I was thrilled when this Chipotle arrived in Reading. I was introduced to the chain by my boyfriend, who lives in Harrisburg, and we ate at the one near his house. I usually go with the barbacoa burrito without beans, with rice, hot salsa, and cheese. The ingredients are always fresh and tasty, and I've always been happy with the barbacoa. I've tried the steak before, but not at this location, and enjoyed it. I have never sampled the carnitas, but was disappointed with chicken. I found it too fatty and rubbery. I also enjoy the chips and salsa when I'm there for a calorie fest, but sometimes the chips are really greasy, like they weren't cooked or drained properly. I have sampled all of the salsas except the corn, and my favorite is the hot. The medium has some kick to it and a unique flavor that goes well with everything, and the mild is really just tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. It goes well with the hot though (you can ask for more than one salsa). Recently they appear to have added brown rice to their menu, which might be nice to those who enjoy their rice brown. I haven't gotten up the courage to try it, as I usually don't like brown rice (too hard). Maybe I'll ask for a sample someday. I appreciate the option to get an Izze soda as a drink, even if they are a bit pricey. Izze simply mixes sparkling water and juice, and it's a lot healthier than regular sodas. They have all the other usual options for drinks as well: Soda, water, and iced tea. As for portion sizes, I think they're pretty standard compared to what I've had at other Chipotles. If you want extra of an ingredient, you can always ask, and they're happy to oblige. I think the only things they charge extra for are guacamole (unless you get a veggie burrito, then there's no extra charge), and extra meat. Sometimes I ask for extra rice since I don't get beans. Also, they put plenty of cheese, sour cream, and salsa on. I never feel the need to ask for extras of those items. Sometimes I don't want the extra calories and opt for a burrito bowl, which is a burrito without the tortilla. Those are also great and make nice leftovers if you take them home and refrigerate them. I've never tried taking home a burrito for later, but I suspect the tortilla might get soggy. They also offer soft and crispy tacos and I believe they will make a quesadilla for you if you ask, even though it isn't on the menu. They also will make you a salad, but I haven't ever tried those. For me, if I wanted a salad, I would make one at home. The inside of the restaurant is pretty standard for a Chipotle. The music is decent, and I've never had a hard time finding a place to sit. The restaurant is pretty small compared to the other Chipotle I've been to, but it seems fine for the amount of people that eat there. They generally keep it clean, and the staff is polite and friendly. Finally, they have a smartphone app where you can order through your phone to pick up, but I haven't tried this method yet. The app is easy enough to use though.

Wrote to them TWO MONTHS AGO. I told them that I was in the mood for tacos, I ordered three & was excited to get home so I could stuff my face. Too bad that the young girl behind the counter had the bright idea to roll my tacos as if it was a burrito I couldn't even eat it. Needless to say, I was pissed. The corporate team got back to me & said they'd send out coupons - I've yet to receive ANYTHING. In a world with so many dining options, I will not be back. I'll gladly spend my money elsewhere & be valued as a customer.

I work in the area, and have stopped at this particular store on several occasions. Chipotle seems to be a happy medium between fast food tex mex and more home grown, local operations. While the burritos aren't the greatest in the world, they're worth the money for the size and the quality. Further, they manage to taste good without making me regret their consumption mere minutes after finishing. They charge a bit too much for Gucamole, in my opinion. Also, they don't de-seed the jalapenos before putting them into their salsa...and the seed is the spiciest thing in the pepper. Not knowing this, I ordered a burrito one time with mild salsa and got hit with a seed. Youch! That was not fun. However when I brought this to their attention, they did give me a brand new burrito for no cost and offered me an appology...so at least they were nice about it. I'm sure there are some better, smaller local places...but in an area where it's either a place like this or Taco-Bell for fast tex-mex? Chipotle does a lot more right then they do wrong. The customer service is great and the food is far above the average. I'd take the order to go however; I find the dining room seats sort of uncomfortable.

I LOVE chipotle. I'm a huge fan. The guacamole is the best I have ever eaten and I swear I could just spoon it into my mouth. I love the fact they offer vegan options as well as plentiful options for meat eaters. Also, I think everyone loves how fresh the ingredients are for the franchise. It's just a great place to support! The reason I am giving three stars is for this location. It's hard to get parking at dinner time, my orders aren't ready for pick-up A LOT, the staff is kind of un-organized and fight with each other openly, and there were times when our bowls were BARELY filled with food. I think they changed managers recently (it's July of 2015), and I have seen a decline in the staff performance and food quantity/quality. I love Chipotle, though, so it's all good!

I've been to this Chipotle thrice, so I think it's time to write a review. The food is great. Everything is fresh and hot, even late at night when they should be closing up. I always order a vegan burrito bowl: white rice, black beans, fajitas, sofritas, all three tomato salsas, corn, lettuce, guacamole, and a tortilla on the side. Sometimes extra guacamole if I'm feeling good. The food is filling and the price is great. I have no problems with Chipotle and I make any Chipotle I go to my home. ... but can someone tell me why the workers have attitude problems? All three times, they look ticked off. I know working in a restaurant isn't fun, but don't scoff when customers come in. Also, DON'T IGNORE THEM. The little girls working near the tortillas were more interested in the group of boys behind me and my coworkers than the people right in front of them. They don't slide your food down the line, they push it and mix orders up. Someone, please explain this phenomenon. I know it was super busy that last day I went because it was Cinco de Mayo and they were probably exhausted and angry, but still! I just wanted some dinner after working 11-hours straight. "Hello, how are you? What can I make for you?" I've never heard that at this Chipotle. They don't even speak... They just look in your direction with a little head bob. Please, don't cop an attitude with your customers. Especially, the ones who gladly patronize your store. We're the ones paying your bills.

