Just Olive Garden. Sometimes I wonder why I eat this food... Service gets the 2 stars. Food, well, better off finding a non-chain in this area.

I came knob a whim and was very pleasantly surprised the food was good and the portions were just enough to fill me up. Plus the waitress was extremely friendly. I will come back.

Tonight I ordered the Giant Rigatoni with 3 cheese marinara. The sauce was surprisingly very good. The pasta not so. The first plate came out one big stuck together mass of pasta. I returned that and another plate came out. This one the pasta was the consistency of raw dough. Really awful. I left well over half on the plate and they ended up not charging me for my meal. I will go again but I have to say this was a disappointment. Nice place but they need to lose the Giant Rigatoni from the menu.

We came on a Sunday afternoon for an early birthday dinner. I personally have never been a raving Olive Garden fan; However, our family had quite a wonderful time, the service was 4 star the meals were of moderate proportion, and they kept, nicely, the birthday cake we brought. We did notice the silverware wasnt properly polished, and we found a little 'welcome surprise' on our littlest's fork. I ordered the parmesan asparagus starter followed by the ravioli di portabello dinner. The Asparagus was very tastey but I HIGHLY DOUBT it was organic, which is important to me. The raviolis were yummy and served with a pink sauce that yet, lacked character in comparison with the menu's description, in a florette arrangment of six. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Salad was fresh and we finished woth coffees.. our server was very prompt, down to earth and helpful.

Used to like it. Discovered better pasta elsewhere. Alfredo sauce is watery. Prices are expensive. Waits too long. But those breadsticks... Yes, PLEASE!

Where do I start? Ok, I have to say the staff there in general are a bunch of great people. Very nice, welcoming to the restaurant and obviously willing to cater to your needs. I saw the commercial for the modified Tour of Italy meal and I really liked the idea! I went here and I ordered my usual, Raspberry Sweet Tea and a starter of the Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta. It's my absolute fave anywhere I go! Except for here... When I got my cheesy delight, I was a bit turned away from actually wanting to eat it. After looking at it I was not so happy, it had a thick layer of oil sitting on top of the cheese as though it had just been pulled out of the microwave, most likely the case was it was cooked too fast at a super high temp and the cheese basically separated was very stringy. Then I decided to just. Give it a try anyway... The bread slices were stuck together and no where near toasty as they should of been. The manager was nice enough to remove it from my bill and offered me something else. I just didn't want to risk it if I was already unhappy with my appetizer. So I moved on to my salad... Can't really mess that up. My Tour of Italy showed up. I ordered the Chicken Parm, five cheese ziti and he lasagna. I was too hungry to send it back when I saw the over cooked noodles of the ziti and the saw how dry and crispy the chicken parm was... I just put more sauce on it and moved on. The only thing I can say for sure was the lasagna was great! Even the breadsticks were a bit on the crispy over cooked side. Being I worked at the OG (not this one) for two years I can say, I know the standards and they were not met with the food they served me here. Can't blame the wait staff but someone needs to get on cooks! I think I'm being nice with a 3 star rating but I didn't wait long, (now I know why) my table was in a cozy area and the atmosphere was decent. I can't say I won't go back, but it just won't be any time soon, at least not this one.

I received a gift card for this place and decided to order takeout.. Food was bland and wasn't very good. Also we ordered an appetizer that was bread based. It was put into a warm container. The bread was soaked with condensation, absolutely terrible! The salad was good, but that was about it.

Ate here because we couldn't agree on a local place and settled on this place. Waitress was good... friendly and prompt with drinks, soup and salad but there was some bad lettuce in the salad Our meal came out within a reasonable amount of time and was tasty but I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants and truth be told, I'd rather a local, non-chain restaurant.

I've always been skeptical of the service and food quality at chain restaurants. I typically go into a meal at a chain expecting nothing and hoping for 'decent.' After waiting a half hour on an early Saturday night for a table, I was famished. We ordered the risotto balls as an appetizer and they were out of this world, can't wait to get them again. We also ordered two draft beers. After about 10 minutes, the waitress came back and let us know that they were out and apologized for the delay. After getting different drinks, we placed our entree order, and waited about 40 minutes. The waitress said that the kitchen was backed up and she'd comp our appetizer and offered free dessert. Great customer service that made a slightly annoying situation that wouldn't have been a big deal into a big win for the restaurant! I'll certainly be back.

If you have ever been to an Olive Garden, then this one is not going to be any different. The staff was friendly and the wait time (even on a Saturday night) is not that bad. Once in a while I try the past dishes and they are usually pretty good. Although, I recommend the all you can eat bread sticks and salad which has always been my favorite.

