Currently staying here. Friday morning to tomorrow morning. The only positive part was some nice people at the front desk and one very nice bartender. Horrible experience. TV volume doesn't work. Red stains on floor and toilet paper never refilled. No help at the breakfast either. I complained about children screaming for hours in the room next to us without any resolution. Also my little sister went to get coffee at 8 AM and was in an elevator with forty year old men from a wedding reception who were sniffing cocaine. Definitely not happy and won't stay again.

Business manager responded to my previous review through private message. Nice to see a business address criticism and try to improve.

I have so much to say about this place. First, there's a coupon you get for a free appetizer if you check in through Yelp. NOBODY seems to know about it. I don't know if this is Yelp doing it or if the company did it and the staff is uninformed. Either way it's a task trying to get anyone to honor the coupon. We're Executive level. For some reason that doesn't mean Executive treatment. First week didn't get an upgrade. Second week got upgraded to an executive suite but it had none of the executive items in the room. It was a regular room on the executive level ( after promising us that it would be a suite ). Third week finally get the suite. Hoping the next time I come up there we'll be in the suite.\ Then there was a point I was talking about the coupon to someone on staff and the guy had the nerve to tell me that their kitchen was closed. CLOSED? I remember ordering their late yesterday. It turns out it wasn't closed and we almost missed out on ordering dinner. I'm pretty sure he thought I was attending only for food and that I wasn't already checked in. Kind of insulted about that but whatever. The next staff member gave my husband free soda as an apology. The food here is phenomenal. The staff is even better. Please go for the Steakhouse Burger. You will thank me. Most of the items is overpriced for what they serve, but it is good food. Breakfast is fantastic, too. It's a decent hotel. Not the best but not the worst.

This hotel is lovely and the service I received was exceptional! Starbucks is on the premises but the hours are only in the mornings. Not to worry since there are a few within walking distance from the hotel. The cooks are awesome and the bartenders are professional. Loved it here!

Really liked this property. 9.00 parking. Great restaurant w Filet mignon (4oz) dinner under $20. Friendly staff. Very comfortable beds and toiletries in room. Nice temperature unit that regulates itself when set. Breakfast buffet. Full service in Downtown Scranton. They do sell out during the week. So you have to be sure to get a reservation in. They have an airport shuttle and the shuttle will also take you to various areas within a certain radius of the hotel. Two thumbs up!

We spent two nights in this hell hole in September. The Hotel had rented out a ball room for a wedding reception which included unrelentingly loud music which permeated the guest rooms above. My bed literally vibrated from the noise. Calls to the front desk promised that the music would be toned down. Requests to be moved to a quieter room on an upper floor were ignored. Drunken wedding guests noisily roamed the hallways well into the wee hours - shouting to one another and laughing with glee. It's obvious that once this hotel had my money, it didn't care one whit about my guest experience. It was absolutely and completely non-responsive to my complaints about the midnight boogie-thon. This Hilton is in the business of selling lodging - a place to rest and sleep. Hilton provided neither and displayed a remarkable indifference to my sleepy midnight complaints. Pick another place to stay if you want to sleep.

We stayed here this Saturday(8/9) night as part of a wedding that took place at the Scranton Club. Our experience was horrible from the time we checked in, first the woman at the desk stated that check out was 11am, this turned out to be incorrect. Our room was fine a standard king room,we stayed on the third floor and from 2pm-5pm there was a loud barking dog in an adjacent room, it was so loud that we were completely unable to relax in the gap between the wedding ceremony and the reception. The hotel was unable to give us the accessible room we requested which was a HUGE inconvenience. While the room fit a standard wheelchair the bathroom was completely inaccessible. We called the front desk to ask them for a cab number so we could get to the reception and the worker stated that the Scranton Club was too close and we should walk. My partner has difficulty walking and sometimes uses a wheelchair walking a half mile is out of the question, when pressed the worker gave me a number and said "he probably won't pick you up." We paid $30 extra to have access to the breakfast buffet, which we had to make a special trip to the front desk to get a breakfast voucher, the woman handed it to us with a nasty sneer. The breakfast which on the website sounds lovely, in reality it was horrendous, the staff failed to greet us when we walked in and over 50% of the tables were dirty at about 11:30am. Instead of offering to make us omelets the staff sneered at us and continue gossiping. I retrieved utensils and napkins from the hostess station and we were there for over 15 minute before being offered drinks. The eggs were gray and molded to the ribs of the chafing dish. Everything was mislabeled and the restaurant was dirty. The long, unwelcoming stay ended with us being stuck in the parking lot(even though we validated parking with the front desk on Saturday), after being questioned and asked rudely if we had paid we were finally allowed to leave the clutches of the Scranton Hilton and Conference Center. I would never come back and I would never stay at a Hilton again. Prior to this experience I thought that the HIlton chain of hotels were on the upper end better than like the Marriott, but this proved me way way wrong. Do not stay here.

