I had stopped going here for a while due to the way I was treated by people in the past, but my past experience was amazing. My sever Courtney really made the experience that much better. When I first was seated, I noticed that I did not have silverware and within 2 seconds of ordering my drinks, she came and set my place setting for me. Then they were out of the pasta that I ordered...which normally people get all angry about but her demeanor and calm attitude is what made me not mind. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend others to go there and request her specifically!

I have a few Delco staples I go to for breakfast, but once in a while I like to try a new spot. So my wife, two kids, and I decided to try Springfield Diner and WHAT A MISTAKE!!! First off when I entered we were greeted by the most rude/cold guy ever! I assume this guy was a manager or owner. He really didn't say anything he just sat us at a table threw us some menus and left. In the time we were seated another table of 6 was sat next to us. The waitress went to them first and totally skipped us as if we didn't exist. We had to flag her down to make her aware of our existence and to take our drink order. So finally we got in all of our food order which wasn't much....pancakes for my wife, two egg platter for me, and the little guy was going to have some of my wife's pancakes ( the little little guy just had his baba). It took an hour for us to get our food! Not exaggerating here.....an hour! The waitress was apologetic and said their drink area was down and had to get drinks on the other side of the diner and it was slowing up service. I was sitting right there and saw it was a guy from Pepsi fixing the Soda fountain. I'm not sure how the fountain soda machine slows down coffee, orange juice, and other morning beverages.....but whatever! As far as the food it was mediocre at best. Imagine if you ordered food from the cafeteria in a hospital...that about sums it up. When all was said and done....from being seated to last bite....we were there for an hour and a half! That's insane! And just when things couldn't get worse I had to see the owner/manager guy again when I went to pay. Again, he was cold! Just for the hell of it I said "thank you, have a nice day." He said NOTHING! Dude, I am there to give you business. I could have eaten anywhere, but I chose your diner! Would a "thank you" kill you? Would any emotion kill you? Needless to say....but I shall not be returning here!

Giving 2 stars because the waitress was really friendly and did her job well. The French onion soup tasted like water, abodo, and onions.... The wrap had cheap deal fried chicken with flavorless fries. And the ravioli was just a mush of cheese. I wasn't too crazy about the food but the service was definitely good. It's definitely cleaner than most dinners, there is a lot of space to be seated, and you get the food quick. Salad was basically romaine lettuce with dressing
(2)Bill G.
The menu is scary big, the food comes out insanely fast, portions are HUGE, and the prices are low. Love going here for breakfast and lunch, but have not had a good dinner experience. This is definitely a quantity over quality type of place. Use common sense when ordering and stay away from the more "exotic" items that they most likely sell 1 a week of and most certainly come out of the freezer. Not the place to experiment. Also from experience, avoid "beef" in general. Daily lunch specials are great!
(3)Dee M.
Great service. Nice setups. Varied menu. Food is very good. Great breakfast again today. They just do so many things right here.
(5)Thuy H.
Probably one of the better diners I've been to in a long time. Came here after a night of searching for a new vehicle. I ordered a breakfast omlette and topped it with some of their sausage gravy. OMG...so good. My husband ordered some seafood thing. I thought it was ok, but he LOVED it. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definately stop here. Large menus, large space, so you can't really go wrong!

In the past week, I've been here twice. That's got to say something. They have fantastic lunch and dinner specials that are super duper cheap. The dinner specials are usually $12 or less and come with the entree, soup or salad, potato, veggie and one of their fantastic homemade desserts. They also bring the best homemade bread basket around. Their cheese bread is to die for. The greek trio is a fantastic platter, as well as the meatloaf pizziola. The chicken croquettes were good but too minced up. I like my croquettes a little bit more chunky. The spinach pie and greek salad lunch special might be the greatest thing in the world.

3.5 stars. - A decent breakfast place for the Diner Classics - and Eggs benedict with "hollandaise from a mix". Big portions and OK prices. Surprisingly decent hot coffee - maybe I lucked out with a fresh pot? Overly made-up servers (can you say black eye liner at 10 AM)? wearing support hosiery. Nostalgic - and a darn sight better than Country Squire (Blech.)

My husband and I stopped in here when we first moved to town and had a craving for a good diner breakfast. This place definitely met that craving. The service was good, and exceptionally fast. The food was good, diner style food (nothing too fancy but it tasted exactly as I wanted it to!). We'll definitely return...the dessert counter looked mouth watering good.
(4)Kate O.
We were in town visiting and found ourselves here for dinner one night. HUGE menu, huge portions, good food. Exactly what you would expect from a place such as this. We also visited for breakfast and were happy with the food. If you are looking for a diner with true diner food, great portions and reasonable prices, this is it.

Never in my life have I ever witnessed such shitty customer service. Tonight there was a customer sitting across from me that simply explained she didn't like that the dish came out different then described, which is understandable this happens in the restaurant business, BUT instead of handling this in a professional matter this asshat of a manager they have working nights called the cops and told them that he had a customer that didn't want to pay for her food. This customer didn't even touch her food! What happened to customer service? How about offer to make it the way they want it? How about offer them a refund? No instead you called the police and attempted to turn a once paying customer into a Criminal!?!?! Well Springfield diner you now have two never again paying customers and I COME HERE OFTEN! I will be sure to share this on Facebook with many other people as well. I feel like this guy needs to be terminated asap! My friends always say how he is ignorant and short towards customers most nights and this whole situation has topped it off for me.
(1)George C.
Great food, great experience....we had a fabulous time. Classic diner atmosphere. Lots of variety on the menu and very reasonably priced! The desserts are awesome!
(5)Michael B.
Customer service was good ...but the diner was very dirty trash and debris all over the floors making it very hard to enjoy my meal the food was ok at best. I will not be going back.
(2)Karen W.
Food was good but, I we when stead there where dead Flys on the window sill, that just gross me out
(3)Matt B.
This is a really good diner. I have not had bad service. I always get a table right away even when they are busy (though I have seen larger groups have to wait). Food comes out really fast and is really good. They have a bunch of desserts you can buy at the front counter. They only thing keeping this diner from being 5 stars is their lack of alcohol.
(4)Amanda G.
THE FRENCH FRIES ARE SO DELICIOUS!!! Get them with a side of cheese and you can thank you me later. Seriously, though, this place is ridiculous. The menu is like 15 pages long. You can get anything from grilled cheese to shrimp scampi to a whole chicken. It's just silly. The panini I got was good, but I wish they chopped up the meat instead of leaving it in huge chunks because it was difficult to bite. The onion rings were good - not as crispy as I usually like, but the onion didn't pull out of the fried goodness so that was good. Usually one bite into an onion ring and you lose the whole onion! The desserts here are endless. I will definitely be back to sample more items.

