One of the nicest joints in Scranton. The building is beautiful. There is a room in the front for a bar with finished wood walls, paintings, and comfortable seating options. Parallel to that room is another fashionable lounge area. The dining area is in the back, with both booth and table options, along with another bar area. The food is exquisite and the prices are more than reasonable. Diva Theatre has a $15 wine and cheese benefit there monthly to bimonthly with entertainment, so keep an eye out for that. This is also a hot spot for wedding receptions and the like. I believe there is also a hall upstairs, but I'm not positive. And their Sunday brunch is a must!

Posh has a really nice atmosphere and my family frequents it for brunch (and lunch). If we went to church regularly, it would be a place we would go to after church. Instead, we try our best to blend in with the crowd and pretend we did. Jokes aside, if Posh was located in a major city and you looked at the pictures beforehand, you'd assume that it cost an arm and a leg to dine there. It really isn't that expensive, but I always have trouble determining if the food is worth the price. It usually turns into a somewhat existential crisis- how do you calculate fair value of food in a restaurant? It's a four star restaurant. You don't feel like you got swindled, but it also might take you a year and a half to write a review on Yelp.

I went to Posh for a wedding reception. The venue has nice décor throughout. There are different rooms inside of Posh. We had steak, crab cakes, mashed potatoes, and vegetable for dinner. Everything was cooked well (tasty). Service was attentive during passed appetizers and dinner. Bartenders were friendly but service was very slow at the bar station. Parking was a hassle but decks are located near Posh. Overall, I enjoyed the wedding reception at Posh. Colonnade & Posh has the same owners.

For Scranton, this is a good/great restaurant. The Caesar Salad is terrific, with homemade dressing. Don't miss it. Good presentation, good atmosphere, and a good meal all around.

Posh is an awesome restaurant and event space! We eat here at least once a month, and although it's not the most expensive item on the menu, the French Dip is my favorite! So juicy and delicious! Also- don't miss the cookie lava cake dessert- it's awesome. We also love the seafood and the steaks, and the five napkin burger is great, too. We had both our wedding rehearsal and day after wedding brunch here last month, and both the service and the food were fantastic. Everyone is still raving about the food- crab cakes and prime rib! Also- if you like a sweeter cocktail that's not over the top sweet, try a spring fling- elderflower liquor, sweet and sour, orange vodka, garnished with an orange( squeeze it into the drink to make it perfect). Enjoy! You won't be disappointed with this place.

I have yet to have even a mediocre time at Posh and I frequent it quite a bit. I can't say enough good things. The service, the food, the bar, the decor.. all of it great. Very New York City feel. Prices are more than reasonable every time I've had dinner there. I've attended parties, events, and had birthdays here. I've even just gone in for a drink at the bar. Really enjoy the atmosphere here. Also, it's gay-friendly. Another huge plus.

Very Nice Diner Location in Scranton. the Duck was delicious and cooked well. Great selection of Cocktails (Moscow Mule Yum) and also a great appetizer menu for lighter fare. More upscale than most Scranton locations but also much nicer atmosphere

Not sure why posh's rating seems to be so low on here. I've dined here numerous times for brunch, lunch, & dinner. I've always had excellent service and delicious food. Brunch is served with fresh fruit & some sort of scones - all great. I had the French toast and loved it. Posh offers lunch specials everyday for around 9 dollars. The prices along with the quality of the food make are unheard of- definitely take advantage of this special if you have the opportunity. It's usually posted on Facebook each day. For dinner instead of bread you get small soft pretzels sticks that are sooooo good! I've had many different entrees but I love the steak medallions served with mashed potatoes- delicious. And for dessert I recommend the chocolate chip cookie cake with vanilla ice cream so good! My favorite drink is the Blood Orange Martini or the Posh-tini. This restaurant is great for downtown Scranton!

Drinks were good. Service was unpredictable and uninformed. They could not cater to our dietary needs. Quality and presentation was not Posh.

Don't even think about going anywhere else for dinner within 50 miles; Posh is great. The Caesar salad is world class and the mahi mahi tacos don't play games. Ask for Brenda. She's a gem!

Only star is for the sweaty waitress who was attentive to our table. Went there for a sponsored dinner. Parking was difficult. Food was lousy. Cold and not very tasteful. Don't waste your money.

