To me, a burrito ain't really Mexican food, but hey "I eat anything that doesn't eat me first". This chain is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is pretty darn good! To avoid the burritos, I usually get the fish tacos. Even though the taco shell is real thick (weird) the fish is really good. For burritos, I like the Carolina bbq pork burrito (not a regular menu item) and the Thai chicken burrito. They have a huge selection of hot sauce, too.

My absolute favorite place to eat in the area. I'm there at least once a week for lunch. Their chips and queso are second to none and the blackened chicken is awesome. They help the local schools by allowing them to offer specials on fund raiser cards and that works for me because it enables me to get a regular burrito, chips and queso, and a drink for about $7. Can't beat that!

For a chain Mexican restaurant this is the best I've had. The "Special-dilla" is awesome. I think the service and atmosphere is cute. It's better than the surly kids that work at other fast food places. And like others have said, that soda machine is too cool. I didn't know they had 6 different Fanta Zeros!

The fish tacos are really good, I love this place. It's also really reasonable price-wise. Also what's the deal with the 30 pound chain attached to the pen.. I guess its funny but when I asked the employees about it they became really serious??

If you are looking for a traditional Mexican food, then you may not enjoy this place. If you enjoy foods that are a southwest fusion or a Mexican fusion, then you will probably enjoy this place. First of all I want to say I never witnessed anyone dropping food on the floor and serving it, and if that happened I am sure they would have been closed by now. I am not here to argue with the other yelp reviews; instead I am here to tell you why this place is 5 stars in my book. It is truly a love it or hate it place, not too many people are in between. The atmosphere is very fun and "spunky" if you have an introverted personality you may feel uncomfortable with how outgoing everyone is here. When you get to this place, pick up a copy of "Taco Talk located in the lobby or at the register. The newsletter is informative and hilarious at the same time, the woman that writes it is into self-deprecating humor which is one of my favorite types. Plus this gives you something to read while you wait for your food. The selection of the food is as enormous as my waistline. The selection of meat is mesquite chicken, blackened chicken, fish, blackened fish, steak, and I am sure I am missing something. The thing I like about this place over Chipotle or Moe's is that the variety of burritos they have to choose from. They have various concoctions you would never imagine in a burrito. Such as a blackened chicken caesar, buffalo wing (these are two of my fav's) as well as one of their flagship burritos "California Screamin." That burrito is named after their own hot sauce. Speaking of hot sauce, holy crap! They have an entire wall of hot sauces rated from 1 - 10 on a scale for heat. Find a sauce that you really like, you can buy it there for about $5. This is a neat additive that more restaurants should adopt. As far as sides you can get with your meals is a salsa, queso, or guacamole. In my opinion you would make a huge mistake if you do not try this place for yourself. When you do try it, if you like it ask the cashier if you can join the Burrito Elito club. This is free to you, and accumulates points for you to earn free food. They also credit you with free burritos from time to time (birthdays, when the miss you, etc.). If I didn't convince you yet, you are hopeless!

A hot sauce lovers paradise. So many to choose from. The soda machines are pretty cool. I had the fish tacos and they were okay, but the star of the show was definitely the queso. Go for the queso.

I tried the fish tacos tonight. Awesome! Probably one of the best I've ever had.

We eat here so much I really think we need a parking space. No need for yammering on and on about how awesome the food is. Instead, I'll just share what you can expect when you eat here- 1. 80's music and employees who sing along (Ok, and if my husband and I are there, we'll sing along too.) 2. Spunky, friendly employees (like, I'm talking caffeine high) 3. Vegan options 4. Always clean tables 5. I said I wouldn't yammer on about the food- but seriously, it's really good. Burritos are big, the queso is a really nice blend- not too spicy, chips are fresh (sometimes a little too salty though, I'm not gonna lie), taco salads are really fresh and filling, and so on. 6. WALL OF HOT SAUCE with pretty amusing names- MegaSoreAss (with dinosaur graphic), Widow Maker, etc. Also, subscribe to their newsletter. it pretty funny AND, they often give you a secret password to give when you eat there. This secret password usually gives you free chips or a taco or something and makes you feel like a total goofball for using it. But it's cool.

