Ate out on the rooftop deck which was great. Loved the pickles they brought out. My wife and daughter have celiac and they have a great gf menu and were very accommoditng.

Somewhat hard to find. They have their own parking so no need searching for a spot. The ambiance is pretty cool. Casual, pool table, sports on the TVs, and on this night they were playing some older easy listening music complete with a music video on some of the TVs. It's worth noting that this place has a legit sushi bar that I now regret not trying. We started off with the fried calamari. My thoughts on fried calamari are this: I neither dislike it or like it. I will not order it, but I'll eat it of it's I'm front of me. In regards to Sarah street grill's offering, I favored it. Plus, it was a huge portion. For my entree I had one of their burgers. The burger was solid. Big, juicy and temp I requested. The fries it came with were also pretty good. It also came with coleslaw which o didn't think was that great, but my coworker did. All in all, this is a pretty good place to dine at.

I have had many good meals at Sarah Street, but we were disappointed with last night's dessert. The herb hommus appetizer was excellent. My teriyaki tuna was very good, but there was no teriyaki flavor to it. I was puzzled why it was called teriyaki tuna.. It did have a nice ginger relish on top, and It was good and I would order it again. The wife enjoyed the pasta with chicken and prosciutto. Dessert was bad. We ordered the apple bread pudding. It was burnt on top. We should have sent it back, but we decided we would eat the bottom half, but the burnt taste had traveled through the whole dessert. Mentioned it to our server whose response was, "We don't bake it, we just warm it up in the microwave. It must have been burnt before we microwaved it". Drove home with a burnt taste in my mouth.

Ok food. Don't have many other options in the area Do not come when you're hungry or in a hurry. The wait is always unbelievably long. Be ready to wait at least 30 min for a burger.
(2)Julie T.
3-1/2 stars but since you can't give a 1/2 star, I put 3. Food is very good, but the maki sushi could have more in them. Lots of choices on the menu & its one of the few places that also have entertainment. Tonight's entertainment is very good. The restaurant area should be better lit & the place could use some updating. I will definitely come back but it's not my 1st choice.

Hold on to ur spinning head David L!!!! By chill I meant dead to be specific. Yes we both agree 30 mins is a long time to wait for two burgers I wasn't expecting chef Ramsey or Wolfgang puck to prepare us an artisan burger, nor did I want mcdz style service, but yeah 30 mins was a joke. That was my experience with ur place... If ur reading this review take it for wat it is my experience/opinion. Dave don't worry where I'm coming from put the yelp app down and help that kitchen line push them plates out quicker! I sure did hit the wrong button, I was kind by giving it 1 star yelp won't give me the option for negative stars.... I'm the customer it's my point of view nothing odd about my post Dave.
(1)Donna P.
Love this place! Have never had a bad experience no matter what the party size or the type of food that was ordered.
(4)John Z.
We went on a Wednesday night, the pickle and pepper tray was a delicious surprise. We ordered the coconut chicken and potsticker appetizer. It was well prepared and tasty. I ordered the steak and my friend mike had the sushi. Both were well prepared and tasty. Great place will return
(4)Mel C.
Guess I hit a nerve surely you can't take yelp reviews when someone isn't blowing smoke up your rear but than again that may be where your head is. Glad your place is so successful David L. keep bragging and FYI my son and husband read my review and said it was on point!! Thanks for your lovely professional response :-) have a wonderful day! just a little advice you may want to stay away from negative reviews of your place you surely can't handle someone having a bad experience at your establishment! I'm over it already plenty of other places to go to relieve stress LOL minus the potato peel. Mel

I'm in the Poconos often, and I'll try my best to make Sarah Street Grill a regular stop when I am. If you're coming for entertainment purposes, you're in luck. They have live music most nights and the stage is right by the bar. Check their calendar for who's performing on any given night. If you're coming to watch football or some other sporting event, I have to say, their TV placement is spot-on. It seemed like every seat had a good view of at least one TV, and no need to crane your neck to do so. Our waitress came to us promptly and was very helpful. Sarah Street Grill has a good list of both tap and bottled beer, as well as drinks like an alcohol-infused hot chocolate that the missus loved on such a cold night. We shared an order of fried calamari and their jumbo crab sushi roll. Both were delicious, and I'd have either of them again...though I may want to sample more of the menu on a return visit.
(4)Sarah E.
Pickles are immediately brought to the table and service is swift. Just passing through! Glad we stopped here. Good bar scene and kid friendly. But could also be romantic. Husband noted that the tea comes in a beer cup so you don't look like a loser. But I originally picked it based on the name alone, to be honest; Sarah. ;)
(4)Adrienne C.
Been a patron for 13 years! Always a great meal - best sushi in the Poconos. Rented the second floor for my mothers 75th Bday party (bout 6 years ago) and THAT was fantastic!!! Always pleased!!!
(4)Dan D.
My sister suggested this place on our way back from the outlets. She talked it up like no other and I was not disappointed. French onion soup = money Spinach artichoke dip = best i have had Crab cake sandwich special = little filler, awesome choice. This place serves sushi as well. I can't wait to come visit and go try it out.

