What a gem! I headed to Stroudsburg for a ski getaway with two friends, and stopped in to Yard of Ale for a Saturday night dinner. To sum it up - great burgers, great beer, great prices. Our server was knowledgable on the extensive beer selection, and extremely attentive. The music was "on-point," great mix of current alternative hits with some 90s rock jams. We will be back soon!

Great atmosphere and decor is really nice in this bar, it definitely stands out from the rest of the bars on Main st for it's looks. They have a cigar room and a game room as well which is pretty neat. Don't go there for food though that's not their specialty.

Excellent micro selection. Food is good and fairly innovative. I anticipate a return.

Yard of Ale is definitely the nicest bar in town. It's a beautiful, new place with a great interior and a big glass wall that opens up in the summer, also with outdoor seating. There are two bars, several tables and a whole downstairs section. The beer selection is great and you can choose from different draft sizes, which is perfect if you want to try a few things. I've only eaten here once and wasn't thrilled with the food, but would definitely recommend stopping by this place for a drink, especially in the spring or summer.

Had a terrific brunch here with my family on Sunday; an awesome salad and very good beef stew. Nice atmosphere. Very good service. Only minus was the bartender who didn't consider we wouldn't want to hear his loud phone conversation on the speakerphone.

Nice remodel. Pretty good beer selection. The food only so so. I had the grilled chicken salad. Pretty boring I know, but the bland cucumber dill dressing didn't help. The quesadilla appetizer was just ok. Was that steak-um? I'll be back again to try the Jerk Chicken Pork Rinds. They sound like they can be special, I hope they are.

I'm giving this place an extra star for its beer menu, which is really stellar. Food-wise, I've definitely had better. The asparagus fries definitely needed more batter, the regular fries were OK, and the cheesesteak was the worst I've ever had. It was SO dry, the cheese was minimal, the bread was cold, and the steak was like a piece of grilled rubber I ripped off my dirty hiking boots. Bleh. Oh, and you have to pay $1.00 for every additional item you'd like on your cheesesteak, burgers, and pizza -- cheese isn't included. How stupid is that?

Great craft beer selection. service was great. the dinner entrees were soso, not exactly place for a great dinner, it just had no actual memorable dish I would run back for. They should punch up the menus selection. , but great craft beer and bar food. For now...that's why I could only give it three stars

We love craft beer and this is the BEST place in the Poconos if you want good beer. Plenty of choices on tap and multiple size glasses. (don't be fooled by the size - if you figure out cost per ounce - you get more for your money with the smallest size!). They have additional choices in bottles. If you go there during happy hour they serve amazing potato chips as bar snacks - definitely worth a try. The food is fresh and a great variety. We ordered the Chicken Salad - very fresh and flavorful. The chicken panini is fabulous - order it with the sweet potato fries - too good! On warm days they open the sliding windows/wall on the front and it opens up to the sidewalk - a great feature. It is a clean place with all ages of folks and it always has a crowd. The bartenders are young and not always responsive, often talking among themselves or focusing on one customer. You need to remind them to fill your beer glass (they took away an empty beer glass and didn't ask me if I wanted another??) and to fill your water glass. They respond well - but could do better at paying attention to their customers. We keep going back - it is a great place for great beer!

Go for the beer, definitely not the food. Unless you like fried stuff, stay away. Glorified college bar.

Great atmosphere and selection of beers. Love the giant half yard glasses! Really disappointed with the adult mac & cheese pizza especially given the description - Very bland, no sauce, dry - Where was all this delicious cheese I was promised? The zeppoles for dessert however were fluffy and delicious. I would give it another try but will definitely order something else for dinner.

My family and I dropped by this place because this was the only place open. The food was a little pricey for what you get. My boys only had 3 choices from the kids menu and they didn't have all the football games which was upsetting. But overall the food was good and the employees were very professional and accommodating. I would come again.

The beer choices are good but the food was below par. Service was bad - Our waiter was over is head, took way too long and then lost our check in the system making us wait 30 more minutes than we had too. I would not recommend this place nor will I go back.

