The best BBQ I've ever had. And I'm not from Waynesburg like the one reviewer suggested. Only drawback is a poor beer selection. Get the sampler basket. It's really quite good.

Waynesburg, PA...not a whole lot to choose from in terms of restaurants (which seems like an oxymoron given it's a college town), so when I looked up our options, this looked like a good place to check out. The booth we were in (along with others) were in need of being redone, but I was digging the building itself - built in 1905 according to one of the stained glass windows...onto the food... Our waiter recommended the BBQ Sampler & I was in - brisket, jumbo wings, spare ribs, baked beans & a side, which he also suggested the fresh chips. Done. My date went with the pulled pork sandwich & fries. The food came super fast & was ridiculously good - both of us loved the buffalo ranch sauce to dip the fries & chips in & the roll that came with my sampler (fried & doused in garlic butter & parmesan) was to die for as were the baked beans. Needless to say, I had a ton of leftovers - no complaints here - and we'll definitely be back!

The pulled pork and brisket were delicious! My favorite extra were the corn nuggets with peach jalapeño bbq sauce. The best part of our visit was the staff! They were super friendly and helpful! Well worth the hour plus drive for us!

Best restaurant in Waynesburg hands down! If you love wings, get the jumbo Jalapeño wings or if you are just hungry get the punisher... It's a lot of yummy food and you can't go wrong. The wait staff is friendly, curtious and lively.

Just had one of the best meals ever. Zucchini planks were perfect and "fluffy" On the outside, jalapeño onion rings were excellent, and the dipping sauces for perfectly. I had the brisket sandwich, my wife had the pulled pork. Word to the wise, a half sandwich is PLENTY of food if you are having apps also. My daughter had chili cheese dogs, which she ate right up and said were great. 3 dinners, 2 apps, and a couple Cocktails, the bill was under $50.00 before tip. Service was excellent, fast, and the server was the nicest I have had in a while, and always had a big smile on her face. The tables near us were eating different foods than us, and it all looked good. Overall, a VERY nice dinner, and if(probably WHEN) we comeback to Waynesburg, Hot Harry's will be at the top of our choices of places to eat!!!

So you're in Waynesburg, Yelper. Maybe you're here for Waynesburg's Rain Day (local holiday..it always rains on July 29th). Maybe you're checking out the Greene County Fair. Maybe you've taken the wrong turn off I 79 and are asking yourself where's Barney Fife? Or perhaps you're here for court, and if that happens to go South, you really wont need to read this review as the Jail has stock menu. Don't worry they will bring you three square meals a day. However, if you're free and feeling a bit hungry, Hot Rod's is one of the few dining options worth exploring in this blue collar town. Surprisingly, the BBQ is pretty good here, a succulent taste treat that is bound to hit the spot any day of the week. I opt for the Hot Rod, a pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw...yum. Although this isn't the best BBQ I have ever had, it is good enough to stand up to the big boys in most metropolitan areas. I'm certain that I would still give this spot 4 stars no matter where it was located,

Wow! Fantastic food. This was our first visit we had the wing and spare rib baskets. The dipping sauces are rediculous! We couldn't get enough of them there were so many great choices. This is definitely our new favorite local joint and we cant wait to come back for prime rib Friday!! Oh and the owner and his wife came over and took the time to say hello to us and that to me says a lot about a good business! Dont pass this place up. Sweet waitress too :)

Hot Rods is one of those places you walk out of every time thinking I'll never go back there again. Then, a month later you find yourself back in there, thinking the same thing. The food at Hot Rods is pretty good. I enjoy the "punisher", it really lives up to its reputation. Tastes great, but puts you into a food coma for 24-36 hours. Burgers are creative and worth a look. Salads are small, not recommended. It is the consistently poor service that really brings hot rods down. I have waited for my check for 45 mins before. Once you go in they have you trapped for a solid 2 hours. It isn't necessarily the waitresses fault either as they are stretched too thin. Usually 2 or 3 for the entire restaurant. Most people think hot rods is the greatest thing ever; however, those people never get out of Waynesburg. In the grand scheme of things hot rods is an average restaurant at best.

Note: I didn't visit the bar half of the restaurant. Pros: free parking across the street. Hostess is very cute & friendly. Plentiful seating in a large dining room (with no TVs!). Portions were a good size, and food was decent. Not the best I ever ate, but none of us had any real complaint about the food. The brisket was a bit dry. Cons: it's really warm in here - I hope it's just warm in here because the a/c is just broken, not like this all the time. The biggest con was the service wasn't great. Our server seems new. I can chalk all these items up to being new, and there are other servers here so YMMV. With ours: when asked about the menu item ingredients, she had to think, but she did get the answers correct. We weren't asked if we wanted refills on drinks, what sides we wanted with our dinner when we ordered, and she brought the check before we were done eating and without asking if we wanted desert. So we left without getting dessert; I don't even know if they have any.

I stopped in for a lunch since I was in the area for work. The menu is pretty impressive and it's clear that the BBQ is the thing to get. The waitress recommended the pulled pork sandwhich or a variation called "The Punisher" which included chicken tenders, cheese sauce and ranch to go along with the pulled pork. I tried the Punisher and it was pretty good, though I couldn't come close to eating the whole thing. I've got the rest stashed away as leftovers for when I might be hungry again in 3 days.

One of best BBQ I have ever had outside of the state of Texas. The pulled pork sandwich was tender and rich in flavor. Home style potato chips with dipping sauce was great too! The decor is not bad for a rural town in SWPA. I will definitely come back.
