I havent lived in PA in 5 years, and I dream of the Bagels at Bagel Lovers. Everytime I go back (not often enough) I get some! I LOVE there day olds for a dollar. Their bagels are soft yet chewy and are great plain untoasted! They have really good sandwiches too! and thier sweets are pretty yummy, my fav being the bagel bites (cinn-rasin bagel bite with sweet creamy cream cheese frosting) I'm drooling just htinking about it. this place tends to be inconsistent in regards to customer service and preparation. the cream cheese is watered down and runny, and sometimes you only get the thinnest layer on your bagel - hardly worth what you pay for. the bagels themselves are on the airy side, not as dense or flavorful as other places outside of central PA, but serviceable enough if you need a dry tasteless mass rotting in your gut all morning.

Yet again, here's a place I'd like to give more stars to but there are just too many problems to allow it. Taste-wise, the bagels aren't bad. The girl at the counter in the mornings is so cheerful and keeps the line of customers moving. But those just aren't enough to warrant 3 stars. There are 2 issues that, to me, ring the death knell of a bagel shop. First of all, when I buy a bagel for breakfast, with a sweet cream cheese, I DO NOT want any residual garlic or onion flavor on it. There should be separate cutting boards and knives used for savory and sweet bagels. Secondly, when I pay for cream cheese on my bagel, I WANT CREAM CHEESE ON MY BAGEL. I don't want a whisper of cream cheese. I don't want cream cheese on half the bagel. I don't want a plop of cream cheese in the middle of the bagel. I want a reasonable amount of cream cheese spread evenly over both halves of the bagel. I mean, how hard can that be? You slice, you spread, you wrap. Done. Sorry, Bagel Lovers - I do love bagels, but your shop? Not so much.

JUST AWFUL! This place has terrible customer service for their catering. Our bosses graciously got us a breakfast spread for Administrative Professionals Day. The two women who brought and later picked up the supplies from our office were complete jerks. Both times, they actually were swearing out loud stating how we were idiots, they didn't have time for this, all with expletives just flying out of their mouths. They didn't even care that employees of our office could hear them. They are so unprofessional that I will never recommend this place for catering for anyone. They don't deserve a dime of people's money with that poor attitude. The food was pretty good, but the attitudes that we encountered ruined anything positive about this experience.

I was just there @ 3:05. The cashier was on hold on the telphone (no talking); he didn't even acknowlege that I was there(he could have said he would be right with me). The girl working started to mop the floor and totally ignored me. Needless to say, I left. I had to put 1 star because it would not allow me to leave it blank.

I always try to give this place a 2nd, 3rd, 4th shot. I always ask for my bagel double toasted, it comes out less than once toasted, every time. The cream cheese always tastes sour and like it's bad. and they are slower than snails, 5 plus minutes for my bagel that wasnt even toasted and 3 people behind the counter. hmmm.

Just pass, don't go here any more until you notice a genuine change in attitude I don't know what's wrong with the attitude!!!! This guy has behind the counter, and he looks like the owner, he is most likely the son.of the owner. He really thinks that we bother him when we come to his establishment to spend our money, I think that he wants us to just hand him the money from the door and leave or something. It takes more than good food to win in customers, they say attitude; it can make you or break you.

10/10/2012 update today while waiting in a longer line some kid came in and talked to an employee working. She then proceded to leave from behind the counter AND TAKE THEIR ORDER WHILE THEY WERE IN THE BACK OF THE LINE! This is totally unacceptable. 1 star and I'm never going there again. Learn how to take care of your customers!!!

OK - All this talk about bagels is getting me hungry!!! Bagel Lovers has good bagels and a decent cream cheese selection. There's at least 12 different kinds of bagels including, if my memory serves correctly: Plain, Poppy, Onion, Sesame, Cinnamon Raisin, Blueberry, Jalapeno (with or without cheese, I forget), Everything, Egg, Whole Wheat / Grain, Pumpernickel and I want to say Asiago Cheese but having a brain cramp. They used to do a special bagel of the week and I was bummed that I didn't go in for the Pumpkin bagel. The texture and size of the bagel is pretty decent being chewy but still soft. There is also a good selection of regular and reduced calorie spreads like the typical veggie, onion, salmon spreads as well as butter. They always have sweet treats up front by the register that always tempt me but I have not yet succombed. The staff there is pretty nice and I give it three stars despite the fact that they only serve Maxwell House coffee and I definitely need the stronger stuff.

I don't know what the policy is at other locations, but as of today I will no longer be a customer at the Strawberry Square site. This morning I ordered a bagel with the intention of eating in the cafe, but was told by the manager that my only choice was to place an order "to go" because horror of horrors, I entered the establishment carrying a Starbucks cup with a frappucino that I'd purchased upstairs!!! He claims the owner does not allow any Starbucks cups inside the cafe. I promptly told him that it was too bad for them, and immediately cancelled my order. I don't know about anyone else, but I feel that if I spend my money at a cafe or restaurant, then I have the right to sit down and eat at that restaurant no matter what the hell I bring in with me!! What's next, is this jerk going to start banning people from eating at his precious cafe because they're wearing shirts for the "wrong" football team?? Where does this sort of thing end? Are Dunkin' Donuts cups taboo as well? How about customer purchases from the Dress Barn? Just wondering. I feel this policy is totally inappropriate and is borderline discrimination and I will be filing a complaint with the Strawberry Square management first thing Monday morning.
