We enjoyed everything we had. The crab spinach dip was exceptional. We got enough to take 2 boxes home. Will definitely be back very soon.

This place is great! It's an all you can eat crab joint, why would anyone expect it to be high end?!? Awesome place to bring some beer, chill and crack some crabs!

I should have known better than to go to a place with no reviews on Yelp, but there were 10-15 cars in the parking lot so we took a chance. Big mistake. They claim to be a seafood market and restaurant, so you would think the seafood would be passable. It was not. The main draw of this place is the all-you-can eat seafood, which we passed on in favor of a seafood platter. The fish (haddock I believe) was the only good part of the meal. The shrimp had that weird been-frozen-too-long taste, the scallops were beyond rubbery with their own distinct (read putrid) flavor, and the crab cakes, jeez, don't get me started on those! My wife loves crab cakes and she couldn't even stomach more than a bite of those malodorous lumps of pure evil. Do not eat here if you like seafood. OTOH, if you like all-you-can-eat garbage, this is the place for you!

The fare is good considering your eating crabs in Pa. I have eaten here multiple times and given them multiple chances. They receive one star from me due to the complete lack of service. It doesn't matter if they are busy or not, prepare to wait for everything. Honestly some of the worst service I have ever had everytime I have gone in. Also, the restroom is literally in the main dining room, which is awkard. They are also not ADA friendly, just a observation but one could not fit a wheelchair into the dining room bathroom.

This place was such a huge disappointment. We had the all you can eat meal which includes: chicken, fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, prime rib and crab legs. I don't know where to begin because the entire meal was unpalateable other than the cream of crab soup, shrimps and chicken. The most desireable part of the meal is the prime rib and crab legs. Prime rib is NOT what you expect. Instead, it's taseless, chewy meat that's tiny and worthless. The crab legs are OLD and DRY to the point where the legs actually BEND like plastic, they don't "crack" like they should. You also get unlimited soup, in which cream of crab is the only one that had flavor. Maryland crap soup was watery with no taste and the oyster stew tasted like watered down milk. We spent just under $100 for 2 people and we felt totally ripped off. To add to the horrible experience, a couple came in 10 minutes after we did (around 7:15 p.m.) and the owner told them they were no longer serving the all you can eat. KITCHEN CLOSED AT 8:10 P.M. FOR ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!! That's too early....we will not be back. PLEASE DON'T GO AND WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED $$$!!!

We visited this restaurant for my fiances birthday. I'd been hearing good things about it. So we stopped in on a Saturday evening to check it out. First of all any AYCE establishment, especially seafood, deserves at least one go 'round. We had reservations for 8 people, which is typically preferred, even in MARCH. We sat down, and immediately gave our drink orders. We took the time to browse the menu and shorlty after gave our order. The service was pretty good. We didn't have one specific server. Everyone was working together to ensure we had everything we needed, which was a nice plus. Everyone was friendly and curteous. We recieved our drinks with cushed ice, which was unlike any restaurant I'd been to. Definatly prefer cubed ice.The iced tea that I ordered was just okay. I ordered the all you can eat special, which came with soup and a salad (and rolls). The cream of crab wasn't that great. It had small pieces of crab meat, and was not very flavorful. The salad I ordered, well, it was a salad. The AYCE special came with chicken, fries, prime rib, and shrimp. Although I didnt eat much of that, it wasn't that great. The prime rib was chewy, and the fries were warm at best. The shimp, which I thought would come out steamed with old bay, didn't come out like that at all. Probably just boiled. It was sent out with cocktail sauce. The chicken was not bad. It has a nice crunchy skin, and very moist. Aside from all that, once the crabs arrived, I had completely forgotten about the other plate. On a side note, the plate on which it was served, was much to big. Onto the actual crabs and snow crab clusters. You know, I guess for Pennsylvania, they weren't to bad. They were meaty and flavorful. I think the best part of the entire meal, which was okay, because after all, its what I had come for anyway. They certainly didn't mind continuing to serve us too! Truth be told, I don't think its my restaurant of choice, but hey, If I have a craving to crabs, not a bad destination. But definatly not for all that extra stuff. Service- A+ Food-Everything other than crabs-C, and Crabs B+ Atmosphere-B OVERALL B

Seriously?!? Do people get on yelp just to bitch and write bad reviews?? This is my, and a lot of other peoples, favorite restaurant! the service is great, the food is amazing, and it's family owned and operated.. Yea, it may be "dirty" at times.. But it's a crab shack!! Do want people sweeping around you constantly while you're eating? And sure, the French fries may have been cold.. I, for one don't go to an AYCE crab and crab leg place for the fries. A++

Went for my birthday finally. Been trying to find the time to go. My wife & I both got the AYCE. Crabs were good, shrimp also was good a few were over cooked. The steak I didn't eat but my wife said it was ok. Chicken looked good but I was there to fill up on seafood not meat. Was a little over $60 for two meals + 2 sodas

I went here one time and thought it was just okay....kind of pricey but hey it's seafood! Well for 2 of us our bill was like $90 for the all you can eat....and like I said it was JUST okay....

