Yesterday I had my favorite the Michael salad. Back again today and tried something new, Portobello Chicken. It was good... Will definitely have it again. The dressings are homemade, which is how I judge any restaurant because I always start a meal with a salad. They have the best choices of desserts and free gelato samples. I have had a few bad experiences here but the last few times it was delicious.

I ordered a garlic oil pasta when they first opened. It had no flavor to it. They gave me bread that was partly frozen and cold. The gelato is really over priced. It's a nice atmosphere but was not impressed by any of the food.

Feels a bit like a chain, not sure it is... Food and service generally good but VERY spotty... It's either very good or bad service bad food... If you go on a good day, worth the visit. If you hit a bad day, you probably won't go back. Priced right for a good visit, horribly overpriced on a bad day. The worst day here though is still much much better than the chain Italian restaurant we all know.

I was referred here by a colleague and so glad I came. Had the spaghetti w/ ravioli (added meat sauce) and it was excellent! Service was great & food cooked quickly. Ohh, prices are pretty affordable priced as well!

I dined at the restaurant today, Sunday, 9 August 2015, for the first time in years to enjoy the Sunday brunch buffet. The restaurant is attractive and comfortable. My service was fine and attentive, but the middle-aged gentleman who appeared to be managing the dining room, and who refilled my water, was not the least bit friendly or welcoming nor did he smile. The food station is in a dark area of the restaurant and nothing is labeled, thus one must guess what they are selecting. There was a delicious fusili pasta in cream sauce and what I believe was chicken cacciatore. The meatballs were excellent. I do not need to be told what eggs, bacon, and meatballs are, but the other dishes should have been identified. In lieu of labeling the dishes, the server could tell the diner what is available when greeting the customer. Lighting throughout the restaurant is not bright enough to enable one to read, something which is not appropriate for a Sunday at 11:00 a. m. There was a nice mixed green salad with dressings and a fresh fruit bowl containing melon, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and pineapple. It was a good meal, priced fairly at $12.99, but I do not know that I would go out of the way for it.

Been to this place several times. Very friendly wait staff. Fresh ingredients, They don't add sugar to their sauce which I appreciate, Parmesan cheese is flaked (nice touch), great meals! We ordered anti pasta salad and spaghetti during a non busy 5 p.m. and it took a long time. Couldn't figure that one out. They also didn't replenish the sparse amount of bread they gave us. I really don't eat a lot of bread, but doesn't everyone love bread with salad and spaghetti? Would have been an easy 4 stars if not for a couple basic lapses in service.

Angelo's recently moved from its longtime location on Chestnut Street in Washingto to a newer, brighter building on the west side of town. Now, parking is simple, and the restaurant is much larger. Unfortunately, the move brought with it some drawbacks: most of the food and wine prices have increased, and the atmosphere is just not comparable to the former location - I feel almost like I'm eating in an Eat n'Park. All of that said, I have been eating at Angelo's since I was a child and will keep going back for the spaghetti and meatballs.

Angelo's is that premiere Italian restaurant in Washington that you and all your family can go to and have a grand time. If you plan on going out on the town in Washpa, which is what the kids call it these days, you best be going to Angelo's and order some legitimate Italian Cuisine. Angelo's won't disappoint with any of their Italian dishes; they might be a bit expensive, but, you get what you pay for, and you won't be left without a smile after downing something like their Balsamic Chicken, or their Chicken Marsala. Everything I've ever had from Angelo's is delicious and tastes like something a grandma named Mima made. What else could you ask for?

Ah, Angelo's! Ti voglio bene. Fled from Cincinnati for the weekend, drawn to a more Italian area, discovered Angelo's and thoroughly enjoyed our authentic and delicious meal at this 3rd generation family owned establishment. Fine dining in a warm family atmosphere. My husband and I shared two appetizers... The fried calamari, which were done to perfection, just firm enough to the bite and served with a delightful chunky marinara sauce; and the roasted garlic, which was exquisite. Elephant garlic roasted golden brown till it just slides out of the skin and melts under your fork, or you can spread it on the accompanying garlic bruschetta. It was quite a presentation, and well worth the price. Three people could share this and feel quite satisfied. We then elected to share an entree, the veal piccata. Delectable sauce, and very generous on the capers. Veal was so tender I cut it with the butter knife. Came with green beans that were nicely seasoned and we had the side of spaghetti, other choices included risotto and garlic mashed. After all that, alas no room for dessert, but if we're fortunate enough to come through here again will limit it to one appetizer and try the gelato! We had a 7 pm reservation and were seated within 2 minutes. The place was full to bursting, and quite a few people waiting for tables. Service was just fine in a very bustling atmosphere. Hey, we're back in the northeast! We had a great Italian meal. It was extra fun because I have a cat named Angelo, too. I highly recommend Angelo's!

