Been here a few times. The service is friendly and informed. Brunch here had some good options and the food was good, though some of the dishes seemed to be priced high for the quality/quantity of food. Dishes show glimmers of creativity, though the chef should feel free to take greater risks.

I am a big fan of breakfast food, and love to try lots of different local places and different takes on the meal itself. While I love a diner/greasy spoon breakfast, I was so refreshed with how healthy and fresh breakfast tasted at the Silverspoon Cafe. They always have fantastic sounding omelets and fritattas with a variety of delicious ingredients. The location is just lovely, tucked away in the corner of the Eagle Village Shoppes (formerly known as Spread Eagle Village). In the Spring and Summer they even have outdoor seating on their porch. When I come here, I order at least one plate of the candied peppered bacon. We have even ordered two before!! You MUST try it!

Apple bread pudding is THE most amazing thing I've ever put in my mouth. That says a lot since I've eaten a lot of amazing food in NY. I'd give it 5 stars but the chocolate torte we got did NOT taste good. IT was too thick and too rich and it remained unfinished. Unfinished dessert is a nono. Inside was cute, staff was nice. I'd like to come back to try some of their actual meals :)

Enjoyed a wonderfully orchestrated dinner with a small group at this charming BYOB. Service was perfect -- attentive but not annoying. The appetizer - shrimp & risotto balls-- just crispy enough. Spinach Salad good but not a work of genius. The duck entree, however was fabulous. Cooked just perfectly and so flavorful. Thought I would not have room for dessert but when the apple tart was set down in front of me it magically disappeared. I will be back to try more yummies. With BYOB it is a reasonable night out.
I can't believe this place actually gets good reviews. The inside is kind of cute. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer, the veal, and the scallops. The calamari was okay- some pieces were extremely salty, others not. The veal was pretty good. The scallops were unbelievably under-seasoned. Being from Chicago, we expect restaurants charging $25-30 per plate to be exceptional- maybe we are spoiled. In all, we were extremely disappointed. We will not be back.

Great, unique food and wonderful service! I've now eaten there for lunch and dinner, and both times had stellar experiences. The bacon really is out of this world - hog heaven! And the duck fat fries are to die for...I'll be back!

Today I stopped by Silverspoon for brunch. I've been several times for lunch and dinner and really enjoyed both. But sadly I was a bit disappointed with their brunch. A lot of that had to do with the service. But there were also issues with the food. I had the Eggs Benedict with pancetta and smoky Hollandaise. The eggs were poached perfectly. I mean PERFECTLY; warm and runny yolks, firm, but not rubbery, whites. Substituting pancetta for Canadian bacon? Well I'll never want to go back to bacon. The problem? The Hollandaise. No flavor. None. No tangy finish, no heat, nothing. The diced french-fried potatoes on the side? No thanks. Too salty and too tiny, and thus difficult to eat. The muffin-ok, but nothing special. My better half had the Mediterranean chicken sandwich, good but not great. The flavors a little muted. As for service. We were led to a table in the corner, next to a table with two very large (think multiple seat-belt expander large) people at a tiny table for two. Why take us to a table were we'll feel cramped and will make these folks feel even more cramped, when there are so many open tables? We discretely asked for another table. Another party came in within minutes and were promptly led to that same cramped table in the corner! Our server rapidly rattled off the days specials and zipped away. The foibles continued throughout; plates not cleared, drinks left empty etc. I still really like the Silverspoon, but today was memorable in the wrong way.

One word: Excellent! Both food and service. Delicious mixed salad, beef shoulder, and strawberry-rhubarb cake. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

We ate at The Silverspoon for the first time this afternoon after adamantly stalking it on Yelp for the last few months. The reviews had always been high but we just never could quite find a reason or time to go until now. The food was pretty good. Not amazing but very fresh and cooked to order. I tried for the crab omelet only to find they were out of crab but could substitute in shrimp. This was an alright swap, the best part of the dish was really the potatoes anyway but it would have been nice to have the dish as originally intended. Other dishes at our table were also good- someone did eggs benedict and another had the BLT. We ordered cornbread as an appetizer, somehow this came out after our main dishes which was incredibly annoying. Also, keep in mind that the 'starters' are in fact not communal plates as one might think but instead single servings. So if you want a 4 dollar single slice of cornbread, be sure to order that one. It tasted delicious if you don't mind cutting it into slivers for the entire table to try The only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars is because of the service level. People were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant but they were just incredibly slow moving. For a restaurant with only 20 or so tables, if that, the staff just kind of sauntered around, casually brought things out, and had no real sense of urgency. It was just enough to annoy you but not enough to where you wouldn't go back. Overall, nice little restaurant hidden in the back of the shopping center with good, fresh food. Could just use a little bit more pep!

In a word, this place is fabulous. Fantastic, unique dishes priced just right. And the fact that it's a BYO is icing on the cake. The service is fabulous and the servers really know what they're talking about. I've been here twice now, once with my husband for date night and then with larger group for his mom's birthday. The food was fabulous both times. The only thing that some people may consider as a drawback is that it can be quite noisy since it's smaller place and typically packed. I wouldn't let that deter you from enjoying the great food and service for a really reasonable price. The tab for the two of us came to a mere $60 and we had ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, dessert and coffee. Definitely, a must visit for the foodies at heart.

I just had the Monte Cristo sandwich for lunch and it was hands down the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. JUST PHENOMENAL. The other 5 adults at our table had mostly omelettes and frittatas from the menu and they all said their meals were fantastic as well. Be sure to check out the truffle fries and their homemade potato chips. Great atmosphere with the doors/windows of the restaurant opened up and the service from our waitress, Emily, was right on par (even with a party of 8). The Silverspoon was very kid-friendly so we were able to keep the kids happy with simple sandwiches (ham and cheese and a grilled cheese) w/ some fresh fruit. Next time we are in town WE WILL BE BACK!!!

The decor is quaint - modern French country, and certainly full of the ladies who lunch crowd, as others have mentioned. The big deli case isn't adding anything, but I can live with that. The mushroom bisque is very good, and I make 3 kinds of my own mushroom soups, so I'm choosy! DH had the Monte Cristo, which was good, he said. The star was the grilled cheese, of all things. I wasn't being wowed by anything on the menu, so I opted to go with that. Oh my. The cheese was excellent, and the rich mushroom duxelle spread and some sort of fancy oil plus the greens (kale?) combined to make a decadent, savory grilled cheese. Quite outstanding. I assumed the greens were salad-style and if I had known they would be in the sandwich, I would have asked for them on the side. Don't do it! In the sandwich, they provided just the right amount of bite and bitter with the lush duxelle and sharp cheese. It was accompanied with a mornay sauce for dipping, and DH darn near licked the whole bowl clean after using it with the house-made potato chips!

Wait staff was super friendly and the food was reasonably priced for the exceptional quality- which are 2 things that are rarely found in one place on the Main Line. The "Duck Fries" special was amazing- come on! Duck- on fries- with crumbled blue cheese?? Brilliant. I had the mushroom risotto (amazingly good) and my brother got the spinach/mushroom omelette which he enjoyed, however, when he was marginally disappointed that his "side salad" was so small on his plate the waitress brought out another small plate with more of it for him with no thought of it. We shared the cherry cheesecake- the cheesecake was more "homemade" tasting while the cherry topping seemed a little commercial. Will definitely revisit to try the other tempting dishes on the menu.

This restaurant was difficult to find, despite knowing that fact going in. The atmosphere was very nice. It had a European village feel to it, which made it great for a romantic date. The food was fancy and quite good. Don't forget to bring your own wine!

I have only had a few things here on my handful of visits. Why? Because they're so so good. Firstly, get a bowl of their trademark mushroom soup. It's ethereal. Next, order the BLT...it's buttery and the bacon is crazy good. I can't say more than that - service is decent, atmosphere is comfortable (though the tables are too short for the height your chair puts you at). Definitely a good place to eat on the Main Line.

Fabulous for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Creative dishes, attentive service - a special mid week price fixed menu. I have taken clients there for lunch and family and friends for dinner and breakfast. Every meal has been top notch. Can't get the flour less chocolate torte out of my head!