When I need a quick fix for Mexican food, I will often stop in here and grab a burrito. It's a spunky, bit of a loud place. If you are new to the place, the cashier will ring a bell and announce it to the whole restaurant. The main menu item is burritos and they have quite a few varieties of them. If you want to save a few calories you can get a burrito bowl and eliminate the tortilla. They also have salads, quesadilla's, and tacos. My wife likes their salad, but I tend to stick with the burritos. For sides, you can get queso, salsa, or guacamole. None of the sides are that great in my opinion. If you like hot sauce, they have a wall full of sauces to choose from ranging from mild to "mouth on fire". My kids love the Coca-cola drink machine which allows you to mix your own drink from a variety of sodas and flavors. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but this place tends to get pretty busy. They do offer kids meals, which includes a little coloring book and a brownie for desert. If you are looking for a quick Mexican meal, this is not a bad place to check out and it's certainly better than Taco Bell.

Consistently good burritos, nachos, guacamole, tacos and more. If there was a Chipotle Mexican Grill somewhere around here, I would go there. Since there is not, Cal Tort is a decent replacement. Also, the staff is usually very courteous and friendly. The Burrito Elito card is also awesome. In the year or so that I have been going here, I have gotten a free burrito and $5 off my bill at least 2 or 3 times. It is definitely worth signing up for that. A few negatives. The wall of hot sauce is a bit ridiculous since it blocks the utensil area. It's more annoying than interesting, since most of the time you have to wait to get napkins or eating utensils while some idiot studies the sauce options available paying no attention to those waiting. Also, and I find this to be a negative (but parents with out of control kids may love it), it has a bit of a "Chucky Cheese atmosphere." There is usually no lack of unsupervised children running around, either to the bathroom or drink machine with little regard for people they may crash into, etc.

This is a fun, friendly tacolicious place. Everything is good to eat - I love their guac and pico - very tasty. Has a bunch of hot sauces you can try and buy. Fun soda machine too. If you're not a mexican food snob (you know who you are...) you will like this place. So, don't go to McD's or Booger King - have a yummy burrito or fish taco instead!!
(5)
Michael A.
Very consistent food- pretty decent service. I go here frequently. They have a pretty good rewards program. I like the music they play. Just wish there was a surface that absorbed sound. If it's busy, it's difficult to concentrate on a conversation.

It takes a special type of restaurant for me to give it only 1 star. I ordered the steak burrito which seemed simple enough until I took a bite. It would have been amazing if I would have ordered the extra dry, tougher than 3 month old beef jerky burrito but I didn't. It's like the meat was sitting in the sun for a day and a half and then at 12:30 during the lunch hour they decided to put it on my burrito. This could possibly be the reason they need a wall of hot sauces. That way if you put enough "habanero whatever" on your food, you won't notice the godforsaken texture. Next time I will spend the extra 10 minutes and drive to Collegeville and just go to Qdoba or worstcase scenerio I go to Taco Bell and get one of those tacos made of Doritoes. Their horsemeat has to be better than what I just experienced. God help my O ring and my toilet bowl when this lunch passes through me (which I'm guessing won't take long). PS. Take the 79 cents a year that you save on Bic pens with that STUPID 10lb chain and reinvest it in the quality of the roadkill you call steak.

