Awesome service. Went there on Sunday and tried the pear salad and pizza. They were good!!! The food items are also reasonably priced. Will go back again soon!!

I have visited several times. The owner is literally insane. Do not go here if you want to be treated with respect as a customer.

A lot of people give this place a bad review. It's true, their pizza is not good but my review is based on their environment and their drinks. I love their drink menu. During my last semester (that lazy semester), I came here every week in the middle of the week to just sit outside and grab a drink or two. It's a relaxing environment.

Unless you are either dressing like you belong in the red light district or you are a worker in the red light district, don't expect service. These people know how to handle a rush about as well as the first service in Hell's Kitchen. From what I've seen the food is disgusting and the managers apathetic. You're in the heart of state college, try somewhere else.

Slow service, took forever for drinks, the food is mediocre. The best thing here is the restrooms

I am only giving this establishment one star because it won't let me give it zero. I used to enjoy going to Inferno because the food is good and the atmosphere is relaxing but after my most recent visit I can assure you that I will NEVER return to Inferno again. One of the bartenders was unjustly fired in the most unprofessional manner. The owner shouted at the bartender and threw her belongings into the street. I refuse to support any business that treats its employees so horribly.

PRO: -Cheap drinks (Try the everyday Cap't Morgan special, ha) -Food is pretty good, nothing exceptional though -Right in downtown so I can start here and make my way right over to the rest of ratchet State College -Cute & intimate spot, can be good for a big group, or a date -Are willing to split the bill at the end of the night if you have a group of ple CON: -Waiters (girls esp.) tend to be really rude and suck at attending to your table -They will get annoyed when you don't tip, sorry chica had you not been rude all night I would have given you much more ;) -Food is small compared to the price you pay. Im not saying they are expensive, as much as I am saying that they don't give you that much food for what you pay. LOL does that make sense?... oh well. Verdict: Cominggggggg back bishes! Love this joint, I just ignore the angry waitresses ;)

Very good pizza, salad and panini. Slow service, with only 1 guy working the oven, but we had time to wait. Would be 3 stars if we were on a schedule. Nice seating area outside, but the couch was broken. Get new furniture and a second cook and you'll get 5 stars.

Last time I went we had a group, service was so slow that it took us 2 hours to finish dinner. Our drink orders were entered wrong twice, and then our pizza with sausage came out without the sausage, we told the server but told her we are too hungry so well just eat it, server did not apologize and told us whatever. She then charged us for the meat, when we asked her why, she said she can't do much about it. We asked her to bring a manager over, the manager stormed out to us and yelled "what do you guys want?!" Are you kidding me?! Not only that they have below average food, they are also overpriced. Terrible attitude on their entire staff, combined with service being slow. This is the worst bar in town, and I would make the same suggestion I've made to all my friends, just don't go here, it's not worth your time.

Worked here for 5-6 months. Food is good 50% of the time if you get the right cooks. The other 50% of the time your pizza might as well be a puddle of grill-scrapings. Drinks are good, the place really is a nightlife spot for college kids and not a restaurant. This would be totally valid, but the place tries really hard to sell itself as upscale and it just isn't. Owner and active manager, Jen, is perhaps the most unpleasant and fiercely rude woman to have ever walked the curve of the Earth. Regularly attacks customers who do not like the food, shouts at employees while they are out on the floor. Intelligent business woman, though, she owns the entire block. Most of the employees are college kids looking to make a buck, so you can only judge them for what they are. The failing of the restaurant is not a result of the employees, it is a result of the management and operation. TLDR this place is a 50-50 coin flip

I have the same opinion as most 2 and 1 star reviews here. Service was lousy. We could immediately tell the waitress hated being there and our 4 pizzas took about 45 minutes. Their beer selection was awful. They didn't even have Blue Moon and on top of that there was a chance they were out of Yuengling. Inventory should be stocked on Yuengling before a football Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania. In regards to the pizza, they were good but less filling than we had hoped. I recommend just going to Faccia Luna for pizza and other bars for cheaper prices and better beer selections.

