Sweet Creams is easily my favorite lunch spot in Stroudsburg and probably the Poconos at large. If you are looking for delicious food and ice cream at a reasonable price then this is place for you! Sweet Creams serves salads, soups, to die for sandwiches and of course homemade ice cream. I have tried many different items from the menu, including specials and I have never once been disappointed. Some of my favorites include the Sausalito salad, halved avocado stuffed with tuna and chicken salad over a salad, the highlander, roast beef sandwich, with tomato, peppers, Boursin and mozzarella on a baguette which has been seasoned with french onion soup (it's even better than it sounds), and finally the California BLT, BLT + avo on a toasted croissant. The ice cream is also soo good! The different combinations they have are great and their specialty sundaes are also extremely good. The staff is very attentive and the owner is always there. If you haven't been to Sweet Creams yet you are missing out big time!

Yep. Good place. Just passing through town and decided to stop based on pasted reviews. Always good to find a local, non- chain cafe. Lots of variety. Food and service were excellent. I would definitely come back.

Lots of good sandwich options that aren't your average ham & cheese. I got a Rouen which is turkey, spinach, melted brie, and apple butter on multi-grain bread. Sounds awesome but it was merely 'good'. The bread was a little tough and it was created with the lazy sandwich making technique of a big lump of turkey meat in the middle instead of laid out evenly. You always end up with tons of crust and no filler at the end. Another downer is that there are no free refills. I got duped into paying for 2x $2.50 half ice tea/half lemonades. Seriously?

I probably have eatin at sweet creams over 100 times and I have to say that I have never had a bad meal their. I remembered a couple years ago they had very irregular hours and I would go there ready to have one of their delicious sandwiches only to be heart broken because they have closed but now they have pretty standard hours of operations. I've had just about every item on the menu except their stuffed potatoes but I hear great things about them as well. The ice creams change from week to week but they'll always have vanilla and chocolate for the plain jane. The only tiff I would have with sweet creams is that their milk shakes are very filling and can be a sensation overload but I can't subtract another star for that. The space is fantastic. They have a awesome counter that goes across the room where you can sit and eat and the walls are covered with huge canvas portraits of animals. They also have outside seating for when the weather is nice. It's a small place so if it's packed your food can take a little long but it's worth the wait. Def one of the best places to eat in the poconos

Very good for ice cream, and when it comes to food, it's "good for the area" (I always hate to say that, but so often, there's just no other way to put it). There was a time when a place like Sweet Creams, with homemade ice cream and a few creative flavors (I've seen a bacon flavor at least once) really rocked my world, but somehow it's all less impressive to me that it used to be -- maybe I'm jaded? I'm afraid we've been less happy on recent visits. The vegetarian options are very heavy -- lots of gloopy cheese. Not sure if the food is locally sourced or organic. Sandwiches are definitely "Old Wave" California. Inventive? Not really, unless your standard is commonplace diner food. They come with overly salty potato chips. The salad that comes with strawberries is excellent. We've experience irritable service at times lately, too. Is it just me? I don't know. For quite a while, there was this weirdly demanding Help Wanted sign in the doorway. Fair enough. But it made Sweet Creams sound like an unhappy place, and it contributed to an off-putting experience.

This cafe is a little on the expensive side but I hear the food is worth it. We only stopped in for an ice cream.

Nice cafe on what seems to be Stroudsburg's main drag. We came in right at closing time on Sunday for some take out sammies... The waitresses were pretty much sleepwalking, which I guess is almost excusable at the end of a long shift. I had the California BLT which was pretty good, although the bacon was definitely premade, kind of a drag. My friend had a sandwich with Brie, sprouts, walnuts, and apples which was better. My other friend had a chai latte which was not milky and rich like chai lattes usually are and kind of heavy on the cinnamon. Sort of eh. His chocolate chip cookie was alright. Definitely nice, charming decor though. If you're looking for an a okay small town cafe, this is a good bet.

Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. I got ham and cheese on a croissant and boyfriend got something with apples. We also got buffalo chicken pizza as an appetizer. Everything had its own twist to it. My girlfriend got something with Brie. It was all really different with an odd mix of ingredients but all so good!