Came here twice in my short stay in the area and both times were just fine. As stated, I was in the area for a short time and came here once for dinner and once for breakfast. I've been to a lot of diners over the years, some have been good and some not so good, but this I would classify as a good enough diner. Menu was the standard diner menu, though a little larger than most, but I just ordered the basics (burger for dinner and the breakfast sampler - both were good, though the pancakes weren't the best I've ever had). Others with me had more expensive dishes, but I can only comment what I ate - though their dishes did look good. The menu prices are what you can expect for a diner and the food hit the spot they way they should. If you're looking for a 5 star restaurant, then of course you shouldn't be eating in a diner to begin with. This diner overall is pretty large and for the two times I was there, the place was busy and crowded. Obviously they're doing something right. The waitresses on both visits were courteous and friendly. The only complaint I would have was that the butter knives were spotty, but still clean. The parking lot is pretty big and deep and even during the overcrowded dinner rush, we were able to find a spot.....just barely. They do have a nice dessert display when you enter and if you have a sweet tooth, there is more to accommodate you on that front alone. Overall a good diner and if you're in the area and looking for a diner, you could do a lot worse.
(4)Danielle F.
As far as diners go, this place has a wide variety of food, huge portions, and good prices. Service is slow. Food comes out fast. Liked the pancakes, mac and cheese not so much. I think a lot of the food is premade. That said, it's a solid place for a bite and would definitely return.
(3)Mo D.
DESSERTS review ONLY! Love love love their chocolate strawberries because the chocolate is not too sweet and I love that. It has a rich dark coco taste. It's a hit or miss on the strawberries though: sometimes it's a sweet one and sometimes not. I tried everything with strawberries and love that the cream that they use is not too sweet either. It's like they make desserts for diabetics or something. So some may not like that but I definitely do and don't like overly sweet desserts from anywhere.
(4)Rhonda M.
It's hard for me to write a review about the food. It was the first time that I came for dinner. The portions were huge and everything smelled delicious. However our party of five were seated directly next to a work station and where apparently EVERYONE walked by. The wait staff continued to bang into my chair and hit me on the back and head with platters of food. They carried platters over my head. OVER MY HEAD!!! The waitress looked like she just rolled out of bed and seemed annoyed the entire time. I was asked several times during dinner to get up out of my seat to let someone pass to their table. The manager/owner acted as if I was causing an issue for him by being in the way!! I will never go to this diner again. I will update my review of the food when I actually sit down and eat it at my own dinner table
(1)Rennie P.
The food was mediocre. The waitress Jackie was phenomenal. She worked with having a cold and dealt with a large number of us. My suggestions is not visit this restaurant with a group of more that six. The cashier was horrible, rude and stereotyped large groups of Black patrons. My suggestion overall is don't dine here period. They can have it!!!!
(2)Melissa K.
The food isn't too bad. Its diner food. But the customer service is bad. The wait for a table is fine. But the waitresses we have had the last few times were miserable and rush you out. This time we had to wait a while just to have our order taken. I get it that you are busy but you still need to be nice and fake a good face. We won't be going back or recommend this diner to friends.
(2)Kristina O.
Friendly, fast, and good food. However, a guy was walking around with a holsteted gun in plain site. He didn't wear a uniform or display signifying he was police or security. It was really creepy and disturbing!!!!
(4)Christina W.
Wait, have I really never reviewed this place before? I'm here ALL the time. Not really, but whenever I'm starving and I can't decide where to go, this place always wins. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes for a table. Service is always on point - with the exception of the occasional slow waitress. The food is always fantastic and that still surprises me given the fact that their menu is enormous; everything from breakfast to sandwiches and pastas to seafood dinners. Just make sure to leave room because they have four cases of desserts to choose from. You can't miss them. I cannot stress this enough - THEY HAVE THE BEST WINGS. I feel like I should just copy and paste that over and over again and let that be the entire review.

I started out giving Springfield Diner 3 stars - then upgraded to 4 because of the new-ish, clean interior - then downgraded back to 3 because they aren't open 24 hours. The food is your typical reliable diner food. You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner any time of day and it's all pretty decent. The menu is the size of a small novel so you can expect to find whatever it is your little hungry heart desires. The glass cases in the front are full of delicious looking desserts - I keep meaning to try something to see if the taste lives up to its looks - but I'm usually too full from whatever I ordered. I will report back. The service is friendly and efficient. To be fair, they *are* open 24 hours on Friday and Saturdays. But I like my diners open 24/7 to accommodate my crazy sleep/work schedule... obviously it's all about me and I should be catered to, clearly.
(3)Gianna A.
Sadly, I have to take away two stars because the last few visits have been very disappointing. The staff just isn't up to par anymore although the food has remained good. A couple of visits over the summer and we stayed away for a couple of months. The place had flies all over the place and we spent more time swatting them away than eating. We'll give it a few more months and then try again. Sorry Springfield Diner, just not what you used to be.
(3)Colleen B.
Typical diner, very busy on the weekends but the wait isn't that long. It's very large and clean. It also has a large menu and it's very overwhelming. We had a large group with a little one and our server was awesome! Props to her. I went with a turkey club and it was solid. The fries were the crispy soft ones too, yum. They only have Pepsi products though, bummer. The dessert case calls you by your first name when you walk in and lures you in when you are leaving too, everything was mouthwatering delicious in presentation but I held my ground and didn't indulge. You should though =) So if you are looking for a classic diner, check this spot out!

There was one morning that I was craving pancakes. Fluffy, warm, delicious pancakes, swimming in maple syrup. It was literally on my mind all day! I rushed home, and to no avail, no pancake mix. No worries there. I've always driven by the Springfield Diner, and somehow I knew that they would be able to take care of my cravings. And there it was. The Pancakes Deluxe with two eggs any style, and choice of ham, bacon, sausage, or scrapple. Perfect! I went with the sunny-side up eggs and bacon. And for added sweetness, I added chocolate chips and bananas to my pancakes. I didn't mind spending the few extra dollars or giving into the extra calories. My breakfast-for-dinner meal did not disappoint. My pancakes were as large as my plate, and the chocolate-banana filling was absolutely heavenly. Even though my eggs looked happy on my plate, I couldn't help but stab them so that the yolk would create a nice yellow pool for my bacon to dip in. I also added some hot sauce to give it a nice kick. The bacon? Not as crispy as I would have liked, but it had the nice salty flavor that help balance the sweetness of the pancakes. Surprisingly, I finished my meal. Service was friendly, and the server kept my water glass full. I left the diner happy! This is how to satisfy your cravings. You go all out, and don't look back. Thank you, Springfield Diner!

