As a frequent visitor to the area, I've eaten Bertuccis numerous times over the last 4 years in the company of family. While it started out as pretty good, this restaurant has really gone downhill. Food quality, which was acceptable but not great to begin with has declined to the point that I won't go back. This is not to say that you might not get an acceptable entree once in awhile--they have a large menu. Pizza is--meh. Mediocre crust with sparse toppings--overall bland taste. The basics--lasagna, eggplant parmesan are sometimes OK. Their specials--the promotional items at the front of the menu have been beyond disappointing. Recently I have been actually shocked by the lack of care and quality put into the various specials ordered at our table. This is Sysco dining --reheated frozen entrees delivered by those big tractor trailers--and it tasted like it. The last time we visited on a quiet evening with few customers. I was amazed by the indifference of the wait staff--even when greeted by friendly customers one of whom was over 80. This is not to say all the servers are like that all of the time, but....wow. No one paid attention to the table. We waited for more than 45 minutes for the food. I am embarrassed that I just didn't walk out. The only explanation perhaps is that the crowds that flood the place on weekend nights must lead to an "I don't care" attitude in front of the house and in the kitchen.

I've now been there twice. The first time being over a year ago but I walked away happy. This most recent visit was a completely different story... After a 45 minute wait to be seated we were starving. The waitress was pleasant enough but clearly new, which she confirmed rather quickly. It took 10 minutes just to have our basket of bread brought out and another 10 minutes to receive our oil, which I fondly remembered enjoying though this time was inedible. Shortly after we received our bread, a plate of plain pasta was brought out, and not by our waitress. It was what my daughter had ordered though we were confused as to why it was being brought out without our food. The person serving it was as confused as us. We found out a bit later that it was meant for another table. By the time we received our own meals I was beyond starving but my spaghetti and meatballs was served without meatballs and the sauce was watery. My husbands lasagna was served with no sauce causing the top layer of noodle to be crunchy and unpleasant. We discussed this with our waitress who said the restaurant was under new ownership and that that was the way it was meant to be. Needless to say the entire evening was miserable. Even forgiving the faults of a new waitress, the food was the price of the Olive Garden but the quality was about the worst I've found since moving to the area. We will not be returning.

I used to live right near here, so I have been there a few times. It's like a slightly (and only slightly) better version of Olive Garden. The pizza is ok, the entrees were clearly put together by 18-year-old "chefs" in the back using the microwave heavily. You can get out of there for like $20/person with tip but why? I only ever went when my more frugal friends wanted to go out but 1) didn't want to spend a lot and 2) didn't want to go into Philly. Don't go.

I love this restaurant, not only is the pizza surprisingly refreshing but the chicken tortellini dish is amazing...I always ask for extra sauce or it does get too dry. Last time I went with my boyfriend, we also got the appetizer sampler and everything they offered, wings, bruschetta, fried cheese, etc...omg it's a meal itself! Just add a side salad for each and it would be great to share!

i liked all of the food. i ordered the tuscan chicken wings as the appetizer and they had a nice fresh grilled look and taste. for the main course i had the individual ultimate bertucci's pizza and that was very good. Does not taste like your neighborhood pizza, much better than.

An ok place to eat. The pizza is tasty, made in a brick oven and most of the dishes are acceptable. What draws me back, though, is the bread brought to the table, with the garlic olive oil for dipping. The bread turns a mediocre chain resturant into an OK one.

Being served cracked glasses to drink out of should have told me to leave in advance. The restaurant was not even forty percent crowded, yet it took forty-five minutes to receive our meals. My sister's, brother's and mother's chicken parmigiana was not made correctly. I asked for little ricotta cheese on my pepperoni calzone, instead, it was smothered with ricotta cheese, not to mention it was the size of two and a half hot pockets melted together. I called for the manager, whom immediately apologized and stated he would have a pepperoni pizza cooked ASAP, which I asked for instead of another makeshift hot pocket. ASAP means twenty minutes to them. To top it off, they baked the pepperonis inside the cheese. They reduced the bill a notable portion, reflecting, as the manager stated, the poor quality of everything.

Actually that would be 2 1/2 stars. This place is what it is, and that is a generic chain Italianish restaurant. The menu items are tired and boring. Obviously in chain restaurant fashion wanting to cater to the masses of boring Americans. The best thing about this place are the bread rolls they give you upon ordering. The wait staff has always been very good. I have two young kids, so dining out options are kind of limited. Prices are typical of these kinds of places. I must say this. This place beats The Olive Garden hands down.

It is obvious this place is a chain, and it is also obvious that much of their food is not freshly prepared by any sort of qualified chefs. This place is on par with the likes of the Olive Garden. The food was decent enough for the money, the atmosphere was very substandard, and the service was just okay. Since none of these factors were outstanding, I don't think I will be returning anytime soon (not by any fault of the restaurant, it's simply that they aren't that unique). I should have gone up the road to Carrabbas, an Italian chain that I prefer over all others. But I digress. For my appetizer I got a Caesar salad. The romaine was crisp, but lacked any substantial amount of dressing, so it basically just tasted like... lettuce. The croutons were also bland. For my entree I ordered their "Silano" brick oven pizza. The crust was nice and crisp. The broccoli and chicken were marinated in something that they did not indicate, and tasted okay. It was supposed to have a creamy cheese sauce, but it must have been lacking much of it, since the pizza overall was very dry. My companion ordered their chicken and steak combo, which looked pretty humdrum as well. I wouldn't recommend this place at all for anyone looking for a unique dining experience, because what you will get is something plain and ordinary. If you are ever on Baltimore Pike in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and want some good Italian, don't stop here, go about a half mile down the road to the Springfield mall and try Carrabbas, you won't be dissapointed.

