Came here with a Marywood graduate who raved about this place having "The best damn sandwich I ever had." who hadn't visited in over 30 years. You know how it goes, things never taste as good as they did when you were back in college, but I personally liked it just fine. The hoagie was a good size with a nice choice of Italian meats and cheese, lettuce, tomato and an interesting sauce, which seemed to be a blend of yellow mustard and mayo. Tiny inside with just a few places to sit, so it's mainly a take out place and did a good business of that! Good selection of local chips and sodas, including "Hanks" brand. Oh yes, they do have picnic tables outside too. All in all, a good experience. Would have been even more fun if Joe Biden had stopped in since it's his favorite place in the old neighborhood!!

Great place! I used to live down the street from here and I would come here all the time. It's a great little sandwich place. The turkey one was my favorite; I also enjoyed the steak & cheese. The place is cool too (there are buttons from all the presidential elections and I think there's an arcade game lol) I remember getting a bag of hoagies and having something of a picnic with friends at one point.

The best hoagie a girl could ever ask for. The family owned shop is a little gem situated on a hill in Green Ridge that can take anyone back to the 50's. With plenty of local favorites already spelled out on the marquee and a family of sandwich artists that are flexible and creative you will never be disappointed. While waiting for your hoagie take some time to look at a neutral display of political memorabilia, grab some penny candies, or play an old arcade game. While you're at it why not join the team and grab yourself a Hanks Heroes t shirt seeing the cost of a meal is always too good to be true. I'm not sure if its the National Bakery rolls, the wax bags, or the love they put into it, and even though my taste buds have matured out of the cheese & ketchup phase of life its all I crave. Every time I return home I still have my mom pick up one for me and the owner still recognizes who its for, 15 years from the first time I ordered one. And that ladies and gentlemen is what makes a business.

If you're looking for a great inexpensive hoagie this is THE place to go in Scranton. I stopped by Hanks' with four other friends on Saturday 9/8/12. We ordered 5 Italian hoagies ($4.25/each) and everyone in the group loved them! The roll, meat, spices and oil were classic hoagie fixings. I grew up outside Philadelphia and without reservation I'm happy to say that the hoagie that I had at Hank's was one of the best hoagies that I've ever head If you're really hungry and want more meat just order two.

WOAH! PEOPLE TOTALLY BANG THIS PLACE! They have pretty good cheap small hoagies(might wanna get two) but it's been there for a long time and has that neighborhood place feel.

Fantastic country store themed sandwich shoppe located in a neighborhood. The family takes care of the place and takes pride in making a good lunch, meats are quality, special sauce is delicious, and time to eat was fast. Overall great lunch spot!!!

Hank's Hoagies are quite the find- their methodology is so refined. Local luminary Johnny Rockaway (of Underberry's and Green Ridge fame) showed us this spot on his tour of Scranton, PA, my first stop on a cross country trip with my girlfriend. You see, he was one of the original owners of the place back in the late 70s. This neighborhood spot brought us back to a seemingly older, purer time. Lots of Americana, old arcade machines, a tasty sandwich, and smiles on our faces. If you're ever in town, give this place a try.

I love Hank's Hoagies! I have lived in SF for 7 years and I still dream of Hank's! The Italian with oil and vinegar is delicious. Their meat is thin cut and delicious and recommended.

Tried to place a large catering order a week in advance and then called and spoke to an employee two days before our scheduled order and gave it to one of the workers. Called the morning of to confirm and was told that the order was never communicated and they could not make it. Tried to blame me for not speaking to the right employee there and showed no remorse for their mistake. Awful customer satisfaction do NOT trust them!