EVERYTHING is fantastic. Excellent ingredients, fun atmosphere, right downtown Stroudsburg. Great unique food. Entire family loves it! Never a bad meal or service.
(5)Kristian C.
I think the first thing I always notice when I go in is the zombie-like demeanor of the waitresses - they must really hate their jobs! It's almost uncomfortable being around them. Apart from this, the atmosphere would is cohesive and lively. As for the food and ice cream: it's average. The sandwiches are creative and sound great on paper but usually don't live up to my expectations. Sometimes I find that they were microwaved (and you can definitely tell), or looked like they were made in a rush. The soup is never consistant in quality. Sometimes it's really incredible and othertimes it's horrible. The other day I had "amazing onion" soup which only had beef broth and onions (or at least it tasted that way).
(3)Brian L.
Excellent sandwich menu! I ordered the Smoky Mountains. Smoked Turkey, smoked Gouda, bacon,l,t, roasted red pepper and onion mayo on a croissant! Also a STUFFED POTATO MENU! Their ice cream menu looked great too! I wish I could say something hilarious, but the place just rules!
(5)Patrick M.
This place is most often mistaken for JUST an Ice Cream place. Albeit, their ice cream is good, but the best part of this place is their lunch. They have some of the best sandwiches and soups I have ever had! Often times I get their daily specials too because they are so often out of this world! I highly recommend this place to any and every one!
(5)Hadrien D.
Delicious, well priced, and good service. Very good variety.
(5)Anthony P.
Sweet Creams is by far one of the best local spots in Stroudsburg. Great for ice cream if you want some on a hot day and great for lunch if you're in the mood for something light. The food here is amazing and priced right. I've always brought friends here and they end up loving it. I recommend this place to everyone. Service is great as well, the waitresses are always nice and attentive. The owner is also polite and greets each and every person.
(5)Derek S.
This might be my favorite restaurant in the Poconos, every sandwich I've had, about half the menu, is phenomenal. The service is great, the girls there are very friendly and attentive to the customers. The coffee is alright, no wawa or dunkin, but it does the job. I'm not kidding about the sandwiches, the best sandwich I've ever had was at sweet cream.
(5)D L.
Absolutely delicious with loads of vegetarian options. Not just salads either! Definitely save room for ice cream.
(5)Marjorie B.
My family and I stopped here on a road trip and found this place absolutely adorable. The ambiance was that of an old-fashioned soda shop but the menu was modern with creative vegetarian sandwiches and gluten free wraps. The servers were also very friendly well groomed.
(5)Val R.
Quaint little spot. Nice decor. Friendly staff. Cozy but busy atmosphere. Basil lemonade was very good and refreshing with tons of basil flavor. Vegetarian chili nachos were a hit with the table. Sandwiches were good & portions were decent. Chicken caesar salad was a little on the skimpy side for $11 and could have came with a small roll or something. You can create your own ice cream sandwich! Ice cream was good. Salted caramel was very good esp if you like salt.
(4)April T.
This place is hands down my favorite cafe in the united states. Every time I am back on the east coast visiting my family i make sure to come here. They don't just have great ice cream (salted caramel and sweet cream are my favorite ) but they have a great menu. The owner even changed and the place still has the same great vibe and great menu it always has i was worried it would change for the worse but they have kept everything so wonderful. It is so adorable inside and has local art on the walls. This time it was black and white photography. Sweet creams has a creative menu and if you dont like what they have you can make your own sandwich. The service is great and there is literally nothing to complain about=)
(5)Lois H.
The perfect lunch spot, or stop in just for the ice cream. They have the best sandwiches, coffees great too, I like the atmosphere. I consider Sweet Creams an iconic downtown Stroudsburg place. I've always enjoyed it!
(5)jazz g.
We absolutely love this place and thought the hot chocolate was out of this world with ice cream hidden in the center! The iced chai latte was 100x better than any Starbucks latte, this coming from an Indian!!! The lunch specials were unique and all 9 of us agreed that everything we ordered was delicious !
(5)Cassie D.
Stopped by for dessert one evening... The ice cream sandwich was amazing! And huge! The only down side is no dairy-free ice cream option (for my husband).
(4)Amanda C.
I love there ice cream! The vegetarian options are pretty good, very different and very unique.
(4)M P.
Fantastic lunches - kind of light, California fare. Hands down, the best spinach salad I've ever had. Very inventive pita pizzas and sandwiches too. Extensive menu. Nice selection of espresso and coffee drinks, and of course their homemade ice cream is terrific. A little too creamy for me, but the flavors are fun and there is a good selection, and my son loves them. His favorite is candy corn ice cream, which of course is only offered around Halloween, so we make a special trip. I also recommend the French milk, which is steamed milk with a bit of coffee and cinnamon. Really good. Sweet Creams is a small place and it gets very crowded at lunch time, and the seating is not very comfortable - tables are close together, and chairs and benches are hard wood. It would be difficult to accommodate more than 4-6 total at a table, so large groups may find this place not to their liking. Service is fast and efficient, and the interior looks like it dates back at least 100 years or so (in a good way) - it's in an historic old downtown Stroudsburg building. No kids menu, but honestly, nothing wrong with letting the kids have ice cream for lunch just for fun while you enjoy a nice grown-up meal, full of flavor, fresh, and well-made. Great place to meet up with friends for a nice lunch. Highly recommended.
