Arpeggio is just an upscale Olive Garden- unimaginative, tacky, low quality, inauthentic food. The only difference is it's more expensive, and that is certainly not a mark of the food being any better. The pasta is consistently overcooked and lost in whatever cream sauce or dressing they glop on. As my noodles drowned in what should've been a light garlic aioli, so did any hope that I'd find a place in the tri-county area capable of making a pasta dish better than I could at home. As for the "brick oven" claims, I'll believe it when I see it. I am suspicious the pizza is pulled out of a freezer and microwaved on one of those grey "crisping trays" that come with your Bagel Bites. This one star is nothing to do with the service, which is decent as the place is inexplicably busy. I'm considering opening up a restaurant just to save the dignity of Italian food in the Philly burbs.

Went on a busy Friday night. Service was NOT good other than our bus girl - EMILY who totally rocked. We were wishing She was our server. Told her we'd come back when she got promoted. We mean it! And who do restaurants think they are adding 20% gratuity (5 adults & 1 kid) and NOT even telling us? Guess they were hoping for the "double tip" which we ALL have unknowingly done........ Food was very average IF THAT. I never met a brick oven pizza I didn't like - til that night - isn't it suppose to be crispy? Husband said his steak was good - YAY b/c nothing else was. Grilled Calamari should be firm in texture not soggy which mine was. I regret not sending it back - what was I thinking? The good part is the place is BYOB. maybe if you drink enough you won't notice the food/service.............

Great place, go there often. The hummus is excellent, the pizza is always good. Can get crowded and may have a long wait. They do not accept reservations on smaller parties.

Great BYOB in Spring house strip shopping center. Soups are delicious as well as All of their pizzas. You can sit outside in nice weather. They will not seat you until everyone in the party has arrived. Can have long waits on weekends, but it is worth the wait. Lots of good pasta and fish/seafood choices.

My Favorite BYOB!!! This is an awesome Greek restaurant and with personal wine lockers too. The baba ganush is like no other I have tasted and the combo platter lets you experience all of the great Greek appetizers. They have options such as whole wheat dough, and non- fat cheese. The wood burning oven pizzas are awesome and the cajun chicken style caesar salad is a personal favorite. I would also recommend the chicken kabob, crab cakes, and curry chicken pasta. The only bad thing I have to say is even though they have expanded once its still a small place. We waited an hour once to sit exactly 6 inches from the table next to us which is kind of awkward.

Hummus and warm pita bread!!! I'm salivating at the moment(ew) just after I wrote the very first sentence. Their hummus is soooo good. Don't need cucumbers and other shananigans that other restaurants give when you order their hummus because this hummus is THAT good. Arpeggio is one place I truly miss about living in Ambler. Their pesto sauce is ridiculously delicious and I love just about any of their salad choices. Usually, I have no room to eat pizza but I still gorge on that because it's just so good. It's also a BYOB. There's an outdoor seating with clean air(compared to center city). Plus their friendly service is really cherry on top of everything. What's a reason not to go? NADA. If you were too lazy to read the above, the keywords are: DELICIOUS, BYOB, OUTDOOR SEATING, and HUMMUS. PS. They offer their pita bread in either wheat or white. Wheat pita bread is really awesome.

It doesn't get better than this. I have been here on many occassions for lunches with colleagues and friends. I had their salad with calamarie which was terrific. Also, I have had their hummus platter with brick-oven pizza which was also wonderful. You just can't go wrong with this place.

Ate here for the first time and it was very good. Service was solid. My date and I started with the calamari and it was the only negative of the night. It was pretty chewy and a little too fishy. For an entree I ate the eggplant rollatini and it was delicious! Good portion and great tasting!

A gem of a restaurant in terms of food, flavor, and taste. If you want decent pizza this is def. the place to go. But only for the FOOD. On the other hand, the service at this restaurant is pretty pathetic. I don't care if its a high volume restaurant, its not that difficult to smile and greet your customers. The host is quite unfriendly and very straight forward. The servers seemed inexperienced and seem to rush all the customers. Heck I just sat down for about a minute and they asked me if i was already ready to order when I just started to open the menu. I could go on and on about this place about the service I received but its too much of shame that a quality restaurant like this has such crappy service. I still gave over 20% of tip because I wanted to take the high road and I've worked in the restaurant industry and I also know how difficult it is to run. Don't take the tip I gave for granted because its a warning Arpeggio. I will try you 1 more time because of the food. Next time I come you guys better shape up your service or I won't give much gratuity at all. The food is a 5 star, the service is 1 star. = 3 star in my book.

Super fresh ingredients. I think the sampler plate is a must - falafel is great, so is the hummus. Nice pita too. I also had the shrimp and scallop pesto pasta which was great. I live in Philly downtown and I think that although not at par with some of the best that Philly has to offer, Arpeggio does hold it's own in the "burbs" :)

This is my in-laws favorite place in Spring House. Frankly I don't see it. If they served booze maybe I could see another star, but as it stands there are too many italian options to call this one a sure fire winner.