I can't seem to ever avoid coming here. I love Italian food and I want to see Bertucci's improve. This location has so much potential. Anyway, my husband and I stopped here a few weeks ago for dinner. We did have to wait for a booth, which I didn't understand because it wasn't that busy. There were plenty of empty chairs in the place. Our waiter, I can't remember his name (unfortunately), greeted us shortly after we sat down. He was very cheerful, which you don't see much of at Bertucci's nowadays. He took our drink orders and even took our dinner orders! Everything was fast! We received the bread and of course, it was hot and delicious. Our food came just a few minutes after we were done eating the bread. We both enjoyed our meals! The waiter was extremely nice and wasn't afraid to crack a joke or two. Maybe Bertucci's will be turning itself around soon? We can hope, right?

First time to this establishment. Delicious dinner with my beautiful lady. Long story short, I ordered a small brick oven pizza with 4 toppings and my girlfriend ordered shrimp scampi. My order was missing one of the toppings I chose, but I wasn't crying over it. I caught the waitress and told her the situation and asked not to charge me for it, though she looked frightened when I mentioned it. She came back closer to the end of our dinner and told us that her manager made sure our pizza was remade for us because "she felt bad" and that it'll be ready to take home to eat later. My girlfriend and I were shocked, yet pleased for the first time experience we had. Even though we figured it was for tipping purposes, it definitely worked. Overall, I would definitely go again. Interesting fact: this location doesn't have a computer system for seating, it's all done manually on a laminated paper.

We had a great experience here. A bunch of us came here after 3hrs of helping a friend move so we were quite hungry. The service was excellent. We had made reservations so we got seated right away and the waiter was really attentive. The rolls that come out in the beginning were piping hot, so soft. and the olive oil dipping sauce topped it off. so delicious. I could have eaten more of those but I limited myself to the 2. I got the sausage pizza lunch special. portions were decent sized and at only $7.99, along with salad, is an excellent deal.
Meh is the best word to describe it. Their little bread rolls were amazing but overall I wasn't too impressed. There was hardly any sauce on my pasta and the service was incredibly slow. People told me it was a 'nicer Olive Garden' and I thought they were on the same level. There was nothing WOW about this place but I filled up on carbs so I guess it got the job done.

My niece needed to get to Five Below to stock up for school so I took her there after camp. She was hungry so I ordered a small plain pizza. SMALL is the operative word as for over 10-11 Bucks it was maybe 8-9 inches in circumference. Once we got it home she took ONE bite and proclaimed it gross and refused to eat any more. Although gross was a strong term I thought there was nothing particularly good about it. The crust was not crispy. The sauce nondescript. The cheese bland. The price was high for what you get. We always seem to come to Bertuccis expecting so much more and leaving disappointed, I'm not sure why that is. The big selling point here is the rolls. They're hot, fresh, plentiful, and very good. But be ready to fill up on them, because you're going to be there for awhile. It always seems to be busy here, and they always seem short staffed. Its no fault of the servers, they're always hustling and working hard. It seems they just need more staff on hand. You do get seated relatively quickly here, and you'll be waited on quickly...but then you'll wait a very long time for your food. Keep in mind they don't take reservations here, so your mileage may vary for seating times. Speaking of the food, its OK. I don't think I've ever had anything particularly bad here, but it never really blows you away either. Its decent, if slightly bland. Just keep asking for more rolls...they might be terrible for you, but they really are the best thing about this place. Maybe we should try the take out, which they do offer. Avoid the long waits in the restaurant, just enjoy the food? Worth a shot!

I really wanted to like this place, but sadly our take out dinner was less than mediocre. My bf and I decided to split a salami pizza and shrimp scampi to go. I also ordered a side Caesar salad. Let me say the pizza was OKAY, nothing spectacular but not horrible either. The crust was nice and crunch which was good. The shrimp scampi was terrible. It tasted like cheap shrimp that were reheated and thrown in with some white wine sauce that came from a jar. The side salad that came along with it, some lettuce thrown in a container with generic Caesar dressing on the side. I know it's a "chain" restaurant but for those kinds of prices I expect better.

took my mom to Bertucci's last Saturday for her birthday lunch, and as always, the food was very good, but what's prompting me to write this review is the service. The service was outstanding. Our server, Gina was wonderful - She was attentive and kind and provided outstanding service. I certainly hope the people who run Bertucci's in Springfield know what a gem they have in Gina!

Do I have to leave a star? This restaurant is BY WORST the most disgusting Bertucci's I've been to. The rolls were not fully cooked.. I cut ALL 3 open and it looked like dough you could play with. My salad came in a dirty bowl. And to top it off I found a piece of sh!t looking like a snail at the bottom of my pasta while mixing it around. (The waitress didn't even know what it was!!!!) This was the first time I took my boyfriend and as much as he loves pasta, he wanted to go to Pizza Hut for their pasta dish instead. They did, however, take the pasta off my bill but I still am disgusted. Eat at your own risk!