I wasn't that hungry today but we wanted to grab a bite on our way to the dealer, so we decided to meet here for a healthy and light late lunch. I decided on a cup of the mushroom bisque accompanied by a croissant, which was surprisingly filling and very savory. The bisque was delicious: creamy and savory with a hint of fennel and perhaps truffle (I think?). Anyhow, whatever the exact flavors were, they meshed well and made for a very good soup. The croissant was buttery and flaky, although it wasn't amazing; The Little Chef in Princeton still holds the crown for best croissants. They do bake them on the premises here every day and you can definitely taste the difference, though (not a fan of mass-produced supermarket croissants). It also comes with a side of pecan butter, which was quite possibly the most delectable spread ever. It was a nice change from the typical cinnamon butter and just so creamy with a perfect balance of pecan and the butter's inherent flavor. It almost made me want to get another croissant just so I could finish it. But then I would have been brought more butter and gluttony would have taken over. So I desisted...with much restraint on my part. Dad's BLT with pepper turkey bacon and aadditional semi-spicy fried egg was great and makes me want to add a fried egg to every BLT from now on; it's absolute ingenuity. My friend's shrimp salad on croissant was creamy and fresh, but it's not my favorite because I'm not a huge fan of raw celery; your mileage may vary, though. And of course, we split the truffle fries because you can't come here and not get an order. It would be the equivalent of going to Five Guys and getting a plain "veggie" burger (if you're not vegetarian, that is). Service was superb, as always, and our food was served quickly.

Came here for brunch with my cousin and his fiancee this past Saturday. My main criteria was something in the Main Line and had outdoor seating options. Upon arriving at 1 pm, there were only 3 other tables occupied, so we pretty much had our pick. I opted for one near the open doors, but not quite outside (allergies were staring to kick in for me). We all opted for the BLT, though cousin and his fiancee added turkey to theirs. We ordered truffle fries as well. I added a matzo ball soup to my meal. The soup itself was sort of bland. I wish there was a tad bit more salt and flavor to it. The BLTs were delicious. The bacon was perfectly crunchy, there was the right amount of mayo, and the lettuce & tomato tasted fresh. The truffle fries were delicious!!! The thinly shredded Parmesan cheese on top was perfect! I practically licked that bowl clean! Prices were pretty decent. The BLT ran about $7, truffle fries were $6. Service was friendly, but not over the top. The space itself was really cute, airy, and warm too. It's in the Eagle Village Shops. Turn into the shopping center when you see George's and hang towards the right. It's set back a bit, so you won't see it from the street.

Went here for dinner and had a very nice experience. Our server was Luke. It was a Tuesday evening and I was a little surprised that only 3 tables were occupied. Really rather sad. This restaurant is located in Spread Eagle Village in the back. So it is a little off the beaten path. I actually prefer Silver Spoon to George's restaurant which is right on Lancaster Avenue. SO PAY ATTENTION! In my humble opinion. Went with 4 people so I will try to discuss each item we had. Started out with an amuse (don't know the term for it) Lobster with a bit of stuffed cabbage. These were tiny bits and very delicious, but a bit salty. I liked them very much. I wanted to try as much as possible so had the braised lamb spare ribs with citrus fennel slaw. Got 3 ribs with an unusual sauce very tasty, the ribs were a little fatty, but this was lamb and the citrus salad had mandarin oranges which really was tasty. The mushroom soup was a little disappointing, I was surprised. I liked the texture, and you could taste the mushroom flavor but it did lack.....................something. Hmmmm. I asked what the anson mill grits were and asked if I could have a side dish of them. Thye said sure and I very much liked these. They had slices of bacon which added a sweet flavor. That was my dinner. The brined pork chop came with the anson mill grits, cabbage and apples. This was a large portion, half of which got taken home. DELICIOUS. Very moist and tender. Next time I'm ordering this. My husband had the gnocchi. Oh so good. It comes with baby shrimp and sun dried tomatoes. This was yum. But a small portion. I had to have some on my bread plate. But hey I shared my spare ribs with him. So it's only fair. Last dish was the linguini. Sigh, it was a disappointment. it was okay, but I would not want to to see it again. Sorry. It was also a small portion. Why go to the restaurant for this. We had the chocolate tort for dessert. Hey it was chocolate. I was surprised that the other dessert did not sound appealing. I liked it, but husband said he preferred my pound cake or apple streusel cake. Wow, he was gonna give up chocolate? It was okay. But all in all the food was good. A little on the expensive side I have to say. The ambiance was pleasant and the owners came over to say hello. Yes I will return.

Silverspoon is a cute little cafe nestled in the heart of Wayne. Great ambiance and absolutely amazing food are only boosted by the incredible hospitality of owners Rich and Ruth Silverberg. The Silverbergs who have lived on the Main Line for most of their lives opened up this cute and cozy little eatery in 2005 and I have to say they make the best soup and sandwiches. They do cater and as you would expect the food is out of this world amazing! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone who wants a good hearty meal to keep them on track during the day. The cafe has Wifi which is available during off-peak times. If you go for lunch the place is hopping. But don't be discouraged by the wait it's well worth it! A must for any food lover!

My husband and I tried Silverspoon during Mainline Restaurant Week and thought it was excellent, once we could find it. Our GPS took us to the wrong address, and we were driving around for 10 minutes trying to find it. We finally called them and once we got there realized it was in the same center as Georges, except it's way in the back so you'd NEVER see it from Lancaster Ave. We ate there too long ago for me to remember what we ordered, but it was surprisingly delicious. In fact, it was one of the best meals we had had in Wayne. The problem is that it feels old, in more ways than one. We are 39, and we were probably the youngest people there by a good 15 years. And the decor was too Florida for me. In fact, it's funny that the name is Silverspoon because there is a Silverspoon Restaurant in Florida that I go to with my kids. I don't think the name and decor do the restaurant justice, because it's actually really good food.

If I could give Silverspoon 10 stars I would! This place is so refreshing. I've never felt that a chef has put so much effort and care into my meal before. I've been here for dinner (amazing), but they really shine in the brunch department. The crab benedict is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. They put a little dollop of guacamole on top, along with some roasted red peppers that really sets the whole dish off. All of the flavors mix together and create such harmony in my mouth! Another favorite is the duck hash which my husband absolutely loves. You really can't go wrong here.

Perfect local lunch spot. The price was just right for the quality of the food (which was excellent by the way), and the service was friendly and always there to fill up your drink. The atmosphere was nice, albeit we were the only two males there for lunch. The place is decorated pleasantly and the one wall open to their small outside tables really opened the place for a fresh atmosphere. I don't think you will regret coming here. Only warning is some of the addresses out their on the internet for this place has it at its old location near the Wayne movie theatre, when in fact its in the Eaglesville shopping next to the Valley Forge Flower Shop. You have been warned.

Met a friend for lunch. Mushroom soup was delicious. We shared the BLT and shrimp salad on croissant. Both were great, but the BLT to die for. I will be back for more of those! Service was perfect. Attentive, but not hovering and respectful of our time to eat and visit. a pleasant experience.

This place is the best kept secret. I highly recommend this place. From start to finish the food was excellent. They are a farm to table restaurant. The decor is nice, the staff were friendly and accommodating. This will definitely be a place I will be returning to soon. They are hidden behind the more well known Georges restaurant on route 30 and I think this is a much better place.
My boyfriend and I found this restaurant for our date night and went there based on the reviews from yelp. It is a very small, nice restaurant located in a really nice spot. The waiting area is small, but we made reservations and only waited about 10 minutes when we got there. The food was excellent! The boar sausage was great but what the waiter didn't tell us was - it takes about 25 minutes to cook. Clearly the chef takes time to make every entree and appetizer to his best ability. Why did I give this 3 stars then? THE SERVICE! It seemed like our table was the only one being neglected in the whole restaurant. We had planned 2 hours to go to dinner in order to make it to the movie we previously bought tickets for. It's a good thing we had 2 hours! We sat down with our BYOB wine and had an entire glass before our waiter even came over to greet us. Then it took another half hour for our appetizer to come out. In total=it took an hour since we sat down to even get water or food on our table. The table next to us sat down after us, got their food and appetizer before us! We brought this up to the manager TWICE and they were very nice about it and had our food out ASAP. They gave us the appetizer for free (it was $15.00) so we did appreciate that. We were very disappointed with the service though and ultimately ended up going to the movies and there was not a seat in the house left so we couldn't see the movie. Had the service been good, we could've made the movie.

Loved our brunch. Up from Washington, DC for the day. Best eggs (w/lox on the side). The whole grain toast was excellent, as was the fruit. We sat outside on the patio, which was breezy and partially shaded. Service was very good, too. Excellent restaurant. Just lovely. (Stepped inside -- too loud). Worth the price.

