Just ok.....I remembered it being better....not sure if it was my choices that I ordered or not ...Interior is quaint....log cabinish....service was good Maybe I look for higher quality in my food.I especially look for organic stuff on menu's and home cooked....hence my 3 star rating...

I'm from California and I was driving by. The name and log cabin look caught my at tension. The French onion soup is wonderful. The house salad was a mixed greens which I prefer over an iceberg salad. I also ordered the crab cakes. Being on the east coast you have to have crab cakes if you are a seafood lover as I am. I would stop at Bubba's again when I find myself on my was to Nazareth.

Very disappointed in the size of the hamburgers. They used to be awesome and fill the roll but now they don't even come to the edge of the roll. Our food was not hot and there was no excuse for that. Onion soup was as good as always, however, not hot,either. We went on a Wed. night and the restaurant was empty. Now we know why. Also shrunk the menu. It used to be 4 or 5 pages and now it is 2.

First time here and will never go back..the server was nice..but the food was awful..prob the worst food i've ever had from a resteraunt..the chicken was so chewy you couldnt even swallow it..and my husband had the apple chicken that had no taste and seemed to be reheated in the microwave with a bunch of cheap tasting bbq sauce thrown over it..neither meal was eaten..and the manager on duty response was we should have told him earlier..worst experience,food,and management!!!

Nice enough, my wife and I stopped in here for a quick late dinner. French onion soup was great, salad was very basic. Chicken saltimbocca was cold when it came out and covered in a mysterious brown gravy, steak fries were hot but not firm or crispy. My wife enjoyed a stuffed beef dish with a baked potato. Guinness was not poured correctly and/or sat at the bar too long before being picked up by the waitress. Highlight of the night was when I was walking out after dinner I ran into a person I once cooked with at a local restaurant 25 years ago.

This is one of those places where I go back and forth about whether I should rate a place based on my own personal standards or based in factors like location versus expectations, etc. Ultimately, I figure I should base it on my own standards. SO, that being said - I am from the Lehigh Valley and grew up going here with my parents. I used to get them gift certificates for Bubba's because they love it so much. We're talking more than 20 years (TWENTY YEARS) of going to this place. When I was younger and didn't have much of a pallet, I liked it just fine. I went through a vegetarian phase and I could get salads and omelette here. I liked the big, fat steak fries. But NOW... Eh. I tolerate it for my parents. When I come out to visit, we usually wind up here once. The big fat steak fries are SO GREASY and brown. The burgers are ok. This last time I got the British Burger. Again, just so GREASY. The burger itself was ok (they DID manage a perfectly done medium-rare.) I've had lots of their food in the past - omelettes, chicken, pasta, crab cakes, desserts... Nothing super memorable. I spend a lot of time cringing at these places because otherwise, I am pretty vigilant about organic, in season food and grassfed meats. You get none of that here which I understand is pretty scarce in the Lehigh Valley. I'm not deducting points for that. ALTHOUGH, I let my son get Mac 'n Cheese and it was nothing more than Kraft Mac 'n Cheese. Sigh. (We only ever make proper Mac n cheese at home and would normally only choose restaurants that serve the real deal. I didn't expect some bechamel based, gourmet mac 'n cheese, but... man, it killed me to see them set down the Kraft junk in front of my son.) BUT my parents always seem fairly content, so... The decor is entertaining. As another reviewer said its like a pub crossed with a log cabin. It's pretty dark inside, feels like its stuck in time. Even after the huge fire that shut it down 15 or so years ago, Bubba's hasn't changed ONE BIT. I feel terrible for writing this review because - well, TWENTY YEARS of going here. But I just would never go here again if not for my parents. I have it two stars because my parents still like it, the cook managed a proper medium-rare, and for TWENTY YEARS of my being dragged here. And oh yeah - the French Onion soup. They are known for their French Onion soup. I can't personally vouch for it but my Dad used to go bonkers for it. (However, he hasn't even ordered it in years so who knows how it is now.) It's.. yeah. A Quakertown Institution, but that does not automatically grant it extra stars. Take my review for what it's worth. I see some people saying the burgers are GREAT and comparing them to Red Robin burgers. *I* do not consider anything from Red Robin to be good and a Red Robin burger is not my standard.