(5)Duane J.
Love this place. The best brownie sundae I have ever had has came from Sweet Creams. Very nicely organized and great place to have a date or lunch. Five out of five stars for me.
(5)Jeff V.
Amazing selection of sandwiches, delicious and creative. Salads, soups, and of course the home made ice cream are all fantastic. Even the pizza was awesome. Add in great service and a quaint simple friendly atmosphere and you can't go wrong! What a great place to eat.
(5)Maria P.
This place is as adorable as it is tasty. Their iced coffee and lemonade are both equally fantastic. I had the tuna supreme and it was very good. The multi grain toast tasted amazing, and the tuna was so fresh, you could tell it was made in house, and didn't come from a can. My fiancé had the baby blue flatbread and he gobbled it up within minutes. If you're looking for a good lunch spot, look no further.
(5)Karen G.
Ok started off good but then dived. 35 minutes before we got our cold 'should have been hot' potato wedges. The tuna 'modena' was good but took forever, the chicken salad had awful chicken, can't identify if it was frozen and then steamed? Or microwaved?? Had weird dried out sides. My son had the Highlander and he liked it. This was our first try of Boursin (tasted like French onion dip). If you are on a time crunch like we were this is not the place to stop. Just had the ice cream and it was great so they are getting at least 2 stars. Bummer....
(2)Judith C.
1st timers as a group of 4. Had a cute coffee house type feel. The hot chocolate looked decadent & tasted great. We shared the potato wedges which were plated nicely. I ordered the Avacado Melt which was very flavorful & filling, almost forgot I was eating vegetarian type food! The service was okay, felt things took a little long. But overall was well worth it & next time I'm back in the Poconos will stop here again.
(4)Windy R.
Love sweet cream Cafe, cozy place, great food. Everything is yummy, but Rose Petal Ice cream is the best, I wish they make it often.
(5)Mel C.
Love!!!! love!!! I have been coming to Sweet Creams since I was like 12 years old when the previous owners had it!! The three layer fudge cake is to die for with the fudge smothering on top of ice cream a match made is dessert heaven. I go every birthday or at least try to and have cake there amazing!!! I also had a basil lemonade awesome too and amazingly refreshing!!
(5)Tom A.
One of my favorite places for lunch or lite casual dinner in Stroudsburg. Great fresh food, delicious ice cream and friendly staff helps makes this place a winner. Plus the price point is very good for what you get. Try it.
(5)Wendi C.
Whoever waited on us was extremely rude ! He seemed appalled when i did not like the flavor of the ice cream and when I asked him a question he treated me as if I should have known better ! The ice cream was disgusting!
(1)Aviva B.
Stopped by for lunch after antiquing. Really cute place! Service was lovely, interior was cozy, and the food was spot-on. 3 of us waited a few minutes and were quickly seated at a booth. My lady friends had a chicken Caesar salad and some sort of delicious sandwich. I had the Highlander and a lemonade. The Highlander was as good as it sounds/looks, and I couldn't exactly finish it. The lemonade was good and fresh but a tiny bit too sweet for me. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.
(4)Rebecca M.
Very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Staff was pleasant and efficient, and the food was of good quality with some interesting takes on old classics. I ordered a veggie Reuben on multi-grain and it was delicious. Prices were very reasonable. A very welcome addition to downtown Stroudsburg!
(4)Melanie S.
This was the second time we went to eat here and although the waitress was super nice and very friendly the sandwiches seemed like they had been cut by half. The last time we were in I had the Popeye and olive oil it was huge and I was very excited to get it this time it was half the size a noticeable and very disappointing difference. $8 for a sandwich that size was a rip off and really just about 12 chips. My husband had the beef eater and it was so sad looking microwaved beef on a roll and I really think that there was maybe two pieces of beef what a poor excuse for a sandwich. I was a huge fan after the first visit now I'm not so sure I'll come back.
(3)Badger K.
Great sandwiches/great ice creams/friendly staff/basil lemonade is my favorite!
(5)Michael T.
Stopped in a while ago. Had the Highlander. There can be only one! lol I would go more but I work in Mt. Pocono. I often use the Hungry? We Deliver site and would love it if you guys would join them So I can get your food delivered to my job. Can you make this happen. I bet I'm not the only one who feels that way.
(5)Vivian A.
First time disappointment. The chicken on a croissant sandwich was a big disappointment. For the $9.00 price tag it was over priced and under packed. To add to the sorrow that was today's lunch, the server did not possess a friendly attitude, which made today's lunch experience pretty poor. She never came back to our table and we had to flag down another waitress to get our check. Because of the waitress with the poor attitude I cannot give more than 1 star