Best service we've had in a long time. Food was excellent. Cooked just right and nicely presented. Good value as well. I had Belgium waffle and my wife had eggs Benedict we recommend highly.
(5)Nancy H.
This diner is amazing. We eat their literally weekly. Often more than once in a week. They have the best French toast. The platter has 3 Texas sized pieces of egg and cinnamon drenched toast. The chicken parmigiana is delicious and provides enough leftovers for a second meal. The strawberry cheesecake and blueberry pie are so yummy I crave them. The prices are reasonable. Dinner entrees come with soup or salad and dinner specials come with pie or ice cream. A truly delicious destination diner. The lines appear long but you seldom wait more than 15 minutes and it is well worth the wait.
(5)Jon H.
I have been to this diner twice in the past 3 months for business meeting. The people are all very nice from the greeter down to the busboys. The service has been fast and attentive. I can only comment on the breakfast meals and they have been excellent. Eggs always prepared as requested, pancakes are delicious and best of all they know how to cook scrapple to perfection, not too thick and crispy! They also bake all of their desserts on premise. The cupcakes are unbelievable. If you are looking for a classic, clean diner with great food at a reasonable price I would recommend.
(4)Mike S.
A great place to take the family but all ways so busy. Reasonable prices and a great selection. #family fun.
(5)Leah Y.
I have passed this place so many times and finally decided to go in because I had a taste for breakfast. It was good I enjoyed it
(4)Eric P.
So much breakfast, so much delicious. My body was ready for massive amounts of breakfast wonderful and they delivered! Staff was super friendly and prompt.
(4)Juls B.
A very mixed bag. Walked in and practically froze on the spot. Bring a jacket in summer. Pleasant waitress, bit of a long wait to get food. No bread basket :-(. Bacon cheeseburger was juicy, huge, and delicious - would definitely recommend their burgers. I had the Grecian Press, a panini on ciabatta of gyro meat, tomato, feta, and tatziki - delicious! Milkshake was good, but what diner does not give the overflow cup with the milkshake glass?! (Big disappointment!) for dessert, the choices were insanely varied (I wanted one of each...), and we ordered the chocolate mousse and fudge cake. It was huge!!! Chocolate heaven!
(3)Brenda K.
We had 4 in our party. Our server was great, fast and responsive. Two of the meals, Ponderosa Burger and Buffalo Chicken wrap woukd rate 4 stars. My veggie pannini was just okay. Id give it a 2.5. The veggies didn't look fresh and not much flavor. The lasagna was about a 3. My Boston Cream Pie tasted stale with too little of the Bavarian cream. Oreo cake was yummy as was the cannoli. The owners standing by the dessert area were not friendly which is why I rated this place a 3.
(3)Tony D.
I have eaten here many times, and it is consistently the best diner I have been to in the area. Great traditional diner food. I have had the fried chicken, turkey dinner, roast beef and gravy, French dip sandwich, turkey club, and quite a few other dishes. The French onion soup is also one of the best I have had. The breakfast menu is hands down my favorite. They have the best pancakes I have ever eaten. They are large, fluffy, and have a slightly sweet taste. But what sets this place apart from any other local diner is their desserts. You are greeted by 3 large dessert cases when you walk in the door. Everything is made in house. My favorites are the éclairs and any of the cakes LOL. It will be hard to pick just one. Just be prepared to wait if you show up for Sunday breakfast!
(4)Jessica H.
This is a monster of a diner. The menu is huge, way too much to pick from for me. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there several times. Friendly, efficient staff. Their desert selections are crazy - a zillion to pick from and all look delicious. Can have long lines and waits if you go at peak times. I run in for breakfast and sit at counter to bypass the line. Always get a good breakfast. Typical diner food, nothing I have had there stands out but the place is usually packed. It is what it is...a diner. Not the cheapest diner around but there is definitely something to please everyone, even if you have a large group. Stellar wait staff at the counter.
(3)Derrick W.
Came here for breakfast on a whim. I was sat quickly, server came quickly, food was good, food was hot, food was quick .....in and out. solid reminder of old-school Dinners will definitely be coming back:)
(4)Christina M.
Huge selection...portions are good size..food is excellent...staff is friendly...service is prompt...pastries are delicious!
(5)Alice V.
This is a local favorite! So good in fact, that it's become a monthly tradition for my friend and I to catch up over dinner. We make a point to leave Philadelphia (where we live) to eat here - it's worth the car ride! The menu is HUGE with options for just about everybody. The food is consistently good - be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. The portions are pretty big too - I usually can't finish my food (and look forward to my leftovers), especially if you order a full entrée which comes with bread, salad or soup and a dessert! Prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. The ambience is definitely a step-above as far as it goes for diners - great lighting, clean and modern. I would recommend this diner to anybody!
(4)Katherine L.
PACKED on the weekends. But don't let the scores of people waiting outside/ in the vestibule turn you off, they move tables like no other. Don't get me wrong, they don't rush you, but they are fast, friendly, and efficient. Typical diner menu, everything I've had has been great (except for the gyro sandwich which was bland and the tzatziki was oddly heavy and tasted like sour cream more than yogurt). French toast and pancakes are the bomb and the chicken breast club left me thinking about it the next day ( TMI? I'm just being honest). The desserts in the cases in the front look awesome but have never had room to get any.
(4)Joey M.
Good clean diner with prompt service and large portions! Just moved to Philly and it seems hard to find a 'good ol diner' so found one just outside of Philly! I will be a repeat offender =P
(4)Omar I.
This diner was absolutely amazing! It was scrumptious, tasty, and absolutely filling. Especially the banana split.
(5)Josh C.
The Springfield Diner is definitely a staple in the area for late night weekend grub. That being said, me and my buddies frequent the Diner on Monday nights to grab a cup of coffee and shoot the breeze. It's almost become a regular weekly occurrence. And I don't plan to stop coming here any time soon. I have only ever ordered one or two items from this place that I found unsatisfying. The breakfast food is always on point. The fries are always cooked to perfect texture. I would never order a steak here, but their entrees are still pretty damn good. And it goes without saying that their desserts, which light up the store-front cases, are brilliant. Every now and then I get requests from home to bring a tasty slice of lemon meringue pie home. All in all, a great place to sit down if you feel like grabbing a bite casually with some friends, be it a late night, an early morning, or just a mid-afternoon lunch, this place is never a bad choice. It's actually a good choice. A real good choice. But milk? Milk was a bad choice.
(4)Jenny P.
Food was not that great, had the French onion cheese was burnt. Also ordered a classic Reuben which I was not aware It was open faced with a ton of meat polled on the sandwich and soggy bread. Manager has a crappy attitude and does not listen very well to the customer. He tried telling me that is how Reuben's are made open faces. Now I have a lot of Reuben in my day and never had one like this. Should be ashamed. Not coming here again
(1)Anne M.
The manager was rude to my husband and I. We will never go back and the food is average.. Nothing special.. The last time I got breakfast the bacon was dried out and looked old.
(1)Keith B.
Really good portions for the price. We left stuffed and happy with our food. Chicken Caprese was excellent.
(4)Reid F.
I wish I could give it 2.5 stars, because this place defines mediocre. We had breakfast, and there was nothing wrong...just what you get when you cook with cheap ingredients and don't seem to care how it turns out.
(3)Jason C.
The Springfield Diner tops my list of modern family owned big diners for breakfast! While there always seems to be a wait on weekends, the time passes quickly as you warm-up your appetite while salivating over their delicious bakery cases! The service has always been prompt and very helpful. As someone whom likes their eggs, home fries, and muffin toasted to particular standards, they always seem to make it to perfection! Their menu offers at least half a dozen versions of eggs benedict along with a plethora of other options. Unable to find a single fault, the Springfield Diner has become out "GO TO" diner of choice!
(5)Ivory H.
I just had their broiled seafood combo and it was tasty and healthy. I had a salad along with 2 sides. If the zucchini marinara was good it would be a 5 star review.
(4)Brian R.
This food is delicious! I got the grab melt and the lobster bisque and I absolutely love it! I'd highly recommend anyone coming to this place, especially if you're out of town. Get some of the seafood and try something new.
(5)Ian D.
Well the eggs Benedict was not bad . Not the best but definitely not the worst. Service was great I sat at the counter.
(4)Sabrina G.
Breakfast is the best. Go here for the breakfast. You won't forget it. Haven't tried their lunch menus yet. The only problem I have here is that the wait can be a little ridiculous. It's popular, I guess. Sunday morning is sometimes a no-go. But once you're in it's really great food.
(4)Steven B.
The wife and I stopped by for breakfast this morning while out doing our Saturday errands. We arrived about 8:45. It was busy but we parked with no problem and were seated immediately. As you might expect they have a huge breakfast menu with every morning meal you can think of. Many of their specials include coffee and a small juice. That was quite a surprise. Lots of places bump up the bill by hitting you hard for the coffee. With these specials it's included. Nice! The wife ordered a Greek omelet and then complicated things with two or three additional ingredients. The waiter didn't even blink. I ordered the meat lovers special which in addition to eggs, toast and home fries included ham, bacon and sausage. Most of the breakfast meals are in the $6.99-$8.99 range. Our food arrived really fast. I mean less than five minutes. It was hot and fresh and the portions were very large. We were two stuffed customers. The atmosphere is beautiful. Lots of glass to let in natural light. We both appreciated the comfortable chairs. I'm increasing my stars to four!
(4)Janissa R.
We ordered fried calamari it was good. My daughter loved her chocolate chip pancakes. My husband and I ordered the Tuscan steak panini it was OK I order the steak medium rare it was overcooked. Waitress Cindy was great. I would come againml.
(4)Cynthia H.
After hearing a bunch of hype about this diner I thought it was going to be amazing. Unfortunately, it wasn't amazing. It wasn't even decent. I had one of the specials, the Baked stuffed Cabbage dinner. The salad was good, and the rice pudding dessert was good but the baked stuffed cabbage was terrible. Maybe I am spoiled by good stuffed cabbage that my daughter makes, but this stuff was inedible. The service was good though and I might try their breakfast, only cause I'm a glutton for punishment. [Ugh we went back and bought pastries. Thought we couldn't go wrong. They were horrible. Sickeningly sweet, and rock hard. Seriously don't even bother going there.]
(2)RJ B.
Great breakfast. it was quick and exactly how i asked it to be prepared. my coffee was never empty (major plus) and the canadian bacon was actually hand sliced...very impressed...
(4)Lisa M.
This full range diner doesn't mess around. Came in on a Sunday morning to find a packed parking lot and what seemed like 50 people in front of me. Put my name in and less than 10 minutes we had a table. Their menu is a book with a ton of food, but we were there for breakfast. Lunch and dinner, you will have to wait. I got a pancakes with strawberries and a side of scrapple, while my boyfriend got french toast , with eggs and bacon. I couldn't even get to half of my food because it was so much but it was delicious and I could see us checking out this place again in the future. Side note, their bakery looks intense!
(4)Beth B.
Great for a diner. They have the best hashbrowns. We ordered omelets, both were better than most. Can't wait to try a slice of pie next time!
(4)Steve S.
My breakfast there today convinced me. They deserve the 4 star upgrade. I've had enough meals here in the past year since my last review to tell that they have their act together for the most part. I would say the dinners are higher end diner quality. No, they're not gourmet good. But they are hearty down-home good most of the time. But this place is making a killing at breakfast. Of course, weekends are the breakfast crowd, and despite what appears to be a line outside looking like you could be waiting there 45 minutes, I've never had to wait longer than 15. They are incredibly efficient at managing their huge space. Now they say that you can't argue with a place that's always crowded. I submit that may not always be true. After all, Springfield is the place that has an Outback Steakhouse which averages nearly a two hour wait on weekends, as well as an Olive Garden and a Red Lobster close by that challenge that two hour barrier at times. For the life of me, I don't understand that. But in this case, the crowd knows what they are doing. A short stack of pancakes is filling enough to last you the whole day, and the fruit they serve with them is cut nice and fresh. I'm learning as I have them more and more that the hash browns have a wonderful potato taste to them. Not too brown, cooked at just the right level, just right in the end. Omelets are perfectly constructed. Even the turkey sausage I ordered was big and juicy. Maybe the occasional dinner doesn't live up to the hype. With all the menu items they have, it has to be impossible to make everything perfectly. But breakfast, they are definitely on their game.
(4)Stephanie P.
You definitely get your money's worth in terms of portion size when you're here. Excellent service & the food always comes out quick! The menu is rather large and takes a while to look through, but there's something on it for everyone.