Maybe I'm simply not a Chipotle person. Every time I go to Moe's, I pick so many toppings for my burrito bowl that it turns into a mountain of food. In comparison, when I'm at Chipotle, I can get at most 5 toppings, which is kind of sad. Also, the $2.05 guacamole upcharge is scary. On the plus side though, the dining area seemed clean enough, after we wiped the crumbs off of the seats. Had no problems with the service either. So I think it's okay, but it won't be my go-to faux-Mex joint.

been here a dozen times so far. Not sure the entire chain as a whole raised prices of their menu but since moving to the area, I noticed that this place charges a bit more than I was used to. Also, in comparing to other chipotle around the state, they definitely skimp you with the food. Service could also improve in comparison to other chipotle establishments. Being that this is the only one within a reasonable driving distance, we will continue our patronage. However, the area does offer some kick ass hole in the wall family restaurants offering authentic hispanic cuisine.

Chipotle serves delicious Mexican fast food. The use of quality ingredients (natural) is why it cost more. However you get what you pay for and you are what you eat. There is no comparison between Chipotle and Taco Bell. TB is not even food. Qdoba, Baja Fresh and Moe's are in the running but not as good. Cons: 1) this location is skimpy and serves tiny portions. Charging premium prices they need to increase their serving size. 2) the manager at this location is awful. I called in an order for 20 people & the manager was rude and arguing with me over minor details with my order. 3) located in a cramped strip mall with insufficient parking. I love Chipotle but can't stand this specific location.

I'm not sure why people like this place so much. The burritos aren't bad, but there are much better places. And they make you pay extra for chips here which ticks me off. I like their commitment to having fresh ingredients, but frankly any good restaurant does this without having to preach about it. The decor of this place seems to be modeled on an automotive plant break room. Maybe it's targeted to a younger crowd for whom this will be the closest they ever get to an auto plant. Nevertheless, people seem to like it. It's always crowded at lunch time.

We have been fans of Chipotle since the early days when the states they were in could be counted on one hand. Always dependable and tasty, French cooking techniques meets oversized Mexican portions! Yes, they charge for chips, but they are fresh made each day and clearly better than the average Mexican joint. Compared to other locations in PA, Reading is reliable and typically has short or no lines (compare to DC where a 10+ minute wait is the norm).

I hope they add the spicy tofu burrito, called Sofritas, to the menu as some stores in progressive areas are doing. The hot salsa here is actually spicy, thank you! And there is a smoky adobo Tabasco, which we had to take to our table.

Stopped by this place tonight for takeout and I was severely disappointed in the food. Not only did they try to give me 4, puny, shriveled pieces of chicken in one of my tacos, but when I asked for a little more meat, they charged me for double meat! I also ordered chips, which were cold and stale. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, which is the only reason I'm giving the place 2 stars instead of 1.

Don't waste your Sunday evening at this location. Rude workers, sloppy food, my burrito wasn't wrapped completely and tossed in a bag. They could not handle out large order (not sure what was ordered, missed items, nothing labeled) and proceeded to tell us we should have ordered ahead because they couldn't handle 7 items in one order. Chipotle management needs to review this store.

Always packed beyond belief... And the girl at the register needs a serious attitude check...

I love Chipotle no matter which location I order at. I find one common thread with all locations I experience..... the temperature of he food is way too low. I find that my food goes cold after the first few bites. Not a fan of that!

My wife wanted to try it, we both got burrito bowls, me chicken and her steak. Wife's was ok, not very warm. My chicken bowl on the other hand was cold, cold chicken, cold rice and barely warm pinto beans. Inside the place was like a warehouse, plywood on the walls and floor was just concrete. The ceiling went all the way up to the steel rafters. Could not hear the people behind the counter and could not have a conversation. Not worth the $17 I spent for the to of us and they have a nerve to put a box by the register for tips! That's a joke. When we walked out we both said we should have gone next door to Anthony's Coal Fired Restaurant.

New tofu option is excellent. As a vegan, this is a go-to spot for a quick bite.

LOVE IT. Clean and food is always good - never a bad experience. My only issues - 1. it can take a bit of time to get through the line especially at dinner time. They are doing their best but if a newbie walks in it jams up the process pretty fast (they sit and stare and dont have a clue what they want). 2. Whoever designed that parking lot was on crack - enough said.

Points to the girl at the register who was super friendly (even though it was stupid busy.) They moved super fast, which can be expected for a rainy, Friday evening. I asked for a bit of sour cream and extra lettuce. I got just the opposite. I think I got a whole container of Daisy sour cream and a tiny bit of lettuce on my bowl. Who ever was on that side of the line was not paying attention. That is a ton of Sour cream....good grief... in a lactose coma. We also ordered two tortillas on the side of our bowls. We made it through the line and when we got home discovered we had only received one. What's up with that?! Come on guys...Speed is good but you have to complete the customers order as requested..customer service 101!

They should offer showers after eating here. The food was so watery that my hands were drenched after eating a burrito. In addition, the carnitas burrito that I was eating had almost no flavor. In fact, the only part of the burrito that wasn't bland was the beans, and they are naturally devoid of flavor. Luckily, they did have a little selection of hot sauces, including a chipotle sauce. Instead of eating here, go to Moe's Southwest Grille. You get more food for your buck (Chipotle charges for any chips while Moe's gives you some for free). In addition, Moe's hase multiple salsas to offer, plus a new individualized Coke machine to boot.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