I would put this at 3.5 stars. Describing the decor as something between a log cabin and pub is accurate.I have been there twice. Loved the burger, the ribs were average (although admittedly falling off the bone). Good portion sizes and very nice staff.

While visiting our folks in the area, we ate at the Coopersburg Diner (what a horrible experience) and Bubba's. At Bubba's, everyone in our group ordered sandwiches and the French onion soup and we loved everything. I got the "Ed Wynn" a roast beef-on-marble-rye topped with onion rings and creamy horseradish sauce. My husband ordered a Reuben. We polished our plates, which was very different from the garbage heap we had at the Coopersburg Diner up the road (Rte 309). Hubby and I had another opportunity to eat at Bubba's a couple of days later. They open at 11:30 and we were the first in. By 12 (it was a Fri) the place was half full and humming. We had the mushroom soup (thick-almost a gravy...very tasty) and their tweak of the Reuben, switching the sauerkraut to a creamy coleslaw over pastrami. We decided to split the sandwich and the kitchen fully plated the open face sandwich for each of us, including chips and pickle, and we weren't charged extra. The place was clean...lots of polished wood. The waitress was friendly (she served us both times). We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Bubba's and will make it a point to eat there, when visiting the area again.

We ate at Bubba's for many years and was very satisfied. Then we moved to Va. and recently came back for a visit. We ate at Bubba's again. The onion soup was mostly broth, very few onions.I always get a Rachel sandwich. They were huge. This one was half the size and there were no french fries, they are now an extra. They put a bag of chips on the plate instead. We were very dissapointed. What happened?????

Being a valley native i have been going to Bubbas for decades. I filled up on Sundays at the buffets they had, I would tell people their burgers are the best around, NOT NO MORE. The past 5 times I was there it was Shit, I have eaten at the cramped tables as well as the cozy bar,but when the bartenders have no personality and My drinks are inconsistent I think, I can get this service at a number of places.I do look when i drive by and have noticed Lunch and Dinner traffic no longer lined up out the door like i did so many times in THE GOOD OLD DAYS. BUBBAS is no longer the place for me, Sucks it is only 5 miles from my house

Stay away!! I'm new to the area and stopped in to give it a try and I was very disappointed:( The waitress was very nice and recommended the crab cakes. They were obviously not fresh and I suspect they may have been microwaved! Served with carrots that tasted salty and soggy sweet potato fries. I will not be back.

Disappointing. Ribs were fair, apple chicken pretty good, bread awesome and hot. Waitress agreed to bring more but never got around to it. When I finished, she asked if I was done and upon saying yes, she held out her hand for me to hand her my plate. Interesting. At least I didn't have to bus the whole table. No, her arms absolutely could reach the table and , no, she didn't wasn't busy balancing someones additional bread. Overall, food was fair, service was rough, prices typical, decor was fine but is still "one and done".

The french onion soup was good. Other than that it was a terrible experience. We went there for dinner & it was over 90 degrees outside. Inside it was pretty warm but we just figured there was air conditioning cycling since it appeared there were several wall units there. After we ordered & started our soups and salads, we noticed it was getting too warm to bear. I asked if we could be moved to a colder section. We were told they were having problems with the AC "unit" all day and did not move us. It was my wifes birthday. From the increasing heat, seeing sweat pouring down her nose and dripping on her salad plate made me angry. I'll always remember how they ruined her birthday dinner. We noticed surrounding people taking their meals to-go so we did the same. They really should have had a sign up on the front door warning that the AC was not working so this whole situation could have been avoided. We picked on our meals when we got home. They really weren't good. Not just from sitting. My prime rib was way too underdone. Like they just gave up on it. The carrots included with it were mushy & watterlogged, like they had been frozen then left in water much too long while being heated. My wife's "pork kabobs" were OK but we could have done much better ourselves just by throwing some italian dressing before grilling. After being treated like this we will be telling all our friends to make sure they don't go there.

