I just dropped in here for a before movie drink, why not ... it's right across from the theater and I had some time to kill. The place was pretty empty since it was after lunch and before dinner. I sat at the bar and ordered one of my favorite beverages; a filthy dirty GIN martini. I must say, it was around $7.00 and it was delicious. I did peek at the menu and there was a few things I would order but did not have time on this visit. Just a Gin Martini this time. Next time I will sample the menu.

Couple, well a few things this place has that I like. LONG island pitchers 1 your feeling pretty tipsy 2 your probably on your ass or face down in your own vomit. They used to have 5$ pitchers I think they may have stopped that due to over consumption. They have a really good buffalo chicken salad. Fresh big and tasty. Getting drinks take forever if they are slightly busy. I don't know if they still offer it but they do have 1/2 price apps on Sundays. I love the chicken nachos app its like 8.99 and is a massive platter of everything a macho nacho may need outta a side friend. The serving is massive and did I mention they are 1/2 price on Sundays. They also have lettuce wraps with a delicious peanut dipping sauce! BOMB. Really pricey overall but nothing horribly bad to say about them. If they do something wrong they are quick to rectify and make it better best they can.

I've had a bit of trouble with Houlihan's dinner menu, it can be hit or miss, but the apps and drinks are soliddd. Flatbreads are good too. I think this place is too overpriced, so normally when I go there, it's to drink a very tall Long Island iced tea during happy hour and then stumble across the hallway to the movie theater. I highly recommend drinking before kids movies. They're so much funnier! Service is always decent here as well, I've been coming here for close to 3 years and no one's disappointed me yet. Navigation Tip: If you're not from around here and are planning to use Yelp's directions to get yourself to Houlihan's, don't. The map location is very misleading and will take you miles out of your way. I've tried to change it but sometimes the mods just don't believe me no matter what I do. Just look up the Pittsburgh Mills mall or Cinemark 18, Houlihan's is right in the back next to the movie theater. Houlihan's gets a bad rap from a lot of people it seems, but I've learned to avoid its problem areas and I like it well enough to visit on occasion.

Lunch with my Mom. Had a great meal. I had the pot roast and she had the meatloaf. Both were delicious and hearty. We also enjoyed an electric lemonade which was refreshing while having some girl talk. The service was great and the salad I started with was fresh and very tasty.

Been here a couple times and came here before a movie right as they opened and the place had a horrible smell to it. It's like they cleaned the place with a dirty mop that the water hasn't been changed in months. My Sam Adams was fresh but 4 plus for a bottle of miller lite??? Me thinks not. Last time for me at this place.. Go elsewhere before your movie

I have always had a good experience at this Houlihan's in the Mills Mall. The fish tacos are always delish and their cheesy potato soup excellent as well.

After purchasing our movie tickets, we wondered around for a dinner option and settled on Houlihan's. The menu posted on the wall outside the door promised a few items we were interested in. There appeared to be a long row of people waiting and we put our names in and found the wait to only be about 20 minutes. They gave us the buzzer and we sat ourselves down to wait. After 30 minutes we noticed we were the only people still waiting for a seat and we returned to the counter, the hostess apologize profusely and told us that apparently our buzzer wasn't working. She told us to tell our waiter that we were owed a free dessert. We sat down and gave the menu a last confirmation on our order and waited for the waiter. He made his appearance about 5 minutes later and took our drink orders. We mentioned the free dessert and he gave us a quick 'yea yea, I know'. He returned after awhile with our drinks and we turned in our order. My husband ordered the black bean burger with Gouda cheese with the baked potato ... scratch that.... there is no baked potatoes today.... with fries. I had the fish tacos with pico rice and a cup of tortilla soup on the side. The wait for the food was a little silly. Just as I was about to get cranky over the 25 minute wait the food arrived, minus the soup. Not that I could dig in... we never got any silverware. When the waiter returned (for the first time since he took our order) we asked for silverware and water. After five minutes... we asked again. Luckily we had some finger food to keep us busy, but the first time my husband wanted to wipe his fingers on a napkin that wasn't there it started to get irritating. The couple at the next table started to joke with us about the lack of silverware that they were also experiencing and the manager overheard us. He got us the silverware and the soup. The service I can forgive. It happens. The food was decent, I wouldn't rave about it. The black bean burger didn't meet my husband's expectations since he felt that cramming several veggie types into a black bean and chickpea burger was cheating. He left the patty behind and joked it tasted undercooked, if that is possible for a veggie burger. Also, the Gouda that was ordered magically turned into cheddar from the kitchen to the table. (not sure who dropped the ball on that one since it said Gouda on the receipt) The fish tacos were good and rice was nice, the tortillas soup was mediocre. We skipped on the free dessert since we did have a movie time to get to and we were afraid it would take another 30 minutes to get it.