The beer selection is amazing. The bartender offered suggestions when asked and gave us a sample of four beers to taste. The staff was friendly and attentive. The interior is beautifully designed,

The service was great. Two thumbs up on the beer selections but the regular menu food I had is mediocre at best, at least what I had tried. I realize it's a pub but there are some pubs that serve up some great pub food, this was just not one of them. The caesar salads were very, very good. We started off with fried artichoke hearts with spinach dip and seafood Newburgh bites for appetizers. The fried artichoke hearts were delicious on their own, but the dip was no more than creamed spinach and not much spinach at that, very bland. Needed seasonings. The seafood was nothing more than crescent rolls wrapped around small pieces of seafood. It was too much of a "doughy" taste but the dip was very good. For my main dish, I had the Newberry's Yard Bird, which came with home made potato salad, home made mac & cheese and small piece of grilled corn on the cob. It was supposed to be soaked in buttermilk and seasoned flour for a golden coating but was not. The chicken was two pieces of leg & thigh and was too far over done, almost burnt. Bland, the flour coating was not seasoned at all. The chicken was so over cooked I hardly had any meat from the pieces as it was mostly stuck to the hard, blackened skin coating. The potato salad was home made and was very good. I would not change that at all. In fact I'd like to buy it...lol...now the mac & cheese, could have been home made? but was also very bland and seemed a "watery" consistency to the cheese sauce. I'm no professionally trained chef but i do know how make a nice rue for a cheese sauce in mac & cheese. The corn on the cob was also very good, i do love when it's grilled, it brings out the flavor and sweetness. Now, my BF had one of the the "chef's new addition" entrees. Chicken in butter & lemon sauce. He loved it and was extremely pleased with his meal. So I'm guessing there may be changes coming and they know that they need an upgrade. The place itself is very nice, cute, quaint and you can even eat outside on the sidewalk area. We happened to be there on a nice day so it was opened up from the sidewalk, very inviting, nice breeze came through even inside where we sat. Also has a game room but we did not venture in there, this time. I'm hoping to go back but not too soon.

Awesome place! The food and service were both great. We had one of the nicest and most attentive servers who definitely made it an enjoyable visit. Our appetizer and meals were all delicious even though we stopped in late at night, that didn't alter our experience.

Second time I eat here. Both times food has been good but both times service has been bad. I don't get that. Just now (3pm) the restaurant was not busy at all, yet service was bad.

Awesome place. Great, friendly service and killer craft beer selection! The atmosphere and vibe is great as well. If you are in Stroudsburg and love craft beer this is a must stop.

One of the freshest most original restaurants in Stroudsburg. A freshly crafted menu that breaks the tradition of mediocrity. A beer and cocktail menu that actually takes into account that people have discerning taste. Finally a reason to dine out regularly.

We're local and eat on main st at least twice a week and yet we've only been here once and will most likely never go back. Let's just say 6 asparagus fries for like $8??? You're not fooling us yard of ale!

The town sure has changed since I moved away. Loving all the new restaurants and the variety they bring to what used to be my small and quiet mountain town. Not too many Craft and or Micro Brew restaurants in the area so Yards of Ale gets a big kudos for brining something unique to town. My father brought me in as he wanted to have a few craft beers with my husband. We only stayed for a few drinks - no food - as we were only in town for a brief visit and had my infant son with us. The draft menu seemed reasonable and offered a nice selection. Price wise, it all seemed a little steep, and this is coming from someone who lives in the 'Big City' now. The décor is nice and inviting, and seeing a chef's table makes me want to come back and try the menu, but I don't think I will as I'm not sure how family friendly this place really is. It's nice that the have high chairs but the bathroom design does not include a changing station which is essential for a parent when dining out with a child still in diapers. Install a Koala Kare Baby Changing Station and I'll come back on my next visit.

The selection of beer is great, excellent service, nice atmosphere, but the food has been falling off. They used to serve a great asparagus fry, lightly floured and still crisp like fresh asparagus. Now they're like a giant rubbery asparagus, with a thick spongy breading around them. I've not finished my food the last few times I've been, to be honest & I used to rave about this place. I'd still go have a couple beers on a nice day, but I'm not sure I'd do lunch or dinner there anymore. It's a shame because it was nice to have a spot like that, where you could bring friends who aren't from the area and tell them not to be afraid of anything at all on the menu. Things change & I hope they change in their kitchen soon. I really liked this place up till a few months back.

Love the bar but the food menu us still trying to figure itself out. Come for the environment

  • Joe A.

They have a great beer selection, but the food is marginal and expensive. We ordered the asparagus fries appetizer which was $7 on the menu. They served five spears of asparagus fried in tempura batter and it was bland and at $1.40 a spear was ridiculous. The flounder cake sandwich was dry and flavorless. The beef stew was a generous portion but was bland as well.