I've been here several times and I have not been impressed. The atmosphere is old country cabin and the food follows that theme. The dishes are something any cook at home can make however the flavors are very dull. What really disappointed me was what they served and called "Virginia ham" which tasted like lunch meat and nowhere near Virginia ham

Finally made it here, after hearing good things for years - I was not disappointed. Bubba's is known for its really good (and inexpensive) bar food. They have some of the best burgers in Valley, hands down. Think Red Robin type selection, only local, cheaper and better. I got the Kennett Square burger - mushrooms with an herb and garlic cheese. Juicy, cooked to perfection and delicious. At $7.95 (with chips and pickle) price was nice as well. Decor as others mention is heavy on the wood paneling and old time lanterns, but it makes it fun and homey. Our waitress was good - not great, but others have mentioned one waitress in particular who is really good and entertaining. We will be back!

Walked in at 9. Took 10 minutes to get drinks. There was only two waitresses working and the service was just terrible. The appetizers came out right away but that was the only thing. They gave us rolls half an hour after our appetizers came out. Our waitress was very sweet, however, she never cleaned our appetizer plates that were in front of us. It was so unappetizing. It took half an hour to get refills on our drinks and instead of just bringing out refills she brought out a pitcher of soda. Lastly, it took an hour for our mediocre food to come out. By the time the food came out it was 10 and we were no longer hungry.

Without a doubt this is one of those places that just never changes. It's a lovely log cabin that has the best French Onion soup in the valley, hands down! I've been coming to Bubba's for 20+ years and they've never fiddled with the recipe. The rest of the place is a solid offering, tasty food at good prices. I went for the steak salad, which came out prepared just the way I asked. Mom went with the crab cakes (I'm a bit of a crab cake snob) but she really enjoyed them. The sweet potato fries were spot on, hot and crispy (something a lot of folks really botch.)

Wow where do I start.... To say this place went down hill is an understatement! I had French Onion soup which was my favorite in the whole Lehigh Valley. It is now diner grade at best, typical Sysco poor ingredients. For dinner I had the pork and sauerkraut special. I was appalled. The pork was fatty pork chops sitting in 2 inches of sauerkraut water. I will eat almost anything but this was horrific, maybe people here have no taste buds?!?? The best thing we had were the dinner rolls. You have been warned!

Just here for a quick lunch. French Onion soup and a salad. Both were very good and I definitely did not think the soup was made with cheap ingredients as some other reviewers have said. It was some of the best French onion soup I've had. Good service as well.

Our server Candice was super friendly and super awesome. She visited our table often to ask how we were doing or update us on what was coming out next. Our drinks never reached empty. Stay hungry, my friends! The portions are not only generous in size; they are of course delicious. Chicken Pot Pie was on the specials menu, and I had to take half of it home. The leftovers made for an epic breakfast the next day. :)

Visited recently. The food was good but we found out that Bubba's family sold the restaurant. We were told it was bought by the chain that owns Michaels. That's sad. I'm sure it will be all downhill from herefor Bubbas because I've never had a good experience at Michael's...all 2 times that I visited them in Montgomeryville. After the second time, I decided not to ever go back. I hope they don't trash Bubbas because Bubbas is a place that so many of us loved for so many years.

A classic staple in Quakertown. Many "locals" remember Bubba and his awesome food, big portions, great prices. Well, after his death, this place is slowly dying also. The food gets worse and worse, the quality is cheaper and cheaper, and somehow the prices go up and up. One of the best burgers around quickly went to "Maybe we should just goto McDonalds." Even the VERY famous French Onion soup has quickly turned into a cheap tasting, probably better to buy it from the grocery store, product. I always felt like calling Gordon Ramsey on this place, but even he would not attempt to step into this place. Oh yeah....a few times I've seen a few employees smoking "weed" or "crack" behind the dumpster. Way to ruin a landmark guys. I may not live around here anymore but when I visit from Hawaii, this is one place I will avoid for the rest of my life.

Hickville central! Steamed veggies were mushy, seafood combo is grease-loaded. Couldn't even eat the fish since its basically a sponge that absorbed oil when it was fried. Shrimp and scallops had thick, greasy batter that needed to be peeled off in order to be considered edible. Service: mediocre. By the way, the place needs a good cleaning due to the musky odor that you will definitely notice when you walk in.