Arpeggio's is definitely one of the best byob's around. Their menu is unique and I always have difficulty deciding. The salads always sound amazing but we tend to go later at night so unfortunately my greens are never as fresh as I'd like them. The house dressing has way too much garlic in it, so be warned. The falafel also has too much garlic. My stomach is still burning. But their pita and hummus is wonderful and from when I ate seafood the crab cake and grilled calamari were really good. The has never really impressed me because there are a few really good brick oven pizzerias around. We love the outdoor seating and the fact that it is a byob! So we prefer to go in the summer, but the atmosphere inside is really nice too. I've heard that the deserts are amazing but their portions are always so large I've not been able to finish them let alone get dessert.

My sister goes to college near by, so whenever I'm there, we go to this restaurant. The food is awesome! Really good portion sizes (not a large amount but not a really small amount) and the food is fresh. I got the calamari salad and it was really delicious. The servers are nice, but they didn't tell us their name. Overall, great experience!

  • RB B.

BYO with good food. It's nice how they encompass different Mediterranean flavors, from pasta, to pizza, to middle eastern specialties. Food is fresh, service is attentive. Be prepared for a wait on a Saturday night (which is made easier with your own wine and their hot garlic rolls.) However, overall, I think the food is pretty overpriced for what it is.

    (3)
  • Katie D.

Oh man, I hate to rate Arpeggio a three but recent price hikes have caused me to reassess one of my favorite byo's in the area. I understand that the economy is crappy and food costs are rising, but charging eight bucks for a little plate of pureed chickpeas (albeit delicious,) and $18 for a plate of chicken parm (when you can get delicious versions with free salad for $10-14 bucks,) is upsetting. What was once a weekly dining destination will have to become the occasional burb' treat, since for $20+ an entree, I would rather go down the city...

Her boss takes folks here all the time, both business and personal. Was in mood for med food, so brought fam here for Sunday lunch. Saw no signs of the stuff of all the lackluster reviews. Food was fresh and quality, server was smiley, pleasant, and did a good job, so did busboy. Will go back this evening w a bottle for their live jazz. Nice joint. Definitely coming back.

we'd heard a lot of good things about this place and were anxious to try it. i feel kind of bad giving it only two stars because the food lived up to expectations, it was really great. but the service was downright awful. we ordered the combo platter and after about ten minutes or so, a busser attempted to come over and put down the pizza tray and plates for our next course. we informed him that we weren't ready and asked him to hold off a few minutes. he went across the room and had a conversation with our server who promptly came back over with the pizza tray and the plates and, without asking, just plopped the stuff down. she then asked us if we were done with our appetizer and what could we do at that point? we let her take it, even though we weren't done. after we ate some of our pizza, we decided to box it up. we looked at the desert menu but decided we'd had enough and got the check. on our way out, we looked for a manager to talk to but couldn't figure out who was in charge. we did, however, grab a menu. the food was good enough that we'll definitely order takeout but we won't be dining here again.

I do like this place and go a lot for my lunch break but only because it's close. The food is good. I love the hummus! The service varies but isn't the best most of the time. My waitresses just do the bare minimum work and aren't really that personable. In the warmer months it's nice to sit outside but if you sit inside beware... Flies come in. The last time I was at Arpeggios there were about three flies circling my table the whole time: annoying. I do enjoy this place for the most part but it's nothing amazing.

  • E G.

I've been going here for years, and I can't say enough about the place. They have absolutely the BEST hummus and pita. There isn't a bad entree on the menu (favorites: chicken pesto pasta, shrimp rosita, Michael's chicken, incredible filet mignon!). You also have to love a place that brings in the best the city has to offer (gelato from Capogiro and coffee from La Columbe). Honestly, if I go too long without going here, I begin to go through withdraw.

My fiancé and I had our first date here over 2 years ago. It's a great little place with delicious food. I'd recommend the babaganoush, hummus, calamari, goat cheese salad, any of their pasta dishes, and their seafood pizza! It's a BYOB and it's nice to be able to eat outside (weather permitting). I've never had a bad meal here.

  • Murphy W.

Good mederteranian pizza BYOB... As others have mentioned, plan on waiting to be seated and if you eat indoors, plan on sitting very close to another party... That being said, great food at resonable prices... Take out is always a good way to go as well....

Thank you to Mary, the owner of Arpeggio's for contacting me - this truly meant a lot and really showed the true way a restaurant is managed. This is the first time that after a bad experience I was contacted by an owner - this shows how important good customer service is to her. To my knowledge a few things have been changed - and in the future I would like to give Arpeggio's another try...

  • G And G.

Other than BYOB we were unhappy last time there. Service was lousy, they had a shower in next room and tables were limited as was service. Food was ok but uneventful. Our first few times at this restaurant with friends definitely better, not sure we'll return.