They have plenty of vegetarian options but favorite part of Angelo's is the gelato bar. I've pretty much sampled every flavor and I think Death By Chocolate is my favorite.

We had a large group of 25 for a family event and arranged a special menu. They had a nice small room and served food immediately and timely throughout the night. There was a flatbread pizza waiting as an appetizer followed by salad and then family style main dishes. The service was attentive and friendly. The chicken parmigiana was especially tasty but I also enjoyed the bread! Meatballs were flavorful as well. The meal was topped with gelato, featuring a multitude of flavors. I would recommend this for a hearty Italian meal at a good price.

Came here from out of town with a co- worker and we were very happy. Got the Panini special with turkey and bacon. The sandwich was very large as was my co-workers meal. The service was fast and friendly. The bathroom was very nice as was the rest of the restaurant.

To celebrate our anniversary (492 months) my wife asked to go to Angelo's Restaurant. Her dad immigrated from Italy 101 years ago in 1912 so we've eaten many homemade Italian meals over the years. I made a reservation for 6 p.m. and we were seated promptly on our arrival. The new restaurant looks very nice, is extremely busy and a bit noisy, but so are all good Italian meals. We elected to try the fried zucchini appetizers which were tasty but unfortunately contained more fried batter than zucchini. I wanted the Eggplant Parmigiana and my wife ordered meat Ravioli. The servers are very swift and efficient and brought hard Italian bread and butter and the appetizer. The entrees arrived before we were finished with the appetizer. While my wife was happy with her ravioli I was very disappointed in the eggplant parmigiana. It was a pile of burned mush and had obviously been way overcooked some time in the recent past and re-heated to serve to me. I had asked the server if the eggplant was fresh or frozen and she assured me it was cooked fresh. I don't like mushy vegetables. The eggplant was an insult. I know that my mother-in-law Nana Mazzotti would have never served it and I'm pretty sure that Angelo and Giaccomina would have been embarrassed to put it on a plate to serve to any guest. I can understand a chef needing to precook some items to serve a meal, but this was a very bad example and I was afraid to try anything else so we paid and left. Best part of meal? The bread and water for me. Wife enjoyed her ravioli. It was one of the least satisfying anniversary dinners in our 41 years together. I really miss the Sunday dinners we shared with my wife's family during the first ten years. There is nothing better than a good meal in a happy Italian home.....

This restaurant is about 45 minutes from our home so the only time we go here is when we are in the area. We have eaten here two times over the past year. Both times it was very good. We arrived for an early dinner around 3:30. We did not need reservations since it was so early. There were a few people seated and eating in the bar area. There were 3 tables seated in the dining area. Our first visit was very different, we had no idea we needed reservations for an evening meal, we arrived to find a full house. The hostess did find us a small 2 seat table near the kitchen. Which was fine with us. The menu is large and has something for everyone. Reasonably priced, for good food that's fresh and not from a large chain restaurant. Our waitress was very prompt. She did a wonderful job bringing our drinks and food. She brought butter and bread which was a very yummy crusty Italian. We did not have appetizers. They all looked quite good, we never order appetizers anywhere we eat. This time my husband had the spaghetti with meat sauce and meat balls, I had the chicken piccata with a side of pasta with marinara. My husband loved his meal. Two large meatballs on top a huge dish of pasta covered with plenty of meat sauce. I tried a bite of his food and it was very good. The meat balls and sauce were perfect. My chicken piccata was equally good. The two big chicken breasts were tender and had plenty of sauce although I would have liked a few more capers. It was done perfectly! The side of pasta with marinara was also very good. I am not a big fan of marinara sauce, however this was tasty. Not just a tomato sauce, it was a nice, lightly seasoned red sauce. We did get a piece of farina walnut torte to go. We ate it at home later that evening. It was incredible, light, and very tasty. We recommend this restaurant. We will eat here again when we are in the area.

I am definitely a fan of Angelo's. It's a favorite place for my wife and I to go on a date. The atmosphere is nice enough without being stuffy. The bar area is even a good place to catch a game or get some drinks with your friends. I've never had a bad meal at Angelo's in an individual setting or in a large group. We have had birthday and anniversary parties and even our rehearsal dinner here. The gelato is great and the selection will give you something to think about. The service is usually very friendly with a few minor incidences but nothing worth mentioning and nothing that wasn't taken care of quickly and easily.
I don't get to eat at Angelo's often as it is an hour away from home, but I look forward to the opportunities to eat there. It is one of those rare restaurants where there are a number of entrees that I like. Service is always top notch.

Great food. Having the reservation saved us 45 minute wait. Waitress was wonderful. The owner is a wonderful member of the community. He supports the Citizen's Library Fundraiser each year by providing delicious Lamb Chops, which are the hit of the evening!