I came to psu for the Temple game. Couldn't have been more disappointed with the experience, my waitress, Emily, was SO rude. Honestly the worst waitress I have ever had. Unlike anything I have ever experienced before. The food was also way bellow average and certainly not worth the price. It also took like an hour for them to bring it out to us. I couldn't have been more disappointed with this place

We went on a date night to Inferno after eating out all day. We weren't too hungry, so we split the"Inferno" Pizza. Initially, the hostess was short with us and brought us to a table with no menus of any kinds. Our waitress (Hannah) came over, noticed the lack of menus, and immediately rectified it, Hannah told us what was on tap, and my girlfriend ordered a Yards, while I tried a Euphoria. Hannah told us our pizza would be a while, as the kitchen was backed up. We didn't mind, we sat at a high-top by the door and enjoyed our time. The pizza was delicious! The crowd was a little rough, but it was large enough that it wasn't a problem. We'd go there again; Hannah single-handedly changed my review. Oh, and our bill was super cheap!

Went there after dropping my daughter off for college for a quick bite. The Pear Salad was quite good. The pizza was not to my liking. I had the sausage pizza which really had no flavor. My wife had the tuscan with same results. Think they need to upgrade quality of their ingredients. The dough was good though so they have the base of a decent pizza. Service was subpar. I did let the waitress know that we needed to travel and was surprised at how unresponsive she was. There was literally no one in the bar at the time and our drinks sat on the bar for 5 minutes before she picked them up. Watched her when she was getting the check also. Spent a good 6 minutes talking to coworkers one of who I assumed was the manager. Prices were inexpensive. Overall I would try something else before going back.

The bartender Kristin alias Nikki was awesome....her Petron stingers were great....the rest of the staff needs to go... Nothing more annoying then waiting for service while watching your server talk on the phone... The white pizza was good the clientele diverse and the bathrooms were clean and cool.

So far, this is probably the worst place I've eaten at in state college. I ordered the 3 dip appetizer which came in dirty dishes! Then I'm watching the cook prepare my food and he's shaking hands with people in the place, touching his phone and other stuff and then is returning to prep food without washing his hands. Finally, I get my pizza which I ordered crispy but for some reason came out completely soggy. I returned it and my new pizza was not any different. Then the waitress asked if I wanted Parmesan, I said "yes". She then came back carrying the uncovered block of cheese in her armpit (FYI she also wore short sleeves). I said "thanks, I'm good." Recap: Dirty, bad food, bad service, overpriced. Needless to say I won't come back.

Dumbfounded. I don't think I've been to a place with worse service. It is seriously laughable how bad the service was. Waited over 20 minutes for a server. The only reason one showed up at all was because I told the host we hadn't seen a server yet. There is really no excuse for that considering plenty of servers saw us sitting there and chose to ignore us. The place was not even busy! Had to ask twice for napkins. Even the manager forgot to bring us napkins after he had asked if we needed anything and we said napkins! Eventually, my husband had to go to the bar to retrieve bar napkins himself. We were extremely disappointed for the amount of time we wasted in this restaurant on our visit to Penn State.

Strongly recommend that you do not go to this place. My birthday was on Arts Fest weekend and we had a group of people together at their bar for drinks. We were dressed very well and spending a lot of money on drinks. My boyfriend doesn't tip the bartender until we are all done ordering drinks after a few arounds - typically leaving a generous tip. When we tried to order the second round of drinks the bartender (a tall caucasian blonde male) had an attitude because he hadn't been tipped and flat out asked us for the tip. He gave us the wrong drinks and when we told him they were wrong he cut us off. We were so disappointed since it was my birthday. We asked to talk to the manager and he said he was the manager and told us to grow up and stop crying. A couple minutes later another one of our friends in our party ordered a drink, and I told him to be sure to tip the bartender or he'll get cut off too. The bartender heard my comment and signaled the bouncers to have us kicked out. We noticed them coming towards us and my boyfriend tipped his drink while adjusting his suit and began to walk out towards the door. The bouncers ran out from behind the bar and grabbed him up, tore his jacket for his suit, and used excessive physical force. The bartender grabbed my boyfriend's face and dragged him out to the curb in front of Inferno, and the cops pulled up immediately and hand cuffed him. We told them what had happened and they told us that the bartenders are probably on edge because of Arts Fest weekend and that we should not go back there. I believe this bartender works at Kildares now, but regardless we will never return there. They ruined a perfectly good night with greed for tips and then used excessive force and embarrassed us in front of a packed bar. I suggest that you stay away.

