Tried Hoods for the first time last night and LOVED it! I ordered "The Hoodie" which was phenomenal. Got to eat outside which was a treat, but is a very busy and noisy road. There was live music inside that looked fun. I'll definitely be back!

First visit to a place I've driven past many times between Coatesville and points south but never stopped in. It was a pleasant surprise and glad I finally visited. Parking in the back was a little tight but plenty of parking across the street. Restaurant has a dining room, bar area with high top tables and outdoor seating. The have a bar area but the place is Byob. Service was pleasant, owner visited and chatted with us before we left and made a very positive impression. I always like giving business to local family owned places. We ordered the picnic platter which easily fed three of us and our other person had a wrap. For apps we got the fried green beans and corn fritters. Both were good and came out quickly. For the BBQ, sauce is on the sweeter side and it's wet which I like. Might not appeal to every taste and they didn't have options for BBQ sauce so if you want hot or dry rub might not be your place. Positive experience and would return!

very nice place, high chairs, good service I ordered the combo plate of Chicken, Baby Back Ribs and pulled pork, two sides of Sweet Potato Fries and Potato Salad for two people. The ribs and pulled pork were very tender and juicy, the chicken was very dry. The sides were also tasty. Overall, great experience.

I expected better from a BBQ place. I got the ribs and they were tough, very difficult to cut through and had a chemical taste to them. I have had better ribs at a chain restaurant. Their Mac-and-cheese was gross - it taste like those prepackaged Lipton noodle mixes you throw together at home. My husband got the pulled pork and said he was disappointed, it was very dry. He wasn't thrilled with the coleslaw either. He never complains about food EVER, so for him to be disappointed is rare! We spent close to $50 for 2 meals we didn't finish, I feel ripped off! Will not be going back.

Had a wonderful dinner at this recently reopened BBQ place in Unionville. The restaurant is updated with a nice bar area and the food was outstanding. Definitely best BBQ around and worth the ride. The ride down 82 is beautiful and you will enjoy the ribs, brisket and all the BBQ at Hood's. Service was great and staff was very friendly , too. We will be back!

The pulled pork was good. Unfortunately, they were out of brisket ( a main feature on the menu). after we ordered they informed us that they were also out of baked beans. My meal was average at best - very disappointed.

Have heard so many great things about Hood's. Lived up to the rave reviews. Finally in town to try for myself. Had the combo ribs, pork, and brisket. Best BBQ since I visited Texas years ago. But better! Great local corn. And homemade desserts. Not that you'll have room!

Tonight we tried the pulled brisket and sweet potato fries and both were winners. They also had a yummy riblet sandwich featuring rib meat on a bun. Very good too!

Stumbled upon Hood's by using guess what? My Yelp Mobile App. Cool. I had simply not heard about Hood's, and my curiosity piqued upon realizing I've got BBQ right near me. I've now been here a handful of times for lunch. I've tried "The Hoodie", the house BBQ pork sandwich and also, a special chalkboard item, the homemade meatloaf sandwich, which while not necessarily a BBQ classic, a very tasty sandwich. I've also gotten BBQ pork to go. Some of the side dishes were "ok". Service is super friendly. There are many other standard deli items on the menu so I do look forward to coming back. You also can't beat having lunch with some of the local color mounted on the walls!

First time visit, caught the last day before they close for remodeling. Sad I can't go back real soon but happy for the place to be doing well enough to take on closing to dress the place up. My wife and I had the ribs, outstanding. Great smoke, tender juicy, nice sauce (more on the side please). One more thing to look forward to in the spring. Thanks for a good meal.

Wow, what a disappointment. This used to be a gem for us locals in Unionville. The charm, atmosphere, friendly family ownership feel and worst of all food quality for a reasonable price is GONE. Where do I begin?? Visited the new place twice only to find it 'unopened' or maybe 1/2 opened after the 'grand opening', second time it was flat out closed. Third time's a charm, right? Wrong :-( First, thought there would be some outdoor seating with all these renovations, not. Park around rear in a terrible lot and my anxiety is rising. What happened to the family feel? #1 of gone - replaced with young kids with 'its a job, I really don't care' poor attitude. #2 of gone atmosphere... looks like I visited Kirklands or Pier1 to try to *force* my home to look like the comfort of old Hood's. High ceilings, echoing toddlers crying, and that staff, ugh. BTW, we have 5 children of our own, so we're used to *some* of the normal rants, but this canyon feel makes it so much worse. #3 Bar! ... not. BYOB, no alcohol at all. So do I bring my own bottle of wine or Jack and hang out at an empty restaurant bar that eats up so much interior real estate? probably not. #4 of gone... menu... good old stuff, plastic letter menu, hoagie or cheesesteak, a pickle and some chips, a trip over to the fridge for a drink... replaced by some snooty high priced dishes. I still ordered the half rack. $19.99! 20 bucks for a rather dry and small portion of ribs. My wife's brisket was also a huge disappointment. My wife and I and a 5 yr old... over $50, even with the measly tip. I dont know you'd get this place back to the gem it was, but we (as well as friends and neighbors) agree we're done.

This place is fantastic. We've been hearing great things about this place for about a year but never found ourselves in the neighborhood. While it's not far from my town, it's not exactly convenient either. That being said we passed it one day and the timing was ideal - we were starving. We ran in, grabbed a "Hoodie" (their signature pulled pork sandwich) and drove home to eat them. Let me tell you it was a borderline life changing experience. I grew up in the south where BBQ is king and this place dwarfed what I was used to eating. Even the corn bread was out of this world. I mentioned before that it wasn't "convenient" to go there but the food is so good we find ourselves doing takeout at least once a week.

Looked up a place near Longwood that our family and friends can stop in and grab a quick bite before we head out and found Hood's on Yelp. Once again Yelp did not steer me wrong. Although the place is a lot more tired looking than what I was expecting but the food was good. Hoodies were delicious, just as others have said. Buffalo chicken cheesesteak & everything cheesesteaks were good also. Shrimp basket was mehh, I only tasted the batter & oil. Fries are large and can be easily shared between 2 or even 3 people.

Yumville, population you. Super nice folks who know how to cook meat. Homey dining area. To the pulled pork I say this: "PIG, GET IN MY MOUTH!".

They know their pulled pork at Hoods. And judging from the length of the menu, they know how to cook just about anything. I enjoyed my omelette. But, as far as favorites go, I think it's between their burgers and pork.

Okay, I realize this is the second visit to Hood's in the past week, but I NEEDED that brisket sandwich again - alas they only make it on Saturdays - hence the smoker outside. This time we had pulled BBQ pork sandwiches. Very yummy also. This time also we ate in, instead of eating in the car - it was hot so we needed to keep the air on for the dogs. The atmosphere inside is very homey - deer heads, old fashioned stove in the corner. Service is order and seat yourself, but it is such a nice family run place - the lady even checked on us to ask if we liked our meal. My only beef (pun totally intended) is that for 2 sandwiches, an order of sweet potato fries and two drinks the bill was $23. Is this pricey or am I just cheap?