Awful! Just plain awful.
(1)
Kevin H.
Huge burritos at decent prices. They have a pretty good variety as well. This place puts the other chain burrito places like Qdoba and Chipotle to shame. I almost forgot to mention their Wall of Flame which probably has 50+ hot sauces for more adventurous people to use to add to their meal. Lastly the huge variety of soda flavors blows my mind.
(5)
James Y.
Love this place. Food and portion size is very good. Love the wall of sauces and the fancy soda machines that have so many flavors to choose from. Blows away Qdoba in terms of menu selection. I haven't been to a Chiplotle in awhile, but I don't remember them having much variety either.
(5)
Bryan K.
Good food, friendly staff. Honestly my only complaints are really that every once in awhile it will take a bit too long to cook up a steak burrito, and the queso has been pretty sucky for awhile now. It used to be AMAZING, and lately it just honestly tastes like crap. Steak Classic Burrito or a Southwestern Chicken Salad with BLACKENED chicken....good stuff.
(4)
Percy N.
The southwestern salad with grilled chicken is pretty good as is their guac. My favorite used to be the Thai chicken burrito with peanut satay sauce, but they discontinued it :-( Was excited to see the Korean Tacos, but unfortunately they were overly salty.
(4)
Zachary F.
It's clean and ok for franchise Mexican. Better than taco bell but also more pricey. They have pretty cool drink machines, they're pretty serious about keeping their pens (you sign CC slips with), and the wall of spice is a nice touch when you want to sample a ton of hot sauces. Place is always full at lunch and dinner. By comparison, the Quiznos 2 doors down always seems empty. It lacks authentic mexican ingredients, like the steak is actually better quality meat than what mexican should have but jarring to have in a mexican dish. Fairly decent for standard Americanized fair.
(3)
Jim C.
Some of the burritos are great, some aren't my style. But, I have my favorites and I can't get enough of them. I still haven't made it through all the hot sauces. One of my favorites is actually the huge bottle of "California Screamin'" that is on every table. The atmosphere is great. It's nice to eat in a place where the staff actually seems to be happy. The soundtrack of 80's music is quite entertaining.

Service is fun and friendly. The self serve soda machine is awesome. It's got a digital screen to select your drink. They have orange Coke as one option. Wild! Food is well prepared and good. Always a pleasure visiting here.

LOVE LOVE LOVE ths place! Their food is delicious- I always get the havana chicken in a bowl and chips and queso. They have a new touch screen soda machine that's pretty bad ass. Perfect place to go for lunch- gets very busy so try to go before 12! Highly recommended!
(4)
Paul D.
Love the different options! So much to choose from so it keeps you coming back, not to mention the Burrito Elito card. Definitely better than Baja Fresh. Would give it 5 stars except the queso had a weird taste (and I LOVE chips and queso!). Maybe it's just my taste buds...

California Tortilla is one of those places that I wish I could make it to more often. If you go you have to be adventurous and try one of their massive burritos, I'm still making my way through them all. The corn chips you get with the combo meal are amazing, both the salsa and queso are good. On of my favorite things is the wall of hot sauce, nothing like putting a little 'Rectum Ripper' on your burrito. Be careful with some of these, they are insanely hot. The only problem with this California Tortilla is the seating is normally very full around lunch/dinner rush. So get there early, or late. If you have a California Tortilla in your area go check it out, highly recommended.

Another notch in the belt of ethnic food gentrification..... which in and of itself wouldn't bother me if the food actually tasted good. I agree that you can't beat some good fish tacos. Too bad the examples here at California Tortilla are rather anonymous at best. The pulled pork BBQ burrito was interesting as in "it's interesting that a burrito joint would make an attempt at pork bbq." Feeble. The chicken burritos (which is 95% of what they sell here) are passable purely on the basis of sustenance. I actually didn't abhor the Caribbean Jerk burrito. But in general the food can't hold a candle to the stalwart of fast food burritos, Chipotle. The coolest part of California Tortilla is the wall of hot sauces. Which is entirely necessary because most of the burritos are utterly bland. Open your mouth and take a deep breath to fill your mouth with air. Swallow. Congratulations, you've just experienced consuming a burrito from California Tortilla. You can thank me later for saving you $7.