Wow. What other accolades can I post about Arpeggio that hasn't already been said?! I'm pleased that this is my neighborhood restaurant. We quite often get take-out pizza from here. My favorite Wood Burning Oven Pizza is the Margarita on whole wheat with onions and garlic (About $11 for a large, I believe.) For an appetizer, you can't beat the $14 Combo platter which includes a variety of Mediterranean staples. Whether you eat in or take out, the food quality is amazing and I find that the prices are fair, a tremendous value. It is a BYOB and there is outside seating. It can get very crowded and I believe they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. However, they will gladly open up your bottle of wine and give you glasses so you can enjoy your vino while waiting for a table. They provide a giant bowl of fresh garlic knots to munch on while waiting as well. They do have wine lockers, but I have not inquired about that so I do not know those details. I can't stress enough that this is one of my favorite restaurants. I have never had a bad dish or a bad experience. Since it is so popular locally, you do need to be strategic about when you visit to dine in. If you are impatient, try to go at a non-peak time or get take-out. They do accept credit cards and there is free parking. Please visit Arpeggio. I have every confidence that you will love this place as much as I do.

LOVE this place!! And i have to travel and good 30 minutes on the construction strewn 309 to get there but well worth it.. Not really what I would call a Greek restaurant...there are many middle eastern dishes, but there are also many Italian dishes and woodburning pizza as well....plenty to pick from for any tastes! They have a specials menu which is the one sheet mentioned from another reviewer, but that is attached to the main menu which is huge! During your wait there are usually little garlic knots, and if very crowded, they will serve delicious pizza....The ambiance is cozy and yes you are close to people but not a deterrent....Various choices of pizza...salads especially their house dressing is AWESOME on any of the salads. I love the falafel salad, appetizers are wonderful with hot pita bread...Try the calamari! Dinners are very nice portions and i usually take home leftovers..love the lamb dishes as well as the numerous Italian dishes BYOB

My family and I ate at Arpeggio's the other night for an early dinner and we had a very good time .Arpeggio's is a BYOB so that's always a plus, There is plenty of parking out front and they do have outdoor seating for the spring and summer time. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The waitress was very attentive without being annoying. All the waitresses were easy on the eyes which can never hurt. The food overall was very good except for the pizza. Which is odd because they have a wood burning oven so you think that would have been the best bet maybe it was a fluke. The Chicken parmesan and pesto pasta dishes were well liked. The tables are on the small side and they are close together. Since we dined early it wasn't a problem but when full the restaurant probably gets a little loud. We shared two deserts (brownie sundae, and chocolate cake). Both were simple but very delicious. Overall I would definitely go back especially during a nice spring evening.

arpeggio's is my absolute favorite byob! i try to get here at least once a month. amazing menu, everything is so fresh and you can just tell everything is made to order. the summertime is the best time to go because of the outside seating. bring a bottle or two of wine, good company and enjoy!

Arpeggio has been our neighborhood restaurant for years. We eat in or take out probably 2-3 times on average every week, between kids sports practices and games. The food is consistently very good and the staff is warm and friendly. Their hummus, falafel and other middle eastern specialties are the best in the area. I've had them cater pretty much every family event, including milestone birthdays, my kids' Baptisms and Communion, and holiday gatherings. A real standout - we are lucky to have such a wonderful, diverse restaurant down the street.

Service was great, food was great, place is clean and nice. Pricey. I keep forgetting this restaurant is there (it's like on the dark, closed side of a strip mall) Appetizers (quesadillas), entrees (seafood risotto and ravioli) were great. Smoked mozzarella was delicious. Not too smokey! Desserts (made off grounds) were okay, nothing special. I liked the restaurant, but the menu is, shall we be nice and say eclectic? I don't know it's position in this world. The menu had items that were greek, mexican, spanish, middle-eastern, italian, french, etc. From hummus to chicken parmigiana to quesadillas to blueberry crisp. Maybe I'm too inflexible and like eating the same country all the way through my meal. I did like the place, and would definitely recommend it.

  • Renée C.

Worst service I've ever received. Waitresses were young and rude, going out of their way speaking about customers when they were bored. We were never asked if we needed anything. Busser was impersonal. THE PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS. When I asked the waitress for a wrap without the meat, she looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language. $14 for three browned lettuce pieces that weren't even cut up, with a few cheap veggies and sprinkle of cheese with generic dressing. I wish I went elsewhere.

Small but outstanding restaurant. Quality ingredients and preparation. The waitstaff could lighten up a bit since they are making great tips. Very noisy but in a friendly way.

  • Ron G.

Arpeggio has grown on me significantly over the past few years. I used to think of it as a decent pizza place with a bunch of greek/israeli influenced choices. Now, I think of it as a place to find innovative entrees, high quality meats and fishes, and something to please all my hard to please friends and family. I recently had the beef skewers app, which was outstanding. Perfectly medium/medium-rare lean beef in a light ginger-soy marinade served on a bed of crispy onions. I hope they keep this one around; great for a group because the bed of crispy onions is huge, and filling. Next time I order it for myself I'll ask for some spinach or something instead. Fortunately, they are always willing to accommodate. The red lentil soup is always a go to, definitely try a cup. The hummus is creamy and exactly what you want it to be. The pita they make is warm, a little charred, and much better than anything store bought. Almost Zahav-esque...almost. The falafels app makes a great meal as well, 4 large, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside patties with fresh feta, tahini, and pita. And, of course, you can't go wrong with the wood fire pizzas. Arpeggios is on the short list of places to go when I visit home; the rate limiting step is the wait, call ahead as the wait can often be up to an hour.