My friend and I ate here the other day for lunch. Very cool, classy, right on the main street. The menu is simple but effective. There were big screen tvs, abundant seating, friendly bartenders and staff. I would really like to explore the menu more. The main draw is it being on the main street, but I was alarmed at the amount of homelessness and people just hanging around. Also, parking has always been a problem on main street in the burg, as I like to call it. Keep up the great work!

  • Jenn F.

Nice try, but not worth it. Yes, they have lots of craft brew on tap, but it's your standard craft brew selection. Nothing new or exciting. Overpriced too. $6 for a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale pint is ridiculous. Food is terrible. Husband ordered a cheese steak. They try to be fancy by branding the bread with some type of logo, but all it really does is burn the bread. And the bread has some type of herbs in it. HOW CAN YOU MESS UP A PHILLY CHEESE STEAK WHEN YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO PHILLY? I got the crab cakes. WHERE THE HECK WAS THE CRAB? All filler and gross. We left feeling like we were robbed. Overpriced beer and really bad overpriced food.

This was my first visit here, they just opened less than a month ago and we brought our kids to try it out. I will say the atmosphere was really nice as it was a beautiful day out and they had the doors to the street wide open. The service was very good, attentive from not only our waitress but the manager and others that were walking by. They have a good beer selection and a wide variety of pizzas and toppings to try if you want to create your own. We tried a couple of different pizzas and both were very good. The kids also had the mac-n-cheese and were happy with their meals as well. There is also a game room downstairs that the kids could play in while we enjoyed speaking to friends upstairs. It's a great new spot downtown and we will definitely be returning.

Great food and atmosphere. Friendly staff. After you enjoy your meal head into the cigar lounge in back and enjoy a cigar. Or if you are up to it there is a pretty nice game room downstairs. I've been here a few times since they opened and have yet to find something serious to complain about. I have eaten the pork belly sandwich a few times and love it. I have seen a few posts about it not being very good, fatty, burnt and crispy, but I would like to differ. I have not had that experience at all. The sandwich was always juicy and cooked well. Full of flavor. If you are ordering a pork belly sandwich it IS going to have fat on it. It is the same meat as bacon. If you want a lean meat try something else. I have also read that the burgers "are obviously frozen." This can't be further from the truth. I am friends with one of the cooks and I can tell you that they are NOT FROZEN. The meat comes straight from a private butcher and is never frozen. I have had a few gourmet pizzas and they are something to try. I have also sampled the asparagus fries and garlic bread and all have been excellent. It is definitely what they set out to be and that is NOT BEING A COPY of all the other places in town. The beer selection is outstanding. They have been open only a few weeks and have already altered the tap menu to offer a new variety. A lot of the brews are local and some are from other states. You will not find your typical Budweiser, Heineken, Sam Adams and Miller on tap, so the other post about 1/2 yards of Budweiser is false. If you are looking for $1 drafts, there are plenty of other bars. Not sure why you'd want to though. This is the place to be for new and unique beers you can't get anywhere in town. They look for the micro-brews from around the country to offer a NEW variety. All in all, I have yet to have a bad experience here, The wait staff and bartenders are nice and courteous. If you wander back into the cigar bar they will check on you every now and then to make sure you have everything you need. If you are undecided on a beer, they will allow a shot size sample to help you out. Highly recommend stopping in. I have eaten at every restaurant in town, and I can tell you that Newberry's Yard of Ale is here to stay. The one and only thing I can say is that the appetizers could be a bit bigger of a portion for the price (I have a big appetite). Not saying that the quality is bad. But the beer prices are fair. $10 for a 1/2 yard of a unique beer is not bad at all.

Although service was friendly.. The food was anything but good. Everything down to their soup was revolting. They do have a cool look & even have a few outdoor tables. Did not try any beers, which I'm sure they will be famous for!

PROS: I only come for the beer, which is a fantastic selection, and I want to personally commend whoever does the beer stocking. It's really the best selection in the area, and it brings a shimmer of hope to a seemingly hopless ocean of country (cutterman) music and Miller (Corn Syrup) Lite that is NEPA. The beer is the best selection in the area, however, and they fill growlers at a reasonable price. I'm happy they do not take the undercrowded-market-opportunity to overcharge for their beer, otherwise, I wouldn't go. Their lounge area downstairs is nice too, as long as there's less than 10 people down there. There's a dartboard, 2 pool tables, a touchtunes(ripoff) jukebox, and some older arcade games. CONS: The prices for the food are way above average. I've had the ahi Tuna sandwich, which was certainly not worth $20, but it wasn't bad. Their entrees rarely go under $20 though, which will always drive away the "College Student" business, which I do not know whether it's their perogative yet. When you order, you get about 12 bucks worth of food. After tip, you're paying double what your food is actually worth. NEUTRAL: The waitress who waited on us was obviously new, and was still learning the menu. I tend to go easy on wait staff, I mean cmon, it's part of the learning process. However, the rest of my party was unhappy about her efficiency.

