I have always been a big fan of Muscarellas. This week I ordered the special, Louisiana Seafood Risotto, it was absolutely amazing! Just when I think your food cannot get any better! Thanks

I ordered dinner as take out. No one was at the host station. It took quite awhile for anyone to realize I was there. After the hostess noticed I was there, my order came pretty quickly. I ordered the Create Your Own Pasta with gluten free pasta, sun dried tomato sauce with portabella mushrooms. I also had a salad with Zinfandel salad dressing. The pasta and the salad were both delicious! The Zinfandel dressing was fantastic! I can't wait to go back despite the slow service.

Muscarella's is a hometown staple. It's fun and eclectic (the owner has a stool at the end of the bar with his name embroidered on the back) with an ever changing menu. You will find traditional favorites mixed with inventive specials and a mix and match pasta, sauce, and meat section. My personal favorite is linguine with olive sauce (an Alfredoesque sauce with a rainbow of sliced olives) and grilled chicken. Muscarella's does the holidays well. Their specialty holiday menus are themed, divided into courses, and even boast a signature holiday cocktail. Prices are moderate, but expect at least two meals from your order. (The linguine and olive sauce usually lasts three meals for me.) Drink prices are expected by natives of the area and will delight "city folk". Don't be afraid to bring the kids, but head out by 10pm when the bar area starts to crowd. Muscarella's and the adjoined bar, Double A Lounge, have a pretty active night life. Local bands play, and people swarm from all over. All in all, it's a nice experience.

Small, locally owned Italian restaurant. Visit anytime I'm in town visiting family. Pizza is absolutely delicious. Love the option to create my own pasta dish. If you're a fan of Gorgonzola cheese, go for the Gorgonzola cream sauce. I pair it with broccoli and chicken. Portions are relatively generous. Salads are crisp and fresh. The Gorgonzola bruschetta is also amazing. Grilled bread with fresh bruschetta and Gorgonzola. Yum. Service is sometimes a little slow but the food is worth it.

This is one of the better spots for a good meal out in the Shenango Valley, or also special events or just a couple drinks. Menu offers enough without being overwhelming. Dinner portions are typically more than enough, especially if you decide on a pasta. Bread is always good, wedding soup is a must have to start the meal. Also the atmosphere is pretty inviting (to me), with dark seats/tables and walls and dim lighting. A good place for conversation too. The only thing that really keeps me from making this a five star review is service. Although I have had decent servers there, it's more commonly the case that I don't. However the busboys are by frequently and are eager to remove empty plates and glasses from the table. Too bad they can't just be the servers too! But regardless, we'll continue to visit Muscarella's somewhat regularly and will be looking forward to a great meal and a good time then.

Absolutely wonderful food! Ate here for my moms birthday. First time here for me. Can't wait to come back home to PA to come back here for dinner! I had the trio. The lasagna was so creamy! The chicken Parmesan was really thick and well cooked. Fettucini was very creamy and good tasting. Had cheesecake for dessert...it was awesome as well. Very satisfied!!!!

I am from Sharpsville, but live in Columbus Ohio. I look forward to dinner at Muscarella's when ever we go back to visit. Going this Saturday as a matter of fact! I loved their pasta, fried greens and wedding soup. I can't find fried greens anywhere is Columbus. Every year, Muscarella's menu and food gets better! enjoy!