Having lived in the bay area, where you can get great authentic Mexican food at some hole in the wall taqueria, this is pretty standard Baja Fresh sub par type "Mexican" food. It's ok for a quick burrito fix, but really nothing more than that. It's usually always busy, seeing that this is Royersford and all, and the selection in this area for fast food is severely limited. Their chips and guac are pretty decent. Their queso is basically melted velveeta with a tomato or two shoved in for good measure. It's great if you're in need of some processed cheese comfort, but that's where it pretty much ends. Overall, this will fill the hole if you're looking for something other than a fast food burger joint.

Love California Tortilla! The place has a really cool vibe about it. The food has always tasted super fresh and is full of flavor. Orders don't take too long to get made either. They have a love for 80's music constantly playing over the speakers and I'm really into that. The chips and salsa combo is always a great add-on to any meal. One of the downsides is that there is rarely adequate seating in that place (because it seems to be a hoppin' place). A large party is going to have a hard time finding a place to sit and even empty tables don't get cleaned off quick enough. This means that many tables we've sat down at still have the stray remnants of the last folks meal on the table. We eat here fairly often, we have the burrito bucks and have so far saved $15 using that card! I should mention that one time when I was eating a chicken taco, I got a horrible surprise...an inch long chicken bone! Nearly broke my tooth, but I've had many chicken taco's there so I guess the odds are that would happen eventually. Overall, I love the place, highly recommended, great for families, very good and friendly staff, please support them! UPDATE 6/5/11: Something has happened to this place...it's like they are phoning it in now. I have to drop it down to 3 stars in light of my overall better experiences at other places like Qdoba and Chipotle. Cal-Tort needs a refresh.

It wasn't the worst impression of Americanized Mexican I've had, but it is close. The burritos were barely above average, taco salad tasted like Purina's finest mixed with soap. It has a campy atmosphere, which is cute, but I'm not sure this place can be salvaged.

This is a great place to go for really tasty, California-type chain burritos + chips and guac. Being a transplant from CA, I know when it is something that resembles the guilty pleasures from the land of the plastic. Their food is yum with the added appeal of being atypical in the recipe department. Chips and guac are the normal, good fare. What I love best, though, is the wall of hot sauces they have available. Nowhere else (save for New Hope and a few other remote locations) can you get such a variety of hot sauces that will leave you crying in the bathroom the next morning. As for the four stars, I just could not give anything that is a chain more than four stars. Consider it a five star equivalent for a chain restaurant.

This establishment is awful. I've witnessed the cooks drop food and still serve it. Very overpriced. The obnoxious inter decor will give you an instant migrane. Seriously beware of the food there. I worked there two months, and I've SEEN IT ALL. Absolutely disgusting handling procedures.

As long as you go in knowing it's not Mexican food, you'll enjoy it. They have some very interesting flavor/food combinations going on. My favorite is the blackened chicken burrito. Very tasty, decent portions for the price and good quality. I've ordered the fajitas before and had to send them back, as the quality of meat was abysmal. They are good about giving you extra sides of salsa/sour cream, as needed, and don't charge you extra- which is great, as many place do charge more. The only other thing I'm not a fan of is the large number of little kids there. The parents seem to think since it is a family place, that their kids can run around, scream, jump on the chairs, etc. which is a real annoyance and pain to someone trying to eat. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, which is a a plus.
(3)
Dan B.
The fish tacos were good (not as good as On the Border's) but good nonetheless. The burritos are not on Qdoba's level but they aren't bad (the Havana chicken burrito is a favorite). The "spunky" service is a little annoying but that's their schtick.
(3)
Chris V.
Great food, great atmosphere and great employees. That about sums up things over at California Tortilla. My fav is the Honey Lime burrito with chips and queso. Yum a dum dum. Compliment that with one of the many (and sometimes Insane) hot sauces and you got yourself a party for your palette. Prices are reasonable and who doesn't like a little A-ha or Culture Club while they're getting their grub on.
(4)
Dan B.
Great food for a chain restaurant. Can't beat a good chicken lime tortilla or some fish tacos. Would recommend adding the chips and salsa as it'll leave you stuffed along with whatever entree you order.
(4)
J. J.
3 stars is generous and only given for their awesome fish tacos and the Gator Hammock hot sauce they have. Everything else about the place is really annoying. For example, if you pay with a credit card they will ask you to sign the merchant copy with a .3 ounce pen attached to a 10 pound chain... Goofy and fun, right? Wrong. It'll ATS out of you. So, bring cash.
(3)
David C.
Not traditional, but fast, unique and fairly healthy. Super cool staff. I would however, strongly recommend calling in your order ahead of time if you're doing "to go". The wait can be lengthy at times.

