PJ Harrigan's has two main areas. The bar area is the area that you enter when you come through the main doors from the corner of the Ramada. The bar area has seating for dining surrounding the bar and a room for more dining just off the bar. The main dining room is located if you walk through the bar area and continue on down the side hall. The dining area is a nice area for families or large parties to sit. Both the dining room and the bar have the same menu available. There is a lot of memorabilia from sports to celebrities throughout the restaurant and I think my favorite is the one of John F Kennedy in the bar area. The bar's clientelle can vary night to night from locals, construction workers, and guests staying at the hotel. During the weekdays the bar can get very busy during happy hour if there are any conferences occurring at the hotel. During happy hour the appetizers on the menu are $5 which is a very good price and the drink prices will be 20-50% off depending upon what is spun on there wheel (except Tuesday and Thursday the drinks are 50% off). The bartenders are very friendly and make wonderful drinks. I enjoy the many different sandwiches that are on the menu from turkey club, reuben, french dip panini, and burgers. They have also added super oversized sandwiches and I always end up taking half home for my lunch the next day. They no longer have the salad bar available for dinner though. Overall I find the place very friendly and the food very good.

Nice food, a good salad bar and the drinks are great! Always have happy hour with discount on drinks and appetizers! The staff is nice and helpful.

Extremely poor slow service, very mediocre food and lousy management. It was definitely not worth the 2 hour wait for one appetizer and one entree.

Went for a meal before the comedy show. Up to getting our salads everything was great, then it changed to like we weren't there anymore. It took a long time for our meals to come out and no one offered to refill my water until the meal came. It was 10 minutes after we both finished our meals before anyone even came to check how the meal was, which I rate a 3 out of 10 ( grilled sirloin tips , medium). I guess they weren't too worried about us paying for our meal either since the check sat at the end of the table for quite awhile before a different staff member picked it up. My first time there and not on my top choices on a "where do want to go tonight" list.

The service was nothing great. The food was mediocre as well. I got the fish and chips. The tartar sauce was really mayo-y. The salad bar was nice, though. I don't think I will come here again when there are better places to go at a similar price.

First time in State College, so a Penn State staff member brought me here for a "good burger." That being said, you can guess what I ordered. ;) I ordered the P. J. Harrigan's Burger, and coming from L.A., I was very happy that it came with TWO extra toppings and a choice from a variety of cheese! It really became a "make-your-own-burger" with that option. I had my burger with mushrooms, sautéed onions, and swiss cheese. My burger came with a side of fries, and as a fry feind seeking my favorite food in the middle of the night, I was more than pleased. The perfect amount of crispy, thin, and thick. Delish! Now if only there was a PJ Harrigan's on the west coast... X)

My BF and I came for happy hour, 40% off all drinks seemed too good to be true and it was. The place was dead when we walked in, there was no hostess but also no sign that said "seat yourself." But after a minute of being stared at we took a seat at a table. We ordered Long Island Ice Teas but somehow ended up with cranberry and something or other. I would understand a mess up if they were busy but there was literally 4 other people here other than us. After the lack of alcohol and wrong drink, my BF orders another drink. He orders a mojito and it was weak and watered down. The service was great don't get me wrong, but the bartender/kitchen was awful. Not to mention the manager is sitting at the bar talking to employees not asking patrons how their food is. After 2 poor drinks and then some mediocre appetizers we got our check and left. Not to mention the KITCHEN STAFF came out to converse with the servers and bartender. I've NEVER in my life seen kitchen staff out hanging out at the bar. Save time and money. Go somewhere else!

I went to this restaurant because it is in the hotel I am staying in. The special for the night was $0.50 wings. The service was slow and sporadic. The wings were flavorful but half were extremely overcooked and dry while the other half were cooked perfectly.
