Ehh, I miss my pizza from my old neighborhood. Sigh. This place was ok. For $7, i guess you can't beat the price, but there was a lot of things really lacking. 1 - I felt like it needed more cheese. It was seriously lacking cheese. 2 - The sauce was a bit tangy for my liking. I felt it was a bit on the watery side as well 3 - the person who rolled out the dough didn't bother making it even. Some parts of my pizza was so much thicker than other parts. 4 - they didn't cook it long enough, so it was rather chewy. The only thing I really enjoyed was the taste of the crust itself. It had a nice flavor that was different than other places. I also ordered myself a cheesesteak. Onions were a little too raw and it was really lacking meat. I ate more bread than anything else. My hunt for pizza in my area continues!

I am absolutely NOT a fan of Inferial Pizza. This business prides itself in serving the underdeveloped and disenfranchised in Delaware County by using the worst possible ingredients to drive down the price. The low quality I-can't-believe-it's-not-tomato sauce leaves a lot to the imagination and the pound of sand extracted from the red light district of Atlantic City splattered at the bottom has the sole potential of making a grown man cry. My stomach is asking for a divorce and suing for alimony. Oh, and one more thing... Inferial doesn't take debit cards?! I didn't realize we were still in the 20th century.

Delaware County's late-night secret weapon! Imperial Pizza is legendary for having the cheapest large pie you can get, which might be an insult, but the pizza is great; well-balanced cheese/sauce ratio with the infamous cornmeal crust, giving it the much ballyhooed 'sandy' texture. The fact that they stay open until 2:00am on weekends in a largely suburban area, and always have your food ready quick, adds to the charm, making this a singular destination worthy of the occasional late-night trek.

I was hoping the divey atmosphere meant that they were a hidden gem, but unfortunately- it didn't. The pizzas crust tastes like cardboard. The pizza'a flavor was okay, but the crappy crust combined with the average service is why I gave this place a below average rating.

Can't go wrong with it, it's cheap and hits the spot.. I love the sand, get it with light sauce and xtra xtra cheese and you are set

I like the pizza crust a lot... sandy bottom crust reminds me of Pizza at home in RI. The sauce is not my favorite. It just seems to be kind of bland. Today I order a steak and cheese (cheese steak to the locals) and I was not impressed. It was ok. The steak was good, but sparse, very little cheese, and the bread was chewy. Also, this place has no french fries, onion rings or sides at all.

Best real Italian pizza in Delco to be sure. Not only the best pizza but the best price. We have been patrons for many years and will continue.

I have been eating Imperial for many, many years !!! By far the best pizza around. Nothing beats their sausage Pizza with a Franks Black Cherry Soda. A lot of people aren't aware but they also have great cheese steaks and meatball sandwiches !! If you haven't tried them, do yourself a favor.

Is this the best pizza I've ever had? Nah. But for $6 and a true 10 minute pick up time it's pretty damn good. The sandy bottom is a weird addition but ultimately unnecessary since it doesn't seem to alter the taste or texture of the pizza. An extra star for being open late and accommodating my ridiculous sleeping habits. Cheers, Imperial!

I've always been happy that they have stuck around so long. If you've lived in this area of Delco for the majority of your life like I have, then you know their pizza well. Perhaps you call it the "sand pizza" due to the cornmeal dusting. It's good to have old reliable standards. This all being said, if you were to compare Imperial Pizza to some of the better pizzas in the area, it would lose. This was never gourmet pizza. Maybe it's not meant to be, nor is it ever meant to be. But you can always count on Imperial to do two things right. 1) They'll get you a decent large pie with one topping under 8 bucks. That's just not happening enough around these parts anymore. 2) If they say your pizza will be ready in 10 minutes, it's generally ready in 10 minutes. I've always respected their reliability. And sure, their pizza has always tasted pretty good to me. I only get it once or twice a year myself. Last pizza I got from there recently certainly hit the spot. I do think there's better pizza in Delco. Just a personal taste. But I'll never say no to an Imperial pie.