We were in Stroudsburg enjoying the town and my friend kept insisting that we go here. Well! I have to thank her for bringing us to this great place. The hamburgers (2 of us ordered burgers) were excellent and really inspired. Not your typical cheeseburger by no means and the fried were cooked perfectly, which is hard to come by these days. My friend's salad was also inspired with wonderful flavors and ingredients. Plus, before we ordered we were given a plate of fresh pickles and bread! Great way to start a meal! The staff was friendly and attentive. The place has a great barroom feel and everyone in the place (it was pretty packed on this Saturday afternoon) seemed to be having a really decent time. This place if it were in Boston and had a Sam and Diane would make the perfect Cheers! This is a place that really seems to care about flavors so I would have to call the cook a chef, which is more than you can say about other more upscale restaurants. We can't wait to go back!!!
(5)Jillian L.
Came here because the seafood was recommended by locals in the area. Great recommendation! First of all... this place confused our GPS, and is nestled in an alleyway... just know that going in, and you'll avoid our confusion. Sushi was delicious, fresh, and very interesting. There are a lot of options if you want to wander away from your usual sushi rolls. My husband was delighted with the local beers offered. We came on a Saturday night and there was a nice, busy, but not crowded, vibe.
(4)John C.
Had to wait quite a while for a waitress when we were first seated and then quite a while for our food. Nothing exotic was ordered either. Was "ok". Nothing more. Will give it another shot someday.
(2)Megan D.
Food was delicious! They accommodated all my little quirks (for instance, my meal was a shrimp based dish which would have been plated on rice, however i asked for linguine and they had no problem with switching that for me! they also let me add more vegetables without a problem). Great food, amazing drinks!
(5)Erin C.
Food decent, wings great! Wait staff was super friendly but hostess not so much. Bad day maybe? Seems like a popular spot.
(4)Wendy F.
A little disappointed that Yelp led me astray here. 3 stars to me means I ate here once, the food was decent, but would not come back again. I have not been to many places in the area, but overall the service was fairly slow and inattentive. The restaurant was not crowded which I take into account, there were only 4 tables occupied, and in the end we have to get up to track down the waitress to pay the bill. As for the food, everything was just a little too something. too salty, too greasy, overcooked. nothing unpalatable, but just did not warrant 4 stars in my opinion. on the plus side, the live music playing for downstairs was great but they have a surcharge to sit downstairs. we sat upstairs and could hear just fine.
(3)Pat S.
Does not disappoint - consistently good service, food and wine, fresh fish, sushi -just excellent. Suggestion: Maybe move your music start time up an hour ?- we had dinner at 7:30 and hung out waiting for the performer. I noticed most diners left by 8:30 on a thurs nite. We had to leave just when he started playing at 10 and seemed to me only a small bar crowd was left - unless you get a later crowd in? But we love your place anyway and it's worth the drive from NJ.
(5)Laurie W.
I have been to Sarah Street Grill around 20 times. I typically went for a light dinner, or sushi, and drinks. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Downstairs has dim lighting, a big bar with a lot of seating, tables and a stage (in case they have live music). Downstairs can also be very noisy, depending on what night of the week you're there. If you're looking for a quieter atmosphere, upstairs is a bit more classy (tablecloths, multiple 4-8 seating tables). I have tried many entrees and sandwiches on the menu. My favorites are the grilled tomato & bruschetta sandwich (very fresh on nice ciabatta bread), the southwest chicken wrap (the pico de gallo they use is very good) and the (classic) cheeseburger, of course. Cooked just how you like it - they never over/under cooked mine. I have tried many different sushi rolls and liked every one of them. My favorites include the spicy salmon maki, spicy maguro maki and the ebi maki. I always had good service here.
(4)Becca L.
Perfect. Classy bartenders, great music. If your partner says "I don't know" say "let's go!" Great music. They serve delicious food til 12 which is a super plus! Pizza is awesome and super unique, in that it isn't sweet at all!
(5)Ryan H.
We stopped in for a quick bite before going hiking. We heard the sushi was great for this area. We had three rolls: CMC which was delicious with very fresh avocado. The spicy tuna was on par with a grocery store over the counter roll. Lastly the spider roll was horrendous. My wife and I couldn't eat more than a piece each. We couldn't put our finger on it. The rice was soggy which was odd with the other two being fine. It had an odd taste which ruined it for us. We had a couple beers which were great. The service was OK, not super attentive and a bit slow...but very nice. If you're dying for sushi while visiting the Poconos, give it a try. But if you're wanting quality sushi, you'll be let down.
(3)Mark L.
A group of us where staying in the poconos for the holiday weekend! We visited this eatery twice while on vacation! The food was great. Service was impeccable! Sat on rooftop. Great atmosphere. The beer battered fries and burger where perfect comfort food! Also tried the buffalo chicken pizza! It was the right amount of spice! Japanese potato salad as a side is a must! Creamy, spicy, and delicious!

My review for dinner last night. 1)the sign! When I used my gps it told me to go down a ally to get to Sarah and if Kate didn't point out the sign that was behind is I would have missed it completely..... 2)I thought there was too many books! One for wines, one for beers, one for the sushi, and one for the regular menu (why not just put everything into one menu this way it's a tad bit more organized and well you don't feel like your going through a library) 3) For the app Spinach and artichoke dip as a appetizer with the lovely soon to be. The dip I liked but just from personal preference I thought the bread for the dip should be toasted (this way it could be scooped up better) 4) dinner: I thought was really well, I ordered tuna with a ginger pesto and teriyaki noodles tuna is tricky to cook so ordered medium rare expecting it to come out medium (which it did come out medium) Kate ordered sushi and she loved it she said it was very good but her salmon garnish smelled weird. I didn't smell it but it could be the smoked sent coming off. I will definitely be back if ever in the area again! Overall I would give a 80% out of 100%
(4)Angela M.