This place is a gem. The menu is fresh and frequently updated in order to capitalize on seasonally available items. You can tell when a dish is crafted and not simply dumped on a plate. I would bet you they don't have a microwave or freezer in the kitchen. The world tour menu on Wednesday is awesome and new every week.

I'm working this week at the flower shop next door to this place, and decided to have lunch here. Even though it's a bit pricey, the menu looked pretty good (it's posted outside). I had the Silverberger (they spell it that way, not me) and the Truffle Fries, and both were fantastic. The fries required nothing, just eat them as they are. The only reason I'm only going 4 stars is because of the rareness of the burger. I asked for medium rare, and it was frankly just about beyond rare. As if they pulled it out of the fridge, made a patty, and threw it on the grill long enough for it to make contact, then threw it on the bun. I don't mind rare. I've had enough tartar in my life to not be squeamish. I order my steaks and prime rib rare all the time. I didn't send it back though. After the first few bites, it tasted great, and I just went with it. So, fair warning. If you order it medium rare, I'd cut it in half first and see what you think. Some people freak over rare meat of any kind.

I've enjoyed every meal I've had at the silverspoon! The quality of food and the service is absolutely wonderful. The chef even came out to greet us and was warm and friendly, really makes you want to go back. Every time that I've been in they have new items on the menu. You can tour the culinary world without leaving PA! I recommend the silverspoon (and their truffle fries) to EVERYONE!

Came here for brunch with hubby and friend from out of town. Atmosphere is comfortable and clean and I really liked how their doors opened onto the patio. The wait for food was a little longer than I liked but was worth it. The French toast was delicious and was almost like a dessert. Hubby enjoyed the Bacon eggs Benedict with amazing home fries. Our friend had the scramble of the day which was good and came with a sizable portion of fresh salad. Good place to relax and enjoy good food. Servers were very nice.

My family and I really enjoy this restaurant. It's tucked away in Spread Eagle Village and offers fresh, seasonal, and high-quality food. Every Wednesday, there is a "world tour" menu offered alongside the regular dinner menu. $35 for 4 courses is quite the bargain and a great way to try unique dishes -- and we have never been disappointed! And - your fifth tour is free! We have had several different duck dishes which have all been great. Another memorable dish was an apricot bread pudding.

Just ate here for Sunday brunch a few weekends ago! They have a little space outside to sit, which was perfect, especially since there was a nice breeze, and the parking lot its located in is cool to look around... anyway: We had the Kennet Square mushroom omelette, the Salmon Salad sandwich with house made potato chips and the peach and vanilla french toast! The omelette was really good and I loved the breakfast potatoes, they were the perfect amount of crunchy. :) The house made potato chips were also good, and the french toast was amazing! The vanilla sauce tasted like ice cream and the peaches were really sweet and a nice texture. The iced coffee was a little weak, but maybe it just had too much ice. I was looking at the dinner pictures, and I can't wait to come back sometime for dinner!

The ambiance is very relaxing and romantic at The Silverspoon. The food was also very good! I enjoyed the panzanella salad, kennet square mushroom bisque and lancaster county chicken over fettucini. Unfortunately, unlike most other reviewers, our service left much to be desired. After we were seated and given our menus, it was about 15 minutes before the waiter came back to our table and when he did, he only asked if we had any questions. We said "no" that we were ready to order and he seemed surprised by that. My boyfriend and I go out to eat quite often and we know to expect slightly slower service on a Friday evening but it seemed as though 1) our waiter felt no sense urgency and 2) the restaurant was understaffed, which happens, but the two people I presumed to be owners/managers were often just standing behind the hostess area when, in my opinion, should have been jumping in to help. Bottom line: Would I recommend going? Yes. BUT I would also recommend the owners/managers pay a bit more attention to detail as customer service is what brings people back and I won't be in a rush to receive mediocre service at main line prices.

Brunch at The Silverspoon was delicious!! We went to celebrate a day of dress shopping for a friend who is getting married and each of us girlies loved our dishes. We also loved the fact that it is a BYOB - Mimosas all Morning!! I had the Dippy Eggs Fondue - two fried eggs, mushroom, sundried tomato, truffled mornay, white toast - it was delicious! Decadent, but not overwhelmingly so. I wish there were more mushrooms, but that's just my personal preference. Oh, we also split the peppered bacon- delicious! It was a bit sweet with a touch of heat and carmely. I highly recommend it or any dish with it in it.

It's cozy sitting outside and it is located at a nice plaza. They have very limited menu. I ordered the farm omelette and it's just fine, but the coffee was really good, somehow it had some kind of flower flavor to it.

There's a dearth of great brunch options around here, so thank goodness this wonderful little gem exists. Plus, get this -- they serve brunch on the daily! The Silverspoon is one of my favorite lunch-brunch spots on the Main Line, and for good reason. Their menu is small but they do everything superbly well, the atmosphere is cozy with a touch of quaint class, the coffee is delicious, the signature candied bacon is unbelievable, and the service is on point. Silverspoon's American menu is classic, yet inspired and refined, and there is something special here for everyone. I will probably never come here and not begin with the truffle fries and aioli, which are to die for, and regardless of the time of day, I'll always want their coffee (which, as someone else mentioned, has a hint of floral). Anything with bacon is by default delicious, as they candy theirs with brown sugar and add a little kick of pepper, so it strikes the perfect balance between sweet, smoky, and spicy. They know how to cook eggs here, which seems to be a challenge for many spots, believe it or not. From waterlogged poached eggs that are either underdone or overdone, to overcooked scrambled eggs and burnt omelettes, I've experienced my share of egg mishaps. The bulk of their brunch focuses on egg-based dishes. The omelettes and frittatas have been fluffy, generously filled, and well-seasoned and the "dippy eggs fondue" with mornay sauce has a special place in my brunch-fiending heart. But the french toast? It's kind of ridiculous in how fluffy, thick, and delicious it is. I highly recommend you go the chocolate ganache route but if you go at the right time of year, opt for the pumpkin caramel. For lunch, I usually stick to soups and sandwiches here (and, um, truffle fries). The BLT, stuffed with candied bacon and aioli, is one of the most epic BLTs I've ever had, period. Still, I'm most likely to stick with their brunch options, because brunch is my favorite meal in life, and theirs is the brunch of champions. If you want to go somewhere that serves remarkable classics in a welcoming, homey setting, you appreciate amazing brunch, you're a bacon enthusiast, and you're cool with dropping a bit more dosh, then go here, because it's amazing.

Silverspoon is a quirky brunch restaurant.it must be very popular since place was crowded. The food was good but not necessarily fantastic this time. The caramelized bacon was overdone and there was too much sugar on the fresh cooked donuts. I know that sounds like nitpicking, but I wanted to really love it and this time is was just ok. Will try again, but I hope they put the grilled cheese with mushrooms and truffle cheese dipping sauce back on the menu and their smoke salmon BLT was missing as well...

Excellent dinner and service as always. The weather was perfect for eating outside. I especially enjoyed the desert sampler which was a rainbow sherbert made from lime sorbet, peach ice cream and raspberry ice cream, a creme cheese whip with blueberries (my favorite), and a black raspberry float. Such a relaxing evening!

Went for brunch... Good food, great coffee, OUTSTANDING service. Our waiter was always there to offer suggestions, fill our coffee, or bring us anything else we needed... Most of the time without even having to ask. The breakfast potatoes are to die for... If you go for brunch you must try them!

Got suddenly hungry and decided to come in for brunch with a friend. We had the BLT and brie. We also had duck hash. The duck egg was awesome, very fresh and delicious. The best I've had in a while. Their menu is not that big but it is pretty neat. It has new items I've never heard of. The staff is super friendly and makes sure that our coffee is always full. Service and food was great. I think it will help if they add more items to their menu.

Decided to give this place a try with a coworker for a mid-point review I was giving her. We had reservations for noon, but the place wasn't overly crowded. I'm glad it wasn't, because given the openness of the place, it could have been pretty loud in there if it was packed, likely making it less ideal for a meeting. Our waiter was very good throughout our lunch--no complaints here! My coworker went with the French stuffed toast and a side of their caramelized bacon. Both were delicious (I was fortunate she let me try both)! I was having a hard time deciding between the "Everything" stuffed French Toast and the chicken salad sandwich, but decided to go with the chicken salad and a side of truffle fries. Would definitely get this meal again, but will likely try the French toast next time! For dessert, I went with the pecan caramel tart while she went with the bread pudding. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed my dessert and my coworker said hers was excellent as well. The only real complaint was the temperature of the restaurant, which was definitely on the warm side. I actually felt my shirt starting to stick to my back. To be fair though, it was 95+ degrees outside and evidently their AC unit just couldn't keep up. Prices are also on the high side with our lunch for two coming in at $55 before tip. Thankfully, it was a business expense! All in all, we both really enjoyed our meal here and I wouldn't hesitate to come back (as long as the company was footing the bill)!