My visits to Posh since my last review had been limited to cocktails, so I waited until I had an actual meal to update. The cocktails, by the way, tended to be inconsistent during my visits (i.e. proportion of ingredients can vary wildly depending on the night or the bartender). Lunch at Posh was a quiet and largely underwhelming experience. We chose to sit at the bar and for nearly the entire duration of our visit were the only guests. Service, unlike my last visit, was perfectly fine. Food, also unlike my last visit, disappointingly missed the mark. Posh offers a $9 lunch special that includes a soda/coffee/tea and your choice of one menu item (salad + slider, salad + soup, pasta, etc.) but nothing in particular stood out and we skipped it in favor of the regular menu. During lunch, Posh offers their house wines (anything available by the glass) for $5. I am overwhelmingly biased toward Marlborough NZ Sauvignon blancs but this Californian was fine and the pour seemed generous for the price. I chose the "Posh 5 Napkin Burger" which shares its name with a small but wildly popular NYC-based chain of upscale burger bistros (not sure how Posh gets away with this). While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Posh would be smart to imitate 5 Napkins' signature burger (caramelized onions, rosemary aioli, gruyere, $16.75) and give it an original name. Instead, they loosely follow 5 Napkins' standard burger (cheddar, onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles and a predictable burger sauce, $14.50). Posh charges $12 for their version and while the beef itself was juicy and tasty (ordered medium, got medium+), the rest of it - particularly the stale challah bun it was on - rendered it utterly unimpressive. The hand cut fries were very good, so at least the meat & potatoes were on point. My companion ordered the cauliflower soup (served in a small crock) and fig + prosciutto salad. I sampled both and thought the soup had good taste and texture, needed a bit more salt and more of the pesto-like dollop served on top. The salad, unfortunately, was pretty undersized and served cold. Figs are not in season right now so I can only guess that they were prepped and frozen ahead of time. I was impressed with my salad here last time, despite its relative simplicity, because it was served at room temperature. This may seem like a small detail but it's critical for flavor. We were both still hungry (especially my companion) and our server managed to sell us on the idea of dessert. We both chose seasonal selections; I had an eggnog cake which was half icing and half cake (fine by me) and my companion ordered the gingerbread roll. The cake in each was fairly stale and not incredibly flavorful. The gingerbread roll was served with some heinous looking thick pink cream that tasted vaguely of strawberry yogurt and did not pair well. I don't know what they had in mind, but smearing "pink slime" very haphazardly next to what I imagine was a $7 or $8 slice of stale cake is a really poor showing. As far as I'm concerned, your best lunches in Scranton will come from Zummo's in Green Ridge or JJ McNally's downtown. No, you won't get the full bar, amazing ambiance or large menu that Posh offers, but you'll get filling portions of creative food at fair prices.

Came to a wedding here on a Saturday night, the space feels like someone's house in a good way. We were greeted with a choice of wine, the space has an elevator which makes the venue pretty much wheelchair accessible, the bathrooms were accessible as well. The food was good, the cake which I think they made at the venue was not great. We had two bartenders for the party, the bartenders didn't accept tips which I thought was sort of weird.

No complaints! Great service, chic and sophisticated (but not stuffy) atmosphere, and a great lounge area for cocktails. Before I went here, I thought it was gonna be outdated and stuck in the 70's, but it was quite the opposite. Lush carpeting and rich wood in the bar/lounge area and tasteful, not tacky decor. I never got to see the upstairs where they hold the private parties, but I imagine it would look just as nice. We ate in the main restaurant and all of us were pleased with the service and the food. For entrees, we ordered the duck, the salmon, and the swordfish (special of the day). The duck and salmon were good according to the others and my swordfish was delicious. Much bigger and meatier than I expected. All three dishes were served with risotto. That was my only complaint. While the texture was spot-on, it was a little garlicky and salty for my taste. Not enough to completely ruin my dish, however, since I pretty much licked it clean. We also split a homemade brownie a la mode for dessert and it was delicious and not overly sweet. The soft pretzel bites in a basket with spicy mustard and some sort of delicious cheese sauce were a nice, refreshing take on the traditional bread basket. Will definitely visit back here the next time I visit home, even if just for cocktails in the swanky lounge.