YUM - love this place! The portions are huge and the prices are great. Staff are very friendly but not overly friendly. I love the huge selection of hot sauces that you can freely choose and take to your table.

So glad we moved in near this place! It was the first place I ate when we bought our house here, and we go there regularly still. Great selection, healthy food, and great flavor profiles. The prices are very reasonable for what it is, and their soda machine is just fun to use! I love their kids meals. 4 or 5 bucks for a nice large meal with a drink that is much healthier than most places we go.
(4)
Jen K.
Great experience there I the food department! The staff is wonderful. They're very knowledgable and helpful. It was the best fast food experience that I have had in a very long time. It is not everyday that you get treated so wonderfully!!!!

Tina B.
Love this place, the food is great, it close to traditional Mexican food for a fast food restaurant. They have awesome rewards card, they have hundreds of hot sauces. They are always busy and quick for being as busy as they are. The prices are kind of pricey for a fast food, but you get your money's worth every time. The soda machine is just awesome, I'm glad there popping up more and more. Great place to go.

Stepson loves it. Its OK. Not real-deal Tex-Mex. Guac is ehh. Lots of kids. Busy for convenience, I guess. Recommend the bowls... burrito, not toilet Decent healthy value.

Ok I admit, 5 stars is a bit much for a chain Cal-Mex joint. But I really enjoy their food, the quickness of their service and the comfort-food feel. It is a bit loud and there are always lots and lots of children running around, but the variety of hot sauces makes it all worthwhile. There are 3 shelves with about 20 varieties on each shelf. I put a few dabs into my eyes and the children tend to disappear. If it only had the same effect on my ears... I usually get the hard shell steak tacos with beans and rice, and a side of chips and salsa with a large lime-up iced tea. Delicious.
(5)
Denise D.
Great food, Great customer service, and you get your food quickly.
(5)
Lindsay N.
Cal Tort has the best selection of hot sauces! Also love the chips and cheese. But make sure you eat it fast while its hot!
(5)

The food isn't bad, just ok. The issues with this place lie in the cost, and the wait after you place your order. If the food was exceptional, it would be worth it...but it's not.

Lisa M.
We come here about 3-4 times a month. I am admittedly a Burrito Elito. It's fast, tastes good and it's on the way home. Makes for a regular crowd pleaser in my house when I am working too late to cook. Prefer the food here to Qdoba and Moes. Same price point, but I like the menu better. My kids love the cheeseburger tacos, my husband gets the carnitas verde burrito EVERY time. I switch it up and do like most of the options on the menu. As a side note they sell their own sauce, which I love. I have some in my cupboard at all times. Takes a classic egg and cheddar sandwich to the next level.
(4)
Ashley R.
Boyfriend and I come here pretty much weekly. Food is consistent and for the price point, delicious! Usually about $20 for our meal, and their rewards program is great. For every $50 you spend, you get $5 off your order, and they give you a free burrito for your birthday. Atmosphere is fun but the place is always packed! We've never had an issue getting a table though, but it can be loud sometimes during peak times. Definitely a place worth checking out!
(5)
Heidi T.
I really like this place. It's casual with counter ordering and a good menu. I like the fish tacos, burrito bowls and quesadillas. They have plenty of choices and are kid friendly. If you like things got, they have a wall of hot sauces. They services is always pleasant and they work hard to keep the place clean. It is eat in or take out and worth a shot for all types vegetarians, healthy eaters and not so healthy eaters.