My boyfriend and I came in for lunch on NYE 2013. At around 1:00pm, the dining room was energized with patrons. Two servers commanding the room were effortlessly touching tables and running food. We were greeted and seated right away. Service - 5 out of 5 My boyfriend and I are in the restaurant industry and are admittedly very critical about service. We were very impressed. My water never went below half-full and my dining companion's iced tea was also frequently topped. Though the restaurant was packed, our waiter was always present when needed. Everything was coursed properly. We always had the appropriate utensils. Our waiter's attention to detail and professionalism was par excellence. Baby Arugula Salad (Honey Roasted Pear, Keswick Farms Blue Cheese, Pancetta, Candied Walnuts, & Herb Vinaigrette) - 5 out of 5 One of the best salads I've had in recent memory. Very balanced flavors - sweet pears, peppery arugula, strong and pungent blue cheese all worked together beautifully. The pristine walnuts added a needed crunch. I liked how they weren't overly candied--an easy mistake to make. I would return just for this salad. Cassoulet (White Bean Stew, Duck Confit, Bacon, Pork Garlic Sausage, Two Fried Eggs) - 4 out of 5 This dish is the epitome of comfort food. It's simultaneously progressive, rustic, and nostalgic. The thick stew was punctuated with white beans, and richness from the bacon rendered this brimming with warmth and flavor. The viscous yolks added a buttery quality that complemented the sausage and tender duck confit. Harvest Season Omelette (Roasted Squash, Parsnip, Brussels Sprouts, Goat Cheese, House Potato) - 2 out of 5 The autumnal squash, Brussels sprouts, and parsnip were the selling point for me. What upsets me about this dish, and the frittata I sampled in a previous visit, was that the ingredients were sparse and diced into minuscule crumbs. This is not what I expect from a farm-to-table restaurant focused on showcasing the beauty and integrity of local produce. The omelette was overcooked. I expected a delicate light, fluffy egg omelette and was disheartened at the sight of the over-zealously cooked brown, rubbery, oleaginous pancake. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very nicely seasoned, although a bit greasy as well. Overall - 5 out of 5 Silverspoon is perhaps Wayne's best all-day spot. Its brunch is refined, and pinkies out can be seen lunching into the late afternoon sipping tea at 3. I am looking forward to returning for dinner in the near future.

Great oasis spot in the midst of heat and summer. They open up one side of the restaurant to the patio dining area. I was craving for salad so drove here en route to phl and was not disappointed. The mushroom bisque was flavorful with great aroma from truffle crouton (who could say no to truffled anything and mushroom?) The mixed greens was solid, lacking in taste from the greens so may want to add a touch of salt. The pickled red onion in the salad was a nice touch to add a bit more flavor. This salad has a lot of sprouts if you are a fan.

If you've ever been looking to use the words "Luxurious" and "Lunch" in the same sentence then you've come to the right place! The silver spoon serves up delicious food but it comes with an equally impressive price tag! I ordered a chicken salad sand which which features pulled chicken, loads of mayo, apples and cranberries - truly delicious. My friends both ordered the Kennett Square mushroom omelets which were more mushroom than egg! Their house made ice tea was sweet and their coffee was flavorful I enjoyed a perfectly poured cappuccino! Overall it's a bit expensive for every day lunch but the service and quality of food would bring me back for a special occasion!

I can sum the whole experience in one word. Delicious. This is a very high end restaurant with top quality food and service. I very much enjoyed the whole time that I was here. I had been here before and so knew what to expect and what not to order. But this time it blew all of my expectations. I had the lamb terrine and it was delicious. The one thing I'd ask them to do is to try and avoid the overselling. They seem to be trying to hard to be a top-end restaurant when in fact it's actually easy for them if they simply keep up with the quality and service. Enjoyed it!

Went on a Thursday evening last week. Ate outside. Had reservations but didn't need them quite attractive. Very nice looking menu. No water nor bread offered. Asked for bread and nice bread brought. No butter or oil. We shared a fried corn fritter appetizer. Both it and the dipping sauce were very good. My wife had salmon and I ordered Halibut. Both came on some very tiny risotto and a couple of beans. Neither had much flavor. We were but skipped dessert. Because the prices are so very high, I cannot recommend this place. Sparse table setting, bland seafood and center city prices. It is not like George's which was next door.

Dinner for four on the patio. Convenient wine store not far away. Four is a problem on the patio since the tables are comfortable only for two. So the staff put 2 together, awkwardly. No matter, onion dip and homemade chips very good. Wine got opened eventually and wine bucket and ice arrived after only 2 requests. Soup very good. Goat cheese salad included two small pieces of cheese. Rolls, once they arrived, very good. Trout ok, approximately the size of 6 pieces of tuna atop rice from Whole Foods sushi bar. Taste sadly not reminiscent of fish. Rest of party had salads. Not many compliments. Service spotty. No herbal tea (is this really the Main Line??). Decaf excellent.

Positively mediocre meal. Nice waitress, but that doesn't account for what is on the plate. Over $25 for three lamb meatballs? My daughter wanted steak, and none on the menu? I had the chicken, it was a mish-mash of too many ingredients on top of a sloppy wet polenta. None of us were impressed. Seems like they're trying too hard to be a "fancy" restaurant. Skip this one, we'll keep looking for a nice place near our daughter's school when we come visit.

Very disappointed. I don't understand the rave reviews. I guess this place is great for people with bland palates? We started with the truffle fries and the mushroom soup. The truffle fries were good, as was the coffee. The rest was an utter failure. The mushroom soup was bland and served cold. A huge no-no. The French toast served with chocolate ganache was ok but the sea salt was notable absent and the bread itself was so thickly sliced and crusty it was hard to cut. It should have soaked in the batter longer; something my husband noted with his plain French toast, which didn't have much flavor. I had the spinach omelette (oily and flavorless) served with sweet potatoes (meh). Even the water had an off flavor. The service was friendly but amateurish. Go to Sabrina's.

This restaurant is by Joe's workplace so since I was visiting for the day, I wanted to eat somewhere with good reviews online. When I read the menu for this place, I was pleased. I talked Joe into getting the tasting menu, it seemed like a great value. 6 courses for $50! And usually with a tasting menu, the chef likes to show off. right? wrong! The last tasting menu we did was at Vetri in Philly, and that placed amazed us while this place just left us disappointed and hungry. The service was nice at least. As soon as we sat down, they opened our bottle of wine right away (oh yea, it's a BYO). And our waiter brought out an amuse bouche, which was chopped up scallop served on a slice of cucumber........It tasted like a piece of spam....This bite is supposed to awaken my palette and prepare me for the rest of the meal......... The 1st course was a slowly cooked salmon with radishes and bits of rye bread tossed in truffle oil. This was definitely the highpoint of the night. the salmon was cooked perfectly! Very moist and juicy. I wish I had ordered an entree size of this dish! The 2nd course was lamb ribs with a raita sauce. The lamb ribs didn't have any Indian spices so I was confused as to the pairing with the yogurt based Indian sauce. I wish the ribs had more meat on them.It was cooked in some sort of orange juice. The salad course consisted of some spicy arugula, blue cheese, poached pears and crispy pancetta. I did enjoy the salad, but there was no "wow!" factor! One of the reasons why I love eating out is to be wow-ed by chefs. I was super disappointed with this dish. At the beginning of our meal, I had informed the server that I was opposed to the rabbit and veal dishes on the menu, but everything else (pasta, beef shoulder, salmon, etc) I was fine with. The server brings out our 4th course which was beef heart! and the blackberry compote looked like drops of bright red blood which was just unappealing. I decided to give it a shot and I took a bite and it was cold! like sitting in the fridge cold! I just couldn't bring myself to finish the dish. The server said that he had eaten it for dinner that evening and liked it........Usually staff dinners aren't as special as what the patrons are eating. Also, offal tends to be cheaper meats because not everyone wants to eat internal organs. I was quite disappointed that out of everything the chef could have done for our main entree, he chose offal. What really bothered was what happened next! So the waiter had seen that I barely touched the 4th course and he didn't offer to ask the chef to bring out something different for me to eat. I was going to bring it up but Joe just wanted to leave since he was disappointed too. Our 5th course was a blue cheese pop, essentially a corn muffin stuffed with blue cheese with a random persimmon on the side. It was good, nothing special. I couldn't believe that I had finished the 5th course and I was still hungry. I was going to complain to our server but he kept avoiding us until the check. I was seriously pissed off by this. Don't be so scared to receive negative criticism! For our final course, we had ginger spiced donuts with a white orange curd. Donuts? really? nothing special again. Where is that wow factor? Also, I was really disappointed that the chef chose to revisit the orange flavor when he had already cooked the lamb ribs in orange. He had a chance to show us his talents and he gives us mini donuts........I could make those at home! I doubt I will return to this establishment, but if I do, I will probably just order off the menu.......

