March 1st 2015 we stop at our local max n ermas. Looking forward to the Erma size nachos. BUT oh no They don't do Erma size anymore, changed the price and size, oh and if want chili meat you now pay extra for it. Hello longhorns and outback and olive garden right in the same area! I am sick of places changing things based in feedback of a few idiots. Here is my feedback....no one order the new nachos at max and ermas ever. I wonder if they remove it completely.

You know that feeling when you pull into a restaurant parking lot ands it's near empty and you wonder if you should leave? I so regret not listening to my gut. Worst food I've had in a long time. With all the good restaurants around here this place won't be around long. Waitress was good thought.

So they actually read these, they seem to want to be a go to place for folks to hangout... Went back today and had the fish sandwich and pulled pork, the fish sandwich was just as good as before, something about bacon on fish sandwich is just awesome - it's much better than it sounds, I would never had paired the two lololol... Fries were hot this time... Much like the first time we ate here. David was our waiter and you could not have asked for better... I was actually contacted by the management after the previous review, they honestly want the place to excel... With folks like that working and the apparent attitude of the company as a whole... We will keep coming back :) Previous review: Well done burger was pink and cool in middle... They seem to be used to it. My med rare burger was as rare as rare could be and still be "cooked". Sad, their happy hour is awesome, the fish sandwich was awesome... Wife got the fish and chips after we returned the burger... It was very good (except room temp fries)... With a little effort this could be good... If it weren't for room temp fries would be 3 stars... Really, how hard is it to have hot fries??? Our server prior was great, this one... Not so much. To the management if you read this, it could really be a great location with just a little more effort.

Had previously sworn this place off due to crap service, but thought I'd give them another chance because the food is still good. Tonight I kinda regret that decision. In her defense, our waitress' name tag did say something about being new. That being said, she STILL has A LOT to learn. And shame on management for putting her on her own being so ignorant of her waitressing duties. She never introduced herself, she was relatively prompt with taking orders and anything we asked. We had to ask for silverware twice. The app dishes we were given were dirty. (VERY dirty!) I was charged for bacon on my burger, which I did not get. (Not her fault, but it is her fault for not taking it off the bill, having known that I did not get it. Point being... She needs much more training, and I hope management realizes this. Aside from that, our food was excellent! Aside from the fact that the lazy kitchen staff forgot the bacon on my burger, and gave me lettuce core, and pickle nubs. I mean who eats the core of lettuce and the very ends of pickles. Very careless, and seemingly harmless, but leaves a huge impression. Overall.... Tell your cooks to stop being lazy, and get that girl some training!!

Newer restaurant. Staff was friendly and the food was hot and delish! We ordered sandwiches and soups that were delivered promptly and the bar staff was funny and engaged in conversation with us but didn't over power our personal conversations. This was a clean restaurant and I would definitely go back if in the Washington, PA area again.

Walking up to and into Max & Erma's I already knew what to expect. The atmosphere is like any other small town eatery. Random mismatched wall art and posters gave a very typical chain restaurant vibe. The chandeliers above the larger "dining" tables were a cute touch though. I ordered the brat burger. Essentially a brat with sauerkraut, spicy mustard, and pickle served on a pretzel bun. All burgers come with their famous fries, which frankly had to have come from a freezer. All in all, I would not order a brat burger or fries again. The upside to coming to Max and Erma's is the free cookie Wednesday. At the end of your meal they give out slightly warm cookies of your choice. Again, these are probably mass produced and straight from the freezer. I personally prefer fresh, made from scratch ingredients. If you do too, don't bother with this chain restaurant.

On the road for Thanksgiving, but still enjoyed a quote acceptable 3 course turkey dinner, including chicken taco soup. Food was quite good and plentiful (couldn't finish it all). Server was very pleasant. A nice find at the last minute.

I drove about 40 minutes to eat here and was very much worth it. My wife and I had an excellent meal and our server Lisa was quite amazing. I also enjoyed free cookie Wednesday. I will be frequenting this place far more often.

Took students here today during a field trip for lunch. There were four of us. The manager wanted to seat us at the bar. I had said to him, is it legal for underage people to sit in the bar area? He rudely said no and set us down. someone who was not our server came to take our drink order. our server seemed to be be pulled in many different directions. She was all over the place. She was a good server, but she seemed to be stretched a little bit then for the four tables in the bar that she had. I never saw a manager walk through the bar area or anybody else to even offer help to her.

Same experience. Slow service. Staff fighting over cleaning tables it was a bad experience. Food was just ok.

I usually stop by for a drink at the bar once in awhile after work. The bartenders are exceptionally friendly and give excellent customer service. When I have ordered food everything is always piping hot and good.

I've never been before, but I won't be back. Perhaps because this is a new restaurant, they don't have their act together, but I was disappointed. The hostess sat us promptly, and as we walked through the restaurant, there were at least 5 tables waiting to be cleaned. This didn't bother me because perhaps they just got through with a rush. The place was 1/2 empty. The largest party was a table of 6 nearby. Our waiter was slow to acknowledge us, slow to bring us menus, slow to bring drinks, slow to take our order, and slow to deliver our food. We waited at least 15 minutes for the check after we finished eating. I found this difficult to understand because they weren't slammed. The floor needed to be cleaned from other diners' previous visits. As for the food, it was okay, but not outstanding. My husband had a burger and I got the steak salad, both of which I could have easily made at home. It was okay, but not impressive.