Bomb food. I love this place. The burritos are huge and the guacamole is really good.

This place is a bit out of the way for us but happened to stop in while we were driving by one day. Before we went in, we were definitely SKEPTICAL and didn't have any high hopes. But, much to our surprise, the food was actually very good. All the ingredients were fresh. Previous reviewers have made some comparisons and I'd agree: this is far far superior to something like Moe's. But, perhaps not has high as Chipotle; maybe because it has become a cultural phenom more than anything else now a these days. Anyway, the sauces here are what would make one come back over and over and over again. I'd say 4 star vs the 5 because of the way each dish was prepared. I guess, this is where chipotle has mastered the art: let the customer select what and how much they want in their food for their own taste. As I was sneaking a peek on the staff preparing my dish, I was not too pleased on how careless they were, trying to focus more on the FAST part of the fast food establishment. I'd definitely recommend this place and if in the area again, would most probably stop by.

This is an AMAZING Store! The staff is always friendly and I have NEVER had a problem! I go there maybe once a week (sometimes twice) to get my staff lunch and they rave about the Carribean Mango Salads! Don't get me started about the new bowls (they hate them) lol but the food is always fresh and awesome! There is one staff member that stands out. One of the ladies up front taking orders! I can't remember her name but she always has a smile on her face as well as knowing what name to look up for my burrito card! BEST CARD EVER! LOL, She is awesome and always makes for a great experience!

Best than Moe's for sure, really fresh food and nice service. Affordable, good prices...

We were excited to try California Tortilla as it received great reviews on Yelp. We are new to the area so we gave it a whirl. Unfortunately we will not be back, ever. The ingredients did not seem fresh. My tomatoes were mushy, and you can tell the chicken is processed and most likely cooked in the microwave. I had a fajita burrito that I did not eat. This does not compare to other like eateries I have been to. For quick Mexican bites, we will be sticking to Chipotle - where you can see your burrito being made, and can smell the grilled products being cooked in front of you.

Great Customer Service as well as great food! I have never had any problems with my orders and never a long wait.

Super customer service, my wife got a sauce in her burrito bowl (by choice) that turned out to be a bad flavor combo for a burrito, and when an associate overheard asked if she would like a new one and just like that my wife had a much more palatable burrito bowl. They didn't need to do that but it is awesome customer service and impressed us greatly.
(4)
Aurora C.
These burritos beat all from any food including chipotles. Best part is the wall of 5 million hot sauces to choose from just do it you know you want to
My first impression is not a good one. I ordered the bowl and barely had six bite size pieces of beef. They like to hide their bowl with lots and lots of lettuce. I might try them again.

Food is good. Pretty good prices. Kids love mixing there own sodas!

Whenever I'm in the mood for a fast food burrito, that isn't taco bell, I come here. It's kind of annoying that the only Philadelphia location is in the North East because it is a hike to come here. Even though Chipotle is good, I think this place is easily better. I love that the combos can be either chips and salsa or queso. I don't know what their queso is made of, but it is seriously the best! They have a wall of different hot sauces to choose from, which is hilarious to look at when you are waiting for your food. If you are really serious about coming here, sign up for the burrito elito card and depending on how much you spend you get points towards free things.

It is a counter joint. After trying a few things, I like the chicken quesadilla the best. Nice service. Good spot to grab a quick bite.

Ordered the Korea BBQ Tortilla and it's tasty. Impressed by the variety of hot sauces. There's one called "Endorphin Rush" which is super super spicy! Be careful if you decide to try that.

When I'm looking to have a freshly made meal in a short amount of time I can never go wrong here! California Tortilla offers a fresh variety to please all palettes. Instead of indulging in a burrito that I absolutely love and often crave, I went with a salad that had Cajun chicken, fresh mango, avocado, and lots more veggies and tortilla strips. It was delicious and is large enough to serve 2 people. Don't forget about their wall of hot sauces!! Yumm!