We think it was the waiters first time on the job, didn't know much, service slow and at one point we were abandon. I had to get the manger over to get our drinks refilled. The food was sub par. I ordered the seafood newburg bites, too much dough, not much seafood. My friend ordered the chicken pizza, it was dry and seemed like it may have been frozen, too much dough. Nice place though, the quality of the food and service needs to rise up to the decor.

Nice atmosphere: but that's where it ends. If your looking for some healthier options this place isn't for you. The salad was small and overpriced. Very disappointed! After an expensive lunch out with 7 people we are hungry. I suspect that would not be the case if I had ordered a panini and fries. The table next to us ordered some higher calorie options and the portions were large.

  • Ryan H.

Overall a 4 star for the experience with that mainly coming from the service. The food was a 3. I had the chicken contadina, which was pretty good. The sauce was spicy and amazing. The chicken tasted like it was out of premade bag...a step above Applebee's. My wife had the chicken Cali salad. It was fresh overall. Avocado was not as much. But lots of bacon, a great house ranch dressing and good chicken. My daughter loved the chicken Parmesan but thought the pasta was over cooked. They have a great beer selection and great atmosphere.

My boyfriend & I have been here more than a handful of times. The first couple of times weren't bad... then the most recent was terrible. We got there midday and it wasn't busy. The waitress was an older woman & grumpy from the start. She had an attitude like she worked at a diner for the past 20 years, just mad for no reason. We ordered 2 coconut mojitos which we have ordered here previously. We both agreed that they didn't taste like they usually did. When the waitress came & asked how we liked the drinks we were polite but honest that we didn't care for the taste and would like to order a different drink.. a couple eye rolls later she brought us the drink menu. At that point I decided I'd just stick with water. The bartender came over to our table saying he had heard that we didn't like the drinks and we explained that the taste wasn't the same as previous times. That's when he proceeded to tell us that he tasted our drinks and they tasted just as they should.... Ok? We both ordered burgers. Waitress got my whole order messed up which wasn't a big problem, the problem was her constant attitude and condescending "I'm sorry's". I decide to send my food back and not have anything. After all the rudeness from the waitress and bartender I didn't want to give them my money or business. My boyfriend ate his food & we went on our way. The atmosphere of this place is nice, burgers are good when your order is made properly but I won't be going back here. Not worth it.

The social sports bar. The Yard of Ale is located right on Main Street which makes for a lot of foot traffic passing by, especially during the warm summer nights. I had stopped in for a drink before heading to a concert at the Sherman Theater and really enjoyed the atmosphere. They offered outdoor seating which was very nice and still received excellent service from the staff, coming around to make sure our drinks were filled at all times. Their drink selection is vast and offers many craft brews from the area. The three of us split an order of the BBQ Chicken, Bacon, and Cheddar pizza which came out to about $16 but was so filling I think we ended up all taking a slice home for later. The pizza was massive, covered in chunks of chicken and bacon and drizzled with some ranch dressing atop the BBQ sauce. Not too spicy (and I'm not a spicy kind of guy) just a good flavor of a light mild sauce. I'd certainly recommend a pizza option if you have a small party as they are built big and split between you will be the best value too.

Cool atmosphere and an interesting beer selection. We stopped here for a break while traveling down I-80. We were not aware that Stroudsburg is a busy, activity filled town. It was a perfect oasis after 6 hours of driving. We had burgers and beer at their open air bar. Yuengling was just $3 and I tried a peach flavored wheat beer. I would have enjoyed spending the night in town so we could keep drinking!

