Went to this place with my husband, mother and brother. We noticed all the other guestes were elderly and the decor was very old a dingy. The service was average but the food was aweful. We all got the salad bar which was a mistake. The shrimp was fishy and soggy and the salad was not the freshest I've seen. I got a pasta dish that was hardly average, and my husband got ribd. He bit into something hard and im surprised he didn't crack a tooth. The ribs were dry and tasteless. My brother also got the ribs and couldn't eat them. My mother got a cheese burger which was flavorless. None of us ate mor than 1/4th of the dish. We told the waitress and the owner took next to nothing off the bill. It was very irritating. Later that night we all ended up with stomach pains and were still sick the next morning. I wouldn't recomend this place to anyone.

Best Sunday brunch in the Poconos! Lots of variety, always quality food, fair price. Service is fast and attentive. Atmosphere is great. My only complaint is they stopped including their WONDERFUL Waldorf salad on the salad bar. Update: Visited again and, yippee, the Waldorf salad was back and delicious! Just one other critique: if they could just tweak their corned beef hash recipe. It always looks good but is just average. If you're listening, I know your chef can amp it up a notch.

Very, very good service. The food is plentiful. Don't be concerned about the decor, the service makes up the looks.

We stopped in here for dinner tonight for the first time in a while. To be honest, I'd like to give it 2 1/2 stars, but not three. "A-Ok" is a little bit higher than I wanted to give. I order their "signature" ribs and my wife had the crab cakes. She said that the crab cakes and the rice were rather bland unless you used the mustard sauce that goes with them. The ribs were basic ribs with BBQ sauce on them. They came apart pretty easily, which is one of my requirements for ribs. Nothing special or outstanding. There was a good sized gash in the seat in our booth, which, for a restaurant with fabric napkins, you'd expect a little better. I'm not sure they know how to run a salad bar. When we went up, the lettuce bowl was missing as were a couple of the other items. Their labels on the guard weren't exactly accurate either. Staff kept asking if everything was "ok." Yes, it was just that, ok. not what I'd call "good." Service was fast enough, but it just didn't seem like a really good restaurant. It seems like an average restaurant.

Don't come here for the decor...come for the food. Cheap good eats is what makes studebaker's amazing. The breakfast buffet is simple but ohhhh so good. **two dollar mimosa alert**

What a surprise - great seafood, modest but diverse salad bar. 4 meals and 4 very satisfied diners. consider reservation

This old and tired restaurant does not have a lot to offer. The food was mediocre to good and the service was slow. Their salad bar was nothing special, they just added one or two different things to a plain Jane tired old salad bar. I also didn't think that it was a tremendous value. A rack of ribs was $17 (maybe a $1 or 2 below a normal price) and chicken parmigiana dinner was $14 (maybe a $1 or 2 above a normal price). The cheapest menu item was $13 (for pasta and marinara sauce) so it may not be great for family dining. I think the yahoo rating says is succinctly.. "Meh. I've experienced better".

Stopped at Studebakers for dinner on my drive up from NYC. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was great at a reasonable price. Our waitress was very friendly, and everything we tried was pretty delicious. The lobster bisque and stuffed flounder stood out as particularly good. The group next to us had bananas foster which was made table-side. Pretty fun for a little restaurant. Worth the stop on an evening drive up from the city.

My husband and I go to Stroudsburg every few months and always stop in to Studebakers to eat a late lunch/early dinner , we have never been disappointed. This is the only salad bar I have ever felt comfortable eating from if you get my point, it is always clean, the food is fresh looking and tasting. The waitress's are always wonderful!! No matter what we order from the menu it is always delicious. LOVE this place.!!

Never again! This is an old out-dated diner with horrible service and over priced food. I would have had a better meal for less money at a fast food restaurant or a chain restaurant. Came here with family because the last time they came, it was supposedly good. Not this time! For $10 you get an all you can eat salad bar. Great, except for the salad bar is so small with a limited selection! If I am paying $10 for a salad bar, Id expect different varieties of leafy greens, some meats, vegetables....an assortment! Then we asked for a few changes to our meals (i.e. no stuffing in the stuffed flounder, no shrimp in the chicken and shrimp combo due to shellfish allergy) And they could not accomodate these requests. Not sure why. The food came out late, and was over cooked and drenched in sauces. Poor ambiance, poor food quality and poor service. This restaurant looks and feels like it was big back in the day and thats probably where it should have stayed.

I visited Studebakers for breakfast the day after my friend's wedding with a group of about 40. They don't usually serve breakfast but I think they do a breakfast buffet as a catering option. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, mini bagels, french toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, and an omlette station. They also had mini pastries set up. Everything was fantastic! I am not usually a fan of buffets but everything was hot and fresh since it was just for us. The eggs were great, not runny or "fake", and the meats were tasty. Home fries had a perfect amount of seasoning and were cooked to perfection. I would definitely return to Studebakers for breakfast if I'm in the area again, but like I said they don't seem to offer it unless you have a party. Maybe I will try their lunch or dinner next time in that case.

My husband and i go to Studebakers for the weekend buffet. I haven;t gone for any other mean so my review is for the breakfast buffet only. The food is good. I enjoy the Eggs Benedict; the English muffin gets a little overly toasty from sitting in the buffet line but its edible. They offer Mimosas and Bloody Mary's...I wish they had Bellini's but they don't. They have a salad bar, fruit bar, pastry bar, omelet station and plenty of meat. All in all we enjoy going. The brunch buffet is only $12.99 so it's work trying especially good for a hangover. The waitresses are nice and they sit you quickly. Definitely worth going on the weekend with the family.

