Great place a quick bite at lunch or some prepared take out dinners, baked goods/desserts or specialty food items. Casual and nice place and friendly staff. NOT a fast food joint. Slightly upscale but recommended.

This is one of the best places I have ever eaten. The Mediterranean salad is large with chicken,tomatoes ,spinach, onions,feta etc. The salad dressing was one of the most flavorful I have ever had! We then split an apple turnover and of course it was absolutely delicious . Several locals recommended it which is always a good sign. I have 3 more days here , and I will definitely return at least one more time.

Recently, we were in the Stroudsburg area for our child's birthday. Coming from New York, I mistakenly assumed that we could pick up a birthday cake at one of the local bakeries, only to learn that every bakery in the area requires advanced notice before anything is prepared. We were quite disappointed until someone told us that the Stroudsmoor bakery should have cakes available. Walking into the shop was nice. The decor is very warm and inviting. it felt like a cozy, upscale cafe. I was happy to see cakes available, although the selection was very limited. They had only two cupcakes in the display case, and the the only cakes they had weren't exactly what we'd had in mind for our 5 year old's birthday. Nevertheless, we decided to get a cake as we had run out of options. The girl behind the counter was nice enough at first, but then seemed a bit annoyed because we were initially indecisive. After purchasing the cake, we walked out of the store and then immediately turned back (we hadn't even gotten to the car). In our haste and frustrated mindset, we'd neglected to ask about contact with nuts since our daughter has allergies. The girl we'd just spoken to looked up the cake's ingredients, and while the cake shouldn't have contained nuts, according to the list, it possibly did. Since we had just bought it and did not even leave the parking lot, I asked if we could return the cake, still in the unopened box as she'd placed it. She hesitated to answer and then another woman that I assume was her supervisor, said a refund was not possible because we had technically left the store with the cake. "Once it goes through the door.....", she said. I was so upset that now we had a cake that our entire family would not be able to enjoy, nor could we return. It had been less than a minute of time that elapsed from my purchasing it, to us leaving and going back inside of the bakery! if we had been gone for a longer time, I could understand, but I thought that was a bit unfair. We ended up going to a local supermarket and picking up a dessert. We got a real cake when we returned home. To top it off, the cake we couldn't return, was not very moist and tasted a bit stale. One slice and we threw out the rest. Never again!

Custom Cakes Take. This is primarily a bakery but they have have a nice assortment of soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch. My mission there was to order a custom chocolate cake for a friend's birthday. He had owned a very expensive bakery in Los Angles and always taught me that the best way to assess a bakery was by ordering something chocolate--cookies, pies, cakes. Chocolate is one of the most expensive ingredients. If it is good, everything else will be as well. So I ordered a custom chocolate birthday cake. It traveled with me to New York City where it was decorated with candles and served at a banquet. My friend said the cake and buttercream frosting were among the best he had ever tasted. Twenty other people lined up for slices, and there was not a crumb left on any plate. So what can I say about Stoudsmoor Inn Town -- it's a place where you can have your cake and eat it too.

I got yelled at for taking a picture of something my sister might want to order for her wedding. My sister was not with me so I needed the pic to show her. Please, it's just pastry. The people in the bakery are always miserable. Oh well, they lost our business. The people who work at the Stroudsmoor Inn are always very pleasant. The complete opposite of the people in the bakery. I never have a good experience at the bakery due to lack of customer service. The Inn is wonderful though.
