Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The food is awesome! Great quality and taste. Free homemade chips and salsa. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has about ten tables and a small bar.It was full the night we were there. The service was very friendly and helpful. I didn't have room for dessert, but our friends had the fried ice cream and loved it. They also have a food truck at the Hometown Auction on Wednesday's.

We went last night it was our first time there. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic ! We will definitely go back and recommend this to our friends. The place is small so I would make a reservation , the atmosphere is not much to look at run down looking but food was out of this world and very clean.

We live locally, but used to drive all the way to Harrisburg area to El Rodeo for some great Mexican food. I love being able to have great food right in our town. The food is always GREAT! Chips are freshly made and I order off the Tex Mex and Authenic menu and have never been disappointed. The only negative is that is is small and if they are busy you won't get a table. So get there early!

I remember actually going to this place one time with my family. Not too bad, but it was small and redundant.

This restaurant has the best authentic Mexican food in the area. Service is prompt and the portions are large, overall it's a great value.

By far some of the best eating in Schuylkill county. The food is fresh and authentic, the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. There are plenty of options for the adventurous and those seeking the familiar. They offer more traditional mexican dishes and some tex-mex dishes. My favorite are the corn flour Gorditas with pork. You get three nice size corn gorditas stuffed with pork and chilies. Very good. Also their rollenos and tamales are to die for. You are offered fresh made chips and salsa when you sit down, and there are wine and beer options to satisfy your thirst.

I enjoyed my meal here, the service was fantastic. The menu is pretty standard with mainly chicken or beef options. I did like that there are lots of corn options instead of all flour wraps. That gave me a lot more gluten free choices. The food was fresh and well made. The salsa that came with the free chips was a little unusual. I got a chicken flautas, gorditas and a hard corn taco. It was all hot and fresh. If I get to go back again I'll try the carnitas! Tip: the taquitos are small tacos not skinny long rolled up fried taquitos. If you want something like that order the flautas instead. (Which are very yummy)

The best kept dinning secret in Schuylkill County and beyond. This authentic Mexican restaurant serves amazing fresh food. The menu provides a vast amount of options but my favorite dish is Al Pastor corn tortilla tacos. The special consist of 4 tacos for $8 of al pastor, fresh onion & cilantro on 2 corn tortillas. Besides the amazing food, the wait staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend sitting at the bar and enjoying a few Tecate's listening to some Mexican artists while waiting for your food. I have tried all the Mexican restaurants in the area and beyond and this is by far the best and a true gem. Try it for yourself!