Hilton in Scranton PA seems to win its fair share of awards. I have stayed here several times over the past few years always on business. The rooms are well-appointed with clean lines. The hotel is always clean and the staff is always very friendly. Parking is $10 a night and is next door to the hotel in a secure parking garage. The gym is impressive for a hotel. Stocked with dumbbells, swiss balls, treadmills, ellipticals, cable machines, and medicine balls. Also this hotel is equipped with a decent size pool for some extra cardio if needed. As a road warrior it is very helpful for business to have fast internet as well as Starbucks on call. The Starbucks down stairs is a great resource for early mornings or effects of late nights.

I have been to this hotel more frequently than any other hilton property this year. People are always friendly and the bar/restaurant is always decent. Pricey drinks and no happy hour. Not sure why they do not provide this, but they don't. When I first started coming here they had a reception once a week or so. I may have just missed it these last few times or they may have stopped doing it. Parking is so so. Dingy garage that is dangerous so drive slow. Rooms are always clean. Finally on my 15th or so stay they upgraded me. I did not even think they had suites. A suite to them means a little bigger room with a couch in it. Nothing too great. The lobby is so so. Plain and simple. Nothing fancy. Overall, great place to stay in Scranton.

So, let's start with the rooms, nothing special but decent bed (king) and clean. Friendly staff at the front desk as well as the cleaning staff. The breakfast buffet is very good and they have a very attentive staff as well. Now the bad, the parking garage sucks,it's filthy as well as the outside of this hotel - it needs a good power washing. Finally the bar is a waste of space, I have stayed here 5 times in the last 2 years and every time it think, when are they going to do something about this vanilla bar.

I usually stay in IHG hotels, but the location of this one in relation to the Unoversity of Scranton is optimal only being 5 minutes away. The rooms are clean and spacious. It has an older classic style. Parking in a garage is provided for $9 per day. The restaurant is good too.

Stayed three nights while in town for a family function in nearby Jermyn, PA. Rooms: The Rooms were probably our best part. Seemed fairly modern, bed was nice, newish television. Nice amenities. And I know it's fairly standard now but it is nice to get free buffet. Gym: Precor gym was mainly cardio machines, and a multi-use Buffet: Breakfast buffet was in my opinion not up to Hilton standards. It was really just generic in every single sense of the word. The room was also quite under-staffed so the servers were prevented from really giving sufficient service. Parking: Note $10 per day, which was a slight surprise. However it is close and ample. Location: Probably one of the better locations in town, everything we needed in walking distance. Lobby: Had the 'business center' and bar with a starbucks open in the morning. The downstairs didn't really have a coherent design to me but then again could be an older building and that's just the space they were dealt. Checkout: easy checkout, amenable to late check outs and they put your charges under the door in the morning which is nice. Conclusion: Cookie cutter place. Pretty clean. Served its purpose. I would stay again, but would probably walk the two extra blocks for breakfast.

The Scranton Hilton bounced 7 of our KUSBDC to another hotel even though we had reservations for three weeks. Terrible experience. What they failed to recognize is the group they bounced works with thousands of tourist and businesses each year and the Hilton just became our best example to use as poor customer service throughout our media channels.
(1)Beki T.
The room was amazing, toiletries were better than any hotel I've been to, a cozy robe was waiting for me, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud and it was a well decorated room. More importantly than that, I was welcomed to the Hilton with more hospitality than any other hotel. The front desk girl went above and beyond to give me the best rate possible, amazing perks for being in the military and was most concerned with my safety and happiness. If you are traveling like I was and just want a nice, safe place to stay, I couldn't have higher praise for this hotel. I am now a Hilton honors member and don't plan on staying at any other hotel.

They treat me like a VIP each visit; rooms are nice, clean, modern and newly renovated. Food is very good for a hotel; the breakfast staff are top notch.

I had the pleasure of attending the New Years Eve party at the Hilton. The food was fantastic (prime rib was especially good) and the bands kept everything lively and everyone energized. I have to say the two girls upfront were a delight as well. Danielle and Brittany they introduced themselves as and they were welcoming and very friendly. I highly recommend going next year if you are in the area! Sean F

The Hilton staff reached out to me to address my concerns and I was really happy and appreciative of that.

Wow...have not even stayed here yet...Had to book a room within a wedding block, I had to call back three times for them to figure it out. All of this I tried to do quickly while I was at work, then immediately transferred to hear "promotions" where the salesmen basically would not let me get off the phone, after reminding him multiple times that I also was working. Haha ..Wow...Get it together.

