Stopped off here for a break in travel after reading reviews. The food was good, although the burgers were slightly overlooked. The Mac and cheese bites were really good. There was only one server, but the service was ok. There were 3 bartenders working and they were kept busy. There was a DJ playing a wide variety (rock, metal, country, rap). The music was very loud and it made it hard to talk to each other. Wide variety of beer to take out, but at $14+ for a 6 pack it was pricy. Make sure you put West Reading in your GPS or else you end up in a not so great area.

Great bar food and more. Awesome selection of craft beers on draft with an extensive 6 pack and singles selections for purchase to go. Great atmosphere, very polite and courteous. Right next door to a Candlewood Suites so if your staying there for the night, hit them up for some premium beers at a reasonable price.

Excellent food and good selection of beer. Wings are good size and they have great flavors.

My BF and I were in the Reading area and looking for a spot to watch some Monday Night Football. We found this place on Yelp. Based on the reviews, we tried it out and we're happy we did. We enjoyed the sports bar atmosphere, food and drinks. The bartenders were good and attentive. When back in the area we hope to have the chance to go back. Till then, Cheers :)

So I pull into the hotel next door and the sign for this place catches my eye. That's a bit of an understatement because my last name is "Brewer." As you might expect it was mandatory that I stop in. I'm delighted that I did as this is a great neighborhood bar! It's no surprise that the place was nicely busy. All the pieces are in place for a good time- * A large square bar with plenty of TVs. * Seats around the perimeter if bar stools aren't your thing. * I love that they have a TouchTunes juke box so I can play songs from my smart phone app. * A separate entrance and room for take-out beer. * Non-smoking. Two aspects of this place deserve elaboration. The first is the excellent food. This is bar food at its best. These folks do not pretend to be a gastro pub. We're talking classic bar food but done very, very well. I tried the IPA Steak for $7.99. It gets the name because it includes Dogfish 60 Minute IPA mustard along with mushrooms, roasted peppers, and provolone. It was outstanding. Next is the beer list. Unless you live under a rock you know that the craft beer craze is in full swing. I travel a great deal and I've visited dozens of places that have dozens of taps. That's great but these folks go the other way. They have a few taps but they are nothing a beer aficionado like me dreams about. The amazing thing here is the bottle list of over 200 eclectic beers. The list is beautifully organized and it's easy to pick your poison. There were many beers here that I have never seen before. I was in heaven! Check out their list online. I don't get to Reading very often but I would go out of my way to visit here again if I travel anywhere close.

My husband and I have been here a few times in the last couple of months to watch a game and get a few drinks and appetizers. I really enjoy the classic neighborhood feel of this place, and I like that the 360-degree bar is the focus. Service may be a little slow at tables, but we've always been well taken care of at the bar. I've never been disappointed with the food; I can't get enough of the Moon sauce wings, and they are cooked well. Drink specials rotate daily and are decent, and craft brew selection is sufficient. Great everyday kind of place. Editing my review 5/29/15 to 5 stars for continued excellent service and food at Brewer's. Wings are perfectly cooked, many of the condiments are house-made, and the service is always attentive and friendly.

Food was decent. Lots of beers to choose from. Literally hundreds...almost overwhelming. Not a terribly friendly vibe (this isn't a very friendly city), but Scott (bartender) was very welcoming. I'd come back, but probably not when they have a DJ. I'm too old for that crowd.

One of our favorite places to go. Neighborhood bar. The food is really good bar fare with nice selection of beers and micro brews. Good selection of beers for to go. Never have had a bad meal here.
(5)James B.
Came here with a friend l to just have a beer and relax. It was perfect for doing just that. Atmosphere is a sport-bar type place. Nothing too fancy, just pull up a bar-stool and have a beer.

Brewer's Bar and Grill, in Reading, Pennsylvania, served me the tiniest slider on a pretzel roll ever. The beer selection was lacking in my opinion, but I did try a beer I cannot find in Colorado. Typical for a neighborhood bar, it was not too loud and there were televisions to watch sports or breaking news. Overall it was a very quaint place to visit. Check it out. You'll be glad you did.

I have been in town working for the last two weeks and have eaten here at least 7 or 8 times. I love this place! Food is awesome and reasonably priced. A good mix of every day beers as well as a few craft selections. Staff is top notch and very friendly. Tonight will be my last night in town and I'm heading to Brewers!