Springfield Diner is a nice alternative to IHOP. They have a huge selection of baked goods on display when you walk in the door. My boyfriend and I seem to end up here whenever we have a weekday off. We were (and are normally) seated immediately even though the restaurant was busy (it was the Friday after the 4th of July so I assume most people were off). He ordered an omelette and home fries and I ordered a waffle with bacon. We enjoyed our meals. The server did forget to bring out my (shot glass size) small OJ. If you're thirsty and/or not a child I suggest you order the large OJ. Overall 4/5 for Springfield since it seems IHOP down the road is closed and Denny's down the road will never ever be an option.

Very nice turkey club. taylor(?) was a super server. Silverware and glasses were spotless which is a rarity in diners. Go there!
(4)Anthony B.
Let me preface this by saying I go here a lot. It is my go to diner in Delco. They also own the collegeville diner where I grew up so it reminds me of home. A ton of options. I eouldn't call things gourmet like the italian or seafood but it is still very good. The service is almost always fast with VERY few exceptions.
(4)Scott C.
Nice clean atmosphere. Had the Greek Trio: Pastichio, Moussaka and Spanakopita served with lentil soup and choice of desert. I have had better lentil soup at Indian restaurants but the main course was good. Would get it again.

I visited this diner several times in the past. It's hit or miss. I gave it a break for about 6 months. Their sides for lunch and dinner aren't always the best. Somebody should tell them everybody doesn't like vegetables drowned in marinara sauce. Tried it again this morning for a take-out breakfast. I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got there in 25 minutes. My order wasn't ready when I got there. No one apologized that I had to wait an additional 15 minutes. The very young, thin host brought my order out and just handed it to me. No eye contact. Never said thank you for your business. Never said thank you for waiting. But then again.... I've never seen him ever smile at a customer or thank them for the business. But he definitely makes sure that your money is right when you're at the register paying for your food. Today was my last day at this particular diner. They need to work on the customer service.

My friend got the crab cake over mac and cheese-- I may have to tranq her and steal it. It's that good.
(4)John C.
Gave this place another shot and probably shouldn't have. The service was worse than the last time I was there. Our waitress disappeared for about fifteen minutes at a time. I think it took us over an hour to get out of there. The open-faced roast beef sandwich I got was tasteless and the roast beef was an event to chew. My girlfriend had the fried chicken and said it was decent. The cakes looked good and we asked for a slice of the black forest for dessert. It may have been the most disgusting piece of cake I've ever had. I refuse to go back here ever again. I know that it's in a great spot on Baltimore Pike, but I'll never understand why this place gets so packed. It sucks.
(1)Ray M.
Nice spot for lunch. The place is bigger inside than it looks & very clean. I had a cheese omelet which was incredibly good & filled my plate... Oh & good wait staff too !
(4)Kamilah B.
I love that this place can be packed, and the managers still get you in quickly. They are very efficient and the wait staff are clean and professional looking. For the most part, I haven't had a problem w/ the staff, so far I will just chalk anything negative up to bad days. They have a huge menu, which I am not sure is a good/bad thing. Everything I've had has been good, but not spectacular. It is diner food. But it comes out fast and plentiful. The desserts are numerous and that makes it hard to choose. My GM had a sundae, and enjoyed it. I had lemon merinque(sp) and it was pretty good. They are good w/ children too. And old ppl! LOL (my gm is a trip)
(4)Chris S.
Not bad.. most of the entrees are decent though not really inspired. At best, it's good though never great. At worst, it's just forgettable. Service is ok too though again, uninspired. Getting the theme? It's average in every way but a good stop for a quick bite. Prices are reasonable too. It a good solid ok choice if not a bit of a snoozer..
(3)Ethan T.
I take my girls here often for pancakes on Saturdays. It's always crowded but they manage to get people seated very quickly. The food is a tad above average, but not by much. I could ask for a slightly larger portion when i get eggs and bacon. The staff is very friendly and it's still my home for Saturday morning pancakes for my girls.

After eating here a few times, and reading the reviews on here, I am left wondering if some people have not ventured out of delco. This place is ok, it's very over priced, and the food is really nothing special. I ordered cinnamon raisin pancakes and got crispy (who wants a crispy pancake?) pancakes with some cinnamon sprinkled on them with no raisin in site. The spinach omlette was more spinach than omlette, and not the good, fresh spinach. I would definitely take Java Joe's or the Coffee Station over this place. The desserts in the front cases look much better than they taste, and are definitely not worth the price. Have never been impressed with service, as I believe that I have never received a refill on any beverage without at minimum of a 15-20 minute wait. I understand that most of delco is in here on an hourly basis, but it just feels like they want you out as quick as possible. Maybe it's just me?
(2)Dana V.
Love this place especially for this area where there are so many gross diners,it's clean, quick, pretty friendly and the prices are ok,I've only ever eaten breakfast here and it's always delicious...the pastries are so so...we always have a pleasant experience and the coffee is wonderful.
(4)Sherri R.
This is my most favorite diner ever. I enjoy both their breakfasts and well as dinners. My family and I go there fairly often and we always have great food. The service is usually good especially when we have our favorite waiter who doesn't write anything down. Amazing!
(4)John A.
Great food, nice atmosphere, extremely fast service. Our waiter was nice as well. Place is very big.
(5)Fred L.
Hosts are insensitive to senior citizens, food is tasteless and service is bad. Andy the host would not seat my 90 year old mother because a few of our guests hadn't arrived but were on their way even after I requested multiple times and the table was available. . He and his partners were extremely RUDE! He then mentioned something to his waitress and she was RUDE and gave bad service. The only reason we didn't just walk out is because I was with my 90 year mother and didn't want to have to move her around. Denny's and Perkins aren't great but they are better than the Springfield Diner in terms of quality of food and service. It is beyond me why the place is busy. I had similar problems a week previous with the quality of food and service but thought I would try it again. BIG MISTAKE! DO NOT spend your money or give your business to Springfield Diner there are many other restaurants that will appreciate your business.

