Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Spent a few days in the Poconos with my family and we needed a good place to grab food. The restaurant was less than 10 mins away from where we were staying so why not. When we got there the back seats were full with an old group, white hair old lol so I thought they must love the food lol. The restaurant is a small, family run business. They put a few small tables together to fit all 7 of us. We ordered a pie to start off and then everyone ordered an entree... 2 orders of chicken parm platter, spinach roll and a chicken parm sandwich. The pie came out first and as soon as everyone grabbed a slice we stopped talking and stuffed our faces lol. This is seriously nyc pizza. I went a few days later and found out that the lady and her husband are from the Bronx Arthur ave, little Italy area. No wonder why the food is fantastic. The chicken parm platter was enough to split... 2 huge chicken breast with spaghetti. OMG my bf and I finished it all. Superb. The spinach roll was on point I tasted my sisters and I assumed the chicken parm was delicious also bc no one had food left at the end of the meal.

The food here was delicious. Our waitress was also incredibly friendly. It's a small place and I would recommend it to anyone, especially visitors from out of town looking for a good NY style pizza.

Reasonably priced , good quality Italian. You get a nice little salad and yummy toasted bread with the entrees. Pasta and white clam sauce was really good. BYOB is a major plus. Place was clean And decent enough to eat there although they seem to do a big take out business. I will definitely go back. Only real negative was the choice of music ( but at least they had some !). It was some kind of innocuous pop. They should have Sinatra ,Dean Martin , etc for the kind of place it is.

We found this place on Valentine's Day. Walked in about 30 minutes before closing - group of 6 and we were still welcomed with open arms!!! Great pizza!!!!!! Great service!!!! Cheryl (I don't remember her name) blond lady, was awesome! She took care of us with a friendly smile, regardless of how late it was on Valentine's Day!!! That's just amazing! Thanks to the entire staff at Mamma Maria's, you truly made our night an unforgettable one. And for that, we are extremely thankful. A must visit again!

Had grandma pizza and girls split a cheesesteak. Sandwiches definitely large enough for 2 kids. Was ok - but not exceptional, grandma pizza was disappointing - especially the texture of the crust.

Really enjoyed my dinner here. The pizza was deelish and the waitress was so friendly and efficient. Being from NY, I never thought I'd find really good pizza but happy I did at this place!

Important-- Mamma Maria's has a new address: 934 U.S. 611. Wonderful Grandma's Pizza, and terrific Garlic Knots!! And those comments are from visitors from Brooklyn, New York!!

This place is not fancy but the food is wonderful. The prices are great, so you can bring the whole family. The pizza reminds me of real NY pizza.

Great food at reasonable prices. Being originally from NJ I didn't expect to find an Italian restaurant in the Poconos that is as good as this. Food was fresh prices were good and service was great.

The BEST Italian on the mountain. The food is always delicious!! My family loves going for dinner - the house dressing is amazing, the bread is always crusty and fresh, the portions are humongous!

Best pizza I've had in the poconos. It is hidden on the northern end of 611 where it can be easily passed but it is a gem. Highly recommended. This is pizza how its done back in new york. Thankfully the owners are fron there so they know what they're doing. Sausage and pepper sandwich is great and their red sauce is excellent. Pizza is delicious and I'm not even a big pizza fan but I love this place. Back in brooklyn there aee a handful I favor and I put this in the favorite pizza place list. Trust me you'll be pleased! oh and they also have a full service restaurant attached.mouth is watering thinking about their sausage mushroom pie! Mmmmmmrrrrrrhhhh

We have also had bad service, they have seated us 2x and forgot us, and sometimes dont greet you when you come in so you are just standing there looking at them; however, the food is very good! The Pizza is like an 7-8, but the salads are awesome and huge and dinners and garlic knots are 10s! Im getting Chef salad there tonight!!! Also very clean since our area has the dirtiest Pizza places Ive ever seen this is mega important! :)

If you're from New York or New Jersey you'll enjoy Mama Maria's. The pizza is one of the best in the Poconos. The subs are great, full of meat and the bread is wonderful. The dinners taste home made, and the portions are ample.

Great pizza! Had an 18" red sauce with half pep and half mushroom. Good flavored sauce and toppings, definitely one of the better pizzas ive had in the NEPA area. I came in afterwork in uniform (Army) and they hooked me up with a discount!! Thank you so much!!

BEST PIZZA IN THE POCONOS!!! James the kid who makes the pies up front can be stressed out some nights. But man can he make an amazing pie! They have the BEST REAL Sicilian pizza. Called a "Grandma pie" there. It has a thin crust like the ones made in a long pan in Sicialy. Not the big poofy thing called Sicilian in most US Pizza joints. The pasta dinners are great! Love Veal marsala! They make nice salads with all pasta dinners too! The Phil's Special Hoagie is the BEST Italian hoagie you can find in the area.