Disgusting! With out a doubt, the worst seafood I have ever had in my entire life. Nothing was fresh and everything was gross. I will never eat at this place again and I would not recommend it to anyone. Not only was the food terrible, the service was awful too. We had to wait too long for the server to bring us our check. I heard someone say they had the best seafood in York, more like the worst seafood in the world.

So here's the deal with Rt. 30. There are some pretty mixed reviews on Yelp - glowing and horrific. I was worried to try it because of just how bad the negative reviews are. Here's my take after my first visit tonight with my family: Firstly, this is not a "seafood place" with linen napkins and fancy fusion dishes. It is a crab shack. It's located in an old house with the original flooring. The main room is cramped, the tables are plain, and there's a fish case and freezer crammed in on top of it all. There's a larger dining room to the side that looks more spacious. We sat in the main room near the kitchen. The phone rang a lot, the waitresses were flying by our table constantly, and the floor creaked like crazy. But we came to eat crabs and eat a lot of them. There aren't many AYCE crab places in Central PA so who gives a rip about the ambiance? It was clean - including the bathrooms - and that's what matters. Secondly, IT'S A CRAB HOUSE. The menu is pretty big, but chances are you're mainly going for the AYCE crabs. I'll say this - the prime rib on my AYCE crab leg platter was a waste. Chicken? I can get that anywhere, but it was tasty. The seafood - fried and broiled shrimp was about what you'd expect at a Red Lobster or most places on the coast. Good flavor, good quality - NOT FROZEN like some of the Yelp reviews say. Nothing tasted old, microwaved, or frozen. Even the salads were fresh. BEST crab soup I've ever eaten. Crab legs - mostly really good, though we're not quite at peak season yet. My wife and I ate 12 clusters between us and only two were over-steamed and shredded easily. The rest were healthy, snapped like they should, came out in big clumps and tasted great. I didn't try the steamers but the two tables around us ordered the AYCE combo and were tearing through them like nobody's business. I got a good look - they looked healthy with pretty nice clumps of meat and a good coating of Old Bay, which tells me they were probably steamed with at least some layer of seasoning. Not a hint of any "bad" shellfish or crab, nothing "rotten" and not a whiff of the "rotten" or "ammonia" smell some of the reviews mention (maybe it was coming from outside?). Our son's broiled scallops seemed a bit chewy, but again, this is a place that lauds it's crabs and fried dishes, so IMO, chewy broiled scallops are negligible. I've had the same problem at 4-star seafood places because scallops are tough to get right, so I'll give anyone a pass on those. Our 10-year old loved the stuffed flounder and stuffed mushroom appetizer. And he's really fussy about fish. Thirdly, not a hint of the rude service people are complaining about. Both waitresses we interacted with were bubbly, helpful, and seemed to enjoy their job. The service was so good we tipped extra (and I am PICKY AS HELL about good service). Food came in a reasonable amount of time, presentation was typical crab house style, and the crab legs kept coming at a good pace. I did not get the sense at all that they were trying to stall us or rip us off with the AYCE. $35 is more than reasonable for the amount and quality of the food we got, and the same is true for the $45 AYCE combo platters I got a good look at. I *will* say this: Rt. 30's main competition is probably Jeff's Got Crabs, over in York. Jeff's had a little better quality crab legs back in January when we ate there, but it was also more expensive - AND they've cancelled their AYCE crab legs - though you can still get the AYCE steamers. So I feel pretty lucky that to only have one place in the area doing consistent AYCE crabs, we get Rt. 30. I've eaten much worse along the coast of Main and New Hampshire. I'm being so verbose because some of the bad reviews here are ridiculous and over the top. If the place was as bad as they say, they'd have already been sued, shut down by the health department, or gone out of business. We ate a LOT of food between the four of us and the place was packed - no complaints anywhere about "bad" or rotten shrimp or crab. It's also CLEAN but old - any restaurant that keeps the bathrooms as clean as Rt. 30 likely does the same in their kitchen. And no waitresses can be as content and happy as ours were while working for someone as awful as some of these reviews claim. Maybe they've changed recently, but we had a great meal with great service, in a rustic old crab shack at a reasonable price. I'm not sure what more some of these Yelpers are looking for at these prices but after eating there, the complaints seem pedantic and borne of unreasonable expectations. Recommended if you love good seafood and lots of it and don't mind getting your fingers dirty. We'll definitely be making the hour drive to eat there again.