Note #1: Their hours are as follows... MON-THURS 11AM-11PM FRI-SAT 11AM-12AM SUN 11AM-9PM Note #2: This Houlihan's is in the Pittsburgh Mills Mall if you haven't already figured that out for yourself. The last and only other time I ate at a Houlihan's was close to four years ago at the one near Station Square, and a swell meal it was. Due to the passage of time, there'll be no review for that one just yet until I make return visit. The penultimate chapter of our Pittsburgh Mills odyssey was a late, pre-movie dinner at Houlihan's. Not being hungry enough for an appetizer, we went right for the main course. I had a nice steak salad during my last Houlihan's encounter, but couldn't find the exact one on this menu, so I went with a burger, a Creekstone Farms Black Angus Burger which I customized with gouda, mayo, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, and guacamole. The only problem I had with the burger was that it seemed a little too well-done (I prefer medium). I suppose that's how they cook all their burgers as I was not asked how I wanted my meat. Other than that, the gorgeous, toasted, pretzel-like roll it came on was a winner, and my decisions regarding my choice of fixings proved canny. In wanting to get out of the french fry rut, I went with their Loaded Baker, what Houlihan's calls a baked potato. I call it Supreme. This spud goes in my Hall of Fame. It had sour cream, butter, bacon, cheddar, sea salt! I've said before that the best baked potatoes are like ice cream sundaes; garish, decadent. Thick in the hide, plush on the inside, I might have been content to eat this with only butter, but to me that's like eating pumpkin pie without whipped cream, y'know? Why deprive thyself? Kay got a Seared Ahi Tuna Salad that was a beauty to behold. I didn't taste it, and she needs to start writing her own reviews, so... However, I did get to try her dessert, The S'mores Fondue Crock, a brilliantly decontructed update on the campfire classic. I recall getting this same dessert at the Station Square restaurant, but was even more impressed here. Station Square's version had the hot chocolate ganache (I know!) and marshmallow in packets of parchment paper (they must call it something else at Station Square, as a quick look reveals Station Square's menu to be quite different). Tarentum does it up Swiss style, giving you a pot of a marshmallow/ganache stew (ganache is on the bottom, marshmallow is on top, stir...) with fat, ripe, well-picked strawberries (!) and the greatest graham crackers ever kissed with a blowtorch, the graham crackers coming in the form of long planks that are crusted with crystalline sugar. You plunge the crackers and berries into the pot and are remunerated with ambrosial flavors and fluent consistency, the marshmallow and ganache acting as yin and yang. My dessert was the Snickers Crunch Ice Cream Dome. It's merely a scoop of ice cream with a flat bottom made of cookie crumbs, candy pieces inside the ice cream, and a caramel/chocolate sauce on top. A decent dessert it is; a mindblowingly innovative dessert it is not. Refreshing and with a little bite to it, Houlihan's may make the best fresh-squeezed lemonade as well. I ordered it at the other one in Station Square a few years ago and found that it was equally good here. Our waitress Corrinea was lovely, gracious, and on-the-ball. We had a wait a spell before being served, and to make up for it, she didn't charge us at all for beverages. Tip her well.

The family and I popped into this place expecting something special. I happened to notice that it was fairly dead for mid dinner time rush but we went ahead anyway. It was very cold inside, though admittedly we didn't ask to have that rectified. I had the spicy fritos burger and fries, my wife had a full rack of ribs and chips-n-salsa, and my daughter had mac-n-cheese and mashed potatoes. The burger was ok, the fritos were stale. Won't get it again. My fries were good. The ribs were ok but the chips were stale. The house salad with ranch was ok. My daughter, who loves mac-n-cheese, barely touched it. Maybe they were having an off night but we had a pretty lousy experience and won't be back.