We came to the Silverspoon for brunch with out of town friends on a sunny Sunday. We liked the setup of the restaurant - our table had ample room for us and our bags and wasn't crowded. The woman who sat us was pleasant enough, and our waitress, though quiet, was helpful for the most part. It sometimes took a while to get our drinks refilled, but the restaurant isn't big, so the server and busperson couldn't go far. The food was tasty, but not memorable for me. I had an omelette with veggies and cheese and found it to be small and a bit too runny. To balance that out, my boyfriend was enamored with his stuffed French toast, which was covered in an egg, granola and syrup, filled with cream cheese concoction. Definitely the better choice. We had a nice enough brunch here, and if it was convenient to go back again, I would. Just won't find myself going out of the way for it.

Walked over to the Silverspoon the other night for low-key Saturday dinner. The weather was great so we opted for the outdoor seating which is very nice. I started out with the mushroom soup, and that was great. My entree was homemade spinach gnocchi with shrimp, and that was excellent. The pasta was very fresh, and the shrimp were large and had a lot of flavor. For dessert, my blueberry bread pudding was great, but my wife's pecan dessert was ok but nothing to write home about. The service was pretty good, and the outdoor ambiance was nice despite being close to the parking lot. I'm looking forward to dropping in for lunch and breakfast soon.

On Sunday at lunch time the only option was brunch.. not apparent when making a reservation on OpenTable. The food was passable but not memorable. We did enjoy the mushroom soup that many other reviewers raved about, but not much else.

The food was excellent. The service was friendly. Atmosphere was clean, bright and pleasant. Would have given it 4 or 5 stars but... no form of BREAD (breadstick, crackers...?). Extra charge or not- no option to get bread- even a bread stick- something. When we requested bread we were told there was an issue w/the bread not being delivered? Sh.. happens and we all get that but that is when you go to plan b or c. Having been in the restaurant business for 20 years I know someone: owner, manager... would have gone or been sent to some store: farmers market nearby or grocery store- anything to get what was available. Most likely not the quality they would serve but that is when you eat the cost and give it out for free and or share w/customers " We apologize but did not get our normal bread delivery would you like what we do havve or ...." whatever you have be honest and tell customers, it seems, is better than no bread option. Most people appreciate the honesty and effort.

Brunch disappointed me, but this is a one-star review because of a food safety issue: temperature control. Once food has reached its proper cook temperature, you either cool it rapidly to under 40 degrees or you keep it above 135 degrees. You do NOT let it go back down between 40 and 135 or you risk bacteria forming. This is why heat lamps and soup warmers were invented. Well, in this case, the mushroom bisque (which people love, apparently) came out lukewarm. I didn't know it right away because my wife got it, and I didn't taste it. As soon as I had, I asked her if it had come out that temperature, and she said yes. This is a very serious health threat. If the soups are just sitting on a stovetop without the burners on (or something), people are going to catch salmonella sooner or later. This is NOT a matter of sending it back to be warmed up, because that won't kill the bacteria. And the fact that the soup came out like that means that the line cooks, the expediters, the servers, and the managers are all either unaware or indifferent. Oh, and also, the bisque was bland, the french toast hadn't been allowed to absorb enough of the batter and the sea salt appeared in only one bite, and my wife's spinach omlette was amateurishly made. Service was college freshman. Oh, and it was $30 per head for brunch including tip. I guess it's good for them that rich main line people are stupid. On the other hand, the truffle fries were orgasmic, the coffee was very good, and the bacon portion was absurd. Their fryer and coffee machine work.

This was my review last year...."A very nice find! Food was fresh and well prepared. Wonderfully simple, yet elegant atmosphere. Service friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends" My previous rating was 4 stars....oh what a difference a year makes... It appears that this place has developed a following and the once ambitious owners have grown tired of engaging new (forgotten) patrons. If you're a regular, you get special attention. If, like me, you are returning after a year long absence and are forgotten, you get a table by the drafty door (despite other tables being available...I discovered they're reserved for friends), a highly unskilled waitress (eagerly trying) and a serving of brisket that was not in the least bit trimmed nor suitable for serving. Did I complain, no...it was the anniversary celebration...

I have heard of this place for a long time but never had a time to visit. Finally, I had a lunch there and I wonder why I didn't go! The service is very nice and the food was amazing. Please try mushroom soup! I am not sure about the truffle fries, but I am very very satisfied that I get a chance Silverspoon!

Excellent food, very friendly staff. Was in the area and used yelp to find a place to eat. Couldn't have been more pleased. Both my girlfriend and I had silverburgers. We both agreed that these were the best burgers either of us had had in ages. I would not hesitate to return should I find myself in the area again.

Went here for lunch while looking at some houses in the area. The brunch menu was straight forward, we had a grilled cheese and chicken salad sandwich with some fries. With tip we spent $50, pretty expensive grilled cheese and chicken salad. Looking back you could better spend $50 to feed yourself, highway robbery. Plenty places in the area for food, I would stay away this place must have some expensive rent to be charging $15 for a grilled cheese.

The word "silverspoon" connotes privilege, good taste, and refinement. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards its antonym...."neanderthal", which suggests hairy, bone-gnawing uncouthness with a healthy side of beer swilling and belching. Nonetheless, once in awhile I put on the guise of the upper crust and attempt to wax eloquent on wine, charcuterie, chicken liver pate on pear, and pot de creme. One place to indulge this fantasy is Silverspoon. As the name implies, this Wayne byob will pamper you with excellent service (Danny took great care of us) and an eclectic New American menu sourced from local farms. We started off with four teasers...white truffle popcorn, chili roasted almonds, a nice olive selection, and pickled mussels with kimchi. Bliss. My appetizer was the goat cheese gnocchi with grilled peaches, but I wasn't thrilled with them. Flavor was good, but the consistency of the gnocchi was off. I chose the beef shoulder as my entree, and this was very good (I've never had shoulder) and thoughtfully prepared with garlic butter and bacon jus, but I think I would've just preferred a steak. The consistency was just a bit chewy but presentation and flavor were solid. I finished Richie Rich style with an espresso pot de creme that was well worth the calories. The two bottles of Pinot Noir that we threw back kept everyone loose and happy like the House of Lords after cigars and brandy. Overall, a very good choice for a Main Line byob. If you go, you'll be treated to an original menu in a nicely appointed dining room with great service....just please don't say, "yo Adrian."

Best.Bacon.Ever. There, I said it. I dare you to find me a better bite of bacon. I double hog dare you. I know the city is abundant with brunch places, but I am always compelled to drive West, not East when it comes to my favorite meal. The staff is basically your best friend. I don't know if there is some kind of hardcore niceness training they put their folks through, but I have never been to a restaurant that had a staff that I wanted to friend request after visiting. Ok, that sounds stalker-ish, but I mean, it would be a friends with benefits situation...and the benefit is bacon. I first learned about The Silverspoon \when I needed to find a good brunch spot convenient for my family to celebrate my bday. Yelp showed me the way and I booked a table for 9 with no issues. We all enjoyed our meal and there wasn't a sad face in the bunch. I had the crab omelet, which was tasty. They have a monte cristo sandwich that will make your toes curl. We brought our own birthday cake too. I have been back a few times since and every time has been a pleasure. In warmer months, they open it up on the veranda, which is technically facing a parking lot, but it is a nice parking lot. This is the Main Line after all. Oh bonus, they are BYOB!!