Food is ok - borderline bland. I'm vegetarian so I got the fresh veggie burrito bowl. Maybe the meat proteins is what makes their food tastier.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(5)Davis L.
A hot sauce lovers paradise. So many to choose from. The soda machines are pretty cool. I had the fish tacos and they were okay, but the star of the show was definitely the queso. Go for the queso.
(4)Glenn J.
I tried the fish tacos tonight. Awesome! Probably one of the best I've ever had.
(4)Jamee W.
(5)Greg L.
(3)Don B.
(4)Clarisse B.
(5)Michael A.
Very consistent food- pretty decent service. I go here frequently. They have a pretty good rewards program. I like the music they play. Just wish there was a surface that absorbed sound. If it's busy, it's difficult to concentrate on a conversation.
(4)TJ D.
(1)Chris S.
Awful! Just plain awful.
(1)Kevin H.
(5)James Y.
Love this place. Food and portion size is very good. Love the wall of sauces and the fancy soda machines that have so many flavors to choose from. Blows away Qdoba in terms of menu selection. I haven't been to a Chiplotle in awhile, but I don't remember them having much variety either.
(5)Bryan K.
(4)Percy N.
The southwestern salad with grilled chicken is pretty good as is their guac. My favorite used to be the Thai chicken burrito with peanut satay sauce, but they discontinued it :-( Was excited to see the Korean Tacos, but unfortunately they were overly salty.
(4)Zachary F.
(3)Jim C.
(5)Johnny F.
Service is fun and friendly. The self serve soda machine is awesome. It's got a digital screen to select your drink. They have orange Coke as one option. Wild! Food is well prepared and good. Always a pleasure visiting here.
(5)Gina H.
LOVE LOVE LOVE ths place! Their food is delicious- I always get the havana chicken in a bowl and chips and queso. They have a new touch screen soda machine that's pretty bad ass. Perfect place to go for lunch- gets very busy so try to go before 12! Highly recommended!
(4)Paul D.
Love the different options! So much to choose from so it keeps you coming back, not to mention the Burrito Elito card. Definitely better than Baja Fresh. Would give it 5 stars except the queso had a weird taste (and I LOVE chips and queso!). Maybe it's just my taste buds...
(4)Mike H.
(4)Pooh B.
(2)Statia M.
(3)Chris E.
(3)Kyle G.
It wasn't the worst impression of Americanized Mexican I've had, but it is close. The burritos were barely above average, taco salad tasted like Purina's finest mixed with soap. It has a campy atmosphere, which is cute, but I'm not sure this place can be salvaged.
(2)D M.
(4)Jessica A.
(1)AROD Z.
(3)Dan B.
The fish tacos were good (not as good as On the Border's) but good nonetheless. The burritos are not on Qdoba's level but they aren't bad (the Havana chicken burrito is a favorite). The "spunky" service is a little annoying but that's their schtick.
(3)Chris V.
(4)Dan B.
Great food for a chain restaurant. Can't beat a good chicken lime tortilla or some fish tacos. Would recommend adding the chips and salsa as it'll leave you stuffed along with whatever entree you order.
(3)David C.
Not traditional, but fast, unique and fairly healthy. Super cool staff. I would however, strongly recommend calling in your order ahead of time if you're doing "to go". The wait can be lengthy at times.
(5)Laura F.
YUM - love this place! The portions are huge and the prices are great. Staff are very friendly but not overly friendly. I love the huge selection of hot sauces that you can freely choose and take to your table.
(4)Tara Marie S.
(4)Jen K.
Great experience there I the food department! The staff is wonderful. They're very knowledgable and helpful. It was the best fast food experience that I have had in a very long time. It is not everyday that you get treated so wonderfully!!!!
(5)Tina B.
(4)Johny G.
Stepson loves it. Its OK. Not real-deal Tex-Mex. Guac is ehh. Lots of kids. Busy for convenience, I guess. Recommend the bowls... burrito, not toilet Decent healthy value.
(4)Max S.
Delicious.
(5)Denise D.
