There doesn't seem to be a lot of options for food in the area, so when passing through, Twisty Freeze won out for seeming to have the most character. Their menu is pretty broad with the normal run of burgers, hot dogs, and pizza, but they also had a whiteboard specials menu with things like a "Carolina BBQ Chicken Sandwich.". It sounded like and interesting option, and my companion got a fish sandwich. We sat outside, which was nice. The staff offered to bring out our food when it was ready, rather than waiting to hear our number called. They we very friendly and the customer service overall gave a nice small town comfort to the visit. Both sandwiches were good and were exactly what I would hope for from a small place like this. My only complaint was that I went back again before leaving to grab a slushy (slush puppy) and it seemed to have a faint aftertaste of chlorine. It could be the water that was used in it, or how they cleaned the machine... I don't know. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but I probably wouldn't get another one. I'd come back if I was in the area again.

The perfect place for an unhealthy but DELICIOUS bite- the fries were great, and I loved my mushroom steakburger. Great local spot.

Good soft serve and twisters (blizzard). They have 24 flavors of soft serve which is kind of ridiculous but the selections of cones is even more impressive. Oreo cones! I also appreciate the "Save the Earth, Eat a Cone" poster

We ordered strombolis. Mine was a small chicken with peppers and mushrooms. It was the size of my calf and super awesome! Small menu but nobody else I know delivers ice cream. Huge portion for the price.

Selinsgrove is our halfway meeting spot with my mother-in-law. We always go out to eat when we are together. Our last two visits we ate at the Twisty Freeze! On both occasions, I went with the whiteboard special. The latest was a steakhouse burger with mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and A-1 sauce plus fries. It was fantastic! The big beef sandwich was fresh, hot, and juicy. The fries crispy. And the price GREAT. Despite an almost completely full tummy, I still had to have a soft-serve cone. Pumpkin and Peanut Butter twist might not sound good but it was. Both had a nice, mild flavor. My MIL and hubby enjoyed their meals and ice creams too. The restaurant is roomy, clean, and has easy access. We tend to eat at "off" times so the place was almost empty when we arrived. However, by the end of our meal, there were four other families seated. The staff is friendly and helpful. On our first visit, the server was sweet enough to actually show and explain how it is possible to make custom ice cream twists. That was pretty cool. Despite a good many other restaurants in the area, we have already determined that this is where we are going again the next time we meet up. Twisty Freeze has great food, good prices, and a nice place!
