Best burgers in the area. Somewhat expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you're a single person only order the small French fries - its more than enough for one person. The portions are huge! The restaurant itself is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is open so you can watch while the cooks prepare your burger and make sure they're taking the correct sanitary measures when it comes to food preparation. Its no surprise that 5 Guys regularly wins awards for their burgers.

Excellent burgers and fries. Nice staff and a very clean restaurant. They also have a pretty darn good BLT also

What else can be said about Five Guys. Awesome burgers, I like them better than In N Out. Come here regularly and will continue to.

Typical Five Guys food, but they always put a TON of spice into the cajun fries. As in, way too much. I want to enjoy my fries, not be set on fire by them. They're the only Five Guys I've been to that overloads the seasoning!

Best burgers. Lots of fries. And free peanuts while you wait for your order, good location.

It's a great burger, what can I say. No frills, real basic layout. The normal burger is actually a double. They have peanuts in the shell that you can help yourself to while you wait for your order. THe burgers are fairly thick but they only come well done. The fries are fresh cut daily. This place is a chain but it's good. It's not cheap for burgers and fries but it's worth it when you need that greasy fix. I've been to several locations in different cities. It's consistently good, although you're at the mercy of your local burger crew. It's one of my 15-year old's favorite places to eat and has been for years.

This is the 1st 5Gs I was ever at. I now live in CA and have yo say this location is on of the better run 5Gs. Low wait times and always bery consistent. Whenever Im back in Scranton and crave a burger, this is the place I go to. Keep up the great work team!

This place reminds me of a cheezy, late-night infomercial called Greasy Burgers Gone Wild. Loud music with young, somewhat novice staff, and greasy, low-quality burgers that ain't necessarily cheap. Ordered the double-cheese with bacon and out came a double-cheese with no bacon. Simple mistake if the place was slammed, but the place was slow. Perhaps Junior was plugged into his device? Ok, move on. A few minutes go by before the dining area was overcome with industrial strength bathroom deodorizer. What now? A customer upon exiting lit up a smoke and some smoke blew into the dining area. Little Miss decided to do right by the diners by liberally spraying the room with deodorizer. Barf. Next time, drive through.

This store is brand standard for five guys. Good burgers and fries. The standard burger is a double (single patty is a small on the menu). The best part of five guys (besides the peanuts) is you start with basic burgers and add what you want. Really good crave able food.

If you have never been to a Five Guys, it needs to be on your subconscious radar. You can't miss the sign. It is gigantic with white lettering on a red background and says FIVE GUYS. The burgers here might kill you they are so good. I start to crave 5 guys and its over. Before I know it I spent $11 on lunch again:) Its worth the guilt. At least go for it once.

Where oh where has my little review gone? Well I am to guess it was asked to be taken down due to it's less than flattering nature. Although it wasn't totally bad. Just my honest opinion of my visits to the restaurant. I will now try to recap my past experience. I use to stop here quit frequently when my fiance was still in school. She worked up the road, and on the weekends we would go out to lunch on her break. Having limited options for a quick Saturday/Sunday meal, we stopped by Five Guys often. This is a burger joint, so there are no high expectations of service or food quality to be had. The first few visits were great, fast good freshly cooked food, ample amount of french fries, and just the right amount of volume on the classic rock. I think you can see where this is going from here. The initially made the burgers correctly then this would begin to drop off and be missing a condiment here or added something there. All acceptable, as the food as made to order and the portions were large and left the tummy feeling happy afterwards. Being a chain burger joint, the turn over rate is quit frequent, and the guilty of management is... well not there at all. There went from being an average age ratio of 26 to about 18. And I am talking mangers as well as cooks and counter staff. With the drop in "adult supervision," of course the volume went up on the classic rock (at least it stayed classic rock and didn't turn to Hoobastank or any of that crap). The inevitable more mess ups of the simple orders, the extreme lack of counter service and zero dining room clean up and restocking of the condiments. So we filtered out Five Guys from our lunch roster and ended up just getting MTO from Sheetz and eating in the car. I can't speak for any of the other local Five Guy's chains, as I only hit a few of them up once or twice. So I can't really comment on the power of persuasion they have on me to come back for more or not. But I will say, I don't plan any return trips to this location. At least it will not be my idea to swing in for a burger and some fries.

