Wow! We had the best experience with Mark and Brenda, what wonderful hosts. The accommodations were perfect with plenty of space and comfortable beds. The breakfasts were very good with generous portions and wonderful conversation. We met so many nice people in our short 2 night stay. Their lovely dogs, Molly & Sophie were a delight too. We will definitely be back.

Brenda couldn't have been more accommodating. We had such a wonderful time and she made sure to make us feel right at home. We slept in a comfortable bed and woke up to a homemade, full country breakfast of baked oatmeal, homemade honeywheat bread and fresh, local yogurt among other things. The room was immaculately clean and we had our own private bathroom attached to the room. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back again in the near future.

My wife and I have stayed at several B&Bs over the past few years and had a great time at the Brownstone Colonial Inn. My wife loves colonial style homes so we were excited to stay in an authentic home from that era. Brenda was very friendly and helpful when it came to recommending places to eat or things to do, she knows the area well. My wife and I are both dog people so we enjoyed meeting her two dogs and puppies as well. Highly recommended if you are looking to visit Reading and/or Lancaster.

This is a charming home with cozy rooms. Brenda and Mark work hard to keep the home authentic. The breakfast is generous, filling and yummy. If you are shopping for antiques, this is the place to stay. If you plan to see a Sight and Sound presentation, you can find accommodations closer to Lancaster.

Brenda and Mark are incredible B&B owners. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Brenda's breakfast is unaparalleled - delicious and filling. They are both as accommodating as can be: one morning I needed an early breakfast and they were able to have it ready! Their hospitality is unbelieveable as they are wonderful hosts. I cannot recommend this place more!

Very nice place. We were saved by this place from a crappy hotel we had reserved. Thank God. Very quaint, cozy, quiet, relaxing place. The host(s) were extremely nice and accommodating. You won't be disappointed. And the moderate price was perfect.

This place was incredible and it's run by the nicest people in the world. Had a 2-day reservation for the 4th of July weekend. Girlfriend was flying in and her flight got cancelled on day 1. I called Brownstone to let them know. Without me even requesting, Brenda offered to not charge us for the night, on less than 10 hours notice, on what I imagine was one of their busiest weekends. Furnishings were great - unique and comfortable. Brenda's cooking in the morning was divine. The boxers and outdoor cat were great company, and the property is beautiful for a morning stroll. Seriously this place is the platonic ideal of the Pennsylvania bed and breakfast. Can't recommend it strongly enough.