I might not have tried this place had I seen the reviews beforehand, but this restaurant was recommended to me, and tonight we had the occasion to be in the area. Plusses from my perspective: it's homey (complete with Cheers-like bar with locals), there's easy parking behind the place, the menu is pretty interesting for a place given its humble mill-working locale, and the food was well worth a visit. Minuses? Well, just one. They don't provide a wine list, so perhaps it was a mistake to order wine. I just asked for a house white that I was told was chardonnay but seemed way too sweet. But on the plus side, I paid less than $5 for it ;). Next time, I'm going with one of the interesting beers on tap. My nephew wanted the mushroom bruschetta and my brother wanted the garlic cheese bread. The latter is made with Mancini's Italian bread and served with marinara. Both are fine (the bruschetta is better). We all got their wedding soup and thought it was excellent (my nephew appreciated the generous serving of meatballs). For entrees, my brother got their Tuscan strip, a strip steak with pancetta, greens, and white beans on Yukon gold mashed potatoes. My nephew got their "make your own pasta" -- you get to choose one of 7 or 8 pastas (including a gluten free pasta), one of a dozen or so sauces, and the one of a dozen or so add-ins -- linguini with the vodka sauce and the steak tips and portobello add in. I got their seafood linguini with white sauce (garlic and olive oil). All of the portions are hefty, so be careful if you can't take home leftovers! From my perspective (having spent the last 15 years in the Northern Virginia/DC food scene), the food was delish. I couldn't really give it a 5-star rating (close, but not exactly "As good as it gets"), but I would have given it a 4 and a half. My brother and I are going back Saturday!

Too expensive, The staff is not very friendly. My father took one bite of his spaghetti and did not like it and the waitress said ohI'm sorry. Didn't offer any other products or any kind of refund she just walked away and then avoided us the rest of the dinner.

I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. This is a dismal Italian-type restaurant that seems to be popular with locals. The wait staff were plentiful, congenial, and attentive but the decor is dated at best and the carpet so dirty only the edges reveal it actually has a pattern. The greens in the dinner salad were limp and brown at the edges, obviously made earlier (or on a previous day) and held. Blau cheese dressing was tasty. Croutons made on site were nice. Good Italian bread was served with whipped margarine. The soups were tasty and mushroom bruschetta was very nice, but they need to learn how to pronounce bruschetta. Look it up. The pasta dishes were generous and heavy, pretty typical for Pennsylvania's high fat, high carb dishes. The cannoli desserts were fresh and tasty. A good, crisp cannoli can be hard to find in a restaurant. Had the atmosphere been clean and bright we probably would have felt better about some of the food. For really good Italian food in a small town try Amici's in Ebensburg, PA.

The butter for the bread tastes like Crisco. The lettuce for the salads is drenched in water. Service is terrible for lunch time and iffy for dinner. The pasta isn't drained well and the food is sometimes cold. Most things, such as the meatballs and ravioli, are definitely just from the frozen section of a store.

I really think overall this place is pretty good. I've been here many times over the years. I've had a glitch here and there with service. I think it could use a makeover inside, but food is usually pretty good...lots of daily specials that are not on the regular menu which I like.Pretty good selection of beers and drinks. Portions are usually pretty good sized. Overall I would tell people to go have a meal here.

There aren't many restaurants that you can safely say everything on the menu is delicious. I do have my favorites - the farmer's chicken sandwich, hold the chicken and sauce, and the potato dumpling soup. However, you won't be disappointed if you close your eyes and pick an entree at random. They get pretty busy during peak times, but they have a red-yellow-green light system outside to let you know the wait time. If you're in the mood to wait, their bar has a welcoming quality that makes you want to plop down and get a Yuengling until your table is ready.

I visit western PA twice a year (from San Francisco, a foodie paradise. Starting about a year ago I've insisted we come here for at least one meal, usually lunch. The Italian food is exceptionally good. Portions are a bit large for my taste but this is western PA. The choice of beers, wines and cocktails is also very good. The Sharon, Hermitage, Sharpsville area has had it's slowdown and hard times. Restaurants here lean toward chains or old guard greasy spoons. Thisbis a surprisingly good, authentic Italian place in a quiet neighborhood. Btw: that means the mod pepperocini are pretty hot.

Completely uninspiring Italian food. I'm not a local so I can't really speak for it's hometown charm, but each of the dishes I tried were nothing special. I really wish I could like it, but I couldn't find anything special.

It's been sometime since I've been here but the food is fantastic. I had an Italian greens dish that was authentic and quite tasty. I guess the downside would be that the place itself is nothing extravagant and the service was average. Prices were not to bad though. I enjoyed my experience there and I believe you would too!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