I ate here once during my teenage years. I thought the pasta was delicious but I felt ill halfway through. I have eaten many meals containing raw fish, raw beef, undercooked food from less-than-sanitary kitchens, and even once ate a baby pigeon. But never in my life have I felt sick during or after a meal in a way that could be attributed to the food. It happened here. I thought my father would chastise me for eating too fast if I complained to my parents, so I didn't complain until my parents visibly saw that I was not feeling well. When the server came to take our meals away, I was embarrassed that I had finished nothing more than a child's portion (similar to how much my college roommate Tony Ge eats), and plainly stated that I didn't feel good. The meal was comped without us asking. My parents were embarrassed probably because: 1. Who really eats at Olive Garden? and 2. Who tries to get discounts at Olive Garden? After thinking about it for some time, we were a bit suspicious of the meal being comped. I otherwise can't knock the restaurant. I don't know why someone living in the Scranton area would come here regularly as there are limitless Italian restaurants dotted up and down the valley.

I'm judging this Olive Garden against other Italian restaurants in the area. In some areas, I'm sure Olive Garden is 3-4 star quality because it's the best you can do. Here in NEPA there are so many great Italian places, it's just silly to go to a chain. It just can't compare to many of the other great local choices.

Going to olive garden on a Saturday for dinner is typically going to be a hard-earned lesson in patience, but upon arriving at the Dickson City OG we were told a 20 minute wait, which is expected, and we were surprised when our table was ready in less than 10 minutes. We were getting comfortable in the bar area, which offered plenty of seating a full menu, and great service. I went for the never-ending pasta for $9.95, which is a limited time promotion. The quality of the food was of an acceptable level. The dishes come from the kitchen quickly, which is good. The only two mishaps occurring during my visit were: 1) the wine glasses on the table were in a less than presentable state(water spots) and 2) my entree came from the kitchen before my soup.

We have been at this location many times. always found it enjoyable. We went the past week, and the attitude we received from the hostess was unacceptable. We asked not to be seated by the screaming kid we heard . was it really too much to ask. " I don't know SIR" When we were seated the music was pl;aying so loud we could not hear our server, we asked if it could be turned down. A floor manager stopped by and asked if there was anything she could do, yes please turn the music down a bit. when the server returned he tried to take our order but we could not hear him. we asked if the music was turned down he yes he asked the manager to do so. but by that time we were so frustrated and annoyed we apologized to the server , nothing he did, just the management staff and hostess...we left. I really don't need an attitude when I want to eat out.

It's alright. The food is hit and miss sometimes and so is the service here. Expect a long wait if you go during lunch or dinner peak hours.

I don't even want to give this one a star! We go to OG when we are away from home, because the food is consistent. We were surprised to find the dirtiest bathrooms and our orders came out wrong and then took forever to come the right way. The service was poor. The restaurant is dirty.

Wish I could give this restaurant zero stars! I know this is long but please read through! I have been there a few times dining in and it was never really anything to rave about but I love their soups so I decided to get a takeout. I called and knew exactly what I wanted but it took nearly 7 minutes for the girl to take my order, she had the hiccups and was screaming in my ear, I had to repeat myself multiple times. I arrived at the quoted time and told the host I was there for a takeout she didn't even look up from what she was doing she just pointed to the counter, when I got to the counter there was 4 or 5 employees standing there they each took a glance at me but just stood there talking laughing and on their phones for nearly 10 minutes finally a manager walked out who was dressed in a flannel shirt and looked totally unprofessional, after one of the girls saw him she finally decided to ask if I needed something, I gave her my name and she went into the back she didn't come back for 15 minutes and all I ordered was soup breadsticks and cheesecake, she finally got me the bag and asked me to wait a couple minutes because she didn't have a drawer to get my change so after waiting another 15 minutes the same manager finally came out and I was able to pay, upon arriving home the soup was cold because it sat on top of my frozen solid cheesecake and half the breadsticks were rock hard and the other half were undercooked, will never be returning EVER and I suggest everyone do the same unless you like bad food and terrible service from obnoxious employees!

My review has nothing to do with food. I recently interviewed with Olive Garden for a server position. I was hired on the spot. This was on a Tuesday. They told me my training would start the following week and would require a full-time schedule. I meanwhile quit my other job so I could devote the time to Olive Garden, as I believed it was a better position. Four weeks and three phone calls later, I have yet to even hear of a starting date. Every time I've called to schedule, I have received rude and illinformed information about my tentative start date. I've even been told, "you aren't the only one waiting on a phone call so when we get to scheduling we will give you a call." In this economy it is downright sickening that a restaurant would promise someone work and then never call back. I am struggling because I quit my former job and now I have no work. Shame on Olive Garden. Just because it is a chain does not mean it should forget good customer service and manners.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