After taking in some very mixed reviews about this place, I was hesitant to give it a try. My sister wanted crab legs, and I had heard others suggest Rt 30 Seafood before. It was a Saturday night, and the place was packed-- wall-to-wall-- with patrons. We were very grateful that we called for a reservation. They have adequate parking, but the overflow lot is loose stone (so ladies, heels may not be your best bet). This isn't a cloth napkin joint. You have a roll of paper towels on the table and a place mat menu. If it's a weekend and you don't have a reservation, you're going to wait a bit for a table. The menu is fairly priced for seafood. Three out of the four at my table got the prime rib and crab leg combo-- it was around $33 dollars. We each got three large clusters of legs, and a sizable slab of prime rib. Keep in mind, this comes with two sides, so unless you're a professional eater, you'll probably be taking some home. I didn't have a problem with the service at all. In fact, I'd say we had one of the most personable servers I've ever encountered. Then again, we treat our servers like people since a lot of my family has worked in the restaurant industry at some point in time. Our drinks were always full, our food came out in a timely fashion (despite the fact that they were on a 30-45 minute wait), and we left totally satisfied. They do offer a lot of AYCE options on the menu. I saw a lot of patrons ordering steamed crabs and during weeknights, I believe they offer different AYCE specials. All reasonably priced for what you get. I'd definitely give this place another visit.

Not happy with my 2nd trip there. The first time was great but man, was the other night bad! First, we were seated and ignored for about 10 minutes. Then the owner came over and told a family member, who is in a wheelchair, to move because the table next to us was reserved and they wouldn't be comfortable. Still no menus. Finally we ordered. The cream of crab was tasty but watery. The raw oysters and the oysters Rock were good. I got AYCE crabs and my friends got 2 dozen jumbos. The AYCE were not good but the ones my friends got were awesome. If, and that is a big if, I go back I won't get the AYCE. The bathrooms were too small and the blowers don't dry your hands very well. We had fun but I probably won't go back there and definitely won't get AYCE crabs.

Very happy there is an AYCE crab place in PA. The food is good and the staff are friendly/responsive. Remember that the seasons for crab are very specific. The crab house is an all year deal, so the crab must come from different regions and are not always as sweet as the good spots. For this, I am pleased with their quality and I intend to make this a frequent spot for my family to eat at!

This place was fantastic. We had the AYCE seafood special that included crab legs, shrimp, chicken, prime rib, and fries. The crab legs and shrimp were cooked to perfection and the service was top notch. For $35 per person the price can't be beat for this seafood feast!

WHY is there a huge seafood restaurant in the middle of the cornfields between Gettysburg and York? WHY SHOULDN'T THERE BE? HUH? You know, it wasn't life-changing or anything. But it sure was damn good to gorge myself on crab and hush puppies on a Saturday afternoon during the middle of the Gettysburg Bike Week rally. I would definitely stop, my next time through. Judging from the surrounding tables, ordering a dozen Chesapeake blue crabs is probably a stronger choice than my frozen snow crab legs. Which were perfectly good. But the people whacking blue crabs with wooden mallets seemed even happier.

This place is a diamond in the rough if you are looking for Maryland Blue Crabs in south Central Pa. My wife and I were craving blue crabs and instead of driving to Ocean City, Md we chose this place. We got the AYCE crabs w/ fries and broasted chicken, the crabs were fabulous.

Should be called "crab shack" rather than "seafood restaurant". Cream of crab soup was creamy without being thick, had enough crab, but was very bland. I had a broiled combination dinner (pick two items from a list w/salad and 1 veg). Salad was nicely presented, but nothing special. Small crab cake was broiled in a ramekin; it was OK but nothing special. Broiled scallops were large and tasty, not overcooked as they often are in other restaurants. Another diner had the AYCE steamed crabs; she was pickin' and grinnin'. I am not a fan of picking crabs. Perhaps I'll come back to try the broasted chicken.