Went here for breakfast a few weeks ago. I was surprised there was a line waiting to get in as it was a weekday. They said it would be 10 mins but it turned out to be less than that. The waitress was EXCELLENT. Very friendly and good at her job. I was very surprised at how fast the food came out after placing our order, as the place was packed. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for the food. I would guess this could mean some of the stuff is not cooked to order but I don't know that for a fact. My friend ordered the chip beef on toast which was good. I ordered a Spanish omelet. It came out looking great but when I cut into it, it was extremely watery. It was as if they had folded a half of a jar of salsa into the middle of the omelet. I took a few bites and couldn't eat it. The waitress took it back for me and I ordered 2 eggs over easy. She also brought me a whole new order of hash brown potatoes even though I had almost finished the ones with my original order. The eggs were ok. I would say stick to the more basic of breakfast stuff. The coffee was fresh and hot. Oh yeah, one more thing. They brought my toast already slathered in tons of butter. When the waitress saw me scraping it off, she came over and insisted I get a new order, which she brought with the butter on the side. Much better. I would say from my first visit, food wise, it was mediocre but the service, and waitress more than made up for it. I will give it another try and keep it simple. The coffee, hash browns, and chip beef were good. The place is new and looked very clean. I have not eaten lunch or dinner there so I don't know what the food is like for these meals. I will give it another try for breakfast tho.
(3)Jeremia F.
Sat at the breakfast counter and skipped about 40 families in line for breakfast since I was rolling solo. Great bang for the buck with nice portion sizes and everything was cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional as well. Definitiely worth the wait if I come back with more peeps.
(4)Kevin W.
Me and my good long time friend came in here after a karaoke night and it was 2:30 in the morning, the place was crowded. We loved looking at the cakes in the case up front they are truly something to see.She ordered pancakes which looked great and I had the Texas cheeseburger and here is the breakdown bun--supermarket bun with nothing special meat--about average toppings--pretty much onions and bbq sauce overall the burger was typical for a diner and nothing special but I would go back just to look at the cakes in the front case and eat pancakes
(3)Todd B.
I'll never get why this place is usually packed because its not that great. Actually, my last visit just took place last night. The appetizer, potato skins, were three large ones. But, they were dry and overdone. Not enough cheese and bluh! Then came my Reuben with French fries. I've never been a fan of the batter-type coating French fries that seem to be popular these days. And, they weren't hot. The Reuben too was dry. I believe the corned beef may have been grilled a bit too long. Then, lastly--the dessert. I agree with a previous poster that the desserts in the dessert case look a helluva lot better than they taste! I had the Napolean to go...tons of FILO dough, hardly any cream filling. Service though was impeccable. There are just too many choices out there then to waste my money on below average tasting food!
(1)Kimmy S.
I love this diner! The service was great, the food was delicious, and the portion sizes even filled up my boyfriend ( which is very hard to do). The most interesting thing about this diner is the bread basket. The cheese rolls are like Danish. Sounds weird, but was really delicious! Definitely check this place out.
(5)Ian L.
Definitely one of the better diners in the greater Philadelphia area. I came here for the first time a few days ago on a rather crowded day, and it left a good enough impression on me that I'll definitely be back again! The food was both cheap and very decent for diner food, but what struck me was how fast the service was. It took less than 10 minutes from the time I sat down to when my food was laid out on the table in front of me.
(5)Mike S.
Love their food!!! Gigantic menu, and their pancakes are the best I've ever had. Large portions too. Very good value, though their appetizers are pricey for a diner. Great Bakery selections/case. They are sister to the Phoenixville Diner which is legendary.
(5)Dinah L.
Very busy place on the weekends but it's worth it. Good food too.
(4)Aurora C.
I can't think of anything I really like about this place. The food is overpriced and bland, the service is terrible, and there's always a huge wait to get in. I've tried this place a few times, and I'll tell you about some of my experiences. One time, we were in a hurry and we went because it was convenient and close by (and on this day, there was no wait). We made it clear to our waitress that we had time constraints and she said, "Aint my problem", and then proceeded to not come back to take our food order for a good 10-12 minutes. Another time I went with my sister, mother and grandmother. The food was merely okay, and our waitress was unfriendly and definitely had an attitude problem. She mumbled the whole time, and when my 87-year old grandmother asked her to repeat herself, the waitress told her to get a hearing aid! How rude! The desserts look way better than they taste, and while the portions of the entrees are large, the food is bland and tasteless. Why do people wait in a line to come to this train-wreck of a dining establishment, when they could just go right down the street and get good food at Andy's Diner (or one of the other 2,000 establishments on Baltimore Pike)?
(1)Grace M.
Just ended up here by accident and boy are we glad we did! There was a wait to get in at 1:00 pm, which is a good sign. Waited only a few minutes and were overwhelmed by the HUGE menu - omg it was so hard to decide because everything looked so good at the other tables. Finally settled on the greek trio (pastichio, moussaka and spanikopita) - and boy was I glad. Hard to decide which was the best - all so yummy. Husband had the french dip and could only eat half even though he was starving - it was that big! Ended with the lemon meringue pie - oh so good. The best part of the whole meal - our waitress. She was so attentive and nice and also helpful with the menu. Wish we lived closer to this diner so we could go back again.
(4)Rob H.
Went here without reservations (do not know if you need or can make them) on Saturday around 5:30, no problem, were seated immediately, got a booth. Quick service, good food. My wife had a fish wrap & I had a seafood platter. Vegetable servings were good sized and in a separate dish and not on plate with entree. I always get a coleslaw and was happy with theirs. Seafood not as good as I would like, I will have to try something different next time. Plan to go back again soon.
(4)Emily D.
I've been to much better diners, but I've also been to much worse. Service is okay. We used to always go to Giola and Giola only because she was the only person who took care of us. She no longer works there so I never really come here anymore. We try it because on Thursdays they have split pea soup and that's my favorite. Food is hit or miss.. One time I got a burger and fries and while I'm eating my fries, I kept thinking "someone in here smells terrible".. and when I bit into my burger I spit it right out and knew that's where the smell was coming from. It tastes like old rotten meat. It was so disgusting. They offered me other things to eat but I couldn't, that experience ruined this place for me for a while. Now I only order the same thing EVERY time I go because I'm afraid to get meat again. The desserts look pretty but to me don't taste very good.. I was hoping this place would be better because there aren't many other good diners around... One other thing that bugs me about this place is when they seat you, they pretty much just grab menus and go... They don't say "follow me" or anything.. They just quick place the menus down and walk away... Just terrible customer service.