DO NOT GO! I've been to this place 3 or 4 times now (for lunch and dinner) and every time they are incredibly understaffed to the point where the whole restaurant would be full and they only had 1 or 2 waitresses. It takes our food on average an hour to come out; they need to hire more people. The food is NOT good enough in any way to wait longer than 15 minutes in my opinion I may be biased having been the restaurant business for a decade, but as a manager I'm pretty confident in stating that the owner is awful. The bartender a couple months ago told us she was working a 13 hr shift that day with no breaks.....13 hours?! Is that even legal?! The owner is completely unprofessional in her demeanor and you can often times hear her yelling at her cooks and servers in an embarrassingly loud tone. We one time saw her arguing with a customer about an issue with their food and that was the last straw for me, haven't been back.

Really good pizza. Probably the closest place to being a swank NYC lounge that you'll find in SC. Martinis are good...I'd say come early before you get slizzed.

When the best thing about a bar is the bathroom, doesn't that send a message? I visited this place a few times and rarely had an enjoyable experience. It gives off a stuffy and pretentious vibe. The last straw was when I visited one night during a half-off happy hour. I waited at the bar for 15 minutes for a drink, and when the guy behind the bar finally noticed me, he visibly waved me away to take the order of an attractive girl behind me. When he finally got back to me, I ordered a mixed drink and he charged me $13.50 for it... during half-off happy hour. Are you kidding me? I never went back.

First off, the restaurant has a very confused personality. The decor says NY city hip restaurant. The female wait staff are dressed worse than hooters girls, as if they just got out of bed wearing low cut shirts and tight short shorts. The food is italian alforno style. The music genre of the night seemed to be club/hip hop style music, which neither matched the decor, waitstaff, or the cuisine of the restaurant. The name of the restaurant and the appearance from main street had conjured higher expectations of the inside. The menu is small, one page of paper. It extends from starters to pizza, salad, and one pasta dish. The price is a bit high for "gourmet" pizzas that are a bit smaller than the plate they are served on. Somehow, my Tuscan style pizza was burned in the few minutes that it was in the oven. Not just a bit burned, but unpalatably burned to a black luster. Even the plate had blackened grease remnants on it. Unfortunately, the Hooters waitress was too busy tending to her hair than her patrons so I consumed my pizza without complaint. Additionally the "wild mushrooms" that were supposed to be on my pizza were not wild but instead white button mushrooms. There were no oyster, shitake, or cremini mushrooms, as described by Ms. Hooter, on my pizza.... disappointing. The appetizers were small as well. My table ordered the trio of dips and the antipasto salad. The trio of dips came with a white bean puree, olive tapenade and rosemary oil. Neither of the dips were particularly good. The rosemary oil was about a quarter cup of oil with a few pinches of dried rosemary floating around. The tapenade was flat tasting and needed seasoning as did the bean puree. The anitpasto was fair, except for the size for price ratio. Don't be fooled by the price. The food is mediocre at best and costs too much for the amount of food. Find another place, especially if you are hungry or looking for a nice date place.

Love the atmosphere. The food was good. My mojito was pretty awful though. Great place to go in the summer...just order a standard beer or wine and you will be fine.

Definitely the place I would go if I want to have a drink with more mature crowd. Nothing fancy and nothing too special about this place. The Atmosphere is pretty nice, and the food is also okay. The drink is pretty good. I usually went here for a date... More mature crowd, not too loud, so we can actually talk and have a good drink to know each other.

This establishment probably deserves 3-1/2 stars, but it does not merit 4 stars. I have been there a couple of times in the last month or so. The atmosphere is quite noisy -- often, the "band" is just a disc jockey who plays crappy pop and disco music -- but the beer selection is fair and prices very reasonable, especially during happy hour. The service is good, and bouncers and so forth don't look to mess with their customers like at some other local establishments.

Nice decour. Decent beer section. Very limited menu. It can have a nice lounge vibe on a quieter nite, but on weekends it's overrun with drunk undergrads.

Great place with great atmostphere and great food! I've had the pizza and one of the salads before. Food is a bit pricy for the portions you get, but it is has a nice class to it. Great selection of alcoholic beverages and friendly staff. Not a place to go late night though - never many people around. And by not crowded, I mean you may be one of the only people in there. But if your going for dinner or happy hour - i would recommend it!

