretty decent. The food has usually been good. Today - we were a party of 6 adults at peak breakfast time on a Sunday. When we got to the restaurant it didn't look good - the line was out to the door and there were people waiting on the benches. However, everyone was pretty much being seated right away as they got to the hostess. I was impressed that our party of 6 was also seated immediately. We were waited on promptly. Our drink order was taken. I was the only person to get a soft drink (diet Coke). Everyone else ordered either regular or decaf coffee. However, I was given regular coffee instead of soda. No biggie. When I politely brought this to our waitresses attention, she acted like I had offended or yelled at her. I don't think she liked being corrected. We all got our orders in a reasonable amount of time. The food was hot, looked good and tasted good. I believe everyone got what they ordered, except for a forgotten glass of milk for my brother. Half of us had a pancakes or French toast. They brought only one tiny "pitcher" of syrup for three people to share. The table across from us had two people with five little pitchers. They are pretty much a single serving. The waitress was also slow to check on what we needed throughout our visit and apparently didn't think soda should be refilled like they refill the coffee. When we got our check she had made a mistake on that. One of the five cups of coffee was priced at a carafe of coffee instead of one cup coffee. Fortunately, they were able to correct this small mistake at the register. Needless to say - not a stellar visit to this Bob Evan's. Not horrible - but annoying at times. We will probably go back because the restaurant is clean and the food is usually pretty good. But today they get only 3 stars for the mediocre service.

Like the previous review stated, the problem with this Bob Evans is the spotty service. Sometimes you have a great server, other times you wonder why this person is a server if they hate people. A refresher in customer service would help the chain out immensely. For example, the last time we went, my mom and I were laughing b/c we could hear the cook and our waitress arguing over why my mom's side of bacon wasn't ready at the same time as her french toast. As for the food, I enjoyed my knife and fork turkey sandwich, but was wise and got the gravy on the side. Do your heart a favor and skip dessert, they are all loaded in calories and saturated fat. I would advise checking out their website, b/c that's the only place to find the nutritional info. I enjoy the fact that breakfast is served all day, too.