Posh is great! The decor is awesome, the curtains and other fabrics feature Scranton buildings!! The food was wonderful. When I went, I had a pork and apple butter flatbread for the appetizer. It was very tasty. The chicken sandwich for the entree was also great! for dessert, the lava cake with a scoop of ice cream tasted like a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie, and there was ice cream! That made it even better. It is a bit steep in terms of price but I would definitely reccomend Posh!

We were visiting Scranton and Posh was recommended (and a short walk from our B&B). The name is Posh and the food is posh, but frankly, the price was not. I expected it to be much more expensive. The surroundings and service is sophisticated but not off-putting. Our server was excellent. Each of the five of us had something different and we all enjoyed our choices (including wine and dessert). I had the roasted beet salad which suited me just fine - perfect use of beets, potatoes (yup), arugula, fennel and feta with a perfect dressing. I got a vegetarian pasta which used roasted mashed eggplant as the "dressing" and many fresh vegetables. I loved it! I really recommend this place.

Service was poor as we had a large group (16 ppl) & they had only one staff member working our table. This waitress worked her tail off & earned her tip but with such a large group, it seemed logical that more than 1 person would attend to us. We came in on the latter side of the brunch hours, with that 5 people ordered the hamburger...they all had to change their choice because they ran out of patties. We were seated at 1pm, ordered at approximately 130pm & weren't served till 230pm, this was with a quiet dining room. Finally, and this goes more to business priorities as opposed to the work flow issues mentioned above. This meal & our group were there to celebrate our daughters baptism. At multiple points in the meal, the ownership & what I assumed was mgt. passed our table by with out any acknowledgement of the event and with no "thanks for the business." Overall a disappointing experience for our party.

I've had events in some of the best places in New York and Beverly Hills, so my expectations for Posh at the Scranton Club were very high. I must say that they far exceeded my expectations for my 50th Birthday Gala. Scranton is where I grew up and this party was for family and friends. My guests have been calling with compliments about the food, service and the attention to detail. Josh, Paul and Pat stayed true to a comment that was made in our initial conversation - "We can do anything." They were always there to guide and to give suggestions when asked. I'm familiar with and I've had events in most of the locations in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and this was by far the best! I would absolutely have another event here and I can highly recommend Posh at the Scranton Club for any event, whether it's a party, wedding, etc. You are getting professionals who can handle any situation and take care of any needs you might have. You know when the owner is helping throughout the event with everything that you have found a venue that wants to make sure you are happy. If anyone has concerns or questions about choosing Posh for your event, you can feel free to contact me directly and I'd be happy to help.

I had dinner and drinks last night at Posh at The Scranton Social Club. The food was amazing! The menus was vast but not overwhelming. The food came out perfectly prepared and on time. The staff was attentive and knowledgable about the menu. The specialty drinks at the Oak Lounge were delicious and the atmosphere was lively. I highly recommend having dinner and drinks at Posh at the Scranton Social Club

For a up scale restaurant in Scranton, Posh gets it mostly right. Dinner for 4 went off without a hitch. I found the menu a bit plain, selections were limited and nothing jumped off the page at me. I settled with the pork chop and was pleasantly surprised. It was well prepared, not at all dry. Service was adequate, above average for Scranton. Loved the chocolate chip lava cake, though it wasn't completely warmed up.

I would like to start by saying Fantastic and end by saying Fantastic. My friends (6 people) and I went for dinner on a Saturday night early evening 7:00pm. From the moment we were greeted to the final goodbye it was amazing. The ambience, the food, the drinks and the service was absolutely great. My friends and I are all foodies with some type of special dietary issue such as gluten free, certain food allergies, etc, etc and the chef was able to accommodate our every request. We live 2 hours away but this is definetly on our list to come back.

My food was AMAZING here! Definitely one of the best places in Scranton. Orders came out with perfect timing and the dessert was one of the best. They bring out all of the desserts on a tray to look at and explain before deciding which is always a plus for me. The best part was that the prices were more than reasonable!