6 adults and 2 kids with allergies on a Saturday night. I'm no waitress but this doesn't seem like a walk in the park to me. Much to my surprise, our waitress was WONDERFUL. I think her name was Gina. She was so pleasant and funny. Really made us enjoy our experience. Besides Gina, I wanted to make a review explaining how pleased we all were with how this location handled 2 kids with allergies. My nephew has a severe egg and milk allergy. Only one type of pasta that Bertucci's has on their menu doesn't include egg. Although this is egg-free pasta, it is boiled in the same water that egg-pasta is. When Gina told us this, we told her he could eat rolls for now and when we get home, we'd get him something and we appreciated her efforts. A few minutes later, the manager and head chef came out to speak with my sister-in-law. They said as soon as they get an open burner, they would make a pot of water specially for his pasta. The restaurant was packed, being 6:00 on a Saturday night, and they ended up being able to make room on the burner (which I'm sure were all full) for a separate pot of water to make pasta for my nephew. Sure, it came out when we were half done our meals but it was the thought that counts. I was so floored at how understanding and accommodating our server, the manager and the head chef were I just had to tell Yelp users. Definitely impressed by this Bertucci's. Will be returning.

Average late night spot. They have a lot of specials going on usually. The flat breads are good as well as some of the pastas. It is a little on the salty side for my taste buds. Drinks are average as well. this place is if you are looking for dinner or lunch and do not want to spend a lot of money. Bread is served before your entree's. It is really good!

Went for lunch. Unlimited insalata came only after I had to ask the waiter about it. Bill came with $11 overcharge. Instead of 7.99 for the crab cakes from the lunch menu, I was charged 18.99 from the dinner menu. Manager "fixed" it but still overcharged me $1 - 8.99 instead of the listed price of 7.99.

I decided to go out for an Italian dinner while on a business trip in Philadelphia. I found this one on the way home from work. The service staff was very good and the prices aren't bad. I gave it the less than average rating because the pasta was under cooled. For an Italian restaurant to serve raw pasta is just a lack of attention to detail. But the chicken dish I had was very good. Might be worth a second chance if I have time.

I've been here for lunch in the past and today's experience was very much in line with all previous visits, PERFECT. Their lunch special is incredible, unlimited bread and salad plus a personal brick oven-pizza or sandwich for $7.99. Their pizzas are large, the salad is always a hit and I think I burnt myself on the bread (right out of the oven). Could not have been happier with the service or the food.

Within the Italian chain restaurant realm, I feel this is one of the better ones. However, I must add a disclaimer to this. I went to Bertucci's for the first time in Swampscott, MA almost 20 years ago. That day, I fell in love with their chicken, prosciutto, and ricotta calzones. So much so that every time I go to a Bertucci's, that's what I get. So you really can't ask me how the entrees are. Honestly, given that I generally don't have great experiences with entrees at Italian chain restaurants, I'm afraid that getting one will ruin my opinion of the Bertucci's chain. Maybe I'm wrong. But I believe that when it really comes down to it, you can't go wrong with their brick oven offerings. I got yet another one of my calzones this past weekend, and finished it off happily. The wife enjoyed the Spicy Salami pizza very much. I tasted it and it has a more unexpected pepper tang to it than you'd think. We both enjoyed the warm rolls and sausage soup. And I will add this... I like the idea of a huge bowl of Caesar Salad to share for $6.95. Though someone else said it... the croutons are hard. I swear those things might take out a filling. Service was excellent. Steve, our waiter, seemed to read my mind when I needed drink refills. Kudos to him, and give him a raise! If you asked me to rank them, I will go to a Bertucci's every time over an Olive Garden or a Carrabba's. I can't put them above Maggiano's, but then again Bertucci's is better if you're in the mood for a more reasonable meal rather than a huge meal.

Baked salmon over fresh spinach was the perfect lunch I was craving. We were there for lunch so a salad for the table was included and it was pretty good! I was trying to avoid the rolls but they came out warm and I couldn't resist. Our server was a lovely young lady with so much enthusiasm and spunk. She even helped out my dad by giving him a dish he wanted (which was on the dinner menu) but in a lunch portion. Very nice of her. Overall not bad for a chain, nothing over the top spectacular but warm and comfy.

Consistently good food. At times the service at the bar is hit or miss (this is the only area we ever sit). I always order the Bertucci pizza, huge and always leftovers for a few days, my favorite section is the meatball pizza. Right now they are running cheap appetizers ($3-$4) and great drink specials from 4:00pm to close in the bar area. The appetizers are normal sizes so you are getting a great value...and the best drink deal is PBR, under $2.00 for a pint!!!

To be honest, I could give this place a 4 star rating, but based on two separate visits here, I won't. Don't get me wrong, the food is really good here, as well as the bar drinks. Can't complain there! But the servers sometimes have attitudes, to the point they had a full fledged argument with the kitchen guys right in front of our table (we were seated right near the open kitchen ). Unprofessional to say the least. The other "bad" experience while dining here my hubby chomped down on a olive pit on a pizza. The manager in both instances comped us , the argument one was a full comp, the latter hubby's pizza was free. That is great, but like I said, the servers themselves, it's kind of hit and miss. I'd much rather go to a more upscale place for Italian, if given the choice, just because of the servers here, and sometimes the patrons that dwell.

Went to Bertucci's tonight since it's always a good meal for a good price and it's kid friendly to our daughter....let me just say, I hope that tonight was just an off night and that our Bertucci's is falling apart. First, it seemed as if the 3 hosts/hostesses couldn't decide where to sit us despite the fact that restaurant wasn't crowded at all at 5pm. Then we figured it out as were crammed into the "cafeteria" sytle back room. You would think that with all the guests in one are, taking care of customer needs would be easy. Think again. First, it took us about 10 minutes to be greeted and our drink order taken, after I traded the hostess for another menu, since mine was covered in sticky soda that stuck to my hands. Then we got our drinks, good blood orange margarita by the way....however, it took another 15 minutes for the waiter to realize that he wasn't even sure whether or not we ordered. We then had to ask for rolls. At this point, we were starving! My soup came out quickly but it was ice cold and didn't see the waiter for another 10 minutes to tell him. No real apology...he just took it away. So now we're 35 minutes seated and have eaten bread. Our food was delivered then, which meant my soup and pizza came at the same time. Soup was tasty and hot and the pizza and entree were good. However, we needed drink refills and again had to flag down our waiter to let him know. Finally, we asked for boxes and my daughter's ice cream, which came with her meal. We got the boxes but no ice cream. Check came a minute later, and this was the friendliest I had seen the waiter all night. $48 later (before tip) I left in a bad mood. What happened to Bertucci's?