The best thing about this bar is the bathroom. Seriously awesome hand dyers that zap your hands dry in seconds! Ate here once: pizza was OK, definitely trying too hard and not quite hitting the mark. The decor is really nice and feels swanky, and could be on the list for "bars you take your parents to when they're in town" to try to impress them. There are different drink specials every night, with a few everyday, all day specials as well. I think their italian margarita (on special Wed) is excellent, but other than that everything is pretty meh. I wouldn't go here for a night out, but to start with a few drinks its fine.

Small, quaint setup in the downtown area. The atmosphere was clean & almost swank. Had a decent selection of beers on tap. We chose the Brooklyn Brewery IPA (hard to find on the west coast, so I was excited to try) and had a small serving of the haute mac-n-cheese, which consisted of pancetta, fontina cheese & truffle oil. Had a small house salad on the side. Co-workers had the individual pizzas, which looked great. Their vodka menu also looked fun. Not much on the wine list, but over all is impressed with the prices and the great service.

I saw the reviews here of Inferno and was a little hesitant to go. For my trip, the service was fair, the pizza was pretty good, and the outdoor seating was nice. Overall, it was good but not great. I didn't see what all the complaining was about, at least...not on this trip.

  • Mike W.

Here is the good part. You can sit outside right on College Avenue on a sunny day. After that it goes down hill. The ice tea was instant, one of our pizzas was burned but the highlight was the pizza with arugula had no arugula on it. They put lettuce on it! When we pointed this out to the waitress she said they were busy over the weekend and ran out. No apology, no offer to give us another pizza, nothing. So for $37.10 you can get instant ice tea and burned pizza with lettuce on it.

Another reason to love college towns. Chill atmosphere, sleek decor and big open windows with outdoor seating. Great place to meet for drinks! Pizza was meh- soggy crust and a bit greasy; beer was ice cold and service was prompt and friendly. Very reasonably priced, too - I could see it becoming a favorite cocktail spot.

Food is decent. Staff is nice. The owner came in one time when I was there and she wasn't very nice. The bartender said she's always like that. I haven't been back.

If not for a $5.25 pitcher of yuengling, this place would have been a 1 star rating. They cranked the music at 9:30pm and you couldn't hear someone talk without screaming. This is a college bar, even when college isn't in session.

Given that I am currently living in State College, PA in the middle of farm country, "swanky" establishments with non-sandwich related food items are pretty few and far between. So I decided to take some out of town friends there last night and could NOT have regretted this decision more. We went late at 9:30 so we could eat and drink after, and were asked for a $3 cover each at the door. We refused - who has to pay cover to patron a restaurant? The waitress was decent, pretty prompt - but actually tried to argue with us that we were not ordering enough food (she didn't wait to hear that the other two guests were also ordering.)Then halfway through she informed us that she was done with her shift, brought a check and then went to have drinks at the bar. With half our meal still left we tried endlessly to order more drinks and kept being told we had to go to the bar. Finally, the one very good waiter helped us and brought a free drink for the trouble. But we were still unable to order a round of shots to the table (apparently Inferno likes to make it hard to spend money.) Giving up we went to the bar, waited in line for 20mins and at 11:02 were denied happy hour prices. The whole experience was a nightmare, but I am not surprised since Dante's restaurant's are infamous for bad service (esp. the Deli) Clearly the management thinks that a college town with college-age patrons means their employees do not have to be professional. Do not go if you value quality service.

I want to like this place because of the sexy atmosphere. Nice and romantic when not packed. And the food is really good. But I shouldn't have to ask 3 times for a drink menu. At a bar. And if I do have to ask 3 times, I should eventually get a drink menu. Kind of made me sad to see the next table get a drink menu. And then drinks.

Came on a slow night with my friend, managed to find the $1.25 Yuengling pint specials, went to town. Food seemed overpriced for what it was so we skipped it over. Staff was rather inattentive when we were there, ignoring customers to check their cell phones and such. Place gets points for okay specials and the cool bathroom, that's about it.

Empty at lunch time w/ 2 parties seated yet we had to stand as if several parties were in front of us. Hubby was disgusted w/ pear salad. Ziti overpriced - small portion, taste was eh. They didn't remove the salad from the bill even though my husband only had 1 bite and made the server aware. Server said her manager give us a gift card. He did not.