Excellent food. Horrible service. Here was the evening : Waitress Came to table, asked if we wanted drinks & appetizers. Came back w/. Took food order. Didn't come back Until I was almost through e/ my entree. She asked "Is everything still OK here" as she walked past w/o actually stopping. Our drinks stood empty until she came back unprompted w/ a desert tray, where she asked my wife, but almost left before I could speak up. Brought coffee W/O A SPOON. I then asked for a spoon & never got one. I ended up using my fork. We had decided not to say anything to management, however I left no tip.

We were on a road trip, happened upon the listing for this restaurant on our GPS. A quick look at the website sold us. However, they had just changed locations, so we were led to two bogus locations by our GPS. We walked in 10 minutes before closing, and thy seated us anyway, to our surprise and delight! The food did not disappoint. Perhaps I am stereotyping small Appalachian towns, but I was not expecting much in terms of food quality. This place compared favorably to many a restaurant im DC, NYC, and other big metro areas (with a much nicer pricetag,BTW). MUST TRY!

Angelo's was okay for the price. For two people, with app, and dessert (no drinks) it came to $60 before tip. This, for the average quality of the food, was a little much. Our appetizer, shrimp over spinach with a portabella mushroom was pretty good - I thought perhaps a little too over grilled though (a bit chewy). I got the ravioli diablo with rock shrimp for my entree: the cheese ravioli were fine, but for it being a "diablo" sauce, it really lacked spice or any other discerning flavor other than tomato. My husband got Pasta Laroqua (?) Which had linguine and green beans in a red sauce flavored with wine. He thought it was pretty good (but didn't have anything else to say about it). Our dessert, however, was fantastic. We opted for the Signature Cheesecake which had almonds and chocolate ganace on a cookie crust. This was the highlight of the meal by far. Overall, it was okay. For the same price you could go to a boring chain restaurant, which I would suggest you not do - everyone deserves something better than prepackaged microwaved meal for the price.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Took several minute's to be seated and they weren't busy. Guess all the suits and ties got the better service.The food was sub par at best. The shrimp diablo was about 6/10 and I have had fra diavlo at many different Italian restaurant's. "Rock shrimp" were nothing but tiny salad shrimp. My fiancé got the pasta primavira and she complained that it tasted like throw up, I tasted it and she wasn't far off. Consisted of bland veggies tossed w linguine noodles. The prices were absurd for the type of food they had to offer, just about every pasta dish was $16-$20 along with almost $30 strip steak n I have had way better at Applebee's, Bravo, Cheesecake factory or Olive Garden and the prices were less. I heard growing up that the food wasn't all that spectacular and after our first time this was our last trip there.

Great food. Having the reservation saved us 45 minute wait. Waitress was wonderful. The owner is a wonderful member of the community. He supports the Citizen's Library Fundraiser each year by providing delicious Lamb Chops, which are the hit of the evening!

Excellent food. Horrible service. Here was the evening : Waitress Came to table, asked if we wanted drinks & appetizers. Came back w/. Took food order. Didn't come back Until I was almost through e/ my entree. She asked "Is everything still OK here" as she walked past w/o actually stopping. Our drinks stood empty until she came back unprompted w/ a desert tray, where she asked my wife, but almost left before I could speak up. Brought coffee W/O A SPOON. I then asked for a spoon & never got one. I ended up using my fork. We had decided not to say anything to management, however I left no tip.

We were on a road trip, happened upon the listing for this restaurant on our GPS. A quick look at the website sold us. However, they had just changed locations, so we were led to two bogus locations by our GPS. We walked in 10 minutes before closing, and thy seated us anyway, to our surprise and delight! The food did not disappoint. Perhaps I am stereotyping small Appalachian towns, but I was not expecting much in terms of food quality. This place compared favorably to many a restaurant im DC, NYC, and other big metro areas (with a much nicer pricetag,BTW). MUST TRY!

Angelo's was okay for the price. For two people, with app, and dessert (no drinks) it came to $60 before tip. This, for the average quality of the food, was a little much. Our appetizer, shrimp over spinach with a portabella mushroom was pretty good - I thought perhaps a little too over grilled though (a bit chewy). I got the ravioli diablo with rock shrimp for my entree: the cheese ravioli were fine, but for it being a "diablo" sauce, it really lacked spice or any other discerning flavor other than tomato. My husband got Pasta Laroqua (?) Which had linguine and green beans in a red sauce flavored with wine. He thought it was pretty good (but didn't have anything else to say about it). Our dessert, however, was fantastic. We opted for the Signature Cheesecake which had almonds and chocolate ganace on a cookie crust. This was the highlight of the meal by far. Overall, it was okay. For the same price you could go to a boring chain restaurant, which I would suggest you not do - everyone deserves something better than prepackaged microwaved meal for the price.

As others have said, the new location doesn't work as well as the former. No atmosphere ! Food is good. Wait staff pretty good. Hostesses are usually rude.