Every now and then when my wife says "I don't feel like cooking, where are we going to dinner?" the name Bertucci's pops into my head. I'm very forgetful, so it must be my subconscious reminding me how much I love their rolls and pizza. When we go out with our four kids in tow, it's a big deal and a very rare event, and we want to go to a place where we know we will like the food. The freshly made rolls that are served still warm are amazing. Immediately after the waiter drops the rolls off, my mouth is watering uncontrollably while I break open the crispy crust to reveal the soft fluffy interior, then dipping (well, dredging really) the hunk of bread into the oil. There are not many things that make me struggle more with self control than trying to refrain from having a 3rd, 4th, 5th roll before my dinner has even arrived. Then the pizza comes. I almost always order the Margherita. The sauce is always delicious and is perfectly accompanied by fresh mozzarella cheese and basil. I order the individual (which is plenty of food for one, especially after the complimentary rolls) but I think I could polish off a large. I'm not the biggest fan of most chain restaurants, but I'm rarely disappointed when I visit Bertucci's. Most of the time I leave stuffed and extremely satisfied.

Went here for dinner on Saturday night. It was a bit crowded but we got a table pretty quickly. The service was just o.k. I wasn't impressed since we had to look for our waiter during the meal. The food is o.k. this is a chain restaurant, after all. If you're looking for some pasta or pizza, this is an o.k. place to go to. Prices are good and the food is o.k. I had a salad, which was tasty, and pasta with chicken which was a little dry and bland, although I think salt is their main spice. The rolls were just out of the oven baked, but, to me undercooked and doughey for my taste. We need some better restaurants in Delco.

Bertucci's is my favorite family restaurant. Yes, its a chain restaurant but that's not always a bad thing. Food is very fresh, pizzas are great and service is usually very good. The restaurant is clean and usually no wait to get seated. Prices are reasonable but bill can creep up depending on order. If just pizza and soda not bad $, but appetizers + entrees + drinks can get up there. I'll take this place over Olive Garden or Carrabb's any day.

I feel kind of weird reviewing a chain restaurant but I always have a good time at Bertucci's, at least as far as this location goes. The service is always timely and the food is delicious. I've seen a guy I went to high school with working there a few times and it almost looks like he might be running the show, so kudos to him on. Job well done.

What a great time we had a lunch. Can't remember the last time my wife and I went out for lunch, but Bertucci's really was great. John is an exceptional waiter - knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, helpful. He seems like a great guy, has been there 8 years, knew ingredients (to the highest level, unlike most waiters elsewhere), watched out for my food allergy (onions), made suggestions, and even told us how to pop open the left-overs take-home containers (in the microwave, give them a few seconds and then they're easier to pop off). Average chain restaurant. I admit to enjoying the bread and olive oil dip the servers bring you after you're seated. Beyond that, I've never had more than a mediocre experience with the food at Bertucci's. Recently we stopped by for lunch, and I had one of their new salads--I think it was called the salmon mediterranean or something like that. With the exception of the greens themselves, I'm pretty sure everything had been frozen at some point, including the anemic plum tomato that served as sort of a garnish. So . . . yeah. Nothing special here, but not so bad you worry about food poisoning.

I'm pretty sure everyone has covered the fact that this place is a chain. awesome. ok. well, let's be negative first since it's shorter... Bertucci's pizza makes my stomach want to cave in and devour me. Really, if I eat it, i will be doubled over in a matter of minutes begging for my companion to drive me home asap so i can lock myself in the bathroom. My solution, i don't order the pizza (i'm really smart). ok...the positives... I have NEVER received such great/friendly service at a *gasp* CHAIN restaurant before. zombies? Maybe you went there on an off night or something, but my experience has been the exact opposite every single time I've been in there. I've been in during the lunch rush (free salad p.s.) and only had an hour...and they did it with a smile! I've been there for dinner when they were slow and dinner when they were busy and every time I've been greeted and served by a super nice funny person. There is a weird thing though... Every single time I go, they give me about 3 baskets of rolls (if you put food on the table, i will eat it, hence me eating the tummy busting pizza more than once) and then, they will bring me a bag packed FULL of rolls and a container of the oil and sometimes even free pasta. Do they do this for other people? I've asked others and they seem shocked. It's really not like I go there that often, maybe once ever 3 or 4 months? I've never had the same server, but they always send me home with a ton of extra food. Perhaps I look homeless or starving... But I like this place. I like the people. I love the rolls. Unfortunately they only have 4 beers on tap which is eh, but I'm there to eat....and obviously to act as a one person garbage disposal for all of their leftovers.

