Good old industrial bakery that has a shop out front. We got there around 3 o'clock on a Monday so pickin's we're slim. Still picked up some rolls, Danish and bakery pizza, all were delish! Folks that work there are very nice. Stop in if you are in the neighborhood.

Good hard rolls but that's about it. Each time we went and bought a dozen rolls there weee only 11 in the bag. This last time we bought 2 dozen only to find 22 rolls. Went back and complained. Was asked to ID the date and time. Then was told the girl who counts, them out can't count. Said they have had many other complaints. Made no effort to rectify oast shortages nor discipline their "counter". RECOMEND NOT TO FREQUENT THEM. PRODUCT MAY BE GOOD BUT NOTHING LIKE MAKING EXTRA PROFIT AT THE HANDS OF OTHER BUSINESSES. WILL RWPORT TO BUREAU OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES TO MONITOR AND FINE!

Inexpensive prices on always-fresh baked goods that have kept my family satisfied for decades.

The pastrie we got from National Bakery were excellent and a very good value too. Service was extra friendly.

I went twice this past weekend and bought tons of bakery goods and pizza both times. Both times the food was great and prices even better. The only difference was that the younger workers don't seem cheerful while the older woman who served us most recently was a doll. Either way, I will be returning every time I'm in Scranton.

I guess its one of those place that you either love it or hate it. I've been there half a dozen times over the years and didn't have any good experience. The staff just wasn't friendly - consistently. It really doesn't take that much effort to crack a smile or say thank you. It really doesn't. May be others had better experience. For me, I gotta say: "Meh, I've experienced better."

I have to agree Great baked goods. Great pricing on bread, can't be beaten. Excellent T-biscuits. I would put them up against anything out there. Yes the staff is great maybe they can tell who the real Ne Paer's are lol. Who cares anyway too. I am there for the great baked goods. If in their hood stop by and get the bread.

Great baked goods. I read the review about the staff not being super friendly, but I found them to be pleasant enough. But who cares anyway. They have the best baked goods. I have had the Italian bread and they have these little yellow cakes with chocolate and peanut butter - they are simply to die for!

OH MAN! OH MAN! Best hard rolls in the unisphere, A National Hard Roll with butter is the reson im coining the term "EATrection" so cheap,so good! the foot ball buns rule and the moon shaped ones and the 2 foot long hoagie buns win!

Love the Nat, great bakery with all the trimmings. My personal favorite is their sliced bread. (Hard rolls are very good, too) I know it seems nuts to be a fan of sliced bread, but the crust is nice and chewy while the inside is soft and wonderful. Not a bland soft blah that most loaves of sliced bread are. They don't use preservatives, I don't think, because the shelf life is about a day...but it's great!
