We stopped here on our holiday visit home after hearing that they had rebuilt the building after their fire damage. When we lived in the valley, Howie's was one of the main places we would get pizza from, so we figured we'd give it a go. --Food: We ordered a couple slices each. I got a pepperoni slice and a chicken speedie slice and my fiancee had two garlic. The pizza is pretty much what I remember it back in the day, and that's not a bad thing. The cheese and sauce are in good proportions and taste good, and it isn't overly greasy. Occasionally slices can be a bit dry, probably from being in the display case a while at off-hours, but such is the fate of any pizza by the slice place. While we didn't have time to try more of the menu since it has been rebuilt, we did used to order sheet pizzas and wings, which were always good. I may have had a sub once, but I don't recall. Upon looking at their new menu, it appears that they have fruit dessert pizza, an all day pizza buffet, and other specialty pizzas that I don't recall them having in the past. (All of which sound delicious!) Perhaps next holiday break home I'll have to try their Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza or Blueberry Dessert pizza. --Cost: Prices are very fair. About $2 a slice, $17 a sheet pizza, $12 a large, and about $8 for a large sub. They have a menu on their site with prices. --Atmosphere: The interior of Howie's was renovated / rebuilt due to previous fire damage, and it looks pretty nice! There is plenty of space and it feels more wide open now. The parking lot is easily accessible from the road and has a fair amount of spots. The tables were clean but the floor was a little bit sticky, but I'm sure it was from a spill or something earlier that will be cleaned overnight. --Service: Staff always seems pleasant. I personally know one of the staff from high school and he made some small talk when we ordered. --Overall: It's not my favorite pizza ever, but it's almost always a solid place to get a slice or a whole pizza. For the immediate area of the Valley, it's one of my favorite pizza places. I'd love to try the dessert pizzas and pizza buffets are a guilty pleasure of mine, so I'd be curious to try them. So if you're in the Valley and looking for a new pizza place to try out, Howie's has my recommendation!