Great food...excellent portions and a nice casual atmosphere...if you're looking for a relaxed place to have a burger and beer, this place is it

Stopped in with a group of friends before we went to a concert. I know it's considered "bar food" but everything was really good, much better than I expected. The service was excellent even though the place was packed. Our drinks were good and not overpriced so thanks for that too.
(4)Mike R.
Service was very slow tonight, rather full. Awesome beer selection/list except it doesn't have labeled prices. In the description it has "$$$" however it is not that pricey and they have "deals" pretty much everyday and beer pong if your into that. Good business with good ideas, just needs to be ran in a more professional manner. So far it's been 45 minutes since we have ordered, still haven't gotten our wings yet. SLOW SERVICE
(3)Ted A.
Great beer selection, great pub food, and attentive, helpful service. Excellent place for a casual evening out. They have a beer retail store attached, which is a little on the pricey side, but with a lot of good offerings.
(5)Elizabeth A.
Great food! Nice friendly service. Good drinks. They deliver to downtown Reading too!
(4)Tierra D.
A great place to get cheap drinks and listen to good music and dance (if you go on a weekend). The dance space really is just a corner of the bar without any tables to block it off. The other reviews are right. It's nothing fancy and it is small. Everyone is pretty casual so don't waste your time getting dolled up. The crowd is mixed. 20s to 50s. I went late with friends on a Saturday night and there were no seats. Party people were there so it was fun to watch. The hot sauce for the chicken wings is legit. Try it. Make sure you have a drink in your other hand. I heard that the food here during the day was pretty good.

Just passing through, and wanted to catch a March Madness game. What a nice place. Amazing selection of beers.....local, and not so local. Good TV placement, and not too loud. Had a great pastrami sandwich. Everyone very friendly.....too bad it's a 9 hour trip!

I am writing this review for what Brewer's is which it is a typical neighborhood bar (in other words do not coming here looking for anything super special) The food is basic bar food but they execute it very well. Very good cheese steaks and wings and great prices! They have all you can eat wings on Mondays, they are very good if you are hungry enough. Decent beer selection. Service is very friendly, many TVs for sports, an area in the back that sells 6 packs and 12 packs. Gets busy on friday and saturday nights. They have DJ's and beer pong on the weekends. Great neighborhood bar for what it is. Not fancy but nice enough.

Brewster's has that neighborhood pub feel with an updated sports bar theme. Food is the normal fair for watching sports or casual dinning. Food is hot and fresh, never a bad plate from here. Staff is very friendly and keeps up with a bustling bar crowd. They have carryout food and beer. Stop in and give them a try.
(5)Bill S.
Clever, meaty variety of wings. They don't skimp which can be rare. Really good cheese steaks, too. I only did take out, but recommended especially for an Eagles game!!!!
(4)Dan H.
This is a great place. I go there to watch the football games because they have the NFL Ticket... all the games. The food is good and reasonably priced so I also eat here frequently. The employees are friendly and the atmosphere is great. An added bonus is that it is a no smoking bar. I always enjoy my trips to this local joint!
(5)Mark G.
great food, wings are the best in the county, staff is friendly
(5)Erin B.
Such a quaint place with amazing brews and food! From the outside, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall diner, but in the inside it is a well-maintained bar. There was a great selection of beers on tap and the happy hour specials were a great price as well. The burgers all sounded so amazing it was difficult to choose just one. The hubs and I decided to share two; the Texas burger and the Kansas City burger. Definitely opt for the pretzel roll, fantastic! It may become our new local spot.

It's not often that I give a bar and grill 5 stars, but I'm giving it to Brewer's because they far exceed expectations in the category of sports bars -- in fact, perhaps the best I've experienced anywhere. The place is a bit of a dive in a charming kind of way, and it certainly is a sports bar in terms of its atmosphere. But this is no average sports bar. The burgers here are phenomenal, and my followers know that I'm picky about burgers. They have to be charcoal grilled (or at least taste like it), simple and served on a great bun. Perhaps the buns could improve here, but the meat, grilled onions and the gruyere cheese were all memorably delicious. The fries had a McDonald's like consistency -- and who doesn't like fries? Beyond the burger, what truly is impressive here is the craft beer options. I did not expect it in Reading, but this bar has one of the best selections of craft beer that I've seen, and particularly in a sports bar. A small beer store is attached to the bar, and I picked up 6 more craft beer selections that I'd never experienced to bring home with me. The store clerk and the server were not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the beer. Great spot, and happy I stayed at the hotel next door so that I could experience it.