Great place, good food, excellent service. The bowl of peppers and pickles brought to the table was super tasty! Our party had sushi, a burger, shrimp piccata, and chicken... no complaints from anyone. We would definitely try it again, if we are ever in the area!
(4)Tom F.
Fun, comfortable, affordable casual dining, drinking & entertainment. The go-to place in the 'burg for hanging out with friends.
(5)Maurice R.
Great food and Great atmosphere. I went to a gun range in the area, asked a local where was a good spot and this is where he sent us. It happened to be that there was a parade going on in the area for St. Patty's, so we stumble in here with huge belly's and nothing but food on our mind. The food was delicious, chowed everything down on the quickness. If your in the Pocono's and want some good food, this is the spot..
(5)Kemi A.
I ordered take out from here. Not being from around the area, my GPS took me on a unwanted scenic tour before landing me in the alleyway where the restaurant resides. You can imagine my frustration as I was starving. Anyway, I ordered sushi only after a coworker (from the area) states she has has the sushi here and it's pretty good. Now I went out on a limb to order Sushi from a "non sushi" place. But I guess all my coworkers keep coming back so no one has gotten ill with dysentery, so it can't be that bad. I got the Crabby Tuna and Jumbo Lump crab roll (I actually wanted a Lobster tempura but was told they were out of that.). Also, the coconut shrimp. I wasn't too much a fan of the coconut shrimp. I surprisingly enjoyed the Crabby Tuna...I think the Jalapeno on top really made it for me and the sauce on the Lump crab was good too. So overall, no runny stomach..("hot butt" as I like to refer to it) from my meal. I enjoyed it. If you are in the area I would recommend it. They have a non sushi menu as well.

This place is honestly a hidden gem. Didn't expect the large variety of dishes on the menu either. It was me and my party of bad ass friends, we were vacating in the Poconos for the weekend to go boarding. We stopped into this bar because it was only 5mins from where we were staying. When you step In the bar it has a chill kind of vibe, a live band a full bar. Than there's a woman at the front who asks "are you dining or hanging at the bar". After you tell them that your dining they escort you up stairs where it turns into a very modern setting. I had the steak sandwich and loved it my friends had Bella burger and said that he loved it, his girl has lobster ravioli and said it was crazy. And my 2 other friends got a steak and said it was on point. The prices were descent as well especially with all that they offered. I would say drop in and get your eat on than get that bar experience and get yo drink on. Loved this place!!
(5)Cole S.
A fun dive. Good drinks. I usually only have apps. Nachos are great. French onion soup is good. Sit downstairs. It's where the action is.
(4)Luke P.
Service was good, we got the vegetarian nachos for an appetizer which was delicious. Then came the chicken cheesesteak I ordered and instead I got grilled chicken breasts cut up and served on a ciabatta roll.
(3)Derek S.
This place is awesome, and everyone knows it. The problem with that, is that it's always full, especially at night or on the weekend. The food is consistently good, pretty much anything you get here you're going to enjoy. The live music and events are enjoyable, they always have something good on TV, and the staff are usually quite pleasant. other than the longer-than - average wait, this place is a perfect destination for family, friends, and Coworkers alike.
(4)Amanda A.
Overall: For Bar 3.5 Stars, For Grill 3 Stars Not good for kids or large groups. I waver between three and four stars here. This place is a bar, which we expected. It was game night and my husband and I enjoyed several games of dominoes. Pluses: - My drink off the cocktail menu was AMAZING! I had the Just In Thyme and the juice was fresh squeezed. Perfectly balanced. - Once we got out waitress the service was pretty good. - The bar atmosphere was nice, this is a dive but the music was good and not too loud, lots of sports on, a Wii to play, very fun. Minuses: - We watched our waitress chat for a while before she made it to us. - Food was only alright. We got the wrong wing sauce and they weren't crispy. Ranch was just yuck. - My husband's vodka-cran tasted like straight juice.
(3)Neil C.
Always a great place with a wide variety of food including great sushi. Great local bands and good for a variety of all
(4)Marisa D.
Good Sushi + Bar Food - what could be better!? Really though.
(5)V F.
Sushi! Seriously, I wish for an additional stomach every time I go here. The fish is fresh and the presentation is authentic. Every so often I'll go after a steak or the quesadillas and they're always good but I find myself looking to the sushi bar. Ambiance is cool. It is a refurbished old Sears building with lots of wood paneling and Stroudsburg centric art. Really has a great local feel and they keep it fun with live music and when there is no live music TVs showing old live music performances which is a welcome change to restaurants that feel the need to force feed us sports all the time.
(5)Aguy W.
If you're traveling from NYC and are looking for a good place to drink, this is a comfortable yet upbeat pub with plenty of space and a good beer selection. The food is however a completely different story. - Strip Steak - why did I order a steak at a bar? It's my own fault, I know. Regardless, it was terrible. Even by bar standards. Clearly a long time frozen cut of poor quality meat. Chewy and tasteless. Shrimp Tempura Roll - Why did I order sushi at a bar? 1) because 85% of the other tables also did and 2) it wasn't really sushi, it was fried shrimp in rice right? You'd expect a bar to be able to fry anything. Epic fail. Overlooked, tough and tasteless. Burgers - perfectly acceptable order for a bar. Horrendous! Frozen and possibly microwave defrosted meat. Tasteless, chewy and offensive. Yes, I was offended by this burger. Fried Mozzarella - best thing at the table. Marinara sauce however was no better than watered down ketchup and oregano.