I love restaurants that have a huge sampling of garlic knots when you first walk in and also a BYOB. Good thing I started to grab a bottle of wine before leaving the house regardless of where I end up for dinner. Stumbled upon this place while searching for a new Italian place to try in the area. Ordered: started with the Mediterranean salad, unknowing it came with shrimp and scallops, def a meal in itself. The seafood was cooked perfectly, definitely recommend. Next, I had the Bronzino with a side of linguine in rose sauce. My partner had the tilapia with spinach. The sauce the tilapia was cooked in was divine. We had to try the desserts. The dark chocolate gelato was yummy. The other dessert was not very note worthy. Service: everyone was very attentive. Our waitress knew the menu very well and provided amazing suggestions! Overall: will definitely go back and try their oven pizza and other menu options. No body should pass up this BYOB.

I've only been here for lunch, since it's far from my house and really close to work. Great great place. It's always packed which proves the point. The smell is incredible as soon as you walk in. They have a wood burning oven for pizza. Pizza in itself was good but not amazing. I usually go for a salad. The menu is very extensive as well as they have a specials menu. Salads are all pretty amazing and large. They have their own house vinaigrette which is really tasty. The other day I ordered a stuffed poblano pepper. It was out of this world good! I don't remember what the sauce was made out of but it was so creamy and delicious it complemented the dish perfectly. I highly recommend. The prices are on a slightly higher side. Around 15-20 pp for lunch. But you do get really good quality food!

Blah. Bland bland bland. We had Veal Allison and the Moroccan Stew. Both had zero flavor. The hummus was great!

Service was horrible. The girls in there just gave me and my friend attitudes the whole time. They couldn't do a veggie wrap which is so simple to do. Overall will not be coming back here ever again. And I'm pretty sure our food got spit on.

I love this place! The food is consistently excellent. The mussels are amazing. The soups and salads always fresh and yummy. The owners and manager is always so kind. Wait staff sweet. I love their felafel and tabouli. This place is a definite if you want great food! Plus it's a byob!

I had the seafood risotto, absolutely delicious. The risotto was cooked perfectly. My only comment is that the tails were not removed from the shrimp. a friend had the chocolate mouse cake, also very good. The service was good. I will definitely go back.

Food is bland and waaaayyy over priced. Ive had Lean Cuisines with more flavor. My friend found a hair in her dish. Horribly horribly disapponted. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Very impressed with the food and service. This was my first time visiting from NYC and had a very memorable experience. I will visit again for sure. Our waitress, Maddy, gave awesome service and made us feel at home. Thank you arpeggio.

Arpeggio is a place my family enjoys eating at. However, I am not so sure. Much like the reign of George Terter II, it will seem good at first, but suddenly the experience will wither away and die. The food tastes like Constantine Tikh's ass. Although the atmosphere is nice and the service is passable, the food really weighs this place down.

    (2)
  • A B.

2.5, but I'll round down since my water remained empty for the second half of the meal on a slow day. We went for lunch and the food was below average. The prices are absolutely outrageous and the entire restaurant smelled of urine. The pizza was perhaps the worst I've ever had. No idea how this place is still in business.

    (2)
  • Andrew M.

The pizza is good for this style. I prefer just a normal New York style pizza and the thin crust is not my favorite style but its good. You have to go on Friday or Saturday just to get the banoffee pie. The biggest problem is the location in Lower Gwynedd. It makes it a local favorite for the rich, snobby people. They demand extra and expect to be treated special.

Great place for a nice dinner in the burbs! My hubby and I stopped in one night for dinner and sat outside. The service was great. Our waitress (Amanda...I think!) was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was great with suggestions and very attentive. The manager was also very nice (I can't remember his name). We each had a salad...they are HUGE and well worth the price. Food was fresh and very good. We split a pizza and they put it on thin crust for us, which was awesome. We will definitely be back!

  • Jean L.

On arrival we were told a 25-30 minute wait. I know that is an approximation, but after waiting 45 minutes only to see a couple being seated who waited at the most 15, I approached the hostess only to hear an apology that it was an "accident" and we will be seated shortly. We were seated within 5 minutes, and again the manager apologized. I wish I would have told him to just be honest! Anytime a restaurant makes a mistake they normally offer an appetizer or dessert. Not this place. Hard to enjoy dinner after the experience of getting seated...

  • Angie K.

An OK spot in the suburban scene. For those with furry friends: the outdoor seating does not allow pets. Their garlicky hummus, curry chicken pasta, any of their kebab platters, and pizza is decent, but not for the price. Service has always been pleasant.

