My favorite hangout spot for good food and drinks! $2 Yuenglings all day every day can't be beat. Their sandwiches are fantastic and the Trainwreck Tea's may derail your sobriety, but not your wallet!

Super big burger, but needed fries without the extra charge. My Texas burger was overcooked, despite me specifying "as rare as possible." The BBQ sauce was syrupy and far too rich. Needed more spice and tang. It was unbalanced, but the best part were the fried mushrooms. Didn't try beer this time.

The Railroad House recently changed their menu, dropping a few items and adding others. One new item caught my eye, the Irish cheese steak, half pastrami and half corned beef. It was delicious and a wonderful variation on an old and venerable sandwich.

This place gives me seriously mixed emotions! I like it, I don't like it, I like it, uuuum?!?! Been here a handful of times when friends want to go, definitely not my first pick. Haven't tried the food here so this review is strictly for my bar experience. Can't beat the prices. Had a double gin and tonic and two huge margaritas which were pretty mediocre. With the tip I spent a whopping $23. Deck is a nice hangout during the summer months. I also like the fact that they have bands on Saturday evenings with no cover charge. Here's what I don't care for...anytime I have visited, the bartenders aren't very friendly. And ladies be advised, there are always a lot of pretty girls at this bar but rarely any men that are worth looking at. It's kinda weird. As other yelpers have mentioned this place does attract all ages. Maybe next time I visit I'll be able to make up my mind but for now I like it and I don't.

Average bar. Menu is mostly fried food but decent. Staff is either excellent or bad, no middle ground. Good place to stop and have a drink or two but otherwise there are better options I looking for food. Owner's tend to be Unwelcoming and not outgoing.

Maybe it's because I've grown up and moved far, far away. Or maybe it's because I've come to the realization that when I go home, any bar I go to is going to be like a high school reunion, whether or not I like it. This is typical Berks County nightlife. The most eclectic, random people will be here on a weekend night. My best friends frequent here, as does my mother and her friends. Even my little sister's friends get in on the action. My first experience was walking into a karaoke night, or so I thought. It just happened to be the band performing. Thank goodness they don't charge a cover. Since then I've had some issues with some bartenders not understanding the difference between tonic and club, having to defend myself against the smoker's cloud coming from the deck outside, and standing my ground when those 50+yr olds get drunk and sloppy and try to harass my friends and I. I've been witness to a bouncer throwing someone out for looking at him wrong on a Wednesday night and to the crowds getting a little rowdy on a Saturday. I've heard the food is good - each week night there seems to be a special late night food. Prices are comparable to any bar in the area, but I refuse to pay for shots that aren't served in glass shot glasses though. And those little plastic rinky dink cups don't cut it for me. Can't give it less than three stars because it's a default bar to go to when I visit home, can't give it more than three stars because it doesn't blow me away. I'm sure I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Love this place. Food has always been great! It can get very very crowded at times and I wish the service was a bit faster. Fun, outdoors or in great entertainment! overall one of my fav!

I visited Railroad House once and it was very good. Awesome cheesesteaks and fresh cut fries. Good beer selection. Nicely decorated and good service. They have a very nice big outside bar too. Will definitely be going back soon.

Stopped here on a Sunday night (trivia night as it turns out) after a visit to Shocktoberfest. It wasn't bad for a Sunday night. Overall the staff was good as was the food service, no issues at all. I would definitely stop here again, it seems to be the perfect local bar hang out given the prices, selection and location.

The BEST cheesesteaks that I've found in Berks County. I've stopped my search for a good steak in Berks County because this place is a few minutes from my house. The steak meat is lean, no gristle like some of the popular Philly shops. The whiz is great. The the rolls are great as well. The roll can make or break a cheesesteak and these rolls are just right. The burgers are very good as well. Great size, the meat is good. Recommended. I really enjoy the food here and therefore I probably eat here at least twice a month. I don't think the menu is very big, but I live on burgers and cheesesteaks, so it doesn't matter to me. Definitely give this place a try.

If you are from Berks County and have friends and a family, chances are they hang out at the Railroad House on the weekends and in the summers. Every time I have been to this bar, it has been packed with old acquaintances, friends, parents' friends, even family members. This can be good for those who want to re-engage with homers they haven't seen in a while, or it can be bad if you are the type who likes to avoid this act. The bar itself is usually fairly clean and the staff are friendly. The other positive is how incredibly cheap this place is! All of the times I have been here, I have felt guilty because of how little I've had to pay for some beers. The main negative about this bar is definitely the parking lot. It isn't lighted; if its winter or raining, you are faced with a muddy, rocky, trench-filled walk from your car; and it just has a generally creepy feel to it. Another negative is how hard it can be to find a seat in this place. It is really good that RRH is doing well, but it translates to little seating for patrons. I would recommend this bar for those in the area looking for a cheap drink.

If you're pretty and you're a female easy to get service. Drinks are strong, always. I actually hate that the drinks are always so strong. I would prefer if they would make the drink to taste it like a drink. The DJ on the weekends is great! I love that he takes requests (from pretty girls or guys trying to get laid. Thursdays there is a singer that comes on on a keyboard that is awesome! I'm not sure if he's still there or if he trained a apprentice to be there instead but he was the main reason I started frequenting this bar so much. Not a bad bar but not a classy one either. You get what you pay for.

Get here early because this place is always packed, and parking can be a choir. Be it from a lazy Sunday to a Thursday night. All ages come here. The drinks are pretty cheep, the service is great! The food is pretty good too. Great location to people watch and interact with the locals. There is a really kick ass porch to relax on. I do have to say the Railroad house does earn its name. There seems to be a train going past at least once every half hour. I recommend that you come by and check this place out.

It's been over a year since we last ate here. Very pricey for a French Dip sandwich which was nothing but what appeared to be a small amount of sliced deli meat slapped over a small piece of swiss cheese on a dry roll with a small cup of tasteless Au jus. And the drinks are expensive. We paid $40 with tip for 4 drinks and 2 sandwiches. Very poor for what's available elsewhere so we'll go elsewhere. Too many choices in Berks County such as Klinger's make a much better sandwich.

Definitely a solid place to enjoy the game or just dinner and a couple of drinks. The owners are very nice and usually on site to chat or provide guidance on the menu. It is standing room only past 6pm on most weekend nights - but do not let that discourage you. The bar staff is able and slings spirits out with no problem.