(2)Dennis S.
Never would have guessed that what looked like an Irish pub would have very tasty sushi, but that it did with an ample menu too! Very fresh and even had sake which we didn't have, but I did have the apple cinnamon martini which was very autumn like and tasty. Highly recommend. Service was good and price was fair. Would definitely go back.
(4)Blond B.
Very good food! Its one of my favorite spots in town. Great martini list ... the food is very good. The Harvest Salad is one of my favorites and the Chicken Marsala. Service is always awesome as well! The only con I have found in my many many visits there is the way they make and serve their Mimosa's for Sunday brunch is a bit weird ... they serve it in a regular orange juice glass vs. a champagne glass!
(4)Taylor L.
A great place to enjoy music along with dinner. I always enjoy myself and have a good time. Whether you sit outside in the sun on the deck or in the dining area or bar, you're guaranteed a great time. Always entertainment to enjoy.
(5)David K.
Was very quiet and empty when we walked in. Severe lack of vegetarian options. Kitchen is shared with the bar next door. Staff was nice, friendly and helpful.
(3)Richie D.
Tried their sushi. Talk about bad. All rice, very thin sushi and expensive. They must turnover their help a lot. We were there a few months ago and the waitress was training another waitress. Same thing happens this time. Guess the owner is hard to work for or something else is happening there. Their drinks were ok but both our drinks came out in 6-7 ounce glasses. Really? For $7.50-$8.50 you would think they would come out in 14-16 ounce glasses so ask before you order. Not impressed and thats why we gave them another 1 star
(1)B G.
Good service. Good food. Good atmosphere. What more do you need? I'm very picky about where I eat and I really dug the whole menu and live music.
(4)Michael T.
This place is great! Staple in stroudsburg... One of the few places left that has great live music. Food is great and very nice outdoor area. Check them out!
(5)Deborah S.
This was my first time here but it was a great first experience. I went with my boyfriend after a long day of skiing because ourt concierge recommended it. At first it looks a bit like a dive bar (especially because the outside its not lit that well), but the upstairs decor is actually quite nice. There was a lot of art on the walls and there was a local artist performing live. The service was really great here. They were very attentive to our needs and checked in several times to make sure we didn't need anything else. Before you even order they put pickles and hot peppers on the table. They were both delicious but I'm giving you fair warning that the peppers are really spicy! We started off with a French onion soup and the appetizer sampler. The French onion soup was awesome. The broth was full of flavor, the bread covered the full surface of the bowl and the cheese was broiled to the perfect gooey and crunchy point. The appetizer sampler was an assortment of fried foods (2 mozzarella "sticks", 2 coconut shrimp, 2 chicken fingers, and 5 onion rings). They were all good but nothing was particularly out of the ordinary. Then for our entrees we shared the organic free range 16 oz delmonico (ribeye) and a scallop hand roll. The streak was incredible, maybe one of the best I've ever had. I've been to very highly acclaimed steak houses in AC, NYC, Philly, and Vegas and this really could rank up with them. It was perfectly cooked medium rare with a great crust and the flavor and the fat of the meat really came out. The marinade that was used was perfect. I would not recommend getting a sauce on the streak because we got 2 on the side but felt like they took away from the natural flavor. The scallop was fresh and tender. It was served with cucumber and Japanese mayo (not spicy mayo) which made it meat, crunchy, and creamy. You could tell it wasnt sitting because the nori was still crispy. It was a great experience overall and I highly recommend it!
(5)Jessica H.
Service is terrible, food is mediocre. Staff talked behind the counter for 30mins while we needed a refill, even when the waitress dropped off the food she didn't bother to get the refill, we had to wave her down.
(1)Bob R.
40 minute ticket time on a Sunday afternoon when they are not busy AT ALL.????!? Wow
(2)Stormie P.
I visited Sarah Street Grill for a rehearsal dinner with a party of about 25. The person who coordinated the party picked out a few items that would appeal to everyone and had the restaurant create a fixed menu. Appetizers were spinach/artichoke dip, bruschetta, mozzarella wedges, and salad. Absolutely fantastic! The dip was to die for, bruschetta was very fresh, the mozarella wedges were hot and crispy, and the salad consisted of fresh spring greens and balsamic dressing. Choices of entrees were 3 different types of angus burgers w/ fries, salmon with fresh veggies and mini roasted potatoes, and chicken francaise with rice pilaf. I had the salamon and it was cooked perfectly as were the sides. My boyfriend had the Big Red Burger and said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. My parents had the chicken francaise and said that was excellent as well. Dessert was a choice of a brownie ala mode or strawberry shortcake. I had the brownie and it was pretty good. A bit too sweet for me but most people like that so don't let my opinion get in the way. The strawberry shortcake looked excellent and I heard it was just as good. No one had any problems with their food and all had a great time. The servers were attentive and friendly, as well. I would definitely return to Sarah Street Grill if I am ever in the area again.
(5)Rianda S.