Definitely the best burger joint in the Scranton area. Service is always quality and fast.

simple and effective menu. when you order to go, they fill the fry cup then dump more in the bag for good measure!! ordered from here a few days ago and since the card machine was down they gave me my food on the house. super fast friendly service, no frills and bull. just awesome food

If you're a fan of home cut fries and good choice beef you'll love Five Guys. For around $10 you get a double cheeseburger with your choice of free toppings (Mayo, Relish, Onions, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled, Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Ketchup, Mustard, Jalapeno Peppers, Green Peppers, A-1 Sauce, Bar-B-Q Sauce, Hot Sauce), an overflowing bag of hand cut and freshly fried fries, and a drink. To tide you over while you wait there's boxes of peanuts around the restaurant for you to munch on.

HOLY MOLY! BEST BURGERS AND FRIES EVER! I kinda wish it wasn't so "fast foody" of a place. i wish I could sit in a nice environment and eat such amazing food. Free peanuts ta boot! PIBB!

My favorite burger! Everything is so fresh and tastes wonderful! I recently came here for lunch after having a horrible experience over at Damage Control and the staff were so friendly and helpful. It was just what I needed to lift my spirit!

No-frills burger & fry place that gets it right every time. The menu is very focused, essentially your choices are: - burger (single or double patty) with or without bacon & cheese - hot dog (Jewdog, the best kind), with or without cheese - fries (done in peanut oil) with or without Cajun seasoning. Oh, there are a few other random items like grilled cheese, but let's face it... the meat and potatoes are the stars of the show. There are about fifteen toppings to add to your order at no additional charge. I've never really felt the need to add more than two or three... the chances of wanting to visit the Roman vomitorium afterward are pretty good without adding extra toppings. Unless you want a half gallon sized serving of fries, order the regular size (which would fill a pint glass). They have a self-serve soda fountain with Mr. Pibb on tap. A large box of peanuts greets you at the door, along with plenty of signs warning anybody with a peanut allergy to STAY FAR AWAY and along with more signs to remind anybody who leaves where they just came from. (It's sad that they have to go to such lengths to protect themselves from frivolous lawsuits from people who think the world revolves around them.) At one point, I ate here on a weekly basis. Not a good idea. But I'd certainly encourage anyone who normally frequents the usual fast food suspects to come here, pay the extra dollar or two, and not eat previously frozen chemical-stuffed garbage. Considering the freshness, quality and portion size, this place is actually a BARGAIN. Five Guys deserves all five stars.

Seems like management listened to some previous reviews about a young and 'distracted' staff. My last visit saw my order taken by a curteous and attentive manager and the same man came around to ask how the food was and also was very upbeat and positive in providing direction to those working the grill and at the front of the house. A+ job, Five Guys!

Greasy food. Bad service. And neither their burgers or their fries are as good as at least half the places around. Skip it.

Best pure burger joint in the Scranton area. And Stroudsburg. And Allentown/Bethlehem. And York...Lancaster...are you seeing the trend? Wonderfully large burgers, plain and simple. Add whatever you want to top your burger, don't forget to get an order of fries--they are great too. Grab some peanuts, sit at a table, and wait for a brown paper bag full of splendor. They are superb, but be warned; a regular burger is a double quarter-pounder. I'm a pretty big dude, and I have a hard time getting through a large fry...do the math. If you walk in there and order two regular burgers and a large fry (not a totally crazy thing to do at McD's) be prepared to be wheeled out of the restaurant as your knees buckle under the weight of the food you have eaten. Not the kind of meal you can (or should) eat every day, but certainly worth treating yourself every once in a while.