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were REALLY nice. The staff was extremely nice. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. The restaurant was loud and the service was slow. Overall, a good experience and I would go back, but would not eat at the hotel restaurant and eat out.

We found space after losing power with Sandy. Surprisingly excellent all around performance. Am Hilton Diamond and have stayed in mediocre to cruddy suburband and smaller city Hiltons. This one was much nicer and comparable to their best properties. Extremely nice, helpful staff. Clean, updated room. Big breakfast buffet. Rates are excellent, $129 AAA rate for 2 double beds. Only complaint is that self-park does not have inside access directly into hotel, you have to walk outside for about 50 feet. Otherwise a gem. Don't really have a reason to come back to Scranton but if we ever have another problem with power we will book here quickly.
(5)Bernie D.
Great hotel. Great staff. Very clean, comfortable. I don't like that you have to pay for parking but it's understandable. I'll be back.
(5)Lauren E.
I was in Scranton for a wedding and stayed at the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center. No complaints about our room. It was clean, spacious and had WiFi. I would stay here again.

Hilton has been a very good experience. We have been here a few days, and have a few more left. The front desk has been great, even donating a Christmas poinsettia since we have no tree and are here for the holiday. Casey's Corner has pretty good chicken soup, beyond that I think the menu needs a little bit of a freshen. It is tricky to balance a menu that appeals to travelers from all over the US and Canada, as well as not ignoring the local community. That's tough, but not impossible. It could be done with specials. Would love to see some local wine and beer on the menu. The rooms are updated, sleek, and modern. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Housekeeping is ninja-like in their work, I can see it is done, but never see them do it. Parking is in a garage right next to the hotel. It is really simple. The reviews that I have seen make a bigger issue of the parking than it needs to be. It is really a nonissue and is a much shorter walk than one might experience at a grocery store or the mall or some thing. Room service is cheap, the breakfast buffet cost about what a breakfast with coffee will cost in the neighborhood. Very reasonable. Wi-Fi also free, many places it is not, an annoyance. My complaint is the same as it is everywhere, so perhaps it is just me. But, I really, really get annoyed with in-room coffee service that is not reasonably stocked. My thought is to offer it right, or do not offer it at all.

Stayed here for a wedding two weeks ago. Hotel served its purpose and had no complaints until two weeks later... A smoking charge of $200 appeared on my credit card statement. I have never smoked in my life. Not so much as one cigarette. I always request non-smoking rooms when given the option because even the smell bothers me. No way I would be smoking. Called the hotel to address and was told someone would call me back in 30 minutes. Still waiting on that call. Hilton corporate is trying to help, but they are slow as well. Read some other reviews of this hotel, particularly on google, this is not isolated. Some deceptive things going on here. Stay somewhere else and avoid the potential hassle.

This may be my favorite hotel, with the sole exception of the Hilton in New Orleans on St. Charles, where I also spend alot of time. These rooms are the best; quiet and dark with the most comfy beds...you'll forget you're not at home. I sleep poorly on the road, and I'm on the road often, but I always get a good night's sleep here. The staff is wonderful; very warm and welcoming. I was here on my birthday one year and Doug let them know...they brought chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling water to the room with a card that was signed by probably whoever was on staff that day, and they had already upgraded us to a spa suite. I only felt a little guilty using all that water for one bath. It was my birthday, after all! I'm always on my way from somewhere else to somewhere else when I stay here, and usually end up checking in late, so I haven't tried the food here.

Stayed one night on the way to visit family in NY. Hotel was clean, modern and well-appointed, and I'd stay again. Staff was very friendly upon check-in and directed us to nearby parking ($10 overnight). It was a busy weekend evening, and there was live music in the bar and a wedding as well. Place seemed packed but we had no problems getting checked in and into our room quickly. Immediately took advantage of the free WiFi. Shouldn't ALL hotels offer free Internet?Theirs was fast and an easy connect. Room was well-decorated, bathroom was modern and clean. Nice flat-screen TV, and beds were comfy. Breakfast next morning included with the room was very good, with high level of service continuing. A lot of healthy choices along with usual eggs, potatoes, bagels, etc. Only gripe if I have to list one was the smokers outside the lobby entrance that I had to wade through on my way in and out.

The hotel was nice. I stayed on the 7th floor. Room was average. Staff was very friendly. The indoor pool was clean and nice size. The exercise room is has the basic cardio machines. I think the breakfast buffet was a little pricey. (for two it was 24) I don't eat that much food and I'd rather just pay for the meal. However, it is right downstairs. I think maybe tomorrow I will get the made-to-order omlette. Their french toast- meh. Starbucks kiosk- BLAH! The chai soy, which I swear he made with milk, was horrible. And the chai was not good either.