Ive only been here once but it was absolutely delicious! The people were friendly and the service was fast. It was a little pricey but I didn't mind paying for getting such yummy food. I will definitely go back!

Best restaurant in the suburbs. Every dish is great. I have been coming here for 15 years and they keep getting better. Pizza is great, humus, falafel, pasta, you can't go wrong.

  • Andrew V.

To start this review I will say I drive a good 45 min to eat here. As soon as you walk in you smell the wood burning oven where they hand make their pizzas and pita bread. Everything there is made by hand including my favorite appetizers, hummus! It is amazing, so amazing I also order another one to go for lunch the next day. Anything you order is amazing, honestly you can't go wrong. I always try something new but my favorite dinner is the Cajun chicken pasta. Portions sizes are great and I always end up with left overs. This place is very busy and I recommend coming early for a shorter wait. It's worth the wait especially if you get to sit next to the fire place in the dinning room!!

  • Emma D.

We order here at work for lunch occasionally, it is so good and fresh. I can't say enough good things! The falafel is amazing, as is the hummas and pita. I didn't know it was a BYOB, if lived in this area I would definitely make use of that! It certainly more pricy than other lunch places we order from, but it's so fresh and of such high quality- I don't mind.

  • Marc K.

The kitchen puts out some very good middle eastern food and some very interesting house specialties and a nice thin crust pizza,Only problem is no reservations and they get busy at dinner time but bring a bottle and you wait will go that much faster,So from pasta to bubba gunush give it 3.5yummies .5 demerit due to no rez

Home-made breads and pita make this restaurant shine. Add home-made, lightly breaded calamari, and you have an experience! The hummus has a lot of garlic, so be careful if it's a date night. Lovely service. Outdoor tables with a brazier make it very comfortable for an early summer dinner.

Ok so I decided to try this place out from the reviews and went with my girlfriend tonight for a special evening out. We were met by a young blonde hostess wearing jeans and a tan top who immediately gave us an unwelcomed look and an attitude. We both could clearly see from the outside that about half the restaurant was filled and many tables were open. When we went inside there was a cheesy curtain they used to separate the entrance area from the dining room so you can't see into the seating area. The hostess opened it, took a look, and then told us there was a wait for a table. A couple immediately behind us was met with pleasure and seated right away before us. What???? Then the hostess whispered something to another young girl with brown hair wearing all black working the register who clearly seemed that she didn't want to be there and said I don't care do whatever. Probably because the hostess decided to treat the white customers behind us with better service but there's no proof. We left from our extreme disappointment in their poor discriminating service and will never go there again. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you're an old white anglosaxon couple or group who the employees can accept as valid customers.

Did something change recently? I've been going here for years and it was always good, consistent food. Recently I ordered take out and not only was it expensive, it just wasn't that good. The hummus was overly garlicky and the chicken was full of gristle. The pasta bolognese sauce was flavorless with huge chunks of garlic. The staff is always very nice and efficient, but I'm bummed about the food.

    (3)
  • Sapna S.

Our service was great, and the food was even better. There was a piece of chicken in my vegetarian pizza, which was unsettling. Other than that, the food was great. We ordered the combo appetizer platter, mozzarella sticks, the israeli cous-cous, the revelo pizza, chicken schwarma and a gluten free harvard pizza. The meat eaters enjoyed the chicken schwarma, and the vegetarians enjoyed the vegetarian dishes.

This is our go-to restaurant. The food is always delicious and the staff is excellent! We love BYOBs and the food is so fresh. They are also very accommodating to special requests. One can get anything from a pizza to fresh fish. I personally love the salmon and my husband thinks their chicken Parmesan is the best he has ever had.

Pleasant surprise. Found via Yelp search. Spring House Shopping center is in sad shape buildings peeling paint, empty units and parking lot full of potholes, almost didn't go in. Restaurant is nice inside and lots of menu choices. Party of three we ordered a salad we were all going to pick. The very attentive waitress returned with three small salad bowls and offered that she had the salad split in the kitchen. What a welcome surprise. Field greens with pecan crusted goat cheese and a vinaigrette. Delicious fresh field greens salad and the warm Goat cheese was awesome. We ordered both of the wood fired pizzas of the day; both were very flavorful and good beyond expectation. Plenty of fresh veggies and not overpowered with garlic which we don't like. Great thin crust, cooked just right, The waitress and busboys were constantly around filling water glasses and clearing debris from the table. This is more that your average shopping center pizza joint. I would definitely return.

Shared coconut shrimp appetizer. Very good Thai dipping sauce. Had sausage & pepperoni pizza & crab cakes. Both very good. Awesome that they offered an ice bucket for the white wine we brought. Would def go back!