As a frequent visitor to the area, I've eaten Bertuccis numerous times over the last 4 years in the company of family. While it started out as pretty good, this restaurant has really gone downhill. Food quality, which was acceptable but not great to begin with has declined to the point that I won't go back. This is not to say that you might not get an acceptable entree once in awhile--they have a large menu. Pizza is--meh. Mediocre crust with sparse toppings--overall bland taste. The basics--lasagna, eggplant parmesan are sometimes OK. Their specials--the promotional items at the front of the menu have been beyond disappointing. Recently I have been actually shocked by the lack of care and quality put into the various specials ordered at our table. This is Sysco dining --reheated frozen entrees delivered by those big tractor trailers--and it tasted like it. The last time we visited on a quiet evening with few customers. I was amazed by the indifference of the wait staff--even when greeted by friendly customers one of whom was over 80. This is not to say all the servers are like that all of the time, but....wow. No one paid attention to the table. We waited for more than 45 minutes for the food. I am embarrassed that I just didn't walk out. The only explanation perhaps is that the crowds that flood the place on weekend nights must lead to an "I don't care" attitude in front of the house and in the kitchen.

I've now been there twice. The first time being over a year ago but I walked away happy. This most recent visit was a completely different story... After a 45 minute wait to be seated we were starving. The waitress was pleasant enough but clearly new, which she confirmed rather quickly. It took 10 minutes just to have our basket of bread brought out and another 10 minutes to receive our oil, which I fondly remembered enjoying though this time was inedible. Shortly after we received our bread, a plate of plain pasta was brought out, and not by our waitress. It was what my daughter had ordered though we were confused as to why it was being brought out without our food. The person serving it was as confused as us. We found out a bit later that it was meant for another table. By the time we received our own meals I was beyond starving but my spaghetti and meatballs was served without meatballs and the sauce was watery. My husbands lasagna was served with no sauce causing the top layer of noodle to be crunchy and unpleasant. We discussed this with our waitress who said the restaurant was under new ownership and that that was the way it was meant to be. Needless to say the entire evening was miserable. Even forgiving the faults of a new waitress, the food was the price of the Olive Garden but the quality was about the worst I've found since moving to the area. We will not be returning.

I used to live right near here, so I have been there a few times. It's like a slightly (and only slightly) better version of Olive Garden. The pizza is ok, the entrees were clearly put together by 18-year-old "chefs" in the back using the microwave heavily. You can get out of there for like $20/person with tip but why? I only ever went when my more frugal friends wanted to go out but 1) didn't want to spend a lot and 2) didn't want to go into Philly. Don't go.

I love this restaurant, not only is the pizza surprisingly refreshing but the chicken tortellini dish is amazing...I always ask for extra sauce or it does get too dry. Last time I went with my boyfriend, we also got the appetizer sampler and everything they offered, wings, bruschetta, fried cheese, etc...omg it's a meal itself! Just add a side salad for each and it would be great to share!

i liked all of the food. i ordered the tuscan chicken wings as the appetizer and they had a nice fresh grilled look and taste. for the main course i had the individual ultimate bertucci's pizza and that was very good. Does not taste like your neighborhood pizza, much better than.

An ok place to eat. The pizza is tasty, made in a brick oven and most of the dishes are acceptable. What draws me back, though, is the bread brought to the table, with the garlic olive oil for dipping. The bread turns a mediocre chain resturant into an OK one.

Being served cracked glasses to drink out of should have told me to leave in advance. The restaurant was not even forty percent crowded, yet it took forty-five minutes to receive our meals. My sister's, brother's and mother's chicken parmigiana was not made correctly. I asked for little ricotta cheese on my pepperoni calzone, instead, it was smothered with ricotta cheese, not to mention it was the size of two and a half hot pockets melted together. I called for the manager, whom immediately apologized and stated he would have a pepperoni pizza cooked ASAP, which I asked for instead of another makeshift hot pocket. ASAP means twenty minutes to them. To top it off, they baked the pepperonis inside the cheese. They reduced the bill a notable portion, reflecting, as the manager stated, the poor quality of everything.

Actually that would be 2 1/2 stars. This place is what it is, and that is a generic chain Italianish restaurant. The menu items are tired and boring. Obviously in chain restaurant fashion wanting to cater to the masses of boring Americans. The best thing about this place are the bread rolls they give you upon ordering. The wait staff has always been very good. I have two young kids, so dining out options are kind of limited. Prices are typical of these kinds of places. I must say this. This place beats The Olive Garden hands down.

It is obvious this place is a chain, and it is also obvious that much of their food is not freshly prepared by any sort of qualified chefs. This place is on par with the likes of the Olive Garden. The food was decent enough for the money, the atmosphere was very substandard, and the service was just okay. Since none of these factors were outstanding, I don't think I will be returning anytime soon (not by any fault of the restaurant, it's simply that they aren't that unique). I should have gone up the road to Carrabbas, an Italian chain that I prefer over all others. But I digress. For my appetizer I got a Caesar salad. The romaine was crisp, but lacked any substantial amount of dressing, so it basically just tasted like... lettuce. The croutons were also bland. For my entree I ordered their "Silano" brick oven pizza. The crust was nice and crisp. The broccoli and chicken were marinated in something that they did not indicate, and tasted okay. It was supposed to have a creamy cheese sauce, but it must have been lacking much of it, since the pizza overall was very dry. My companion ordered their chicken and steak combo, which looked pretty humdrum as well. I wouldn't recommend this place at all for anyone looking for a unique dining experience, because what you will get is something plain and ordinary. If you are ever on Baltimore Pike in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and want some good Italian, don't stop here, go about a half mile down the road to the Springfield mall and try Carrabbas, you won't be dissapointed.

