Had a late evening dinner while in town. I had the Cajun crab pasta, while the wife had rigatoni with meat sauce. Food was excellent as was the service from our server Scott. Salad was fresh, but could have benefited from onions and cucumbers! We will definitely keep this restaurant on the shortlist .

Friendly staff. Menu changes frequently, but can really be hit or miss even on a nightly basis. Their salads consist of white iceberg and you are lucky if their is a hint of green. Beer selection is generally weak featuring macro, but occasionally they will feature regional craft breweries for a tap takeover.

By far the best restaurant in Sayre. Large menu and I ate there everyday on my trip. The wait staff was very attentive too. Try the tinka tacos.

I love this place, although the name implies that it's just Italian. They have terrific wings and other casual food. The ambience is great, the old brick building looks like it was once a train station. My food came quickly, about 15 minutes after I ordered it, although I got there shortly before 9, after the crowd had thinned. It's amazing to find a place this nice in such a small town.

Best Restaurant in Sayre! Great menu, food, service and ambience. I've had the wings, ahi tuna salad, tacos, bruschetta salad with salmon, bread and the shrimp corn chowder and they've all been exceptional. I travel a lot and eat out a lot and can't think of another restaurant I've been to that can top this one for the value.

We had to wait a while for the check. Also told waitress three times about 10% offered on my phone from yelp. After leaving realized it wasn't on my bill. Food was ok, nothing special.

Was in town stopping on the way to Canada. Came here with the family and honestly this is a sad excuse for original Italian grille. First the bread was amazing.. But that's only bread.. All 8 of us got salad and the waitress tells us there was no more tomatos .. Brings the salads out and it's just lettuce.. Had the shrimp scampi, the sauce was strangely sweet and so watery. 3 of us had cioppino with had some cold spots, the marinara sauce was horrible.. The only smart choice was the cranberry salad which wasn't the best. Beer was flat as all hell. The only appealing thing is the ambiance, the "restaurant" is an old train station kind of cool. Good thing this place was cheap.. I would advise you, if you are from queens and an Italian family.. Do not come here

I generously give this 'grille' 2 stars. The service was friendly and the decor of this renovated train station is very pleasant and clean. The food I had today however was overpriced and over cooked. The small portion of over cooked, dry chicken was barely visible on the enormous bun. The fries were over cooked as well. I drive by this place all of the time and only summon up the courage to stop after the bad memories of over priced, poorly prepared meals fades. Outside of their stromboli, there is no real reason to stop here again. With better places to eat in the area (Mangialardo, among them) it's hard to say if/win I would ever go back...

I love this place, and the menu is always changing. fresh bread and pizza every day. My favorite is the tuna salad or fish tacos.

They had a nice selection of appetizers and entrees. The breaded jalapeño bites were outstanding, as were the crab cakes. We had a large party of 20 people, and the service was quick and efficient. We will come here again.

We had some great wings, reasonably priced drinks, and a pretty nice "trio" dish, consisting of sirloin, chicken, and shrimp scampi. The people who served us were nice and efficient. Very good value, clean establishment with pleasing atmosphere, with the only down-side being that like SO many other places in this town they feel the need to pack-em-in with noisy entertainment on weekends.

Without a doubt the worst meal I have had in a long long time. About 1/3 of the lettuce in my Caesar salad was rotten, bottled dressing and store bought croutons. French onion soup straight out of the can three pieces of non toasted bread topped with enough mozzarella to make two pizzas. The worst was the jambalaya they took Orr cooked rice threw in onions peppers sausage shrimp smothered it in olive oil and warmed through. I have never eaten oil coated rice before, it's bad. Waitress was attentive but you could tell she was embarrassed t serve this garbage.

I've always liked this place. I've eaten here numerous times over the years and have mostly positive experiences. The few let downs I have had with them have been minor issues that have never cropped up again. The food is good and not too expensive. The servings are pretty big and a pasta dinner should last you for at least two meals unless you are a really big eater. Today I just stopped in for a quick lunch and got a pulled pork sandwich with cheese and some fries. The service was quick and the food was good. The bun was nice and soft but not soggy as I've had happen sometimes with pulled pork. It was flavorful and filling. The fries were nice and crisp. It has a clean and nice atmosphere and a decent selection at the bar as well. The place can be a bit busy at times and service can be a touch slow if the place is packed. It's definitely worth a look if you're looking for a decent place for lunch or dinner in the Valley.

Good food and varied menu. Nice beer selection on tap. Pretty busy on a Monday night so locals must like this place ..... a good sign. Enjoyed the Texas burger and jalapeño buttons. Will return.

Very very disappointed in this restaurant's lack of customer service. My family loves the food but the wait staff really needs to get it together. Went there Monday for there endless wings. 1. We got our drink orders in no problem, after we got our drink it took the waitress well over 15 minutes to come get our food order. 2. I was going to get the unlimited wings, she then told me they don't start till 4pm, it was 3:15 even though the signs on the table say they are all day. Very very disappointed in the fact that it is basically false advertising. We will not be returning anytime soon if at all.

the Original Italian Grille is set in a cool historic old train depot, that alone was worth the trip. It offers a sizable menu selection, good seating, and welcoming service. Ordering both the calamari and special wings I found them both (wings and squids) to be acceptable in quality (not great just good). the wings maybe disappointed me with a chance to really have some flavor and they were just kinda bland. My main course was the Delmonico, it was cooked fine (normally I get chiefs preference but they didn't know what that meant) . The cut and quality of the meat were not poor but not great either. Overall this was a so-so dining experience topped off with a terrible cup of espresso.

I came here with my brother and some old friends from high school while I was visiting for the holidays. We came for lunch, and I had about three beers and an awesome cheesy buffalo chicken sandwich on a nice, crusty roll. The server was on top of taking care of us, and the restaurant was spacious and had a nice atmosphere. I'll probably stop in again next time I visit my family.

Stopped at OIG for dinner with parents & grandparents on our way to Tioga Downs. The restaurant was very nice place I enjoyed sitting in there. I had the Surf n Turf sandwich (steak burger with crab cake) which was really delicious - one of the best I've had. I will be coming back for that sandwich. I was impressed with this restaurant but the only issue was swatting away the flies.

Poor service. Food nothing special. In an old train station. Neat architecture. Sadly food and service doesn't match.

Original Italian Grille is an upscale, for the area, Italian family restaurant. I've eaten here on a few different occasions and I must say that the service, much like the food, isn't remarkable. The bread is good, and the appetizer selection is decent, if not for being standard deep fryer fare. I cannot recommend eating here, though my fellow diners have mostly enjoyed their meals. On my recent trip, the salmon was not good, a tired, old piece of fish that was overcooked and smelled bad, the vegetables lacked seasoning, and the wild rice was mush. Overall it's not bad if you want to eat simple - wraps, subs, salads, but I wouldn't suggest anything fancy.

Okay, this place is interesting that it's in an old train depot which gives it a nice atmosphere. But that's were it all stops other than the beer was cold. Honestly, my 18 year old daughter makes a much better chicken parm than these guys! The chicken was tough, chewy, over cooked (almost to the burnt side) no flavor, a slice of cheese thrown on top with overcooked pasta and poor jar sauce as a side. The Italian bread served with the salad (again nothing to write home about) was at least warm and good. Did I mention at least the beer was cold? My traveling business partner was also disappointed with his meal and felt bad selecting this restaurant. The restaurant also had a fly issue since we spent huge efforts chasing flies away from our food. They need basic pest management services! If there is ever another time that I'm in Sayre, I'll make a point to eat in Waverly at the Railhouse and skip this place.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