I wish silverspoon's lunch was as good as their dinner. I'm again disappointed by the lunch offerings today. Although the mushroom bisque is always classy and sumptuous, the frittata and ham sandwich was not impressive at all. My frittata was dry with a 5 leaves of sad, tasteless lettuce on top. The ham sandwich that my friend had was close to a glorified diner variety. It's too bad that their lunch can't be a little more sophisticated. I go there again for dinner but am definitely skipping lunches there.

To Julia from Sacramento, CA. The head Chef takes great care of the front of house staff. I just wanted to let you know that if your server claimed to have the dish for dinner, he was probably not lying. I am sorry you weren't impressed with the food (personally I have never had a bad meal here), but I thought you should know that your server was not full of it when he told you he had your "more expensive" food as a staff meal.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is not just consistent, it is outstanding every time we go, which is frequently! There are seasonal offerings, there are "pop-up" dinners on Sundays and the favorites are always there. Plus, it is a BYOB restaurant. You will love this secret find.

Came here for Saturday brunch and it was aite... The menu was limited - couldn't even order the standard pancakes or sausage. The french toast was soggy and coffee was cold by the time the cream came around. Food was average. Won't be coming back.

Ladies that lunch come here. Mom with her lacrosse playing daughter in shorts, 40 and 50 something friends for eons, and ab fab main line preps with aerobicized bodies, keys for German cars that aren't VW's, and wearing tasteful jewelry that is worth quite a lot yet is not flashy. Why do the ladies come here? Relaxed yet attentive smooth unobtrusive service, very good food, and a decent location, very nicely decorated, right in Eagle Village shopping center. The fact that all the waiters looked to be cute young men who might fuel some brief daydreams too... I had an omelet that was very good, my wife had shrimp salad she judged to be very good (the shrimp I managed to snag was delicious), I did not like the famous truffle fries that were like typical thin bistro fries but overcooked with a bit of truffle taste. The pear tart was outstandingly delicious and the coffee was good. There are many places on the Main Line to have a nice 2 hour lunch. You could do much worse then the Silverspoon.
I decided to try someplace new for lunch and after perusing Yelp and then navigating through the confusing parking lot of high end shops that make up Eagle Village we arrived at the Silverspoon. We started with the truffled fries - they were good, a bit overcooked and probably not an ideal first course as they left me with a bit of a "grease stomach" - also the cheese mostly overpowered the subtle truffle oil flavor which was fine but not what I was going for when ordering them. My dining partner had the Farmers Omelette of tasty ham and cheese and veggies which he enjoyed, he especially liked the potatoes served with it. I had a salad - the poached shrimp on baby lettuce and it was also good, perhaps a bit sparse but fine. We shared a pear tart that was a tiny bit dry but had a yummy vanilla sauce served with it. Maybe dinner is a different story but this seems like a great place for "ladies who lunch". The service was good and the food was all okay and the place was cute - the prices seemed a tad high for what it was but that reflects the location.

5 of us enjoyed a lovely dinner on Thursday 5/15. We'd had lunch here before, but this was the first time for dinner. Rebecca was terrific. She took care of us by being attentive yet never interrupting the flow of our conversation. We started with the asparagus appetizer and sweet potato chips. Both we delicious. We were surprised by a delicious amuse bouche. I had the lamb and pasta special that was phenomenal. I had the pecan tart for dessert. It was just under $40/person total with tip. I can't wait to go back again!!

2 words: CARMELIZED BACON. My bacon experience has been changed forever. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad they do. The bacon is the perfect amount of crisp/chew/sweet/salt. Ridiculous. Came here for a work lunch. It's definitely a ladies that lunch kinda place. Had the grassfed burger with the bacon. Very, very good, cooked perfectly. Service was great, but I think the kitchen was a little slow. Not a fast paced lunch place, but definitely worth it if you have the time.

The service was perfection. Our servers were great! Very knowledgeable about the food and helped with recommendations. Unfortunately, I can't say that I was blown away by everything I ate. I had the mushroom toast as an appetizer. That was splendid!! However, my entree - salmon - was underwhelming. I'm a big fan of salmon, but there was nothing special about the way it was prepared, seasoned or served. With each bite, I was thinking I should have tried something else...like maybe another serving of the mushroom toast.

This is not your typical diner. The cuisine during my visit focused on locally sourced ingredients to make springtime offerings. On a Thursday night, my girlfriend and I were seated for dinner very quickly. But, we had a long wait for water and to have our order taken. That lost them one star. Fortunately, the food was pretty stellar. We started with grilled pita triangles and a fava bean hummus (similar to foul mudammas). The pita was a little over grilled, but the hummus was very tangy with parsley and citrus mixed throughout. Our entrees were very good. I had mussels in a white broth and a salad. These were *the best* mussels I had ever eaten (take that Monk's). The sauce was rich but balanced with onion and tomato. My salad was fine but not terribly special. The quail and sausage my girlfriend ordered came with a tangy dijon sauce. All the components were satisfying and delicious. Very nice, Silverspoon. You surprised me.

I was in town to take a client to lunch and made reservations based on the reviews on their yelp page. I was not disappointed. To call where this restaurant is located a shopping center isn't accurate - this restaurant is nestled in a collection of shops and boutiques. Adorable location - very quaint. The dining area is a little small - you'll need reservations, that's certain. There are tables outside that also filed up during the lunch rush. The menu is made from fresh, locally grown ingredients and is delicious. I had the mushroom bisque, the farmers omelette, and the hazelnut bread pudding. My only critique - the hazelnut bread using was a little dry (I like mine almost wet with sauce) and there seemed to be salt in everything (sea salt in the bread pudding), which was a little off putting. But, delicious and I would definitely go back for more. !

What a mistake it was coming here not being beyond starving! Stumbling upon here on Saturday morning, my beau and I thought this would be a cute and cozy place to reside until my bride's bridal shower was to commence at another destination. The Silverspoon greeted us with not only a giant silverspoon on the wall as soon as you walk in, but with a smile and the comforts of a warm home. Making their own butters, breads, and pretty much everything on the menu, I was sorry we didn't opt for something more filling. We did however, settle on a fruit platter and a croissant. The pecan butter that came on the side was SO delicious!!! I wanted to spread it on everything - even my apple slices! With outdoor tables too, this place is prepared for the morning Sunday rush, or that Saturday brunch. Cleanest bathrooms in all of PA probably, and a social staff. I would definitely come back....and lucky for me, I'll be back around here in two weeks! Yay!

Came in for dinner. Nothing was very memorable... other than the GF being miserable for still unknown reasons!

I love brunch, not just as a meal but as the decadent, leisurely start to a hard-won weekend. That being said, most of your basic brunch ingredients are inexpensive (eggs, bread, hello?). In order for a restaurant to attract my business, they have to offer something that I would not be likely to make for myself- either because the dish would require lots of effort or I would not normally have the ingredients on hand. I need a reason to ignore the painful realization that I am eating two eggs and a piece of toast for the price of two dozen eggs, a loaf of bread and a bottle of champagne! And the coffee has got to be good! The Silverspoon delivered on all counts. It also offered a cute, cozy atmosphere and great service. So glad we decided to spend our Saturday morning at The Silverspoon!

My favorite place to brunch in Wayne - the food never disappoints - its flavorful, and the combinations inventive. We did have a surly waiter once, but the other two times I've been back, its been great service. I've had the frittata - its huge, but filling. The salads are also wonderful. The truffle fries were a little disappointing. For dinner - We had the lamb and it was really yummy. The dessert (a flourless chocolate cake) was delicious too. Overall, great food, lovely decor, and pretty easy to grab a table.

Brought a date there this past tuesday. To anyone who has been in the food industry ( I have for the past 15 years, I should know better) mon/tues are the b-team days for chefs/waitstaff. The reason why is the main cooks/servers had to work all weekend and these days are generally slower. That may have been the reason why: 1 of the 2 appetizers ordered was not in stock. The accompaniments to the entree were subbed to us without our asking or permission and the meal was lacking in overall presentation. If you look through my reviews, it takes a lot for me to give just 2 stars, but having a heart and paying $60 for a mediocre meal leaves a bad taste in your mouth, no pun intended. What really set me off though was as I was paying the check, a mouse ran across the floor. Having been in this industry I know something some may not, EVERY single restaurant has infestation. Whether insects or vermin, it's a problem anywhere with food being served suffers from. I just don't want to see one after I finished my meal.