My boyfriend and I spent a few days in East Stroudsburg for a mini-vacation and I'm so happy that Yelp led us to Newberry's Yard of Ale. So. Much. Craft. Beer. We were in heaven. Besides having 20+ craft beers on the menu, this bar also gave you the option of 8 oz, 12 oz, or 16 oz pours. This allowed us to try a whole bunch of fun beers at ridiculously reasonable prices. We did order the build-your-own burgers one night. They were decent, nothing special, but cooked pretty well. I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu. Final Verdict: Decent food. Great service. Clean bathrooms. EXCELLENT beer selection. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

My husband and I were spending one night in the Poconos area. I researched restaurants in the area and missed this on Yelp. We stumbled across it as we walked Main Street in Stroudsburg, PA. It was a great find! I don't drink beer. I was happy they had Angry Orchard hard cider on tap. I'm a VERY picky eater. I ordered a red snapper dish that came with roasted red potatoes and broccoli. Everything was cooked perfectly! The fish came with a homemade sauce. I found out because it was so good I asked for more and they made it from scratch. My husband ordered a ribeye. He wanted rice instead of the onion rings. They were very accommodating. Both entrees came with a fresh salad. We ordered the homemade ranch dressing. I could not believe my red snapper meal was $19. Our experience, sitting outside, talking with the most friendly staff, was very very good.

Came here with a group of 10 for dinner and some beer flights. Not a great experience. We Placed our drink orders and they took forever to come out. Once several of our party finished their first drinks the others were first receiving their flights. Then the waitress took one persons salad/ dressing order and forgot the other 9 of us who ordered entrees. Then after the one person got their salad we asked if the rest of us could have our own salads. Then all the salads came out with the entrees. My salad had congealed honey balsamic dressing that was goopy and disgusting on top of a wilted heap of lettuce. My entree was the fra diavlo seafood pasta. I am the biggest fan of spicy food but this was horrifyingly spicy. I couldn't even breathe out of my mouth after eating it. Not to mention 3 of the clams/ mussels were closed shut in the dish (these are the ones that are bad and supposed to be thrown away). The dish was not even mediocre at best. This place needs a new chef and better wait staff. The one pro was one of the men who was knowledgeable about the beer.

This is a fun place. Was in town for a business trip and we decided to go out here instead of the bar at our hotel. We were happily surprised with the place. It is exactly what you want in a place to go out. They had dozens of beers available and an you can get them in many different volumes. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the game room in the basement was fantastic. Playing a game that is a knock off of Jenga with blocks that are almost the size of bricks was so much fun. I do not go to Stroudsburg often, but will be happy to return there!

Dining date: 11/29/13 for dinner. I have mixed reviews for this bar/restaurant. I give the bar 4+ stars for the fantastic beer list (30 draught beers and twice as many in bottles) and excellent decor. The restaurant only gets 2 stars. There is no quiet place to sit, the prices are a bit high, but it's the quality of the food that needs improvement. The crab cakes were full of breading, my cheese steak was steak um, not shaved prime rib, and the meat was overcooked. The pizza however was very nicely done. I also need to give kudos to our waitress. She took our order (6 patrons) without writing anything down and got it perfect!

Poor service, over priced mediocre menu. Could have done worse I suppose, but the look of the place fooled me into thinking it was a much higher calibur establishment then what I experienced.

I have to give this restaurant some props for handling a group of close to 60 people with some semblance of good service. The facility was also excellent - we were able to reserve the entire downstairs, which was a wonderful room that comfortably held our group and had a game room attached where the kids we had with us were well entertained with air hockey, pool, and more. The restaurant had three servers assigned to our group and after some initial misunderstanding about checks and things like that - we had made arrangements to have family checks when we made the reservations, but the servers weren't too excited about that idea - they got down to business and we found them friendly and responsive. They also played some games with menu items that were available, but I waited enough tables to know that they were just trying to make things easy for themselves. For the most part, the food was average. Remember that you are in a bar and you will be in pretty good shape. Burgers and pizza were excellent. Meatloaf and catfish were marginal. If you are looking for a cool place for a large group or you want some cold beers and bar food, then you will not be disappointed as long as you keep your expectations in check.

Again another sports bar on Main Street in Stroudsburg. Do we really need it? Well, this one is better than some of the others. Serving various imported beers from around the globe. I enjoy coming here on occasion and the food is pretty good. Friendly service and there is a game room downstairs for the game players. A cut above the nastier pubs on Main St. but a little pricier as well. This keeps away some of the college crowd riff-raff.

