For what it is, I actually really like it. I typically don't enjoy diner food or diners in general but this place has very reasonable prices and a homey feel. I usually go with my mom or dad because it is quiet and has a nice location. Last time I was there, I ordered the chicken parm sub but when it arrived I saw there was meat in the marinara (I don't eat red meat). The server was super nice and took it back and let me order something else instead, which was the tuna melt (and served on Texas toast & very tasty). The fried haddock sandwich is also very good. All in all, 2 meals + coffee between my dad and I came to around $16. Can't beat it.

What a dump! I have no idea how they stay in business. I guess due to the convenient location. Bad food, poor service and a horrible ambiance.

On our way to Lancaster PA, stopped by here to have breakfast. Walked in & seated ourselves, no problem there. The place is small, no frills, no thrills. Our waitress was friendly, not overly but ok. She did check on us frequently but did not disturb our breakfast. The food was served warm, simple plating just enough for breakfast. Ordered the veggie omelet and as someone said before, the mushrooms were can. This is a typical mom & pop establishment with mom & pop still working the register. The place is old but clean and it is a nice change from fast food breakfast. Cheap, breakfast for two around $14.

The four stars are based on comparisons in the category... But this place was surprisingly not bad! It has a diner feel; a mom&pop place for sure with mom&pop still working there. The restaurant was clean, and the food was what was to be expected. They have a limited breakfast menu all day, so a couple of breakfast sandwiches on toast was what we had. Got the "broasted" (fried) chicken to go and it was delicious. Prices are cheap and expectations were met. Support your local small businesses!!!

On our road trip from NYC to Maryland, my brother and I were detoured through Pennsylvania due to insane traffic. We ended up driving by Coach Light Family Restaurant and were intrigued by the homey facade. The place is a bit dilapidated considering the menu prices are pretty standard, but this certainly qualifies as a local family-run establishment. The service was pretty slow considering we were the only people in the joint; however, the waitress was probably 75 or 80 years old and very friendly. The homemade Italian wedding soup was quite good: a bit salty, but there were ample meatballs, and they were tasty. We also had onion rings and chicken fingers; both were standard boardwalk/beach quality. CASH ONLY!!!

If you live in the area, you should check this place out. It's not something I'd travel far and wide for or anything, but it's a good down-home kind of place. You can't find friendlier service and the prices are really low. The food is better than average, plus it's in a location right off the highway with nothing but fast food and a couple of other chains around. As a bonus, they serve breakfast all day, and I love breakfast. Important to note: they do not take credit cards, so bring cash.

I wrote a review of this place some time ago and it was removed by Yelp because of a complaint that the review didn't have any specifics. OK, Coach Light is so unimpressive specifics will be boring, but here they are... Coach Light is a homey, old looking place that is intriguing, but not good. They don't have many customers. The food is pretty standard American food that is unimpressive. A lot of frozen and canned items served. Even the "specials". I think "special" just means that the restaurant go a good deal on frozen fish that week. Location is good. Now, wasn't that boring? I think my original was much better. Now, who, I wonder, would have complained about the original review? ---original---- We wanted to let you know that we've removed your review of Coach Light Restaurant. Your review was flagged by the Yelp community, and our Support team has determined that it falls outside our Content Guidelines ( yelp.com/guidelines ) because it lacks a substantive firsthand experience. Removed Content: I can imagine the scene... the year is 2006, the place is the coach light restaurant located on valuable land at a major intersection near two big shopping centers. Developers and businessmen offering fistfuls of cash to the owners of the restaurant if they would sell out. But the owners are holding out for more. The real estate market is going up, up, up. Just keep the place open another few months and the offers will get even bigger. Oops. The bubble burst. No more offers. Fast forward to 2010... Just keep the restaurant open, minimally maintained, with food barely edible and almost no customers. Maybe the market will recover? (The preceding was all just my imagination, but seriously there is no other conceivable way that this place is still in business.)

Bad service. Bad food. Bad location. Great prices. You get what you pay for.

I'm not sure why this place stays in business! The food is terrible, and the service is even worse. We should have know not to enter when we saw the "Servers and Cooks Wanted" sign written in crayon and taped to the front door. Don't waste your time or your money here.

Worst experience in awhile! Took almost 2 hours to get food. When it finally came it was cold. The portions were almost a joke. The service sucked. I just hope for them it was just a bad day or they won't stay in business.

First, I can't fathom how this place stays open considering no one is ever there. For some reason, this seemly ghost restaurant intrigued my brother and I. One would think toast is impossible to screw up, but this restaurant managed to simultaneously burn the toast and serve it cold. In addition to this, the toast was also soggy. This food made my brother and I both sick. But they do have good water. I have one regret in life ... eating at the Coach Light.