Great food, Great customer service, and you get your food quickly.
(5)Lindsay N.
Cal Tort has the best selection of hot sauces! Also love the chips and cheese. But make sure you eat it fast while its hot!
(5)Dave B.
The food isn't bad, just ok. The issues with this place lie in the cost, and the wait after you place your order. If the food was exceptional, it would be worth it...but it's not.
(3)Lisa M.
(4)Ashley R.
(5)Heidi T.
(4)Ryan L.
Bomb food. I love this place. The burritos are huge and the guacamole is really good.
(5)Kunal P.
(4)Brittany B.
(5)Eduardo C.
Best than Moe's for sure, really fresh food and nice service. Affordable, good prices...
(5)Donna I.
(1)Brittany T.
Great Customer Service as well as great food! I have never had any problems with my orders and never a long wait.
(5)Michael W.
(4)Aurora C.
These burritos beat all from any food including chipotles. Best part is the wall of 5 million hot sauces to choose from just do it you know you want to
(5)Luke S.
I like to review chains for a few reasons. It's mostly where I eat as standalone restaurants become a thing of the past. And also, isn't every chain trying to simultaneously live up to the name of its Maker and yet stand out? I've never been to another California Tortilla and I eat at this place quite a bit. First off, a word about the noise and the crowd. It's a smallish place, but the food attracts an inordinate number of customers. As if people haven't had Mexican food before. This is no fault of the restaurant's, but I've taken to exclusively getting takeout from here as it's horrendously loud. And yes, there are a ton of people there at all hours of the day and night. This is good, as they clearly enjoy it, but again, it necessitates calling ahead. The five minutes you are usually put on hold each time you call in are also due to so many customers. However, with all that out of the way, I have no complaints about the food. Everything I've ever ordered there has been excellent. When it was first opening they were always messing up orders and simply letting you keep whatever food you weren't supposed to get and then filling your original order. Win. I usually get the tortilla soup, which isn't spicy enough for me, but it seldom is wherever I order it. It's got a pleasing texture and taste. My entrée is always a large carnitas verde burrito with queso. Delicious. Nice, soft burrito, absolutely stuffed with fragrant pork, rice, and whatever else comes with it. It's never failed me. If you like a lot of crazy sodas to choose from Cal-Tort will satisfy you on that front, as well. I've been mixing all the flavors I possibly can until the five people behind me start to chuff. It's surprisingly good. A word about the service: after the opening day jitters were long over I stood for a long, long time waiting for my order and the teenagers behind the counter were milling about with nothing to do. Normally I wouldn't say anything unless it happened over and over, but I happened to catch an older employee outside emptying the trash. That woman put the fear of God into me. She looked me dead in the eye, shifted a massive bag of garbage to another shoulder, and said in a deadly voice she'd take care of it. Whatever horrid thing she did worked, because that never happened again.
(4)M D.
My first impression is not a good one. I ordered the bowl and barely had six bite size pieces of beef. They like to hide their bowl with lots and lots of lettuce. I might try them again.
(2)Mike M.
Food is good. Pretty good prices. Kids love mixing there own sodas!
(4)Michelle K.
(4)Jacki D.
It is a counter joint. After trying a few things, I like the chicken quesadilla the best. Nice service. Good spot to grab a quick bite.
(3)Christy W.
Ordered the Korea BBQ Tortilla and it's tasty. Impressed by the variety of hot sauces. There's one called "Endorphin Rush" which is super super spicy! Be careful if you decide to try that.
(5)Elaine M.
Yumm!
(5)Rosana A.
Food is ok - borderline bland. I'm vegetarian so I got the fresh veggie burrito bowl. Maybe the meat proteins is what makes their food tastier.
(2)