I left a fair review a few months ago. I've returned to Sarah Street at least a half dozen times since and each time I've sat downstairs vs upstairs. What a difference! It seems like the service is definitely 100% better in the bar area. Every server I've had knew the menus (both food and bar), was able to provide recommendations and provide descriptions of the meal. Definitely now one of my favorites in the area. Only downfall is maybe consider getting the JV squad upstairs up to speed on their service and hospitality skills.
(4)Kat J.
Go to place when in Stroudsburg. A nice atmosphere, good food and drink, service and a fair price. Live music on weekend evenings is a bonus!
(4)Haboo Z.
I LOVE Sarah Street! My favorite eatery in the Poconos. Inexpensive and consistent. I have never had a bad meal there. You get a lot of food for the price. You will not leave hungry! Great beer and menu choices!
(5)Tina P.
This place is good...ive never had bad food for the times I have been here, the only only reason it lost 2 stars is because of the hostess saturday 6-14-14 around 5pm. Hubby and I decided to go for a super early dinner as I was craving sushi. Upon entering the two girls (I say girls because they looked very young) both sat on the stools by the hostess stand. Not one of them proceeded to get up or acknowledge us until I said for 2 people. One girl reluctantly got up continued her conversation with the other hostess, and went to sit us down. We ordered alaskan roll, rainboe roll and cajun chicken wrap which was beyond amazing with the right kick of spice. The waitress we had was good as she was able to balance her tables and have conversations. And the pickles they give you...mmmmm! Ultimately I think if you dont mind having crappy service upon entering (truly we thought it was teenagers just hanging out!) This place will do otherwise I suggest management and ownership changes the whole hostess situation!
(3)Katherine V.
Sarah St. is a great place to go if you like live, local bands, trivia nights and specials as there's always something going on. The beer, cocktail and wine selection is good and there's a nice outdoor deck on the second floor which is great when the weather is warm. It's a good place to go on a date or with a few friends, but if there is live music that night, you will not be able to hear each other talk, so plan to go earlier in the evening or sit upstairs if you want to have a conversation. Overall the place has a pretty good ambiance and is not too college-y as it's not right on Main St. and the service is usually decent, but I think the food leaves something to be desired. I've never had a bad food experience here, per se, but I've never walked away feeling like I had a great meal either.
(4)Jeffrey L.
Food was good
(4)Steve M.
We were visiting on vacation and came across this place. Awesome food, service, and atmosphere. The service was fantastic and the menu has many great options. We will be making this a stop each time we are in the area.
(5)Lauren N.
Horrible. Ate here with 4 adults 2 kids. No one was happy. Food took forever almost an hour in and didn't get food bc 'the kitchen was busy'. Nobody liked what they ordered. I ordered a focaccia steak sandwich. The meat was horrible and bread horrible. The Caramelized onions were no good but maybe that's bc I'm from NJ and I know good food. I have no idea why this place has 60 reviews and almost 5 stars. It must be hang out place bc the bar area is huge.
(1)Cathy D.
Went for dinner around 4:30pm, not too many other people in the place. Despite that fact the food did take quite a while to get to us. However it was worth the wait, I had the bacon-cheddar burger and it was really quite good. Reasonable prices too. I suspect this place is a hangout for the college kids but it was fine when we were there. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive.
(4)Nicholas C.
Once again another day of terrible service. First two experiences it was like the server forgot about us. Today didn't even have the chance to have a server. Food is good so its a shame their employees are incompetent. Won't be coming back to waste any more of my time.
(1)Vin C.
My favorite place to eat and drink in Stroudsburg. Off main street, and college kid-proof, with great food and a wide selection of local taps. If there is such a thing as a chicken wing connoisseur, I am one, and the wings here are some of the best I've had. Go with the McHale's sauce, a nice blend of hot and BBQ. Entrees are very good as well. Haven't tried the Sushi, but locals seem to love it and the sushi bar is always crowded. Great, friendly service. If you're in Stroudsburg on a ski-weekend or other adventure, this is the bar for those looking for good food, beers, cocktails, and live music while avoiding the pandemonium of main streets college bars.
(4)Kimberly D.
I was here last night with friends. Had the maki veg sushi with a side of rice. The menu stated 6 rolls, when I asked the server why there was only 4 on my plate she said the chef didn't cut them all the way. There were 2 thicker rolls and 2 thinner ones so it made sense. Needless to say they were good and tasted fresh. The server was also very attentive and even took group pictures of us. After eating we went downstairs to see George Wesley band play. Their sound was amazing. Overall a great night with great friends. Love this bar!!
(5)Kaneisha G.
I got the cheeseburger done medium. It was an unfamiliar level of authentic beefy deliciousness. I thought to myself incredulously as I bit into the juicy goodness, "Is this what a burger is supposed to taste like?!!" The fries were superb--extra crispy, as if they were double fried. I don't know what their secret is. The bowl of thick sliced pickles that come out before the meal is a nice touch as well. I can't wait to go back!

Lobster ravioli was to die for! Sauce was creamy and awesome! Nice cocktail menu and the band they had that night was really good. Would definitely go back!

This place is amazing! Great food! Great Sushi above all, and great great bartenders!!!
(5)Sarah D.
The sushi is AMAZING. I was in town from Rochester and just stumbled across Sarah's. I highly recommend the Cousin It Sushi special.... Very unique and tasty. Service was great and very friendly. Beer list and cocktails were just as good.
(5)Trish M.