(3)Michael K.
ate here with beautiful woman i always yelp and it got good reviews. i thought my omelet with spinach and mushroom was just ok. the waitress was downright strange. no thank you.
(2)Internet S.
Was ok. For a diner that wasn't all that busy it took a while to our food. It wasn't that hot either. It was semi flavorful. I had the Texas bbq burger deluxe that came with fries and onion rings. Asked for medium and got well done. Cost was $8.95. The waitress seemed ok and tended to us ok. It might be a while before I try going back.
(2)Kristen H.
Like most diners, the service here is very quick. However, I feel like the food is so-so. It's not great and it's not terrible. I ordered breakfast for the first time, I usually get dinner or appetizers. I ordered a belgian waffle and it was pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the breakfast sausage. I also tried a piece of black forest cake during a previous trip, it was really stale and nasty. I usually only come here when nothing else is open, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
(3)Nunya B.
I was excited about the Liberty diner opening, and when I discovered that it was a pile of shit I had given up hope for a good diner in the area. So when I saw the Springfield Diner being built I was ready for some Baltimore Pike redemption. Thankfully, the owners have their priorities right. The place is always clean and there is enough space to seat all of delco, so I never have to wait. The food is diner quality: nothing special, exactly what you'd expect. Always fresh. They have all the standards you go to a diner for and the staff is very friendly. This diner is what i was waiting for in Springfield and I'm glad it's here. Not gonna lie, it is a tad bit too expensive. If the quality matched the prices I would be here all the time. Instead it's perfect for an occasional Sunday breakfast or a late night out.
(3)Kim B.
Four stars for a diner! This is the one of two diners that my family will go to. This is a large dinner, so the table turn over is fairly quick. However the weekend breakfast wait can be up to 45 minutes. I can shop and make breakfast for my entire family during that amount of time. I have been disappointed by many diners. Because of that I have diner order rules. For example, if the diner can't get pancakes and eggs right I don't return. We have never been disappointed with the service or menu items. I would definitely recommend this place.
(4)Jeffrey K.
Stopped in here for Sunday breakfast with about 12 other family members while we were briefly in town. Considering we were a big party, they sat us quickly and the waitress stayed on top of us and took very good care of everyone at the table. We all ordered a good size breakfast, and I found the eggs (omlets), to be tasty and very fresh . . . you can definitely tell the difference between fresh and quality fillings in a Greek omelet and fillings which have been standing around a while. What was most pleasing was the fact that a meal for as many people as we had in our party was well UNDER $100. Not exactly sure how . . . I don't think the waitress messed up the check (although I could be wrong). In New York, this would have been well OVER $100. Other family members who came into town the evening before had dinner here too and said it was very good as well. Between quality, freshness, staff and the check . . . if I come back through here again, I am stopping in.
(5)C. K. B.
I'm really shocked to see some of the rave reviews, or maybe I came on a bad night? Went for dinner one night and I had fried shrimp and my friend had turkey, both were just o.k. but the side dishes that came with them were really my issue, yuck! Maybe breakfast is better! Seeing the crowds and the lines at this place made me think it was something really special, so disappointing, I guess a diner is a diner after all. Maybe I'll try coming for breakfast sometime.
(2)Van N.
The service is horrible here. We sat for 15 minutes while our waitress was talking to her friends at the table behind us. Not even a glass of water was brought over. We had to wave down a couple of people and the supervisor/manager came over to take our order. She only approached our table once and asked if someone already came by. Already? More like finally. Then she passed us off to the waiter. The food was ok. Diner food. Would I come back? I'd rather go elsewhere an get better service for the same food and price.
(1)Kristen G.
A diner with BIG stuff - BIG menu, BIG portions, BIG seating area and BIG dessert case. Although this newly-opened greasy spoon on the Pike is always jammed, you won't wait long to get seated. We've eaten there twice - both times for dinner on a whim. It is what you'd come to expect as far as diner fare goes. The service is ok. They sort of rush you in and out but that is to be expected. It's a bit loud and frantic, at least the dinner crowd seemed to be. Ultimately, I'd go back, and most definitely to try breakfast. It's hard to screw that up, right? :)
(3)Richard Y.
I went to The Springfield diner for the first time this morning I had the best time Ever the portions were Huge and the price was cool I will go back and I will let my friends know about this place .
(5)Anonymous G.
I usually think of diners as having great comfort food nothing fancy. The food here is disgusting. I only tasted two things, the burger and the chicken salad. The burger cannot possibly be the angus beef they claim, unless it is the buttholes of the angus because it smelled. The chicken salad, which the waitress obviously fibbed when she said it was made in house, was disgusting with old hard pieces of chicken. I can't complain about the service or the decor, but I am sooo grateful I did not get sick. Thinking about the food their turns my stomach.
(1)Brandi H.
No, no, and no thank you. This place makes me severely miss authentic cafes in Los Angeles. Did I mention severely?
(1)Michael W.
I will admit the food is good but the service is the worst. The waiters and waitress' rush you in and out and the managers love to talk bad and laugh about their guest behind their backs, which I find very rude being as though the guest are the reason why the diner is open. On three different occasions I saw the management staff actually arguing with the guest which is not at all how you handle business. If you want a quick meal this is the place to go but if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal without being rushed then this is not the place. Next time you go watch how the staff interacts with other customers to understand what I mean. It's almost as if they look down on us Americans
(2)Mark H.
Every time we go in here, we are still stunned by the size of the menu. What impresses me even more is the fact that I have never had a bad meal here yet. They truly have the perfect balance of having a gigantic variety and doing it all well. Despite the owners Egyptian heritage, they have a particularly great handle on Greek food. Their tzatziki sauce is to die for. Their specials are the best, too. On Wednesday nights, there is an extra-special special. Stuffed Cabbage. My favourite! I've only ever had one bad experience here, and it was that they ran out of stuffed cabbage. A diner A++.
(5)Robert D.
Eggshells in my pancakes!! Otherwise...... Ok i guess
(2)Joe S.
The Springfield Diner is just OK and nothing more than that. I've eaten here at least a half-dozen times now simply out of convenience, but I've never had anything that is especially great. Breakfast, Italian, BBQ, chicken entrees, etc. -- all just so-so. Even their iced tea is bland. Most of the items are not badly priced so if even the food is consistantly average, it's not overpriced. Personally, I have not found the food portions to be a 'big' as some have characterized them to be. Maybe I've just ordered all the wrong things, but most of my dishes have been pretty average in size. The baked shells and the fried chicken portions were actually kind of small overall. The service has been pretty good overall so no complaints there. I think all of the waitresses -- at least after the first time we went there -- have all been nice enough and attentive. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the Springfield Diner as a place you need to try, but I wouldn't say stear clear of it either. Just keep your expectations in check and maybe you'll be able to find that wonderful menu item that has, thus far, eluded my stomach.