I can't seem to ever avoid coming here. I love Italian food and I want to see Bertucci's improve. This location has so much potential. Anyway, my husband and I stopped here a few weeks ago for dinner. We did have to wait for a booth, which I didn't understand because it wasn't that busy. There were plenty of empty chairs in the place. Our waiter, I can't remember his name (unfortunately), greeted us shortly after we sat down. He was very cheerful, which you don't see much of at Bertucci's nowadays. He took our drink orders and even took our dinner orders! Everything was fast! We received the bread and of course, it was hot and delicious. Our food came just a few minutes after we were done eating the bread. We both enjoyed our meals! The waiter was extremely nice and wasn't afraid to crack a joke or two. Maybe Bertucci's will be turning itself around soon? We can hope, right?

First time to this establishment. Delicious dinner with my beautiful lady. Long story short, I ordered a small brick oven pizza with 4 toppings and my girlfriend ordered shrimp scampi. My order was missing one of the toppings I chose, but I wasn't crying over it. I caught the waitress and told her the situation and asked not to charge me for it, though she looked frightened when I mentioned it. She came back closer to the end of our dinner and told us that her manager made sure our pizza was remade for us because "she felt bad" and that it'll be ready to take home to eat later. My girlfriend and I were shocked, yet pleased for the first time experience we had. Even though we figured it was for tipping purposes, it definitely worked. Overall, I would definitely go again. Interesting fact: this location doesn't have a computer system for seating, it's all done manually on a laminated paper.

We had a great experience here. A bunch of us came here after 3hrs of helping a friend move so we were quite hungry. The service was excellent. We had made reservations so we got seated right away and the waiter was really attentive. The rolls that come out in the beginning were piping hot, so soft. and the olive oil dipping sauce topped it off. so delicious. I could have eaten more of those but I limited myself to the 2. I got the sausage pizza lunch special. portions were decent sized and at only $7.99, along with salad, is an excellent deal.

I haven't been to a Bertucci's in about 5 years, so I was curious to see how it measured up to other Italian chain restaurants in the area. We went in for a late lunch, so the place was empty. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I had the Cesar salad to start. There was a lot of cheese and a little too much dressing. That being said it was not bad, and it was huge. My entrée was the rigatoni Abruzzi, which was sweet sausage and green peppers in a pomodoro sauce over rigatoni. The sausage had a decent taste. The sauce was bland. I added a lot of parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper to help it out. My wife had the pepperoni pizza. It was excellent! I would say the pizza sets this place apart from Olive Garden and Carrabbas. The only way I would go back here would be if I was getting the pizza.

Meh is the best word to describe it. Their little bread rolls were amazing but overall I wasn't too impressed. There was hardly any sauce on my pasta and the service was incredibly slow. People told me it was a 'nicer Olive Garden' and I thought they were on the same level. There was nothing WOW about this place but I filled up on carbs so I guess it got the job done.

My niece needed to get to Five Below to stock up for school so I took her there after camp. She was hungry so I ordered a small plain pizza. SMALL is the operative word as for over 10-11 Bucks it was maybe 8-9 inches in circumference. Once we got it home she took ONE bite and proclaimed it gross and refused to eat any more. Although gross was a strong term I thought there was nothing particularly good about it. The crust was not crispy. The sauce nondescript. The cheese bland. The price was high for what you get. We always seem to come to Bertuccis expecting so much more and leaving disappointed, I'm not sure why that is. The big selling point here is the rolls. They're hot, fresh, plentiful, and very good. But be ready to fill up on them, because you're going to be there for awhile. It always seems to be busy here, and they always seem short staffed. Its no fault of the servers, they're always hustling and working hard. It seems they just need more staff on hand. You do get seated relatively quickly here, and you'll be waited on quickly...but then you'll wait a very long time for your food. Keep in mind they don't take reservations here, so your mileage may vary for seating times. Speaking of the food, its OK. I don't think I've ever had anything particularly bad here, but it never really blows you away either. Its decent, if slightly bland. Just keep asking for more rolls...they might be terrible for you, but they really are the best thing about this place. Maybe we should try the take out, which they do offer. Avoid the long waits in the restaurant, just enjoy the food? Worth a shot!

I really wanted to like this place, but sadly our take out dinner was less than mediocre. My bf and I decided to split a salami pizza and shrimp scampi to go. I also ordered a side Caesar salad. Let me say the pizza was OKAY, nothing spectacular but not horrible either. The crust was nice and crunch which was good. The shrimp scampi was terrible. It tasted like cheap shrimp that were reheated and thrown in with some white wine sauce that came from a jar. The side salad that came along with it, some lettuce thrown in a container with generic Caesar dressing on the side. I know it's a "chain" restaurant but for those kinds of prices I expect better.

took my mom to Bertucci's last Saturday for her birthday lunch, and as always, the food was very good, but what's prompting me to write this review is the service. The service was outstanding. Our server, Gina was wonderful - She was attentive and kind and provided outstanding service. I certainly hope the people who run Bertucci's in Springfield know what a gem they have in Gina!

Do I have to leave a star? This restaurant is BY WORST the most disgusting Bertucci's I've been to. The rolls were not fully cooked.. I cut ALL 3 open and it looked like dough you could play with. My salad came in a dirty bowl. And to top it off I found a piece of sh!t looking like a snail at the bottom of my pasta while mixing it around. (The waitress didn't even know what it was!!!!) This was the first time I took my boyfriend and as much as he loves pasta, he wanted to go to Pizza Hut for their pasta dish instead. They did, however, take the pasta off my bill but I still am disgusted. Eat at your own risk!