Came here with friends on a Saturday night....the place was PACKED. We didn't have to wait too long for a table though, which was great. The service was excellent. Our beverages were refilled frequently, and the 2 bottles of wine we brought (it's byob) were opened immediately. We got a variety of things, pizza, combo app plate, salads, 'heart healthy' quesadilla. The appetizer plate had tabouleh, feta, stuffed grape leaves, and some other items. It was an ample serving. Everything was tasty, but not over the top out of this world. There was a little something for everyone on the menu, which is also a fair reflection of the clientelle...there were people clearly on dates next to people in yoga pants with their mom. It's a good go to neighborhood place.

Went there first time with our 2 kids and 2 other families, at 5pm on a Saturday night. Overall the food was awesome. Every adult dish was done well and portions good. Our server did her best for a table of 12 with 6 toodlers as well. The interior of the place is smallish but really clean and designed well. For the burbs, really is a top place to eat. Couple of nit-picks: first, they don't take reservations. We got there at 445pm, since we have kids, you really can't chance not eating. The didn't seem that thrilled to have a 12 top to sit, especially with 6 kids. They're weren't mean about it, but weren't that excited either. Also, usually when we eat at 5pm places are almost always full of families with kids (if it is a kid friendly place) and old people. There were plenty of other kids there but to my surpise lots of younger adult couples as well. And many adult couples don't really like having kids sit next to them. Nothing the owners can do about this, just saying what to expect. Last, I thought the brick oven pizza was good but not amazing. Pizza is so subjective but there is better. We actually think the pizza down the street at Il Giardino is better but the entrees here are better. Price is fair for what you get. Diner for 2 kids, 2 adults with tip: $73.00 We will be back for sure.

Based on the lunch crowd here on a Friday I'm guessing this place is a local staple. I stopped in for a quick lunch and this neighborhood Italian spot was all filled up. I was visiting Johnson & Johnson down the street and was told there were limited options in the immediate vicinity so I was not expecting all that much. We were greeted warmly and the great service continued throughout the meal. Despite the volume of patrons all our food came out quickly to get us in and out in under 45 minutes (and yes they take AMEX). I had the BBQ burger from the lunch menu, I know an odd choice at an Italian joint but when you need a burger you need a burger. It was juicy and cooked medium like I asked but unfortunately the crispy onions on top weren't crispy. My burger came with a side of sweet potato fries but they use the term side loosely as there was probably about 10 fries total. I was hoping for a little more for $13 in the burbs but I would still consider coming back next time i'm in the hood.

As a faithful Yelper, I always try to scope out reviews before trying a new place. When my husband said he went out with some people from work and wanted to try that place again, I mistakenly looked up another A-named restaurant in the area. So, I went to Apreggio completely blind. I was also sans-bottle, as the place I looked up had a bar. My bad. It was good, in the just-good-enough kind of way. We shared a great salad with some sort of roasted squash, too much cheese, and nuts - it was a special - and they split it for us. I think this was about $13, and it was a large portion, with some pricey ingredients. This brings me to my main problem with Arpeggio - the price. I would almost certainly bump them up a star if the entrees were just $2-$3 less each. We got pizzas, which were good, but not worth the price we paid. The "Pisa" ($12) was an extra-thin pizza with sauce and light cheese; it's the most like the pizzas I had in Italy and was really, really good - but probably worth $8. I feel like a cheapskate saying so, but I can't help how I feel. The place was crowded, what with people lingering over the wine they brought in, so I guess they'll do okay. They also seemed to run a pretty busy take-out business.

The food here is good. That's it. Its very serviceable, nothing great, nothing bad, whatever. We had a very bad experience with our waitress. I dont know her name because after we were seated for almost ten minutes without any contact from anyone on the staff, she came over and just said "Have you decided?". No intoduction, no "Hi my name is Dopey Chick and I'll be taking care of you tonight", just "have you decided?". Yes, I've decided that your service will be reflected in your gratuity.

Arpeggio has been a staple in Spring House for many years. I worked there back in the late 90's when I was in high school. Much has changed over the years such as expanding the dining area but the core has remained the same. The owners Mary & Hamdy are hands on and remain visible on a daily basis. The menu has something for everyone. Pasta, Pizza, Kabob's, sandwiches & home made pita's from their wood burning oven. The prices are fair and the portions are perfect. During the warmer months they have seating outside. Make sure to bring your own libations because its BYOB. If you plan on stopping in on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared to wait. This place is popular and has been since it opened.

Dinner update: Haven't been there for dinner in awhile. I tried the short rib, excellent flavor, half was tender, half was tough, that portion remained behind to feed the dogs. The mashed cauliflower was not bad, almost uneventful. My friend had the skirt steak, nice flavor served with sweet potato wedges and stated on the menu at under 600 cals. This is still an OK stop for a dinner close to home, don't go out of your way to look for a special night out here, ain't gonna happen.

Food here is amazing! Every time I have gone, it has been fantastic. I'm not even that big of a fan of Italian dishes. The pasta and sauce, especially the shrimp with vodka sauce was just wonderful. I remember the taste of it, even like months later. I would totally go back like everyday if it were closer to where I am located. Also, I would be more frequent a guest if the service were better. I think the waitresses weren't so friendly. Maybe it is because they are really busy, but I just remember they all seemed like in a sour mood all the times I've been there. The food is worth travelling for though. Just make sure you get reservations if you go during lunch time. This place has never been not busy. I always make sure to call ahead.