Permit me to preface this review thusly: I love this place and have since I started coming 12 years ago. Their menu is fantastic for sandwiches. Every time I go, I wonder why people opt for the KFC across the street or McDonald's down the road. For years, the Normandy (walnuts, brie, green apples, bean sprouts, and raspberry vinaigrette over a croissant) has been my go-to meal. As inferred by the name of the establishment, they also serve ice cream. The kicker is that it's made in-house, and the roster changes often. Of course they offer the traditional flavors, but they will also come up with cake batter, rose, bacon, pumpkin, Mexican chocolate (with cinnamon), and many others. You can get some of that from Häagen-Dazs, but this is all made on-site. Free tastings are okay, too. I can't say much about the daily sandwich and drink specials aside from the fact that they're of the same caliber as the regular menu. Service? Consistently great even through changes in staff. The owner? Impeccably personable. Nothing more to be said about that. Criticisms? Like many places in the area, it isn't huge, and its reputation precedes it. You might have to wait. Some of the menu items have been altered or outright removed over the years, but that's just me pining for the past. Definitely be sure to check the hours before coming lest ye face a locked door. I was almost tempted to give this place 4 stars, but I can't in good conscience. Try it. Be converted.
(5)Nilay S.
Nice place to grab a bite - delicious variety of sandwiches and fresh ice creams too! If you are anywhere best the town if Stroudsburg.
(5)Nicole D.
AMAZING!!!!! I had the Baked Artichoke Hearts Au Gratin & Veggie Pizza! Loved them both! and def. getting food from there tomorrow! So goooood! Words can not describe. Def. would recommend to friends or anyone passing through town! If you haven't tried this hidden gem you should!
(5)Sheila G.
Great options for vegetarians and non non-vegetarians alike. Baked potatoes, sandwiches, salads, ice cream and fantastic coffee. Ambience aplenty in historic downtown building. So glad we stopped!
(5)Philip S.
A good sandwich. Lots of vegetarian options. Perhaps the best place in town.
(3)Diane B.
Stopped for lunch based on Yelp reviews and was delighted with the service and meal. Sandwiches were reasonably priced and the menu had many sandwich options. We enjoyed the chicken Waldorf croissant sandwich, the Highlander, and the chicken with sun dried tomato spread. All delicious and plentiful. Cozy small town feel.
(5)Derek B.
This is a cute little place to enjoy a nice meal. It has a small town feel with great artwork. The food is good, and the service is prompt and well done. You can't beat their unique sandwiches, and homemade ice cream. Yum!
(4)James L.
aww a tear drops from my eye... I love living in the NYC area, but I still miss Sweet Creams... I loved this place in college and it is still a sentimental place to take my love when we return... Sandwich? Try the normandy or chicken salad... Buffalo chicken pita pizza is awesome, coffee... awesome... Lattes??? SOOOO GOOOD!!! And I am talking vanilla latte..... chai latte.... blended chai which is basically a freaking chai milkshake.... I have never not had something delicious here... So cute, so fun!