Eat here most Friday's. Have literally been getting it since I was a kid and for the price and late hours it's awesome. It has had the same taste forever so it's consistent and you always know what you will get. Extremely fast if your picking up. Great for parties where you need to order a good amount of food. Haven't tried their steaks it's always been a pizza place to me but I know they are cheaper then most places as well.

This place gets a solid 4 stars from me. This past Sunday at 12:40 at night (I guess that would make it Monday by then...) I got the biggest craving for a pizza. I called around to a few places to try to find someone open but came up empty handed. That was when my boyfriend recalled a place called Imperial Pizza that his buddies talked about. Sure enough they were open and we put our order in and in 10 minutes it was ready for pick up. Not gonna lie, it was not the BEST pizza I ever had. But for 6 bucks and being the only place open to serve me at that hour it was pretty damn good. A few nights later around the same time I got a craving for a cheese steak. I decided to try one from there. Eh. They had no wiz so I got it with american and it was an 8 inch roll. Not that much meat on the sandwich and the roll was pretty chewy. BUT it cost me 5 dollars I believe. For 5 dollars I can't really complain about it to much. I know I'll be heading back there soon enough for more pizza when I'm up late at night. You got a fan here!

Best cheap pizza hands down. Are there better pizzas out there? Sure, but for double the price. And no one beats them for speed. 10 mins for pickup.

Imperial Pizza is the best cheap place to get an authentic pie. We order from here at least a few times a month. They only take cash and the pizzas are very affordable for any family.

Not bad pizza, one of the better in the Drexel Hill/Springfield area. Pizza is cheap and the closest thing to New York/Jersey style pizza you'll get in the area. Service is quite fast as well, every time I have picked up they always give me the '10 minute' window.

Everyone who ever lived in the area knows and remembers Imperial Pizza. "The pizza with the sand on the bottom" to everyone born and raised Delco, but Imperial is much more. Well, maybe not THAT much more. But Imperial is the place that delivers to you late at night, even though it might take 45 min or more. It's the place that will only be 10 minutes 'til it's ready if you're picking up, no matter how busy a night. It's the place you went every weekend when you were in high school, but somehow they still know your name a decade later when you pick up a pizza a few times a year. It's the place with the sweet sauce and the molten cheese perfectly proportionate to the thin crust for under $7 for what is essentially a large pie (they only have one size). Maybe it's just the price, maybe it's the comfort factor, or maybe it's the taste of the pizza... Either way, Imperial always has been and always will be my favorite pizza back home. I wish I was eating one sitting on the hood of my car with my friends right now.

A large plain pizza for $6.95 in Delco that only takes 10 minutes to pick up. I have to say its one of my top 5 favorite pizzas of all time! The sandy bottom is what makes it different in my mind. Thin slices with the right combo of sauce to cheese.

I've had their pizza probably a dozen times or so. I'm almost afraid to post this review seeing how much positive feedback they've been getting. For the money, I suppose it's a good deal. However, the pizza is truly awful. I've had pizza from at least half of all the pizza joints in the Ridley area and Imperial is on the bottom of my list. Yes, they're open late and pretty much the only option at 2:00 AM; but I'd rather eat real sand. The ingredients taste as cheap as the price. You'll get exactly what you pay for here. I can only stomach it when I'm completely drunk and out of options.

You really can't do much better than Imperial Pizza for the price. They only have one size pizza and it's a little less than $7 for a sandy-bottom plain cheese pie. I'm not sure it's the kind of pizza where you rave about it to all your friends swearing it's the best pizza they'll ever have, but again, for the price, it's fabulous. I especially love their late weekend hours. When most places are closed, they're still churning out reasonably priced pizzas for us hungry night owls into the wee hours. A great little place.