P Chart: Place: 4 Really good looking French country feel but not over done. They also have a great patio which is perfect on nice days. Good for a casual date People: 4 Nice, quick and attentive. Waiter came through with a custom choice off the menu during a busy breakfast rush Provisions: 5 Food was terrific. Very fresh and flavorful eggs bene was killer and was the grass fed silver burger. Nothing here disappoints. Price: 5 Great food at a reasonable rate. Tough to find this quality at this price. Performance: 5 Get the bacon! With so little choice for great food on the main line this one ranks among the best for great semi casual food. You will be very pleased and will return

I have mixed feelings about this place. Nice setting, good service and decent locally sourced food...but I feel it's a bit overrated on Yelp. If you're comIng for brunch and are a coffee drinker, be forewarned the coffee is entirely too weak. There's no excuse for this with all the great coffee out there now. I complain about it all the time but they never change it. Brunch is a bit overpriced for what you get. $15 for french toast with berries. I've had good and mediocre brunch food here. It's BYOB but don't expect to feel like it's helping the bottom line because it's definitely not. In fact I find that BYOBs typically charge substantially more for their food to make up for lack of alcohol revenue. Dinner entrees are about $30. Spent about $170 for three which is a bit much for a BYOB and food that was decent (sometimes really good) but not great...to warrant these high prices. I recently had the $32 halibut and it came to the table smelling a bit too fishy. The sides it came with however were delicious. I regret not sending it back as it was obviously a little past its prime. My brother had a $30 strip steak that was tough. My friend's gnocchi was very good but at $25? Really? Overall I felt ripped off. I've given this place way too many tries especially for brunch because it's so close to my house and at least they try to serve decent locally sourced food. I think after that mediocre, entirely too expensive dinner I recently had, however, I'm finally done. If you have money to blow...enjoy the sweet setting, good service and decent overpriced food.

This review is for dinner only. Cannot wait to try out their brunch though! My girlfriends and I went there for Main Line Restaurant Week and we all really enjoyed our food. It's a small place but it's very intimate and chic. Our food was executed very well. It certainly brought out the natural taste of main ingredients. The quail was delicious, so as the trout. We all enjoyed the mini donut balls for desserts. Definitely a good place for a low key but still romantic dinner.

I actually thought this place went out of business when they were in their old location near the Wawa on Route 30. Then I get an invitation for a dinner with some friends and we end up here...and I was glad. Terrific low-key atmosphere, solid wait-staff, and a very eclectic menu made for a fun evening. It is a BYO so plan to have them cork a few bottles for you. And if you can afford the tasting menu - get it! My wife was thrilled with the variety and flavors. Portions were the only thing lacking for my entree (I ordered the quail and rabbit sausage)...what can I say...I like to eat!

A nice little hidden gem in Wayne. Pass by (and I mean PASS BY) Georges right to the end of the shopping center and you'll find a very pleasant BYOB. The service was excellent, most of the food way above average made with regional ingredients and flavors. There is also some patio seating outdoors which is a bonus on a warm summer evening. We started off with the calamari, lightly battered, tender, with peppers, I would give this 3 stars. The chilled asparagus soup with a real nice bitey Fieldstone cheese in the center, 5 stars, I loved it!! For entrees, I had the roasted Cornish chicken with mushroom and spring pea risotto, this was a solid 4 star dish. The risotto was cooked perfectly, the chicken a bit dry, but very very good. My friend had the scallops with roasted pear and honey-lemon brown butter. Another 4 star dish. For dessert we split a pecan tort, made in-house...a perfect ending. This was a great find for a weekday evening when you don't know what you want to do or where to go, just grab a bottle and relax. Wonderful!!

We went to Silverspoon for dinner, and upon the recommendation of our waiter our party of three ordered the Five Course Chef's Tasting, which consists of dishes selected by the chef. I mentioned that I did not eat red meat and the waiter said that dietary restrictions would be accomodated. Our fourth course consisted of veal, and I reminded our waiter that I did not eat red meat. He told me that he had originally mentioned this to the chef, and proceeded to take my dish back to the kitchen. He returned with the same dish, contiaining the sides of potatoes and vegetables, but with no meat, and told me that the chef said that veal was not red meat, it was veal. I asked if some other meat could be substituted, such as chicken, and our waiter replied: "No, not with this dish." I realize that veal may be considered to be white meat rather than red meat by some, and information on the internet states that in culinary circles it may be considered white meat although elsewhere I read that it was reclassified as red meat. Nonetheless, I think I should have been asked if veal would be okay. Furthermore, I think that upon my request the restaurant should have substituted a different meat (such as chicken). The end result was that for one of my main courses the substitution for a veal dish with potatoes and vegetables was a plate of potatoes and vegetables, and I was still charged full price. Most restaurants will try hard to satisfy their customers since repeat business is important to them, but this was not one of them. Our party usually leaves a tip of 20% of more, but in this case we limited it to 10% as we felt our waiter let us down by not standing up for us. I will no be returning to Silverspoon.

Love the bacon! Pricey, but delicious food. Especially the bacon. Went for Sunday lunch/brunch. Chicken salad sandwich was good but not spectacular (for $12). Lunch Food gets a four. Bacon gets a five. Service gets a two. Server just walked up to our table at every encounter and interrupted our talk. I appreciate it when servers pause at the table to let the diner finish a thought, a sentence, a word. She just walked up and started talking EVERY time! Because my back was to the kitchen, I didn't have any visual warning that an unnecessary interruption was headed our way. I also don't recall being offered an iced tea refill. Average score: 3. I know this isn't mathematically correct, but I do know that the service had a material impact on my experience at this restaurant that works hard on its menu. Go and try the bacon!

Went here for lunch during work with some co-workers. We sat outside which was nice, but the tables were small, could barely fit everyone's food on it and we didn't order anything extra. This place seems to be frequented by Mainline Moms who are in the area for shopping. The food was okay - a bit bland, and nothing out of the ordinary in terms of creativity. Service was painfully slow during lunch hour, it seemed they only had 2-3 servers for over 15 tables.

maybe expectations were too high... a place filled with main line ladies who lunch, you would expect great food. While some of the menu items appear inventive, the execution is just horrible. I had a omelette where the eggs were dramatically overcooked while the crab filling was dramatically undercooked and underseasoned. My dining companion has some mushroom bisque which tasted like it came from canned Campells soup. Her BLT was average at best with way too much bacon and cherry tomatoes which really didnt work. There are much better options in the area

The Silver Spoon is the cutest freaking place ever. All I can think about is how fantastic it's going to be when Spring/Summer happens and they open the doors and have seating out on the patio. I will be bringing my OB, and planting my arse there for hours, that's for sure. I went there (thanks to Yelp!) a couple Saturdays ago for a late breakfast / early lunch. I was paranoid there wouldn't be any tables, because that's how I am whenever I go somewhere with an above-average Yelp! rating, but the place was pretty empty at around 10:30 a.m., so we got a spot by the window. I was immediately charmed by the warm yellow walls and metallic ceiling tile-thingies (I'm so not interior-design-savvy), and the case of mysterious desserts and granola-y looking items. I say mysteries because they didn't have any labels, nor did anyone mention them on any menu I saw. Also charming was the four-top of older, nicely-coiffed ladies who were literally discussing various iterations of Bridge (apparently there's something called "the _new_ bridge," which is played by the most foreward-thinking old ladies, but hated on by actual old ladies), and saying things like, "Doris, you have *got* to come over for Mah Jong." The menu was pretty awesome. Saturday mornings, they put out the Mid-Day menu, which is a smattering of both breakfast and lunch items. We had envisioned breakfast at first, but then they described the soups, so we changed it up. My husband had the Silver Spoon Mushroom soup with cumin croutons and chili oil, which was amazingly rich and has to be a calorie-fest. I got the turkey and escarole soup which was light, tasty, and more escarole-y than turkey-ish. Then, my husband ordered this breakfast sandwich - homemade english muffin, bacon, caramelized onions, egg, and cheddar; I ordered the tuna sandwich, because it said it included pickled onions, and I was inspired to go there before 11:00 a.m., simply because they were going to let me. Our server, whose name I forget, was really welcoming, funny, and gorgeous. We hung out for a while and had two ginormous cups of coffee, soaked up some rays in our window seat, and then picked up some menus to take home with us to pine over our next meal there. Any place with pretty people, sunshine, homemade english muffins, and local ingredients is a must in my book. I'm going back for Sunday brunch tomorrow with a girlfriend, so hopefully my 5 star Yelpage won't catch on so soon that I have to wait in line!