6 adults and 2 kids with allergies on a Saturday night. I'm no waitress but this doesn't seem like a walk in the park to me. Much to my surprise, our waitress was WONDERFUL. I think her name was Gina. She was so pleasant and funny. Really made us enjoy our experience. Besides Gina, I wanted to make a review explaining how pleased we all were with how this location handled 2 kids with allergies. My nephew has a severe egg and milk allergy. Only one type of pasta that Bertucci's has on their menu doesn't include egg. Although this is egg-free pasta, it is boiled in the same water that egg-pasta is. When Gina told us this, we told her he could eat rolls for now and when we get home, we'd get him something and we appreciated her efforts. A few minutes later, the manager and head chef came out to speak with my sister-in-law. They said as soon as they get an open burner, they would make a pot of water specially for his pasta. The restaurant was packed, being 6:00 on a Saturday night, and they ended up being able to make room on the burner (which I'm sure were all full) for a separate pot of water to make pasta for my nephew. Sure, it came out when we were half done our meals but it was the thought that counts. I was so floored at how understanding and accommodating our server, the manager and the head chef were I just had to tell Yelp users. Definitely impressed by this Bertucci's. Will be returning.

Average late night spot. They have a lot of specials going on usually. The flat breads are good as well as some of the pastas. It is a little on the salty side for my taste buds. Drinks are average as well. this place is if you are looking for dinner or lunch and do not want to spend a lot of money. Bread is served before your entree's. It is really good!

I decided to go out for an Italian dinner while on a business trip in Philadelphia. I found this one on the way home from work. The service staff was very good and the prices aren't bad. I gave it the less than average rating because the pasta was under cooled. For an Italian restaurant to serve raw pasta is just a lack of attention to detail. But the chicken dish I had was very good. Might be worth a second chance if I have time.

I've been here for lunch in the past and today's experience was very much in line with all previous visits, PERFECT. Their lunch special is incredible, unlimited bread and salad plus a personal brick oven-pizza or sandwich for $7.99. Their pizzas are large, the salad is always a hit and I think I burnt myself on the bread (right out of the oven). Could not have been happier with the service or the food.

Within the Italian chain restaurant realm, I feel this is one of the better ones. However, I must add a disclaimer to this. I went to Bertucci's for the first time in Swampscott, MA almost 20 years ago. That day, I fell in love with their chicken, prosciutto, and ricotta calzones. So much so that every time I go to a Bertucci's, that's what I get. So you really can't ask me how the entrees are. Honestly, given that I generally don't have great experiences with entrees at Italian chain restaurants, I'm afraid that getting one will ruin my opinion of the Bertucci's chain. Maybe I'm wrong. But I believe that when it really comes down to it, you can't go wrong with their brick oven offerings. I got yet another one of my calzones this past weekend, and finished it off happily. The wife enjoyed the Spicy Salami pizza very much. I tasted it and it has a more unexpected pepper tang to it than you'd think. We both enjoyed the warm rolls and sausage soup. And I will add this... I like the idea of a huge bowl of Caesar Salad to share for $6.95. Though someone else said it... the croutons are hard. I swear those things might take out a filling. Service was excellent. Steve, our waiter, seemed to read my mind when I needed drink refills. Kudos to him, and give him a raise! If you asked me to rank them, I will go to a Bertucci's every time over an Olive Garden or a Carrabba's. I can't put them above Maggiano's, but then again Bertucci's is better if you're in the mood for a more reasonable meal rather than a huge meal.

Baked salmon over fresh spinach was the perfect lunch I was craving. We were there for lunch so a salad for the table was included and it was pretty good! I was trying to avoid the rolls but they came out warm and I couldn't resist. Our server was a lovely young lady with so much enthusiasm and spunk. She even helped out my dad by giving him a dish he wanted (which was on the dinner menu) but in a lunch portion. Very nice of her. Overall not bad for a chain, nothing over the top spectacular but warm and comfy.

Consistently good food. At times the service at the bar is hit or miss (this is the only area we ever sit). I always order the Bertucci pizza, huge and always leftovers for a few days, my favorite section is the meatball pizza. Right now they are running cheap appetizers ($3-$4) and great drink specials from 4:00pm to close in the bar area. The appetizers are normal sizes so you are getting a great value...and the best drink deal is PBR, under $2.00 for a pint!!!

To be honest, I could give this place a 4 star rating, but based on two separate visits here, I won't. Don't get me wrong, the food is really good here, as well as the bar drinks. Can't complain there! But the servers sometimes have attitudes, to the point they had a full fledged argument with the kitchen guys right in front of our table (we were seated right near the open kitchen ). Unprofessional to say the least. The other "bad" experience while dining here my hubby chomped down on a olive pit on a pizza. The manager in both instances comped us , the argument one was a full comp, the latter hubby's pizza was free. That is great, but like I said, the servers themselves, it's kind of hit and miss. I'd much rather go to a more upscale place for Italian, if given the choice, just because of the servers here, and sometimes the patrons that dwell.

Went to Bertucci's tonight since it's always a good meal for a good price and it's kid friendly to our daughter....let me just say, I hope that tonight was just an off night and that our Bertucci's is falling apart. First, it seemed as if the 3 hosts/hostesses couldn't decide where to sit us despite the fact that restaurant wasn't crowded at all at 5pm. Then we figured it out as were crammed into the "cafeteria" sytle back room. You would think that with all the guests in one are, taking care of customer needs would be easy. Think again. First, it took us about 10 minutes to be greeted and our drink order taken, after I traded the hostess for another menu, since mine was covered in sticky soda that stuck to my hands. Then we got our drinks, good blood orange margarita by the way....however, it took another 15 minutes for the waiter to realize that he wasn't even sure whether or not we ordered. We then had to ask for rolls. At this point, we were starving! My soup came out quickly but it was ice cold and didn't see the waiter for another 10 minutes to tell him. No real apology...he just took it away. So now we're 35 minutes seated and have eaten bread. Our food was delivered then, which meant my soup and pizza came at the same time. Soup was tasty and hot and the pizza and entree were good. However, we needed drink refills and again had to flag down our waiter to let him know. Finally, we asked for boxes and my daughter's ice cream, which came with her meal. We got the boxes but no ice cream. Check came a minute later, and this was the friendliest I had seen the waiter all night. $48 later (before tip) I left in a bad mood. What happened to Bertucci's?