Bubba's is a Quakertown institution. I can't count on all my fingers and toes the number of times I've eaten here with friends and family since I first visited in the late 80's. The place is as others have mentioned, it's like a cross between a log cabin and a pub. The bar area is as small as they come and can get VERY tight. Even the dining area is small compared to most other restaurants and if you go at prime dinner time on the weekend, say 5:30 to 7:30ish, you can expect to have up to an hour wait to get seated and stand in a line that can go out the door. IMO Bubba's excels at delivering great quality and portions on most everything on their menu with one exception - entrees. I don't know what it is but with the dozens of times I've been at Bubba's in the last 20+ years I've never been satisfied when I got an entree. The entrees have always disappointed me in taste and portion size. Fortunately everything else on the menu is outstanding; appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and desserts are all excellent. So whenever we go we just get appetizers and sandwiches/burgers and if there's room dessert, and we leave very happy. I am SO glad that after all these years they finally fixed the 2 big complaints that most people had about Bubba's. First, the fact that the restaurant has such tight quarters and they had a smoking and non-smoking section was a joke. So being in the non-smoking section at Bubba's was like being in the smoking section and it sucked. It's non-smoking now so that's fixed. Also for as long as I have been coming here they served the sodas in these short and very narrow glasses that held about 6-8oz. With ice taking up half the glass you'd already be slurping out the remains from the bottom of the glass by the time the waitress was walking away and it wasn't free refills. Thank goodness they finally have normal size drinking glasses now.

I tried Bubba's tonight for the first time after my boyfriend and I bagged out of an Act II play at DeSales U early. We were pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere - wood everywhere - kind of like cross btw log cabin and Irish pub. They had a nice beer selection including plenty on draft of which our waitress, Cheryl, was very knowledgeable. We shared a plate of loaded fries - delicious but would have liked it better with real cheese and not cheese sauce. The boy had their "Rachel" sangwich - basically a Reuben with corned beef instead of pastrami. He said it was the best one he has ever had. I decided to try the crab cake sandwich, which was also really good. Overall when I'm in the area again, I would definitely go back.

I can't believe there are no reviews for Bubbas. A great place to dine and in a log cabin to boot! Bring your appetite! You will think you are in Texas because everything is bigger in Bubbas! The Onion Soup is to die for and the salads are tops. Nachos huge and are very tasty. Full Bar. Bar is smoking :o( but restaurant area is non-smoking.

I really enjoy Bubba's my favorite is the cream of mushroom soup, with big chunks of soup, that plus a "samich" is always plenty and I usually take 1/2 my sandwich home and I am a big guy. The place is cozy, reminds me of a cabin out in the middle of the woods.

I've eaten at Bubba's a few times over the years. The burgers were usually pretty good, but, nothing spectacular. My last trip to Bubba's is definitely the last trip. My burger (ordered medium) came out barely cooked. The waitreee then proceeded to tell me that this is the way they make their burgers when you ask for medium. I literally pulled the burger apart with blood and raw meat dripping form my hands to show her that she was wrong and still she insisted that the burger was medium. Never again.

My wife and I decided to try Bubba's because of the cute exterior and catchy name. We went on a friday night around 6:00. There was no wait when we went and we were greeted and seated immediately. The seating is a bit crowded, giving me the feeling of being stuck in a relatives house at a holiday when clearly their house is not big enough for this many people. That being said it wasn't that bad just noting it. We tried the stuff mushrooms for an appetizer and they came out almos like a french onion soup, covered with melted cheese. They tasted pretty good, but not my idea of a stuffed mushroom. The salad, which was complimentary with our meals was good but nothing worth writing home about, (Picture Dole spring mix with a couple of cherry tomatoes and sliced onion). For my meal i tried the Coconut shrimp with the Pina Colada sauce. It was tasty but came out with blackened edges from being overcooked. The flavor wasn't very distinct. My wife had Apple stuffed chicken and she found it an inspiring idea with uninspired though adequate flavoring. The service was good. All in all, not a bad place to stop for a meal. Good prices, good food, but nothing worth going out of your way for.