(3)Nic W.
My husband and I went there for breakfast about a month after they opened, and we will never return. The place was packed, so we thought the food must be phenomenal. I mean, there are plenty of diners in the area, so why flock to the Springfield Diner, right? The service was slow, the waitress confused, and the food was awful. I ordered their eggs benedict--the hollandaise was broken and gross, and the eggs were not anywhere near poached...the yolk was straight-up solid cooked. I'm confused as to why this place continues to be busy.
(1)J F.
Though it might blind you on a sunny day, the all-out chrome building that is the Springfield Diner has some great breakfast food. The bacon is crisp, the eggs fluffy, and the home fries browned to perfection. There's plenty of parking, and even so, this place fills up, so that should say something in and of itself. The price is above average for a diner; it's also an above average diner. Have had some great and some not-so-great servers, but, for the most part, an excellent place to eat!
(4)Clelia S.
Pretty good paninis for a diner. Everything was pretty fresh.
(4)Justin T.
Had breakfast here recently. One of the best meals I've had here in recent visits. I have had the burger which was totally bland here before and the calimari - save your digestive system on that one it's literally Styrofoam deep fried.
(2)Chuck M.
Stopped in for breakfast after weeks of driving past and noticing the full parking area and crowds. Makes sense, excellent breakfast, service, spartan surroundings. I will try dinner at a later date. Thumbs up
(4)D C.
have never had a bad meal coming here. The staff is very courteous and the food/price is very satisfying. I enjoy going there very much.
(4)Evann G.
I don't like diners. But if I'm going to eat at one, I'll choose this one. They have cheese blintzes on the breakfast menu, which I appreciate. Always crowded - always.
(3)George M.
I just want to put in my recommendation for the Springfield Diner. Ate there 4 times and each visit was and enjoyable meal. Attentive service, very fresh food, very good prices and a menu selection that is mind boggling.
(5)Maryanne M.
I have to say they definitely improved since the first time I was there.. Great and friendly staff. Delicious Belgian waffle.. (although I should have been eating the diet plate) very good blintzes. This place is now a staple.. definitely go there a few times a year.
(4)Leonard N.
We stopped by for dinner today. The food was okay but the service left a lot to be desired.
(2)Ken F.
Ate there tonight for maybe the 7th time so far this year. We liked it at first but its a cattle farm. they are efficient and get you seated but have had soups and salads completely forgotten, given a glass that leaked water for so long (waitress wouldn't even look our way and i don't yell accross dining floors) we had to use napkins to prevent it from washing onto the floor. Food is not bad but tonight my wife got chicken that was raw. The food overall is very good for a diner but as has been mentioned, not everything should be served in a diner. i was VERY disappointed with my golden fried chicken. Wing and leg were the most anemic things i have ever seen, breast was misshapen and the taste of the meat was "funny". It made me start to wonder if this chicken wasn't actually sick when they slaughtered it. I doubt we will be back.
(3)Enay V.
typical diner food - so much to choose from & all was really really good. Place is nice & clean & really cool. May be back for breakfast the next time I'm in the area :)
(4)Mary Theresa A.
Two trips there in one week, say no more! Attractive new building, no expense was spared to decorate this diner. I had the luncheon special portion of mousska (huge), $8.95 includes soup or salad and dessert (for $1.00 more you can choose from any of the fabulous looking layer cakes). I chose the chocolate mousse cake which is definitely big enough to share. Today, I enjoyed a spinach and cheese omelet with REAL sliced potato home fries. No dessert today. I'll be back!
(5)J R.
Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning, very busy. We were seated fairly quickly, the food was plentiful and served quickly, the server was attentive and polite. I was a little nervous to go reading the previous reviews but our visit was enjoyable and I will return.
(4)Leona T.
Great food, large portions, good staff . . . good timing . . . only downside is the temperature control - it can be really cold at times depending on where you are seated, otherwise this is a great place to eat - especially with family.
(3)Brian R.
We were staying at the Day's Inn down the street and I asked the desk staff where they would suggest going for breakfast. They all said the Springfield Diner, we stopped by around 8am on Wednesday and it wasn't very busy. The waitress was very nice and attentive. My girlfriend picked the ham and cheese omelet and I went with the standard breakfast special. (Eggs, toast, home fries and sausage) I choice the sausage links or the patties and they were natural casing and very tasty. The home fries had so much flavor, my girlfriend wished they were crispier but they were still very good. She liked her omelet and the prices were very fair. When we come back to Philly again we will stay in this area again and will come back to this diner!
(5)William S.
We were told by one of my husbands clients that this was a great place to eat...he lives in Delaware, we live about 1/4 mile from the diner and have never eaten there! We stopped in for lunch and even though it was very busy, we were seated right away. The menu is big and the prices are very reasonable...the portions are hugh! The food was so good! I had the Eggplant parmesan sandwich and my husband had the California Burger...my sandwich was delish (I could only eat half) and my husband ate every bite of his burger which he told me was great! Both of us cook and love to go out but hate to be ripped off at restaurants and this will definitely be our "go to" place for eating out. No more chain restaurants for us...which is about all that is in Springfield. Our waitress, Precious, was very pleasant and checked back with us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything. She knows how to treat a customer. She was very sweet and hard working. The dessert case looked amazing and everything is made in their own bakery which is in the building. We were too full to indulge, but now know where to go if we have a sweet tooth attack late at night...it all looked so good! We took a take out menu for home as I think we'll let someone else do the cooking this summer...This was our first time here and we will definitely become regulars at this spot.
(5)Craig C.
I am surprised at the good reviews I see. I had a horrible dinner here, the food is gross, not edible! Cheeseburgers are really not good, low quality beef, and tastes crappy. Also had fried chicken basket that was not to be desired. The vegetables were cold! The service sucked, they could care less. The owners stand around like nazis, yet dont ask how your food was?! The only thing that is safe, is breakfast, thats it.
(2)Cathe K.
our experience was not memorable. 6 in out party. soup was servied cold. shrimpcoctal looked like it sat out not in ice. looked old, was very tough and chewy. lobster tail was very hard to eat string and tough cooked too long. fish was fried but itcurled up on ends, spaghetti had no taste very bland. good turkey dinner, good parmesan eggplant, steak too fatty. only telling you this because we spent a lot of money for a bland evening out. hope you get a better kitchen staff. waitress was good thank god our we would have thought twice and walked. Senior citizen do not have all tha extra cash for uneventful food. . Lovely décor. Deserts were very dry.