Great beer selection (you would think that's a given since bar & grill is in the name but it's not). The lot is always too full when we want to stop but we happened on a spot today. Clean, friendly staff (Kelly was right over to our table and helpful with dish & beer suggestions) and an easy bar menu. Pretzels are all over the menu. I'm told the wings are great, in addition to the burgers and cheesesteaks. Dan tried the American Pale Ale burger. It was a mouthful for him! I tried the chicken version of the cheesesteak. It seemed only appropriate to do it West Reading Style. Uh oh. It was really good. Not at all healthy but a sloppy good mess. I asked if Kelly would bring out a to-go box so I could half of it up right away. She had them package it up in the kitchen. When we were ready to go she brought it out. I thought that was thoughtful. It's the little things and that tasty sauce! Great place to grab a game, take out or a 6-pack of something unique!

Favorite bar in the area, completely underrated. Fills up fast but great, cheap drinks! Diverse bar crowd always some great convos!
(4)Boris H.
Great neighborhood pub with decent food, good beer, mixed crowd and friendly stuff. As a guest of the hotel next door I got even a small discount.
(5)Thomas K.
Stopped in for lunch because it was a mile from my girlfriends house and she had been told good things about it but never been there. The bartender was super friendly and really took care of us. It felt like we were regulars. The food was very good and they have a great beer selection for small place. We will definitely go back and will recommend it to friends.

Love this place. Im here once a week. The staff is for the most part perfect and the food is awesome. Definately recommended!!!
(5)Gregg C.
One of my favorite places to go. For either drinks or food this place is always a great place. No matter what you order the food is awsome. I love how the staff make you feel welcome. Great crowd and always a delight to come in. Unlike the other place down the block, this place is ment for people to come in and enjoy the night out.
(5)Tina K.
The owner truly needs to gather his staff and educate on how to treat customers properly and how to cook food correctly. I've given this establish MORE than enough fair tries to say that whether its busy or 2 people are at the bar its terrible here. The last 2 times I sent my burger back TWICE, due to it being well done and not rare plus being on the wrong type of roll. Last time there were 6 people at the bar and I got waited on by Security while the Bartender was too busy attending to his cell phone, dont drink a Bomber at the bar unless you intend on paying at least $2 more for it they wont tell u that of course until u get the bill n question it and then u get "oh thats the take out price".Oh and as far as the so called DJ, you've got to pay the cover charge even if you've been there for awhile eating etc.

Every small town should have a bar/bottleshop like this one. You can walk into this place and immediately feel at home. Its tiny with a square bar and a few tables around the sides but the food in quality. This was regular happy hour stop for me and I would get dinner and drinks less than twenty dollars. They always have a great beer selection and have a rotation of quality craft beers on tap. They had good pretzels, soups and salads which were my go to after a long week.

Love the steak and cheese fries

Awesome food, awesome staff, awesome prices, awesome portion sizes, awesome beer selection! I cannot say enough good things about Brewers! I have been coming to Brewers since I got out of the Marine Corps a few years ago. I have never had anything bad ever! Everything i have tried has been amazing! I only ever had one issue there, and that was with a take out order. They not only corrected the problem but they even gave us a gift card for our troubles. I cannot even begin to tell you how many people I have referred to come try this place out! Keep up the great work!

Brewer's is pretty much your standard neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Definitely not trendy, and the word pretentious should not be used within a few blocks of this place. A large rectangular bar dominates the main bar room. Tables ring the sides, and an outdoor seating area is available too when the weather is nice. A large takeout beer sales area is in the back. Food is simple bar food, but well executed. It's worth a look at the nightly specials. On Monday night, I had the all you can eat chicken wings + a pitcher of beer for $11.95, It's a pretty sweet deal. Nice meaty wings. Better than Peanut Bar or Hooters. Nice choice of sauces. I'm slowly recovering from that episode of gluttony. Someday I'll learn that "all you CAN eat" doesn't necessarily mean that you should. But that's my fault, not Brewer's.