Every now and then when my wife says "I don't feel like cooking, where are we going to dinner?" the name Bertucci's pops into my head. I'm very forgetful, so it must be my subconscious reminding me how much I love their rolls and pizza. When we go out with our four kids in tow, it's a big deal and a very rare event, and we want to go to a place where we know we will like the food. The freshly made rolls that are served still warm are amazing. Immediately after the waiter drops the rolls off, my mouth is watering uncontrollably while I break open the crispy crust to reveal the soft fluffy interior, then dipping (well, dredging really) the hunk of bread into the oil. There are not many things that make me struggle more with self control than trying to refrain from having a 3rd, 4th, 5th roll before my dinner has even arrived. Then the pizza comes. I almost always order the Margherita. The sauce is always delicious and is perfectly accompanied by fresh mozzarella cheese and basil. I order the individual (which is plenty of food for one, especially after the complimentary rolls) but I think I could polish off a large. I'm not the biggest fan of most chain restaurants, but I'm rarely disappointed when I visit Bertucci's. Most of the time I leave stuffed and extremely satisfied.

Went here for dinner on Saturday night. It was a bit crowded but we got a table pretty quickly. The service was just o.k. I wasn't impressed since we had to look for our waiter during the meal. The food is o.k. this is a chain restaurant, after all. If you're looking for some pasta or pizza, this is an o.k. place to go to. Prices are good and the food is o.k. I had a salad, which was tasty, and pasta with chicken which was a little dry and bland, although I think salt is their main spice. The rolls were just out of the oven baked, but, to me undercooked and doughey for my taste. We need some better restaurants in Delco.

Bertucci's is my favorite family restaurant. Yes, its a chain restaurant but that's not always a bad thing. Food is very fresh, pizzas are great and service is usually very good. The restaurant is clean and usually no wait to get seated. Prices are reasonable but bill can creep up depending on order. If just pizza and soda not bad $, but appetizers + entrees + drinks can get up there. I'll take this place over Olive Garden or Carrabb's any day.

I'd give this place 3 stars for the food but 4 stars for the pizzas. Their Italian dishes are decent for a chain place but I love the creative pizzas they have, so much variety. Maybe I'm biased for being a pizza love but still so good.

I feel kind of weird reviewing a chain restaurant but I always have a good time at Bertucci's, at least as far as this location goes. The service is always timely and the food is delicious. I've seen a guy I went to high school with working there a few times and it almost looks like he might be running the show, so kudos to him on. Job well done.

What a great time we had a lunch. Can't remember the last time my wife and I went out for lunch, but Bertucci's really was great. John is an exceptional waiter - knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, helpful. He seems like a great guy, has been there 8 years, knew ingredients (to the highest level, unlike most waiters elsewhere), watched out for my food allergy (onions), made suggestions, and even told us how to pop open the left-overs take-home containers (in the microwave, give them a few seconds and then they're easier to pop off). I went today and i am so glad i did! My food was excellent! I had the shrimp with spaghetti dish. Cant think of the proper name but it was delicious. I also had the wings as a appetizer and its taste was so fresh and well seasoned. I am debating if i should go back again cause i am hungry now. But too much carbs is the only reason why i am not back there. And the free rolls and house salad was very good too

Average chain restaurant. I admit to enjoying the bread and olive oil dip the servers bring you after you're seated. Beyond that, I've never had more than a mediocre experience with the food at Bertucci's. Recently we stopped by for lunch, and I had one of their new salads--I think it was called the salmon mediterranean or something like that. With the exception of the greens themselves, I'm pretty sure everything had been frozen at some point, including the anemic plum tomato that served as sort of a garnish. So . . . yeah. Nothing special here, but not so bad you worry about food poisoning.

I'm pretty sure everyone has covered the fact that this place is a chain. awesome. ok. well, let's be negative first since it's shorter... Bertucci's pizza makes my stomach want to cave in and devour me. Really, if I eat it, i will be doubled over in a matter of minutes begging for my companion to drive me home asap so i can lock myself in the bathroom. My solution, i don't order the pizza (i'm really smart). ok...the positives... I have NEVER received such great/friendly service at a *gasp* CHAIN restaurant before. zombies? Maybe you went there on an off night or something, but my experience has been the exact opposite every single time I've been in there. I've been in during the lunch rush (free salad p.s.) and only had an hour...and they did it with a smile! I've been there for dinner when they were slow and dinner when they were busy and every time I've been greeted and served by a super nice funny person. There is a weird thing though... Every single time I go, they give me about 3 baskets of rolls (if you put food on the table, i will eat it, hence me eating the tummy busting pizza more than once) and then, they will bring me a bag packed FULL of rolls and a container of the oil and sometimes even free pasta. Do they do this for other people? I've asked others and they seem shocked. It's really not like I go there that often, maybe once ever 3 or 4 months? I've never had the same server, but they always send me home with a ton of extra food. Perhaps I look homeless or starving... But I like this place. I like the people. I love the rolls. Unfortunately they only have 4 beers on tap which is eh, but I'm there to eat....and obviously to act as a one person garbage disposal for all of their leftovers.