After living in the Pocono's for 9 years I finally decided to give this place a try ... The food was very good .... The appetizers could have been better but the salad bar and entree's were delicious. I had chicken francese and my friend had steak both were delicious. The service was very friendly. The check came and the prices were really good as well! The one thing that they can improve on is the decor ... it's a bit out dated!

Awesome lunch specials and you cant beat the salad bar. I always look for a reasonable and filling salad bar because they are hard to come by anymore. Our meal consisted of the pulled pork potato skins (outstanding!!) chicken & shrimp carbonara (excellent) chicken & sausage ala vodka (great!!) Delicious dishes and all for an unbelievable price. Will be back!!

Great decor, great service, EXCELLENT food, comfy chairs, large portions especially for the kids menu even though it's a little pricey. The salad bar is free and unlimited with great selection. Cajun chicken is amazing and all dishes have generally large portions. They have a nice bar and most people here are relatively old folk. Generally quiet and nice environment. GREAT PLACE TO GO IF YOU'RE IN THE POCONOS.

Food was actually very good. Looks more like a fancy restaurant than a standard dine-in. Price is reasonable considering the quality of food. I would recommend to a friend.

We've eaten here quite a few times. Looking at the reviews, I think people are expecting too much. Think of this place as a diner striving to be a theme restaurant. It is not "fine dining", just decent eats at reasonable prices (for the Poconos). Better than boil-in-a-bag entrees at the chains up the road.

Down in the area visiting family for the holidays we decided to head into check this place out. The salad bar was great, but at $10.95 it seemed a bit pricey for what you get. We LOVED the honey butter (for the bread)! The app special was goat cheese, rsted peppers, rsted garlic, pine nuts and pitas - It was a good mix of flavors. The Lobster Bisque was very rich and tasty, but would have been better with ANY chunks of lobster in it. We all had some aspect of seafood on our plates and while the scallops were PERFECT!!!! the lobster tail from the surf and turf, and the shrimp from two of the other dishes were overdone. The crab stuffed flounder was also yummy. Another entree faux-pas was that the turf (steak) was entirely unseasoned. While I get that it came with arguably delicious sauces I still like to be able to eat the steak on its own (especially with a dish that pricey.) I greatly enjoyed the bananas foster that we all shared to top off the meal. Our server was a little forgetful in bringing the things we'd asked for and at one point disappeared for awhile right when we needed her. It felt like some of the prices were under market value and some were over, but that could just be because it is a different part of the country than I am used to. I guess while I've only given them 3 stars I could see that this could potentially be a 4 star place but won't base my review on that assumption. I'd go here again and will update if that happens.

Food and service is always good here, it has a Studebaker type Decore. The salad bar can beat any of the chainsalad bars, this one has all the peel and eat shrimp you can a lot. I had barbecue chicken and spareribs which were actually very good. I really could not get over the cost of the salad bar it was free with an entrée and I believe it was only four dollars extra if you did not have the entrée. A lot of locals come here and the prices were actually very reasonable for the amount of food that you get. We come to the Poconos maybe once or twice a month and try and stop on the way back home, a glass of wine is only four dollars and the beer and mixed drinks are just as cheap. It's not a five-star restaurant but it is one of the decent places to eat in the Poconos that is not a chain. What other thing, the coleslaw was homemade, and they had fresh mozzarella cheese balls and all the shrimp you can eat.

Came for Sunday brunch. What a mistake. Make your own omelet (the waiter makes it) was terrible. Half the Danishes that are put out taste as though they were simply unwrapped out of cellophane.

I ate here yesterday with my mom and aunt after shopping at the nearby outlets and American Candle shop. The cashier at the candle store recommended the restaurant to us. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The menu here is very extensive. There were plenty of choices that looked great. My mom enjoyed her patty melt, and I had a grilled cheese (cheddar on wonderful rye bread). The seasoned fries it came with were great. Very crispy. My aunt has a garlic allergy and they were very helpful in accomodating her. I'd return if in the area.

I went here for Sunday brunch and have to say I was disappointed with the price. It is like $12 and doesn't even include a drink. This also isn't really brunch because there is no lunch food. The waffles they had were really soggy but I enjoyed the made to order omelets. Nevertheless a pretty good option for weekend breakfast.

Stopped by the restaurant on the way to upstate NY with my family. It is indeed a great local restaurant with quite a lot of variety on the menu. The seafood choices were actually pretty good! Ribs and steaks were good too! I ordered crabcakes and it was delicious! But the portion is quite large! I would definitely go back again if I lived close by!

Studebaker's is in my top 3 list for value, and the Sunday buffet lunch is incredible -- the selection is great and so cheap! It's the place to be Sundays, for sure. The regular menu is very respectable, of the dishes I've had and my friends have had, the portions are generous and tasty. You're not going to lose weight eating here, and it's not "fine dining" -- but it's great family dining, and you are going to feel the local charm of the Poconos. If you are going for Mother's day, Father's day, make reservations. They're always packed.

I've been to Studebaker's multiple times. The food isn't that bad, but the waitressing staff was horrid. The hostess is a teenager, the manager runs around like a chicken with her head cut off. She even yelled at one of the waitresses that was being helpful nearby our table. Not something I would like to see nor listen to while i'm trying to enjoy my food. She should work on the way she represents the restaurant. Therefor. my rating is a one.