We were wandering through Stroudsberg, looking for a nice place to enjoy a light late lunch. We looked into all the restaurants we saw. Nothing was particularly appealing. At the bottom of Main Street, we saw the Sweet Creams Cafe. We crossed the road, looked at the menu posted outside and decided that this place looked good. We were greeted with a big welcoming smile and offered our choice of tables. We decided to sit by the window. The decor was attractive. The lady at the next table looked to be thoroughly enjoying her meal. My wife decided to order the same dish; the vegetarian croissant sandwich. It was delicious. I ordered the daily special of empenadas with a side salad. Also delicious! We both had their french roast coffee. The waitresses were pleased to keep our cups full. Thanks. Our waitress, Liz, had a friendly manner. She was terrific! We would have loved to enjoy more of their gourmet sandwiches, salads and especially their home made ice cream, but we were too full from the wonderful dishes we ordered. I noticed, while sitting with my back to the window, that all the staff seemed to really enjoy working there. This certainly adds to the experience. We will be back.... very soon.
(5)Tina P.
Price is a little bit hifh for a sandwich store....just a little though. it is a very cutr and cozy cafe, seemed very busyd uring lunch time. both our sandwuches came fresh and was delicious. The iced coffee shake drink was phenomenal. If in downtown Stroudsburg definitely give this place a try....and save room for ice cream!!
(4)Ramon A.
Just the spot for a light dinner while transiting the Stroudsburg area. Original and tasty sandwiches and wraps. Loved the Shrimp and Roasted Corn chowder. The supersized bowl it was served in was enough for two. Attentive service and a wide selection of equally flavorful beverages, teas and ciders to suit the main dishes.
(5)Meghan M.
My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch on a recent road trip up to the Finger Lakes (from NYC.) Sweet Creams Café was charming, the staff friendly, and the food yummy! The menu was a welcome change of pace compared to the greasy, run of the mill sportsbar/pub/diner/sandwich counter fare we're usually limited to while on the road. We're glad to have taken the extra 5 minutes to get off the highway and 'discover' this adorable little spot. Prices were very reasonable and portion sizes were generous but not extreme. High marks for being extremely vegetarian-friendly while not assuming all I want to eat is rabbit food! Save room for the homemade ice cream.

*4.5 Stars* My gf and a another couple were on our way to a concert in the area and had some time to kill. There isn't much going on in Downtown E. Stroudsburg. A few shops a couple of restaurants, an Irish pub and this place. So after searching we stumbled into this place. And boy were we glad we did. It's a quaint medium sized cafe that serves food (not too fancy, mostly sandwiches), old school soda's, limited baked goods and delicious ice cream *drool*. Their sandwiches are in the $7-10 range and they have a few vegetarian options as well. The tuna sandwich I had was very good. And the sandwich (which I don't recall exactly what it was) that my gf had was good as well (I had a couple of bites). Even though their ice cream flavor options aren't as extensive as other places I have been it makes it a bit easier to narrow it down to a couple of flavors. After noticing they had ice cream sandwiches I asked if I can make my own...yes siree buddy! So my gf and I split one. The cookies they use are decent size so we did oatmeal raisin one said, pb on the other with sweet almond ice cream in the middle...drool x2... The staff is made up of teens but I must say they were friendly, attentive and on point. Their prices were reasonable as well. It's a great place to go for a quick, relaxing bite. ENJOY! =)