Serious LOL at the people giving this place one and two stars for its prices and for not having a changing table. I am a firm believer that everything on Yelp needs to be ranked relative to its category. And this is most certainly foremost a craft beer bar that has awesome food, thus 5 stars. S and I stumbled in here literally 10 minutes before the kitchen closed on a Wednesday night after working up an appetite house hunting for a vacation home. The staff was more than accommodating and had no gripes that we were the begrudgingly inconsiderate people who order when the kitchen staff is trying to go home. In the mean time we took a look at the very impressive beer list (both drafts and bottles). For the people saying this place is over priced, you are insane, you're paying $7 for a 16oz pour of 9 percent beer, that is cheap. Or maybe it's just because we're from areas where everything is over priced. Either way, the Southern Tier pumpking was most definitely worth it. Food came out hot and delicious, we had the garlic knots, a burger with avocado and bacon and a fancy grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. The bar itself is beautiful. It has original exposed brick and awesome exposed copper duct work and our bartender was both attentive and knowledgable. We look forward to frequenting this establishment once we have a permanent vacation home in Bushkill. $55 before tip for four pints of beer, an appetitizer, and 2 sandwiches.

My wife and I took our son here for his 21st birthday dinner and pub christening. We had a wonderful time thanks in kind to our hostess/bartendress, Jill. Jill set my son and I up with beer flights to start the evening. Let me just say that the craft beer selection is the best in town. My wife had her standard light beer as she is not much of a craft explorer. For food we started with the Mozzarella in Carozza and Seafood Newburgh Bites, both of which were delicious. My wife and I then split a Neopolitan Pizza and my son had the Blackened Catfish Sandwich, all of which were done to perfection. This place could well become our several times a year hangout. I would reccomend Newberry's Yard of Ale to all.

Horrible experience when attending this restaurant for food the waitress was rude and didn't even refill our waters the entire time the pizza and appetizers were mediocre at best and when my main entree came the chicken in it was COMPLETELY RAW no joke. And after I pointed it out the waitress was hardly apologetic at all and I had to ask for it to be removed from my bill and I'm talking RAW RAW I'm not picky about my food but this was unacceptable I'll give it a one star just to be a good sport...

I stopped in during my recent visit to Stroudsburg this past Thanksgiving weekend. A local at Rudy's recommended it. I liked the looks of it from the large picture windows on the street. its a spacious red brick interior with warm lighting & ambience. I mmediately spied the back bar & decided to head back there as they typically offer a bit more genuine company. Tne Bartender greeted me immediateky and was very personable & relaxed. Servuce was polite & efficient. She was.quick to offer beer suggestions & provided a few tastings which was great. I had several brief pleasantv conversations with her & the other Bartender. I did not order any food but thexselection looked varied, innovative & delicious. I definitely would recommend this to anyone travelling in the area & want to relax in a warm friendly relaxed environment with great service!

I was excited to come here on my way back to New York from the Poconos with my bf.We stopped over for some food and refreshment. At first I liked this place, laid back atmosphere and a good selection of beers. We got the spinach artichoke appetizer which turned out to be a rip off because they literally give you 8 tiny pieces to eat. The chicken was good with the mac and cheese and potato salad, I even like the southern gravy that comes with it. However, I was not happy with the poor service. I ordered a beer when the waiter served our entree and he still didn't give me the beer by the time we finished eating. So we asked another waitress for the check because our waiter was no where to be found. Made sure the beer that never came was not on our check then left. The food was good, but not great. The service sucks and we were not the only one that thought so because there was a couple that came in and left after waiting to order and no one came to check on them. It wasn't even busy because if it was I would understand the delay. I guess if you just want a drink sit by the bar , but if your going to eat expect to wait.

Ok, I'll be honest, I really didn't expect to find this type of place in Stroudsburg. I love craft beer and almost died of excitement when I stumbled into this bar. The beer selection is incredible and it is awesome that they sell their drafts in 4 different sizes (8 oz, 13 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, PLUS beer flights!). I was over the moon when I saw Founder's Repute there. Their sandwiches are great too! I shared a burger and an aristocrat; the burger was solid (and it was branded!), the aristocrat had a lot of flavor and the ciabatta roll was fluffy and light. What was strange was that their french fries were delicious, but the sweet potato fries tasted smokey and burnt. This is not the type of place to order an entree, they do bar food well! I came in during the day to scope it out. Customer service was much more congenial during the day. Our night bartender had an inflated ego attitude and it really turned me off. However, he was attentive and I never went more than a minute without my glass being full, I just didn't enjoy the drinks being served with a side of sass. Also, I found the prices fair. Please keep in mind craft beer is often double to triple the alcohol content of a Bud. The prices were roughly half what they are in Jersey. I know I know, "go back to Jersey"...already made it safely back to the garden state ;)