A favorite of the whole family. Great food, very flavorful! Great service and atmosphere too. Never had anything I didn't like. Love the red lentil soup, best hummus ever!

We went to Arpeggio this past Saturday night with my sister and her husband. We arrived at 6:30 and thought we would have to wait, so we were pleasantly surprised to be seated within just a few minutes of arrival. The service was pleasant and attentive, and the food was, as always, plentiful and delicious. I had the grilled salmon and vegetables, with a side of fat-free mashed cauliflower. My sister had the mixed grille, her husband had a seafood and pasta dish, and my husband had Joe's Penne. A very enjoyable evening from start to finish. One of the best things about Arpeggio is that, no matter what you dietary preferences or requirements, you are accommodated. Vegetarians, omnivores, Dukan or Atkins dieters ... there is something for everyone. I believe even vegans would be able to eat from the Arpeggio menu.

Not bad. Not sure I would go out of my way to go here, but it is a nice family restaurant. The pizza is good, but not the super-thin crust pizza we were looking for.

Went to Arpeggio about a week ago with a friend and had a great meal. I've been to Arpeggio before and thought it was ok, but this time I loved what we got. We were having trouble deciding what we wanted, so we decided to split a few things. We started with the goat cheese salad, which was a much bigger portion than I was expecting to start with, . After that we got the Sonoma pizza, cheese, olive oil and sauce. The sauce wasn't on the entire pizza, it was in dollops

Disappointed this time. We usually love this place, but last Monday night (i.e. not crowded) we ate outside and the food and service were below par. We ordered Mussels as an appetizer and they brought our main courses before we were halfway done with the mussels. I ordered the combo kabob (chicken, shrimp and scallops). The dish was served sans skewer which is ok, but it was nothing like a kabob. It was wet and more like a stew over rice than something that was grilled. Hope they read this because I did really like this place.

This BYOB is the BEST in town. The falafel is the tastiest in this corner of the world. Let's not forget the pizza and it's thin crispy crust. In the mood for some Asian flavor? Try the Thai calamari. You'll be craving for more...

Middle eastern appetizers were really tasty. Pizza not so much. Went here because of their wood oven pizza. Hard to tell it was wood fired. None of the smoky bubbly flavor and texture. The crust tasted like matzo. Nice sitting outside. Great evening but will not order pizza next time. All the diners around us were eating pasta and such. We will try that next time.

Maybe I only go to the restaurants that I already love because I am yet to give anything but a stellar review. Tonight will be no different. I brought the family out for pizza at Arpeggio this evening after the thrilling conclusion to the Pirates/Red Sox tee ball game in Ambler for opening day of the Jr baseball league. Maybe it was the Chairman's Selection Lambrusco Reggiano we brought (thanks Mr. or Mrs. chairman), or the sunshine and 70 degree day but the experience I had with their seafood pizza was extraordinary. We ate outside due to the perfect weather and not even my 5 year old spilling his entire lemonade within 30 seconds of its delivery could ruin this meal. We opted for the wheat crust which held up nicely in the wood burning oven. This pizza was overloaded with large shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat. I split a large with my wife because I thought I might want to bring a few slices home for lunch tomorrow. Well, we didn't bring any home and I don't regret finishing the whole thing one bit. It was worth every calorie.

Arpeggio was excellent. My colleague and I dined here for lunch. I'm so glad she recommended this place. Her story of romantic dinners with her husband on balmy nights was compelling enough but let's get to the lunch review. We were seated right away at a table outside. Service was prompt and attentive and the food came quickly. After noshing on the delicious hummus she dug into her Greek (her staple) salad and I into the capri pizza. Yummy! Our waitress kept our glasses full and was very attentive. I will definitely return for a dinner date ;)

To sum up, I would say that Arpeggio's is consistently good. I haven't had any meals that knock my socks off, but I'm always satisfied with the food and the service. I've only eaten inside the restaurant once because I really go there to sit out on their "patio." The restaurant is in a little strip mall -- a nicer strip mall, true, but still a strip mall -- so the outdoor seating is in front of the restaurant along the sidewalk. You're really only treated to a view of cars and people going to and from their cars, but to be able to dine al fresco and enjoy a bottle of wine is pretty great no matter what. I also find that the service outside is as good as the service inside -- you don't end up waiting longer or feel forgotten about when you're outside -- it's adequately staffed and promptly attended to.

This place is AMAZING! Food, waitresses, and atmosphere make it one of my favorite places to dine. The waitresses are always friendly and more than helpful, especially Jackie. If you're not sure what to order ask them and they'll recommend the most delicious dish like the eggplant rollatini. The hummus is to die for... You can never have too much of it. Overall, if you're looking for a nice, relaxing night out, go to Arpeggios!

