This place is a landmark restaurant in this area. The food is good, not great, but the portions are ample, as are about 90% of the diners. Honest food at honest prices. The pies are baked using the recipes of my mom's friend and neighbor, Millie Ryerson, gone but not forgotten. Sunday is packed with locals, especially after church. Enjoy the food but savor the desserts. A local treasure and they always have fried oysters on the menu. Prices are very reasonable.

The bacon saved the meal. I ordered French toast, home fries, bacon and a glass of milk. First the drinks came out. I had to pick a few fuzz balls off the surface of the milk. When the food came out the smell instantly reminded me of grilled cheese. The bread looked like it was grilled with no egg. Golden brown and crispy like I like my grilled cheese, not French toast. Thankfully the bacon was delicious it definitely saved the meal. Home fries were ok. On a side note. It is a little odd that the servers were scrubs as their tops. Thought I was getting ready to eat a meal at a nursing home. Probably won't be back. Better options closer to home.

I stopped for the first time ever today at 4:30pm Sunday. This is a very large place with lots of seating and lots of parking. I was promptly greeted and directed to my seat. This is an old school diner with no background music or television. The waitresses wear what looks like floral scrub tops. I ate the broiled haddock with sides of onion rings and mashed potatoes with gravy. I also ordered the frozen yogurt which came in only one flavor. Peach was acceptable. I washed this all down with grapefruit juice. I only came here because it was on my way back from a 5K race at Sunny Rest Resort plus we share the same name. Yelpers were not kidding about the seniors crowd especially at the late afternoon time which I was there. This was a very difficult place to find on my GPS since it didn't come up. Try googling for an alternative address on E. Hamilton Road.

Every time I've been here, I've been very happy with the food. My ABSOLUTE MOST FAVORITE item on the menu is coconut shrimp. The reason why is actually their own raspberry dipping sauce. It's just WOW. No other raspberry sauce compares... And I've tried several other places trying to imitate. I do get breakfast and other items here, though. I like them, too. My boyfriend loves this place more than I do. What prevents me from giving 5 stars is the occasional frumpy, apathetic, I-don't-wanna-be-here waitress. I totally understand not wanting to work in a 50s style truck stop diner, where dirty old men sexually harass you... but, like, you're an old lady & You know even with your attitude you''re not going to be fired so... you still choose to act like your working for slave labor?? Like, if work here is THAT BAD, don't work at all. That's all. It's not every waitress that is like this, but some just seem miserable. The "diner scene" is not "me'' but the food can be ok, like at this place.

I'm sorry but the service every time we go there is horrible & in my opinion the food isn't that great either.

I'm a big fan of old school traditional diners. I randomly stumbled upon the Snydersville Diner while traveling through the Poconos. Upon walking in, it was clear that this was a traditional old diner much like the one my grandmother worked in many years ago. It's nothing fancy. There's plenty of chrome all around. It looks like it hasn't changed one bit in the decades it's been open, yet it is clean and tidy. The food is simple but delicious. There's nothing fancy; just your standard diner fare. Everything was hot, fresh and made exactly as it should be. Diner's are about comfort food and that what you find here. The waitresses are your classic diner waitresses. They are friendly and more than happy to suggest the best items on the menu yet just gruff enough so you know that you probably don't want to mess with them. The only odd thing is that the waitresses wear what appears to be a uniform you'd find on an employee in a doctor's office. It's not a bad thing, just odd. One of the things that our waitress provided a suggestion on was dessert. Snydersville Diner is apparently well known for baking a huge variety of pies. Since we were there in the Fall, I chose a slice of pumpkin pie. The waitress told me that she suggested that I order a slice of pumpkin cream pie instead. She was right, it was delicious. Though I suspect that it would be very hard to find a pie on their menu that isn't delicious! Whether you want a delicious fresh cooked meal, yummy pie or just a step into the past, this diner is worth a visit.

You won't find a better diner around, especially around these places. Great place to get breakfast or lunch. It's a diner after all so don't expect to be getting restaurant quality food. But you will get restaurant quality service. Expect to be greeted by a smile and to have a good time. They have awesome omelettes and you won't be disappointed. Definitely recommend the place.

I eat here at least once a week. THE place to go for comfort food and pie! Portions are always large and is a great value.

This is a diner so keep that in mind... if it is a diner you are looking for a great breakfast this is the spot. I've never really eaten lunch or dinner here so I can't speak to that but the breakfast very good. The hot cakes have a great "sweet flavor" the French toast is good and the eggs and omelets are always done just right. Apparently if you are a pie lover they have a great assortment of pies, which I noticed for the first time during the visit today. The best part is that the food is never "greasy" like you would find in many diners. Again a great spot for breakfast, it's consistent and tasty. It does get busy at times so you may have a short wait from time to time but the counter is usually open if you chose that route.

Cheap, delicious food with generous portions..reminds me of a meat and three from down South ( except you only get 2 sides here)...perogies were homemade- deep fried and lusciously soft on the inside. Save room for your dessert!

The staff is super friendly with a little bit of an attitude (in a fun way). The food is great and the pie selection is extensive. This is a little local diner, but it is great! I love that they have veggie burgers and a couple of other vegetarian options, which are hard to find in small diners outside of NYC. We look forward to going to this diner whenever we are in Pennsylvania.

Nice friendly place with a wait staff that's sassy and attentive. The Menu had a good variety of the classic home style sandwiches and entrees, plus daily specials that with seasonal and healthier portions. Not a lot of choices for green salads. If they did, I would eat pie more often. Their desserts are made on the premises and out of this world. My favorites are the Boston Cream and Apple Tarts.

This is a DINER review! I only have a few things here and they are great. Hot roast beef sandwich with gravy and fab mashed potatoes.. Hot roast Chcken. The best Boston Cream , Lemon Sponge, and Pumpkin Pie. The Best. LIke homemade. Huge meal and small price. This again is a diner so it is what it is. Great food memories here. Not real big on their breakfast and I love a great breakfast out. Really good trucker coffee here. You have to doctor it up a bit but it is the best strong coffee. Fresh coffee. Great winter place.

Usually go for breakfast....reliable diner fare....but watch out for the cheap syrup they have switch to....it has no taste and ruins whatever you put it on...unfortunate since they have good pancakes! Too bad they are cutting costs at our expense!