I have never gotten a bad meal here, whether ot is bar food, sushi, or steak i am always satisfied. Extremely laid back atmosphere. It is always a favorite

A good tavern for outside of Jersey? Staff very considerate (even if you have a 2 year old in tow). The food was good and very family oriented on our side of building. Food was filling and well cooked and one of the few places were they really know what a Lager is and Pilsner is. They go right to it and bring a cold glass of beer. Aaaah! refreshing takes a lot out of the big menu?
(3)Amanda B.
We find ourselves here about once a week. Not always the most consistent. The avocado sashimi salad is different every time I order it but none the less tasty. Surprisingly some of the best sushi around! My profile pic was taken here! As were many of the photos in my camera roll!
(4)Samantha M.
Went in for a late lunch the other day. Very cozy/casual ambiance, great service & large beer selection. Easy to miss location, large parking lot, very close to Main Street. Hosts live entertainment, additional seating/party room upstairs
(3)Brit D.
One of the best in Stroudsburg. It's strange but they have the best sushi in Stroudsburg. Better than any of the Japanese restaurants. And their burgers are awesome.
(5)Derek B.
Their pickle and pepper free appetizer is unique, and the pickles are always delicious! The service is pretty good, and the food doesn't disappoint. It's a nice place for a casual night out. Their live bands are pretty good- can't go wrong when Christian Porter is playing.
(4)Michael T.
Great place to go on sundays to watch all the nfl games. Food is great and beer a plenty. Great place to go without the kiddy crowd. A grown up bar.
(5)Melanie V.
Love the food! The atmosphere is great and staff very friendly. The owner really goes above and beyond and is very active in his business. Great bands and entertainment too! Great location makes it easy to get to and enjoy the delish food! Burgers are great, so are salads and sushi! Fun place in the heart of downtown Stroudsburg!

I had the opportunity to check out Sarah Street Grill this past Saturday, 6/22! My duet group, "Stilettos-n-Steel" were the musical guests that night. This place is a gem! First off, the food is great. I had a California Roll and then a delicious portobello wrap with beer battered fries! Next, the staff were just awesome, truly kind and attentive to our needs. Lastly, the whole environment is truly music friendly, with a great sound guy and system. Anyway, check this place out! Well worth the experience! Love & Light, Jen StilettosNSteel.com

Great food! Sushi was fresh and delicious! My gf got the pasta which was also very good. Highly recommended
(5)John C.
The steak sandwich is to die for!! And, it takes an awful lot to achieve that rating from me: freshly baked custom roll, steak cooked as thick piece -then sliced, unique home made cheese / sauce combo, great fries and those amazing pickles and peppers that start you off.

We came by here again yesterday and had a better experience than we did the last time around. We may have got them at a bad time when we were in last, since they were just opening up after being closed down for several days because of Hurricane Sandy. In any event, our bartender was the same, and there were others working the bar, as well. The service was very good. Their set-up for NFL games is good, and we were able to get a spot where we could watch our team play. We got there just after 1:00, and the place was pretty close to filled up, so it's a good idea to get in a little early if you're looking to sit near a particular TV. If we had a place like this near Scranton/Clarks Summit, I'd come fairly regularly to check out the live music and for the NFL Ticket.
(4)Kerry M.
Went here while on vacation. Place has a cool vibe. The cocktails and food were very good. Wide variety. Not good for kids. Check schedule as they have live music and events
(4)Bob T.
Food is generally OK, however a waitress assured me they reuse the pickles and tomatoes that are given as appetizers.
(2)Billy J.
I love this place. Great food and atmosphere. This is one of those places that can really say best burger in town. The bread they use for there burgers really makes it. Spinache and artichoke dip is a great appetizer. I also love the bands. Open mic night is a good night to go. Good all around music
(4)Steve A.
Great burgers - especially the roll. The fries are six stars, if that's possible. Very nice selection on tap and also in bottles, even some specialty beers. Big fan of the pickle and pepper bucket that comes out before the meal. I would warn you, don't order anything without confirming the price. That, and they could use a few more big screen/HD TV's for a bar that promises to show all games. Definitely one of, if not the best moderately priced restaurant in Stroudsburg or East Stroudsburg.
(4)Daria F.
I have enjoyed every meal I've ordered from Sarah street. Their sushi is one of the best in the poconos! They also have live music and outdoor seating. My husband loves the burgers here as well. It is a great place to go with the family for a good meal :)
(5)Maura T.
awesome! what more could you ask for? Has great MUSIC!! Great food, sushi, vegetarian, friendly people, diverse menu, awesome seasonal cocktails, sports if that's what you're into- can't imagine needing more than this unless you're an uptight nitpicker!
(5)Kelly C.
I really like this place and often drive the 40 minutes to get here. I was seriously surprised at how good their sushi is and my father-in-law says the wings are the best in the state. It's still a sports bars with lots of televisions but they will out on your game, serve you promptly and bring you some pretty decent food and at a decent price. Enjoy!
(4)Erik A.
I was here for a group meeting with about 60 and they did a great job. The food was well done and the appetizers were good. They had goods service and really tried to take care of our group. I have also been there for lunch before and the food has always been good and consistent. I have heard they have really good sushi but have not yet had the opportunity to try it.
(4)Tim S.
Not bad, the menu is a little all over the place but the food isn't bad. Decent beer selection, and way better than most of the other bars in the area that offer standard pub grub.
(3)Plague P.