I'm so glad I use yelp to find only the best restaurants. This place is tucked away in the back area of a trendy strip mall. The service and food were great - I went in hungry, but didn't expect to finish the entire Chicken "Waldorf" Salad Sandwich when it was brought out to me (it was huge). I did. I even licked the stuff off the plate (in a classy way, of course?) Yum.

Went here for mothers day. The service was good. Atmosphere and decor are done well. I had the buckwheat crepes. Portions were on the smaller side. Very tasty. The bacon was some of the best I've had. So good. I'm going to go back here.

Been here for lunch a few times and decided to try it for dinner. Overall it was a good dinner and the service was fine. It is one of the quietest BYO's in this area, and the food was as good as most. Confit wrapped in puff pastry was a nice dish, the salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty without being heavy. Trout was good as was the sausage entree. Just wasn't a great night because of a cold, so can't comment a lot on the overall taste. Prices were on a par with most places in this area. Plenty of parking, and no corkage.

We had dinner with friends on Friday Dec. 7. I called at the last minute and was fortunate that we were able to get a table at 7:45. The ambience was warm in this small BYOB. I started with the Heirloom beet, spinach, bacon and goat cheese salad. I opted not to have the walnuts which may have added some saltiness that I thought was missing. My friend had the warm frisée salad and needed to salt hers as well. Other than that, the salad was delicious. As an entree I ordered the Kennett mushroom and potato gnocchi with venison and bacon ragu. Yes, it was as good as it sounds and all of the flavors and textures that I was anticipating. My husband ordered the beef shoulder and was disappointed because he thought it lacked flavor. The chef offers a tasting menu for $50 which two of us wanted to order but the whole table has to order it which was disappointing. Our waiter Michael was attentive and friendly making our dining experience very pleasant.

Good fresh food well prepared but too expensive.

(4)Anne O.
(5)Jason D.
Very friendly service, food was amazing. Byob. Fried green tomato, crawfish remoulade app was good and duck breast special was great. Don't miss the donuts!

Best bacon!!

(5)Lindsay H.
(4)Stacey S.
(4)Brett C.
This restaurant was difficult to find, despite knowing that fact going in. The atmosphere was very nice. It had a European village feel to it, which made it great for a romantic date. The food was fancy and quite good. Don't forget to bring your own wine!
(4)R T.
(5)Pam R.

We went there several times. The food is verry consistent, excellent food, well refined, byob. Highly recommended. Service could be a bit better.

Love this place for it's use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and creativity and atmosphere. Give it a try!

We had made reservations for a sleepy Sunday morning and were the first group that morning. The atmosphere was nice. Typical for a restaurant serving brunch in Wayne. The staff was attentive, but a bit awkward at times. I ordered an Orange Juice and assumed that if you have a menu solely devoted to brunch the OJ would be fresh squeezed. "Fresh from the carton" is what our waiter told us. Disappointing, but it only only gets better from here. They banana bread that they served was moist and flavorful and they butter was creamy and full of flavor. I ordered a BLT with Turkey and my fiancé ordered a fancy farmhouse cheddar grilled cheese with mushroom duxelle and a mornay sauce. We also split an order of truffle fries. The BLT was layered with flavor. Starting out with thick cut caramelized pepper bacon, bright (in both color and flavor) seasonal tomatoes and lettuce with thinly sliced turkey on lightly toasted pumpernickel bread. The grilled cheese was made with farmhouse cheddar, a well made exotic mushroom duxelle with arugula on a pullman white bread and a mornay sauce on the side. My fiancé liked the sauce so much she dipped EVERYTHING we had at the table in it. The hand cut truffle fries were rich with earthy flavor, topped with grated parmesan and accompanied by an aioli that complimented them quite well. Overall I would give them 3 and half stars (I've noticed that people tend to hand out stars in the suburbs much easier than they do in the city). I would definitely go back, and would prepare my self for a nice glass of Tropicana.

Nice find in Wayne. Enjoyed a delicious baby arugula salad, lobster ravioli and my wife had the beef shoulder, spot on service, food and hospitality. Well done!

Breakfast at the Silver Spoon was EXCELLENT! Best French Toast I have ever had! Service = wonderful Go!!!!!! Dd
(5)Marty D.
(5)John C.
Needed a nice place near King of Prussia for a breakfast/lunch that was not another chain restaurant. This place fits the bill. Nice spot with yummy food and nice people.

(5)Judy L.
(4)Lily W.
(5)Marina B.

Had a lovely lunch with some girlfriends here. All our food was delicious, and the place was packed. They are not open all day long so check the hours before you show up.
(4)J. D. B.
summer tasting menu was killer. service was a bit slow and distracted, however, focusing on some nearby tables which seemed to have regulars than us newbies. but the food makes it worth a return trip. value for the tasting menu was also excellent.

(4)Christy W.

(5)Lydia B.

Get the runny eggs, they are awesome!
(4)Emily M.
(4)Nicole G.
Went for brunch... Good food, great coffee, OUTSTANDING service. Our waiter was always there to offer suggestions, fill our coffee, or bring us anything else we needed... Most of the time without even having to ask. The breakfast potatoes are to die for... If you go for brunch you must try them!
(5)Rachel P.

(4)Melanie R.

Picked up lunch for five. Everyone raved about their sandwiches! Can't wait to go again.

(3)Lew B.
(2)N L.
Had the Gnocchi and the Halibut for our first visit to Silverspoon and we'll definitely be back. Great service and food!
(5)Christine B.

Doesn't get any better. Great quality food....very good service....reasonable prices...and BYOB. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Outside seating in good weather is very nice.

What a great find. Friendly greeting, warm knowledgable service, and AMAZING good. DOUBLE YUM! Must try - mushroom bisque, arugula salad with pears and harvest omelette. Oh great coffee too!

(2)Stephanie D.

We love brunch here, inventive and coffee is great! Menu selection isn't crazy large, but fairly inventive. My father in law came with us once and it's now his favorite place when visiting :)
(5)Siobhán C.
(5)Paul F.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is not just consistent, it is outstanding every time we go, which is frequently! There are seasonal offerings, there are "pop-up" dinners on Sundays and the favorites are always there. Plus, it is a BYOB restaurant. You will love this secret find.
(5)M R.
Came here for Saturday brunch and it was aite... The menu was limited - couldn't even order the standard pancakes or sausage. The french toast was soggy and coffee was cold by the time the cream came around. Food was average. Won't be coming back.
(3)Steve K.
(4)Peiyu L.
I came here with my parents and boyfriend to celebrate my graduation. I really like the intimate ambiance of this restaurant and the fact that it is BYOB. Additionally the service is great. I had the appetizer special that night which was escargot. It was buttery, but not overly greasy. I also loved the skate, which was my entrée. It was not fishy at all and the meat was very tender. I tried some of my mom's mushroom bisque and was blown away. I was almost jealous that I did not order that instead. My boyfriend's BLT soup was also very good. You can't go wrong with the soups here. Sliverspoon is definitely one of the best restaurants that I have been to in the main line.

(4)Sheena S.

(4)Maureen S.
We had the most amazing dinner here. Equally amazing was the level of service! Michael was so fantastic and his knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu made our experience here a memorable one. We are already planning a return to Silverspoon in the near future.
(5)Jaclyn L.
Yay!
(5)Kristen F.
One of the most unique and delicious BLTs I've ever had. The bacon has a sweet flavor to it and all of the veggies and bread were super fresh. Really enjoyed dining al fresco at Silverspoon and will be back!
(4)Kathy Y.
Excellent. Good food and great service. Very nice byob in Wayne.
(4)Darcy G.
This place is fabulous- brunch, lunch or dinner. They are only open Tues-Sat for dinner but it is SOOOO worth it. The menu is limited, but there is something for all tastes and the food and presentation are just stunning. Plus it's a BYOB!! We went Sat night for dinner and had the most amazing dinner. Chef Tim and server Stephen- way to go!!
(5)Kelly B.
Poor service. Food was fine, nothing to write home about.

(4)Graham T.
(4)Brian H.

(2)Mark J.
maybe expectations were too high... a place filled with main line ladies who lunch, you would expect great food.

(4)Matt R.
Went here for mothers day. The service was good. Atmosphere and decor are done well. I had the buckwheat crepes. Portions were on the smaller side. Very tasty. The bacon was some of the best I've had. So good. I'm going to go back here.
(3)Charles R.