I don't think Scranton is known for it's food. However, I got really excited when some clients took us to this place. It was a converted Men's club that seemed very "posh" and had a good vibe. The menu was interesting and the bar was stocked. I was on the clock so no booze. There was a constant reminder that the service was bad. They were inattentive and didn't listen to our requests. I'm hoping it was the one waitress we had. To top it off, we had some really small portions. I ordered the Salade Nicoise. I was excited to see all the right ingredients in there. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and it is missing key things like the potatoes or beans, etc. This had all the fixings. When it came it was really small. It was a lunch portion but I was left really hungry. The taste was ok. I could have had my tuna a bit more rare. Overall, it's one of the better restaurants we have eaten at in the area. But I wouldn't drive to Scranton just to eat there. I am looking forward to eating at the place with the giant octopus on top of it.

I want to love Posh I really do. First the good. The food is excellent. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced. Their curtains are the coolest (be sure to check them out). The building is beautiful. The cocktails are interesting. Now the bad. The service. I have been here several times and each time have encountered one or both of the following: a disinterested server & painfully slow food service. The service has kept me from recommending Posh to acquaintances. I also feel that the dinner menu is overpriced. Again I want to love Posh and I hope the service improves.

There really should be two reviews, one at 2 stars and one at 4. The food is excellent at Posh, and the ambiance is quite lovely. As a vegetarian, however, I must complain about the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. I have been there for lunch, and the lunch specials seldom offer a vegetarian option. I went on Sunday, Jan 20, with a group of 13 people. Not one vegetarian option on the menu. I mentioned this to the waitress, and she came back with the offer of a mushroom risotto, which I accepted. However, one of our party also wanted the mushroom risotto, and the waitress said she could not have it because she wasn't a strict vegetarian. To deny a patron a dish already being prepared for another patron seems ludicrous. The risotto was delicious, but I believe that any decent restaurant should ALWAYS have a least one meatless, fishless option in each category: appetizer, salad, soup, entree. As for the service: orders were taken and delivered well enough. BUT a wait person SHOULD NOT call the customers "sweetheart." We do not know each other, we are not friends, and we deserve to be treated as professionals. And when it came to the bill, it was a disaster. We were divided into groups. In my group we were five, and that was indicated to the waitress several times. when the bill came, two groups were incorrectly billed, repeatedly. A party of three was billed for four, and many items were billed twice on two different checks. After having our check redone twice, I gave up and paid for two items that were not for our party, but not until making sure that the other party was not paying for the same item as well. For the kind of restaurant Posh wants to be and should be, they really need to improve the menu offerings a bit, but the service needs to be MUCH BETTER. They will lose clientele if they don't improve their service.

We made an Open Table reservation at POSH because it was Fathers Day, and were seated immediately. We had asked for a quiet table, but were seated next to the servers' station. It took several minutes for someone to bring us water, and at least ten minutes for a waiter to visit us. (My brother said, "It's a good thing we all get along - and that this isn't a first date! ) We took the precaution of ordering our brunches with our beverages, while we had the waiter's attention. We were eventually served our beverages, but I had finished my coffee before the fruit and bread arrived. This was presented without a serving utensil for the cut up fresh fruit, and the breakfast breads tasted oily. About 45 minutes after we sat down our food arrived. The tomato compote on the fritatta was salty and felt heavy and gloppy, almost like tomato paste, and the fritatta itself was not well seasoned. The bacon and ham were good, however, as were the omelettes, and the orange juiced tasted like fresh squeezed. It felt like Posh has an image it would like to portray, as evidenced by the PR and prices, but it does not live up to it.

I was amazed at the bad reviews of POSH. We went in August, 2012, after s few months of 'shakedown'. Everything was delightful, and we've dined all over the country. Our waitress was young and cute, but a bit flighty. The drinks were good and generous. we shared the lobster mac and cheese - my God it was incredible! even though we told the waitress we were sharing, she only brought one spoon.. Small stuff but not 5 star stuff. She had the pork Osso Bucco - fabulous. I had monk fish wrapped in bacon ( even after a heart attack....) also fabulous. Sides and veggies delightful. Someone complained about small portion sizes - I don't come to place like this for huge and uneatable portions. I come for well cooked and deeply flavorable food, and we had it here. the desserts were also wonderful. If I had any complaint it was that the 'feel' of the place wasn't 5 star... menus were old and wrinkled, servers were huddled and talking in plain sight. But we'll go back for the great food.