Ordered the steak sandwich, was tasteless. Waitress was very nice and allowed me to return and order something else. That hamburger was smothered in cheese and masked the taste if any. My dining partner said his dinner was tasteless as well. Despite the service, I would not go back
(2)Adrienne B.
I used to work in the area and often stopped by Sarah Street Grill after a long day at work. The service was a bit slower than I would have liked, but aside from that, I love the food and the servers are actually very nice and go out of their way to try and accommodate you. I do wish their portions were a bit larger, as for some meals the price far outweighs the amount you receive, but if you're careful about navigating the menu, you can still have a good night out without emptying the wallet.
(4)Matt H.
My wife and I have come to Sarah Street numerous times and our first couple visits were absolutely terrific, but our last few times there both the service and the food have been on a steady decline. Got to love when your server informs you that they are out of what you ordered as they are bringing out your wife's dinner. We won't be back anytime soon.
(2)Dennis H.
Sarah Street is a pretty good bar and an alright restaurant. They have a pretty extensive (second largest in town) beer selection and the food is okay, albeit a little over price. It is pretty much the only place to get decent original music in downtown Stroudsburg on a regular basis. There isn't that much variety to the types of music (most of them are "artsy" acoustic bands which all sound the same), but once a month or so something comes across the stage that breaks away from the pack. Half of the staff are awesome and the other half do their job.
(3)Steve D.
Definitely a good place to go out and eat, though it's a little pricey for the Poconos. The spinach and artichoke dip is amazing and the service is generally pretty good. The upstairs patio is nice in the summer and it's the best place in the area to watch football by far. Basically if you're in town and looking to avoid the scrum that Main Street has become on weekends (not that it isn't fun sometimes, especially Floods), this is a chiller option for a few drinks. Plus, it's locally-owned which I'd rather support than the glut of chains up in Bartonsville that everyone seems to love.
(4)N M.
Getting done at work at about 10:30 this is the only place to find good food that late! I would say stick to sandwiches, their pasta dishes leave much to be desired. Also people love their sushi, but sushi is what I know and I know theirs is NOT the freshest, sorry. But I do love their burgers and wraps. Also their fries r so yummy you don't need ketchup. Also the service is friendly. Not the hostess sadly. But 4 stars because I do love most of what they have to offer and how late they offer it. Lets face it after 11pm the Poconos are asleep.
(4)Greg D.
I came here with my fiancé based on a hotel recommendation. We tried the sushi, and it was average. Nothing special I would say. Service was a bit slow, but staff was very friendly and stopped to check on us frequently. Menu actually offers bountiful variety of comfort food items.
(3)Kim H.
We stopped by this place for the first time today. It was enjoyable and the food was good. They start you off with a bowl of homemade pickles, which was a nice and different touch. Lots of different mixed drinks to choose from. A lot of different coffees. The service, server and hostess were all great. It seems as though there is something for everyone here. We'll go back again when we are in the area.
(5)j j.
Great place and atmosphere! Where else can you get good quality sushi and upscale pub fare? A bit pricey, but very reliable. Definitely a 'go to" place. Do not confuse it with the Sarah Street cafe! :)
(4)Lee B.
Meal started off well enough - plate of pickle chunks and some beer. Had whole family there - 5 of us. Ate upstairs cause we didn't want to be right on top of the music. We ordered burgers, which were requested medium but came back well+. Waitress disappeared for long lengths of time, and when she did come by, she only retained one request at a time. Everyone was well intentioned, but it was a very mediocre joint. Live music was much better than expected! Kind of a bluesy jam thing.
(2)Susan E.
LOved it! Again me & my best friends went there for drinks & sushi & it was excellent!!!
(3)Joe O.
Excellent sushi and sandwiches. Great beer selection
(5)Anthony A.
Great place. Live music good beer selection. Outside deck for summer and for you smokers a covered outside area. Menu is good and well priced. The sushi bar puts out decent sushi. It's worth your time to move off main street and give this place a try.
(4)Laura M.
This is my favorite place to eat in the Poconos. Their veggie burger was the best I have ever eaten, and everyone else in my party enjoyed their food completely! They have great music, and friendly staff. My MIL said the Dulce de Leche cheesecake was the best she had ever eaten. I would highly recommend anyone to eat here if they have the chance.
(5)Chelsea P.
This place is a staple to the Stroudsburg area. A nice place to go when you want to get out for the night and have a decent meal. I've been here several times. Although I was reluctant to try sushi in a bar/pub atmosphere, I could not help myself. It is actually pretty good! Sarah St also has some great local bands.
(4)Shannon H.
I've been going here since it opened. I've never been disappointed. They do a great dinner and their lunch and bar options are fantastic. I've brought many out of town guests and they've never been disappointed. I would say that it's our go to lunch place when we're in town. They also have a great bar scene as well as live music.
(4)C R.
Place was smelly like stale beer. Band was ok but a cover even though we were there just to eat. Steak was like rubber, very fatty with a lot of grissle. Veggies were ok. We did not try the sushi. Did not want to chance it. Service was ok, but was a long wait between salad and entres. Guess they want you to order more drinks.
(1)Bill D.
There were two other people at the bar when I arrived and I still had to wait five minutes for the bartender to recognize me (after a few episodes of clearing my throat). She was too busy talking to the other people at the bar. I left and will make sure to never go back! What a HORRID restaurant!
(1)Chris T.