My girlfriend and I went on a Sunday night around 7:30... FANTASTIC. The waitress was fast and attentive. The food was AMAZING, I got the grilled platter which was to perfection and my girlfriend got the Curry chicken pasta... amazing... great blend of Italian and Indian flavors. WE WILL BE BACK. If you haven't tried this place YOU BETTER BECAUSE ITS AWESOME!!!

I live down the street from Arpeggios. Just love the place. I have ordered many different entrees, pizzas, salad, appetizers from here - dining in and take out. It's busy most of the time - especially on the weekends. If you take out from here (which you have to pick up, they don't have delivery) its usually an average 30 minute wait for the evening time. This to me is pretty good for such a busy place. Definitely a "must-go" for anyone new to the area. Furthermore, its a definite for those who have lived in the area for a while and have still not gone - which is probably like 5% of the Montgomery County population. A couple of notes: - Only take reservations for parties over 6 people. - Getting a table here at night is really difficult (sometimes impossible). There is ALWAYS a long wait. - It really is best for TAKE-OUT. - It is a BYOB. - If you go there enough you can purchase yourself a little chic looking bin to store a bottle of wine in.

Arpeggios is a regular spot for my wife and I. Great BYOB restaurant. While you will wait to get a table on weekends you can casually drink some wine while you wait and the wait is never long. Great healthy food. Whole wheat options are available from pastas to quesadillas to pizza. Service is excellent. Be sure to try the peanut butter pie dessert option. It's great. The price is very reasonable.

Arpeggio may be the best all around restaurant in the area. The food is great! The pizza IS the best in town. Do yourself a favor and try the arpeggio or seafood they are both loaded with toppings and wonderful. I love that its never greasy and the crust is thin and perfection. The rest of the menu is really good to. If your a dessert person you must try the bread pudding. Another plus is that you can order takeout here as it can get crowded for dinner and lunch. Call ahead if you want a table but its worth the wait.

Delicious! We had an assortment of items and everything was well prepared and nicely served. It was a Friday night and it was very noisy and crowded. We had a reservation and did not have to wait long. Obviously a very popular restaurant. Four adults, 2 children, no alcoholic beverages or dessert and the bill came to about $150.

I've only been there once - I ordered the Arpeggio pizza. It was good, not outstanding. It was also very cold inside. However, I will definitely go back and eat on the beautiful patio with a nice glass of wine!

Definitely a neighborhood gem for specialty pizza. We try to go as often as we can though we don't eat pizza that often. Their specialty pizzas are excellent and they are made in a wood burning oven made to top it off! You must get the Hummus appetizer - I haven't found too many places that do it better (I know it's hummus but it's too good). I have tried a lot of the pizzas - the Mexicana pizza is my fav. Others to try are the Baja, Greco, Four Cheese, Buffalo & Palermo. It is BYOB so bring a bottle of red, order a pizza and enjoy the combination!

The rococo pizza is very good. The feta added the perfect touch and the crust was flavorful and crispy. If it is your first time here, get the chicken Mykonos, hummus, and a pizza. I can assure you that it will be delicious. The wait can be very long on weekends though.

First time at Arpeggio. Food was delicious. I had no complaints. The jazz music by Pete Smyser and Ted Lis was excellent and provided a great backdrop for the wonderful meal and catching up with friends.

Regular spot for my Wife and I and friends. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the way they handle seating folks when it gets busy. We've had a 75 minute, 2 bottles of wine wait on several occasions. But, after running out for more wine and a hold over order of garlic knots...it is always more than worth it. Mussels in red sauce is expertly done. The product is fresh and the mussels are perfectly cooked. We order them "Over the top Hot"...and they do a great job with the right balance of heat and flavor. A few pieces of fresh, homemade foccacia bread completes the experience. Twice after eating the mussels I tried to climb into the bowl to understand how well the mussels had it!!!! Get extra bread because you'll want to soak up every ounce of the sauce. We love the pizza...honestly we've had ever pie they offer and can say with certainty our favorite is ALL OF THEM. Friday and Saturday night they have Banoffee (sp?) A wonderful, homemade banana dessert that makes me want to move in. It's banana, pudding, cake, whip cream, chocolate and magic...I always tell friends if they don't like the Banoffee, I'll pay for your dinner. Go a little early, bring extra wine and enjoy!

This is a place we enjoy taking customers for work as its delightful, especially the outdoor seating when the weather is nice. As Tracy says, others have said it all. Fresh ingredients, good service, nice Mediterranean fare. My only complaint is the layout of the menu. The one they present to you (the single sheet) presents good items with an obvious higher margin than some of the stuff inside the bound menu (e.g., sandwiches, which are equally good). Once I learned this, I save $5 on lunch many times.

  • Matthew F.

Have been to Arpeggio's serval times over the years. This past Saturday was a dissappointment from a service level. Everyone was nice, just unattentive. We're not high maintenance, and I hate when I feel I have to be just to get the minimum standard of service. The food, as always was very good. We'll probably just stick with take out from now on.