I tried to take a friend here for pre-birthday drinks after dinner at a nearby restaurant. A Sunday night, it was not exactly busy; yet they wouldn't seat us. The reason: I had a box with my leftovers with me. I had no plans to consume it, obviously, but: No outside food on the premises, that's the rule. The general manager, a 25 y/o kid with limited personal skills, wouldn't budge, even if he agreed that it didn't make much sense in this case. Well, not only were they unfriendly, but they were quite happy to forego our business. Cocktails are overpriced for what they are. They're here to extract money from students who don't know any better. What this place has going for it is the people watching on summer evenings. I won't be back any time soon.

After spending the afternoon at THON soccer game, several students suggested that, for pizza, Inferno was a good bet for dinner before we headed home. We found it easily, and at 5:00 on a Sunday, it was fairly empty inside. First question to the waitress was how big the pizzas were...9". We ordered three...two for the kids, one for wife and I. The waitress suggesed that one minght not be enough for two people, so perhaps a salad to fill out the meal...so we ordered the garganzola salad for us to split. Food came out quickly. The salad was fine...but definately on the small side, especially for two adults to split. When the pizzas arrived, two were enough for the three kids, but one was way too small for two hungry adults. I should have heededmy stomach and purchased one for each of us. The sausage pizza we ordered was o-k. Not traditional, as it is from a brick oven, but not sensational enough to make my loins burn for another. I wouldn't rave or make a point to come back, just for the pizza. The waitress was pretty friendly, and pretty prompt. No complaints there. The establishment was pretty trendy, with opening front windows letting fresh air in. The rest of the eating area was clean and tasteful. Large-screen TV's about the bar showed manditory football and baseball games. I'd also agree that the bathrooms were pretty darn cool. Kids came back raving about the sink, so I made a trip in just to see it. Yes, cool. Call me when you are remodeling! Verdict? Any time I walk away hungry, it's a strike. Especially when it's been augmented with a salad to fill me up. And, when the pizza is just "eeh", it seals the deal. With so many other eateries to try in State College, I can't say I'll be back right away...

Wow! An 8 dollar antipasto plate with enough to satisfy a mouse. Slow service , servers that are not allowed to tell you that it is micro sized with a lofty price.Highly discourage this establishment.

We came over here ravenously hungry on our first night during Parent's Week at Penn State, where the restaurants were packed like sardines and we were lucky enough to get a nice sofa with coffe-table setup to eat. Nice pizza but a bit greasy. For me, I had a great roasted salmon with lentils. I would have rated it higher but the entrance had a fetid smell as if a drunk college person had regurgitated his beers.

Is this place a two-bit restaurant or a two-bit nightclub? I can't tell! I went here for dinner with two colleagues: 1) The food was terrible. It was somehow lower quality than you'd get at any chain. 2) They were missing multiple wines from the small winelist. 3) The cocktails are amateur hour (at best). They read like they were designed by a second-rate fraternity on campus. If you're looking for a serious meal in State College - try Zola, or even The Tavern.

  • Erin R.

I almost never came here as an undergrad, but post-grad it has become one of my favorite spots. It has a nice, laid back lounge atmosphere most of the time. On weekends it's busier, but in a fun way - not as frenzied as you'll find at most other places in State College on the weekend. The food is nothing special, I wouldn't go there for it specifically, but if you're out for drinks and get hungry, the pizza and salads are a nice change from your average bar food. Their drink menu is really great. Their sin drinks are tasty and strong and on special all the time, and the other drinks aren't that expensive - I don't think any of them are more than $8. And they have some cool ones that feature peanut butter rum and other interesting ingredients. The service can be spotty, especially on weekends when it's busy. They could definitely stand to hire a few more people. But I've seen worse around here. And it has the nicest bathrooms in downtown State College, which sounds like a silly thing to rave about, but if you've been to The Phyrst or The Saloon you'll understand the importance of this.

Cute looking place. Fancy sign. Gross pizza. Gross. "Pizza." I am a pizza snob, but I would not even really count this as pizza. We each ordered the personal pizza and I decided to get the traditional one (I am unphased by fancy pizza and may be the first self-proclaimed pizza purist). Ordered to go. Came fast. Not sure how it came that fast and yet they managed to burn the F out of it. The whole bottom was charred. I tried to power through it but found the top of the pizza to not be any better. I feel bad giving one star to places, but I do not have anything nice to say about the food. I'd rather eat Elio's frozen pizza (but don't knock Elio's - that was the business back in my young days).

