This is a great local bar! I finally stopped in after driving by this place for months, very glad I did too. The staff was really friendly, and the beer was cold. Need to know anything else?

Best local bar around! The food is great and always freshly made. it's quiet and friendly, without having barfights or obnoxious people starting trouble.. All the staff is attentive and friendly. Drinks are made absolutely perfect and the bartenders know exactly what their doing. always a fun time, with karaoke every Saturday night. definitely need to check this place out. during the day, its a popular lunch spot for families

Local spot, always a good time with a mixed crowd. I'll never get used to all the smoke, since I'm a West Coast girl. But the drinks are FanTabUlous, and there's always entertainment, so what else do you really need?

A good local bar with bartenders who know what they're doing. This place can get pretty crowded on the weekends. Not the biggest beer selection compared to other bars, but still plenty to choose from. The food is very good also. I'm personally not a fan of the smoking atmosphere. Whenever I come out of here I always smell like an ashtray.

Could have been perfect for our party of four. Went to Breen's last nite ~7PM, hadn't been there in over a year. Seems to have been redecorated, extra neat looking "tin ceiling." The four of us appreciated the Smoking atmosphere. Waitress was polite. Bartender knew how to make an "Extra Dry Martini," a rare occurrence these days. Not a huge select, that's probably a good thing. Food was good, served hot. Wished we hadn't been rushed so we could have enjoyed it. Note: There was only one other table occupied while we were there. Sadly the standard is not to serve "ONE COURSE" at a time. It's called a "course" for a reason. One course is served, eaten, THEN REMOVED before the NEXT COURSE is served. Mid-way through our hot appetizers, the entree arrived. *****Question for the management: Were we supposed to continue eating our appetizers and let our hot entrees get cold on our tables OR were we supposed to stop eating our appetizers, letting them get cold while we started eating our entrees? It's not Rocket Science--ONE COURSE ON THE TABLE AT A TIME. We weren't looking for finger bowls, just STANDARD serving procedures. Exception to that STANDARD is getting food in a paper bag at McDonalds. Come on, you're better than that, you just have to show it.

I can't comment too much on here just that I met up with some friends and only went to karaoke here on Saturday night and it was a lot of fun! Their prices were really pretty good that night on drinks - half of what I think you could find at typical city bars on a Saturday night. Some of the people who sang were really good too by the way. Ill knock one star off because it they allowed patrons to smoke inside.

This is a nice hangout type of place. There's a shuffleboard table and TVs galore. Your best bet is to go on a Tuesday or Sunday night. You'll be greeted by the bartender Kevin who makes everyone feel welcome and has everyone laughing the whole time. They have all of the standard bar food you're used to. My favorite is their buffalo chicken wrap with "Dead Man Walking" sauce. Get some extra sauce on the side to dip as you eat! They've added some craft brews lately, so you're not stuck with Miller/Coors/Bud. Lastly, if you're into karaoke, go on a Saturday night. It's not my thing, but the place gets super packed! I've removed 2 stars since my first review... There used to be a Golden Tee machine. That's gone and there's an antique pinball in it's place. The jukebox has also been hobbled to death lately. Forget about playing any heavy metal, just about anything remotely rappish (even LL Cool J is banned) or even some surfer rock like the Dirty Heads.

I like this bar. If you don't like your drink even a little bit the bartender Kevin will NOT rest until you are completely happy. For food- I usually get the buffalo chicken wrap. I would probably come to the bar more often if they didn't allow smoking but I understand that's part of the appeal for some.

Bloody Mary Morn Cheese Burger will cure the Pain Your dad hangs out here So you ever wake up and the slim-est thought you are able to push through the pain is, "I need food"? That was this morning for me. I have a few standards in these moments, and this may make for an excellent yelp thread, and today's cure called for a spicy bloody mary and an overloaded cheese burger! I would have hit the Drake (crazy good burgers & $2 Mary's...see my review) but the games were about to start and I wanted someplace closer. That and yelp has renewed my desire to try new places all the time, so....I went to Breen's. I like Breen's. I've been a few times. Slayed some locals on the shuffle board, been totally over served, got goosed by a bar fly with more fingers than teeth. It's great! WARNING!!! This is a smokey place. There is a HUGE none smoking area (with two big open doors connecting to the smoking side so nonsmokers hate this place). There is usually an older crowd (read white hairs) with the occasional good looking set (read yours truly). Today was all white hairs and two of the guys I was sitting next two started recounting all the bartenders they've known there since first going in back in 1959 I think they said...THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN DRINKING IN THE SAME BAR FOR 50YRS! They are my new teen idols for sure. Food & Drink: Now you know I am all about the "love" and the bartender put some love in my drink. It was well vodka and Mr. & Mrs. T's at the core, but she went to the back for fresh horseradish. Busted out the celery salt rim on a frosty chilled glass...sweet sweet medicine. I like the bryner burger. It's a mushroom, bacon, swiss burger cooked to order on a roll with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Today it wasn't as good as the last time I had it (9 out of 10 that night) so I knocked a star off. People I've been with have ordered other sandwiches and all have looked delish. Pros: Good food, friendly atmosphere, family friendly without being G rated, more TVs than Best Buy, smoke friendly. Cons: maybe too smoke friendly. I here Rockledge cops are Nazis and while I've never had a problem I here they lay in wait for drinkers leaving Breen's and the Hollywood Tavern.

Not my first choice for a drink in the neighborhood, but not that bad of a bar. Definitely your mom/dads bar, no microbrews etc. It's never been that crowded anytime I've been in there.