In Scranton and am very sick while here to visit mom who is in hospital. Bummer. But...a huge bright spot: this hotel. Large rooms, extremely clean. Great staff. Super food. Being sick away from home is awful but this hotel is as good as being home. That's really a huge compliment to them. Thankyou Hilton Scranton.

Hotel was nice. The lady at the counter was rude. I came w coworkers who got rooms and when I approached the counter and gave her my name she said, "ur rooms not ready". No explanation. It was like pulling teeth to get her to tell me it wasn't ready b/c the didn't clean it and my profile said non smoking. The toilet seat in my room slipped to the side when I sat on it. Laughing at it now but at the time I thought I was going down!! Lol I would have given this place 1 star but Joe and Ken at the counter during the evening were hilarious and gave me a complimentary breakfast slip for my inconvenience. Thanks to them, the hotel gets 3 stars.

If I have to stay in Scranton again, this is where I will do it. Clean room, comfortable beds, fair workout room, nice coffee in the morning.
(4)Rich P.
Very nice hotel. We stayed with our dog. Staff was very nice. Room was immaculate. There is a nice dog park about 10 minutes away.

Pretty standard for a Hilton Hotel, and probably much nicer than anything you'll find around the Scranton area. good stuff... -They have a shuttle than runs from 6A - 11P. It takes you from/to the airport, or wherever you might want to go (maximum distance i'm not sure of). If you need a ride outside of those times, they can accommodate. -Near "downtown" Scranton; walking distance from drug stores, restaurants, bars, etc. -24 hour gym; very nice hotel gym. has weights, medicine balls, basic cardio, Precor multi-muscle machines, Pull up bar (rare to find pull up bars in hotel gyms, lol) -swimming pool & jacuzzi (not sure about the time; probably not 24/7) -24 hour snack room in the lobby (not that much selection, but it gets the job done) -mini-fridge -bar downstairs -friendly staff bad stuff... -why do the rooms have an HD-compatible TV w/o HD service? I'd rather have a normal TV with normal service than an HD w/ normal service...picture quality is weird. -breakfast buffet is expensive for meh food -if there are rowdy people on your floor, you will definitely hear them -staff doesn't seem to be "into" scranton... i've asked a few where to go eat, and they just say eat at the hotel lol (i know they want the hotel to make $$, but come on...)
(3)Ester B.
I liked this hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff. A little expensive. Nice swimming pool and gym. The breakfast was very good.

Good times in Scranton, PA lol! My gf and I took our fan of 'The Office' to the next level and took a weekend off and went to Scranton, PA! Our experience was a lovely one. Staying at the Hilton was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and the concierge was extremely helpful. He let us know where everything was that we wanted to see. The in-door pool was a hit and their breakfast bar was yummy in our tummies! If you ever head to Scranton, PA! Not sure why you would go unless you were from there or a fan of 'The Office'. Stay at the Hilton! It's close to everything and you'll have a pleasant experience.
(4)Wayne S.
Overall a nice hotel. The poor lady at check in was nice and professional but overworked. I had to wait some time to be checked in. Management needs to get off their duffs and come out and help when it's that busy. You don't have a hotel that large and charge the rates you do and only have one person at the desk at 3PM on a weekday. The room was nice enough but two major issues. No fridge and an old TV. No hi def which makes no sense. Modernize Hilton and put a fridge in all rooms. I didn't eat the the hotel restaurant based on some comments made by a hotel employee. Not the front desk staff. EDIT: Actually I wound up eating at the restaurant since I had a fre buffet ticket. It was a good breakfast overall. The bacon was by far the best bacon I think I've ever had at a restaurant in a hotel.
(3)L. L.
Very cool atmosphere, and very nice rooms. We parked in the lot outside and didn't have to pay. There was a wedding reception there late at night, so it was a bit loud till about 11 (the sound echoes through the main atruim), but then it quieted down.
(4)Brian L.
Very nice hotel that is suited for te business traveler. They have all you need for your work trip and the staff is friendly. It is a little pricey and the breakfast is $12.95 which is a good amount for a buffet.
(4)Gretchen G.
It's the only game in town for the serious business traveler. Don't even think about going to the Radisson.
(4)Cheyne M.
I stayed at the Hilton Scranton while traveling for work for 4 months, and I often ate dinner and had drinks at PJ's Pub. I'm a definite fan b/c the food was way above average and the service was top notch. I always felt at home at PJ's and I never left disappointed. It was a true home away from home. A great place to chill, relax, eat and drink during the week.