This is a State College hotspot on gamedays. When I visited after a Penn State home game, there was a long long wait and it was very crowded. When we finally got seated, we ordered from their selection of brick oven pizzas. They are personal pizzas. We had 4 people in our group and tried 4 different types. They are all pretty good. The pricing was reasonable. The decor of the place is very trendy and modern. They also have a wide variety of alcohol selections. Overall, this is a pretty nice place to sit down and have a drink and eat some pizza. You might want to try it on a non football weekend so that you aren't forced to wait so long.

Honestly, I don't recomnd This place at all 1st :Food is overpriced 2nd : A )Food that they serve ,the term "freshness" doesn't describe it and specially the pasta salad with raw shrimp and old pasta B) oooh my god for the pizza's it's bad and doesn't have taste and the dough ts haaaard and all burned they 'd rather name it anything but Pizza 3rd :Beverages was even too light due to the melted ice in them Pepsi with no steam and as light as ice tea 4th: Managemnt is so bad the waitress atitude is dumb; and you must double check your reciept and don't hesitate to tell her to give you the change if she doesn't give i back coz they assume they can take $5 change and you will e shy to ask her about it 5th: the atmosphere can be good for someone who doean't have allergie and is ok for him smell the burn from the brickoven

We should have checked on here first... in town for a workshop, needed a quick place for lunch in easy walking distance... this place certainly looked cool and trendy.. but with more staff inside than customers, they still took more than 45 minutes to get us our food, including a 25 minute wait for them to come out and tell me they couldn't make the salad I ordered originally because they were out of an ingredient. I ordered a different salad and I swear they put a whole shaker of salt on my caprese salad. Pizza was meh..certainly not worth the 45 minute wait. Will not return.

Inferno has a really unique atmosphere. It's a dimly lit and intimate setting with loud music and good drink options. They have a variety of options including a lounge area, tables and a bar that gets pretty busy. We always go in for pizza and a couple drinks early in the night and by the time we leave the place gets pretty busy. The menu is very limited but they do what they do really well. I almost always see students there

Inferno is OK for a lounge, albeit small, but space is tough to come by on the main drags of State College. Drinks are slightly expensive for a college town but someone needs to pay for the fancy interior. All in all, the owners did a nice job trying to replicate a big city type lounge in the middle of PA, but service could be better. They need someone to constantly go around and clean off tables of empty glassware.. not every minute or so.. constantly. There are too many people trying to cram themselves inside for there to be empty glasses lying around on tables just waiting to be bumped into.

My family and I went to Inferno for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. The space was shiny and new, the restaurant was absolutely empty, and the menu looked promising. I ordered the "Asparagus & Aritchoke Heart" (sic) pizza, which was a bit disappointing. It was OK, but bread-heavy, without all that much artichoke on it. For $8, I expected more. B had the prosciutto pizza. She thought it was tasty, but unremarkable. Like me, she expected to get a bit more of the non-bread ingredients (prosciutto, ricotta cheese, and arugula). My dad had the roasted chicken panini, which had tomatoes, pesto, and peppercorn on ciabatta bread. He really liked it, remarking on the yummy tomatoes. Reasonable overall, but I'm not raring to come back.

Inferno has cool decor, and a fairly helpful staff. We had the unique experience of visiting on "State Patty's Day," so it quite possibly would have gotten 4 stars without the drunken undergrads making out in the bar. We had a party of 11, and we were told it would be ~30 minutes. After an hour, we went to go check-- and due to the nature of the days festivities, the hostess had up and quit on the spot, before putting our party on the list. The manager was very apologetic, got us the first available table, and comped part of our bill. Overall, the pizza was good, but in concordance with prior reviews, it was heavy on the crust and lacking on the other. However, I enjoyed my food, and the staff did really well considering how busy it was.

Went to grab drinks with a friend the other evening. Our server was nice and attentive (albeit the place was empty), and there was a good list of specialty cocktails. We both ordered one but were very disappointed when they were hardly filled close to the brim. The cocktail was definitely delicious, but skimpy on the volume!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
