Delicious Mexican food on Carsonia in the Pennside/Stony Creek Mills area! Looks like I might be placing Fiesta Mexicana on my regular lunch rotation. I started with the tortilla soup which was nicely done. Excellent really. I followed that with the beef fajitas which may be the best I've had in the county. My lunch partner had the carne asada taco to which he gave a big thumbs up. Portions were very ample and we certainly did not need any dessert, but our friendly server informed us that for a limited time, they are offering free dessert with lunch. Not being the type of guys who turn down free dessert, we politely obliged. We went with flan and the tres leches cake. It turned out to be a brilliant decision. The flan was great and the tres leches was spectacular. If you've never tried it, I highly recommend giving it a go. As Kim Z noted, the décor is not fancy, but the food is great, our server was friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable. Greg says give it try!

This is the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had! I loved everything about my experience here. The restaurant was clean. Katie our waitress was a doll and our food was excellent. You can tell everything is truly homemade. I will be dining again.

This is great Mexican food. The tortilla soup is a meal in itself -- and a delicious one at that.

My boyfriend and I ate there tonight for the first time. Although the decor/ambiance doesn't wow, the good and service was top notch! We sat at the bar and Katie (the bartender) was wonderful! She was very sweet and attentive throughout our meal. We had guacamole, carne a la ranchera, a beef and cheese quesadilla, and enchiladas del mar. Everything was delicious and we were so full! We will definitely be back.

I have only been here once, yet it was enough to make me want to come back for more! The waitress I had was fantastic, and the food was even more fantastic. Quiet scene, yet its comfortable. I would describe the experience as eating in your own personal, mexican kitchen. The menu varies from seafood, meats, vegetables, or anything else you'd want in your mexican creation. I can't say too much for the bar, being I'm under 21, but it looked like a fun place to be. My dad ordered a margarita and enjoyed it. The place is hidden, but it is somewhere to try if you are into Mexican restaurants! oh, and did i forget to mention the homemade chips? mmm :)

Went a couple of weeks ago for lunch on a Monday for the first time. Food was excellent and a good price. They brought out warm chips with salsa, guacamole and a very interesting spicy dip. I had the lunch size fajitas which was delicious and plentiful. My husband had a yummy burrito. Our waiter, upon finding out it was our first visit turned into a mariachi singer with a stunningly beautiful voice...what a treat!!!! We were the only ones there so we ended up talking with him...couldn't have been nicer. The decor is simple but nice and they have a nice patio area. Highly recommend it.

Waited to post until I tried this place 3 times. Tonight was the 3rd time I've have had food here. Tonight was delivery, it was the same as the other 2 times: poor. The only positive is that they deliver. thats it... You are much better off at la cocina. Based on the food we tried, the people preparing the food have a general lack of respect for authentic mexican, they wouldnt serve this stuff at an authentic place. Too many other good places in the area to do this again.

We have new Mexican food in town, at the bottom of the mountain and near the end of Carsonia. The owner, a partner with Esposito who owns the casual Italian place a few blocks away, is friendly and willing to customize dishes. Seems like they are doing a sort of soft opening with more finishing touches to come, but the place was mostly full on a Friday night. The exterior of a simple building has been significantly fixed up with stone and bright but tasteful colors, and it looks like there will be a patio in warmer weather. There are nice dark wood tables. The walls still need decoration, and I would definitely advise them to turn down the lights or add the cool lamps they have over the bar to the tables. The lighting makes it seem diner-ish for now, which is not what they are going for. Menu is pretty large and also includes pizza (standard not Mexican) and ala cart items such as burritos. We loved the guacamole. There is a small vegetarian section on the menu, mostly cheese-based stuff, but they said they were willing to substitute guacamole for cheese. There is a list of veg combos, which are mysteriously described as "Options." I'd kill for a Mexican place that had vegan cheese and sour cream. I had the mango salad, which came with avocado and nice greens, not iceberg, and a sweet mango vinaigrette dressing blended into an emulsion, tasty. There is also an spinach-avocado salad that looked good. Most of the dishes are very plain without sour cream and cheese, but it doesn't have to be this way. How about a bean burrito dish with tomato sauce, mushrooms, onions, peppers, guacamole, rice, and a little of that mango dressing? They are still waiting for a liquor license, so you can BYOB for now. They were quick to bring the wine glasses and open my bottle. There is a huge margarita mixer behind the tasteful brown granite bar. Gone are Beachmee's (former owner) blue lights under the bar, in a giant panel with constantly rising bubbles that made you feel like you were going to fall down. Service was very attentive and kind. The staff checked on us often, even the busboy. How I long for more variety in the ethnic cuisines of Reading given the diversity of the population, i.e. African, Latino, South American, Eastern European, etc., both for cultural reasons and because ethnic food offers more plant-based healthful choices -- and thus less haggling for customizations, which wears me out. Berks County people feel very safe with Mexican, Italian, and Chinese and know they won't get too much spice.

Best Mexican food in town- forget Alebrije (the popular choice) - this hidden gem is the real deal- great enchiladas, burritos, and many others- most meals $10 and under- seek this place out and watch it become your new regular Mexican food place.

Mexican food is simple if done right . Fiesta Mexicana won us over on the first visit. The food was fresh and very tasty. The portions large and a great value . Our waiter Jose was outstanding , he busted out a guitar and started singing traditional Mexican music table side. I will come back and encourage you try this place . All the food has a spicy kick . The guacamole was really good and the menu offers great choices at a very fair price.

I was very surprised by the high quality of this place. My wife and I went in on a whim and we were blown away by the high quality of the food. They have one cook, and he makes everything from scratch and his cooking is very authentic. The burrito El Paso and burrito del mar are simply outstanding. They also have a full bar and they will change the food around to suit your liking. The high quality of the food has made this our go-to Mexican restaurant in Reading. Go to this place! you will fall in love!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