Let me start with first saying that I think I ordered the wrong things. The best part of the meal was the pickles and peppers they brought out for a pre-meal snack. The spinach dip appetizer was alright, and my cajun chicken sandwich had a great flavor, but I particularly didn't care for the bun it came out on. And the biggest reason this place didn't get 4 stars were because of the terribly soggy greasy fries. Crispy on the outside but like soup on the inside (I think I just got a bad batch though, my friend said his weren't like that). Our server was very nice and friendly. And I would give this place another go.
(3)Mohamed S.
Was in the area for a quick 3 day vacation and found this place online. A little hard to find because it's on a one way street but once we got in it was a nice place. The downstairs is a pretty normal bar setting that plays live acts. Seemed nice enough but I dined upstairs where it was a little more quiet. I had sushi my girlfriend had a steak. Both were very good. Service was attentive. There were 4 large LCD tv's in the corners of the room that play videos of various artists. I liked their whole set up. If and when I'm back in this area we'll visit again.
(4)Michael B.
Excellent sushi and beer selection. Looks like a good place to enjoy some local live music as well.
(4)Sean O.
Great beer selection, fabulous food choices from sandwiches to entrées to sushi. Staff are very attentive and sharp, never a problem!
(5)Melissa N.
WE LOVE SARAH STREET! We travel to Stroudsburg twice a year for business and we always go to Sarah Street! Because they serve a GREAT selection of pub food and sushi, everyone is happy. They also have dinners like lasagna or fish. The price is average, the service is great! They have live music and other events, so check their calandar.
(5)Courtney K.
I moved to the area over a year ago and I'm so disappointed that I haven't tried this place out sooner. Finally went here for dinner, and oh my goodness, the chicken saltimbocca was to die for! I thought about for the next two days. The service was excellent. Our waiter was beyond friendly and had us laughing every time he came by. I can't wait to go and try more entrees. I hear the burgers are delicious as well.
(5)Deirdre M.
When I first moved here, it rocked. Old green lamps leftover from the 70's, dark hardwood everywhere, a music venue in the middle, with a smoking area on one side, and a non on the other..if you wanted more elegant/intimate dining, you went upstairs. Then they broke down the walls downstairs. For a pool table. ehh...I'm sure the acoustics are GREAT. Now, it's kind of more like a sports bar..guess that's what sells in stroudsburg. The food's still a 4-5, but the atmosphere's down to a 3. Grouchiness gotten out, their bands are great, their food is delicious, and their sushi bar was great last time i was there (but that was 2 years ago). The chef from tokyo teahouse oversees it.. Wine selection is meh, but beer is great. Their long islands, on the other hand..more like strong island iced teas! whew! ok, i'll give it 4 stars, now that i remembered their long islands..
(4)Tim S.
Great food and great drinks. Bartenders and servers have always been super friendly with pretty quick service. All the usual burgers, wraps, kinda things but they also have sushi and I'd say some of the best wings in Stroudsburg.
(5)Sadie V.
Get the spinach dip, it's the best I've ever had!!! The food is so-so, but the burgers are pretty good.
(2)Tammy R.
I love this place. We have only been there for lunch but each time I am delightfully surprised. Great menu with lots of options. The last visit, I had the reuben and it was delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing. I especially like the classic rock music videos they play on the tvs.
(5)Thomas B.
Had a good time eating there for my sisters rehearsal dinner. The food is good and the staff is nice and helpful. We had some delicious chicken marsala, grilled veggies, and vodka penne, among other things. Desert was a brownie topped with ice cream and hot fudge. After the dinner was done we went downstair to the bar and proceeded to party. All the bartenders we friendly and fast.
(4)Tim H.
great place to eat in Stroudsburg! great sushi and i was suprised to habe sea urchin and quail eggs to! my friend had a wrap which he said was tasty. live music on a thursday was at a good volume and polished. i will be back.
(4)Patricia L.
Way to loud but the food was good.
(4)Cyndi V.
I went there a during the week before Labor Day with my boyfriend and we each ordered two burgers. He ordered his Med-well, mine rare. I requested a baked potato instead of french fries. When our food arrived, my boyfriend got the rare burger, and I got the med-well burger. A big disappointment, being in the restaurant business myself, I said something to my server. He replied: Well, we've been very busy. For the $9.75 I paid for the burger, I should've refused to eat it- not the way I ordered it, and on top, got charged an extra $1.00 to substitute a baked potato instead of fries. For the amount of money, I should have gotten exactly what I ordered.
(2)C T.
Great restaurant! We stopped in for burgers and had a great meal. Service was great. The server stopped by often to be sure we were ok. Moderately priced as well.
(4)Brian K.
This is probably (so I'm told,) one of the best places to eat in this part of the Poconos. The pasta dishes were quite good, and there quite a few beers on tap, including local microbrews. It's also very inexpensive, as it seems most of the restaurants in Stroudsburg are. There is also a sushi bar here, which I didn't try, and it's a venue for local bands. One of the acts coming up was called "Mingo from Big Sausage." How can you not like a place that books acts like that?
(4)Tim C.
I've had better sushi at a grocery store. Also, they charge you like 5 bucks extra for edamame and 3 bucks extra for miso soup (most sushi places offer both for free as part of the meal), the stingy jerks. My wife and I spent 45 bucks here, and I was still really hungry afterwards. Also, service was very slow, and I'm not one to be picky about service being slow. Not recommended.