Everything you could ask from a pizza place. 6.50 a pie, open till 2am, sandy bottom. Best drunk pizza ever. Still awesome while sober too. :)

Good pizza for the price. I don't think I would serve it to any out of towners looking for "good pizza" though.

Best pizza in Delaware County. Hands down. Thin crust, best sauce around, yummy cheese, cooked to perfection, and BEST PRICE AROUND. Take out only. No room to eat.

Love the sandy bottom. Love the top too. Imperial: It's time to expand and open some locations outside of Secane. "Go West" with that sand!

Love this place! It's cheap & yummy, light pizza. Most of the pizza around here is too thick and too cheezy and has no sauce. Imperial is light, has a good tasting sauce and doesn't drown their pizza in cheese. I'd rather go here for pizza than any chain in the area. If you like pizza, and you want it light rather than thick crust & loads of cheese, try this place. For $6-$7 you can't beat it. I usually order the pepperoni pizza. Go Imperial! 4 stars

The best pizza in deco. And super cheap.

The pizza isn't that good at all but it's so cheap that it deserves three stars. The ingredients always taste fairly cheap, however the sandy bottom is always cool.

Best late night pizza around. You can order "without sand" if you are so inclined. Park in the back and enter through the kitchen. Besides, every local has KI3-9393 permanently burned into their mental speed dial, right?

  • Michael W.

One of the best pies I have ever had. To give Imperial less than a perfect score would be criminal. If this isn't a great pizza, then what is? They prepare their pizza "New York" style which means the pie has very thin, floppy slices that emphasize the sauce slightly more than the the cheese. The tomato sauce itself has a much tangier taste to it than I am used to at other pizza joints. The "sand" in the bottom of the box always gets everywhere, but it is necessary for the full pie experience. Don't expect many frills with this place except friendly, hometown service and good pizza!

I hate Delco pizza. Sorry, but I do. I have 4 good places and Imperial is one of them. Pizza is on the thin side with good sauce and cheese - I like to ask for mine "well done." It's always ready to be picked up in 10 minutes! Yes, it has a sandy bottom, but you can request yours to be without. Nice guys who work there.

I know, I know everybody has their own pizza they grew up on and it's 'the best' ...but this is is olde school ( sorry for the cliche' but it fits) same as it ever was quality, tasty never ever get tired of pizza. Thin crust, crispy and chewy, with semolina flour, corn meal on bottom (the 'sand') sweet tangy tomato sauce ( if it is from a can it's still damm good) just enough cheese...that's how I like my pie. The topping are good, not overpowering, and fresh. The 'Ulcer' is the everything and I can taste the anchovies just talking about it. Open @ 11a and they have a waiting room next store which is an authentic dive bar. Usually have a pie ready in 2 beers time, but will occasionally take longer if you're having a bad day.

Got to say, any time I have a pizza with a corn meal bottom, I think of Imperial. Great stuff!

I have eaten Pizza from all over and I still crave imperial. It is not expensive and it has a good taste. Pizza is a simple yet satisfying food and that's exactly what imperial is.

  • Tim E.

Pizza is awesome. Fair prices and whenever you order, your order is ready in 10 minutes. You could call 5pm on Good Friday, and your pizza is ready for pick up in 10 minutes. I love this place.

To start off I must say this is my favorite pizza place hands down. Their pizza is amazing. How can you beat it? Good prices, great food, fast friendly service. If you're ever in the area give this place a try. You wont be dissapointed. Beats any pizza place ive ever been to. Plus the pizza has its own original taste to it and its not a bad thing.

Best pizza for the price around town. Landmark of Delco late night solutions for beer munchies. Anyone who says otherwise is judging them unfairly.

  • Richard L.

A delco tradition to say the least. For 7 dollars a large you really can't beat the price. I always favor the sausage, it's chopped up finely and sprinkled on top. It's not the best pizza around but for the price you just cannot compete. The divey atmosphere leaves something to be desired, and so does the lackluster customer service.