I stopped in one evening after a night out at the Comedy Club in town with three other girlfriends. It was in the wee hours of the morning somewhere around 4 a.m.. We ordered 2 Seafood Combination Platters & 2 Breakfast Combination Platters. They were all more than generous with the Portion Sizes & Taste was Great. Everone had Doggy Bags to carry home. The atmosphere was festive with the Dessert Cases taking Front & Center. We salivated just glancing at the picture perfect Thank goodness we were too full to try anything else at that time(made a return date promise for dessert only next week). The bill was much less than we anticipated given the huge portion sizes & the quality of the Seafood Dishes, as well as the breakfast foods. The waitress was very attentive & helpful when we informed her that it was our first time there, making suggestions that really helped with our confusion. Substitutions were not a problem for any of the Dishes. Gotta say there should be more places like this one. I recommend this eatery for anyone that wants Value & Quality We "will Be Back"

I was visiting the area for the first time and was fortunate to discover the Springfield Diner while driving along Baltimore Pike. The almost full parking lot indicated to me this may be a good choice and it was on this Sunday evening, Oct. 23, 2011. The menu was very extensive with a great variety and especially those deserts on display when entering the diner. I had the turkey diner with sides of baked potato and glazed carrots and also the beef barley soup. The turkey was fresh from the turkey not the deli type turkey slices some places serve and the dressing included sliced apples and white grapes which gave it a wonderful flavor. Springfield Diner is not the ordinary diner, it is very large and modern with efficient pleasant servers. If ever again in the area, I will return to the Springfield Diner.
