Snooty and unwelcoming. I had just graduated from college and my family flew in from various states. We wanted a good meal and saw a pamphlet in the hotel lobby for this restaurant. I called in the morning only to receive a voicemail. Neither the voicemail or the pamphlet stated anything about reservations or a dress code (I also was on the website). Since this was an exciting day for me I bought all my family members t-shirts from my college to wear to dinner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with disdain. The hostess wanted nothing to do with us and quickly stated they were full, even though tables were empty. It was 4 PM on a Saturday hardly the busy hour for dinner. She said she could put us outside but it might rain. She clearly did not want us there. I explained I called and there was nothing stating a reservation was needed. This is a shame for the server because my parents tip about 40% of the bill. We never even had a chance to sit down. I will say the food smelled good, but unfortunately the atmosphere wreaked of rotten eggs. We went to Copperhead Grill instead and had amazing service and food!

Honestly, I'm surprised to ever see any less than stellar reviews on this place. I am picky as hell and used to my big city, Michelin-star eating ways and I adore this place. Every time I come back out to ye ol' hometown area for the past few years, I go to eat here at least once with my mom. As I stated in my original review, I had low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. For the most part, we've gone during quiet, down hours - only maybe twice we went during a peak time - and it's never let us down. We went again today for my mom's birthday. I really can't believe we always get such good seafood stuff here (my very first meal years ago was a monkfish special). Every single time, including today, the service has been wonderful and the food has been absolutely consistent every time. Always delicious. This afternoon was no exception.

Quakertown is a quaint little town that the wife and I finally made time to visit. On our agenda was the Quakertown Farmers market, one additional to -be- named shopping establishment, and a place to eat. After reaching out to the Yelp community, we decided on The Brick Tavern Inn for our food. Arriving at the destination, we found parking to be more then adequate. It had multiple entrances, plenty of space for my truck, and surrounded the building so the walk wasn't far. The building is an old-style colonial that is well decorated. Not too much, but enough to make it look inviting. Once through the door, past the lobby, we approached the hostess stand. She was not readily available and wouldn't be for a few minutes, but I can accept that as a cost of opportunity because she was assisting a much larger group. Once she spotted us and answered her phone, she sat us down at a quiet table in the corner Service was pretty good. Our waiter had done a fantastic job at memorizing the specials of the day, not needing to reference any material. I'd like to go over something at this point, because it is very important to me and plenty of others; beer selection. The beer selection, from the get go, was disappointing. The domestic list was exactly what you'd expect a place to serve in the 90's, before Microbreweries started gaining popularity like wildfire. The Import list was basically 50% additional domestics, or beer that is more domestic then you or I. This is 2015, please stop counting Labatte Blue and Corona as foreign. They offered four rotating seasons, all of which I was less then excited about. Given that, if beer selection is very important to you then you should heavily consider their meager offerings. Moving onto the appetizer and meal. I left both up to warm bodies not my own. The wife selected battered green beans, while I took the waiters advice and ordered the Chicken Oscar. The beans came out in record time and were very tasty. The Chicken Oscar, however, was a complete let down. To elaborate, let's break the meal apart: -The Rice; easily the best part. The rice had flavor, was warm but not burnt, and complimented the meal very well. -The Peas; easily the worst part. The snap peas were rubbery, flavorless and a chore to chew. I left half a portion on my plate because I couldn't choke down any more. I'm not sure how they were prepared, but it tasted like a sauteed in flavorless oil, then dropped onto my plate. -The Chicken; easily the most disappointing part. The feature of the meal, the item in which you order by name, was a huge let down. The chicken itself, presented in three parts, contained one patty with hollandaise sauce, and two bare with the exception of a chunk or two of crab meat. Listen to me here; I am a massive fan of hollandaise sauce and this was bad. This stuff only paired with the snap peas in that they both were bland. I've had more impactful hollandaise sauce at truck-stop diners. Not only was it lacking in flavor, but quantity. There was enough for one patty. The other two remained dry. We finished our meal with an Apple and Walnut pie. Cake. Thing. It was more of a cake, baked in a mug, topped with whipped cream. This was actually quite good, and easily the highlight of the meal. Having said plenty on the meal, I want to mention a few other things. -My Waiter, while very polite and soft spoken, forgot my salad entirely. -Our pepper shaker was broken. Guess who got more pepper then he ever wanted when he tried to sprinkle some on his chicken and peas? This guy! -On the way in/out, they have a section with a framed document. It reads something along the lines that they value your opinion. Just grab one of those handy-dandy Customer Comment Cards, fill out your opinion, and you can be entered in a raffle for a shot at a $25 card. Sweet! Wait. Wait. No, nevermind. There are no comment cards. None. I checked every drawer in the dresser on which this beautifully framed document rested. Nothing. That's what Yelps for, I guess. Finally, I'd like to address price. This place actually has some good deals. My wife's veggie burger and fries clocked in under $9. Unfortunately, the meal I got was $22. It was about $12 too much. Beer prices were about adequate for draft. Given my elaboration above, I can't convince myself to give this place any more then 2 stars. Yeah, 2 seems harsh, but in a world where first world problems make front page news, you must expect excellence from an establishment that prides them-self on their history. If you've been in business this long, and that Chicken meal was any indication of your culinary prowess, then I can only explain your current score as biased by local devotion. If I were to traverse the area again, I would absolutely consider any other eatery over Brick Tavern Inn. According to Yelp there may be other, more deserving places that might be up to snuff.

I love eating outside at this place. I always get a sangria when I go, although I find the glasses a little small (too much ice). I love that they cure their own salmon there and I always get the smoked cured salmon salad. Soooo good. And they accommodate my request for olives which don't come with the salad. My husband gets the hummus salad every time he goes which he really loves. I don't know about their hot meals, but their salads are awesome!

I picked out this restaurant based on reviews. I wasn't disappointed. I'm gluten free which proved to be no problem with many options, too. I had the Ahi Tuna which was good, but I would have preferred it more rare. Portions are huge; The smaller plate would have been perfect. No issues with service. In fact I felt that the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful as well.

Would give 4 and a half stars if possible. Of the main drag in Quakertown is a historic old inn with great food and an awesome staff. Had the oyster po-boy for lunch and it was the best I ever had. The wife and I agree for dinner its got to be the brisket which i will give 5 stars. Great place , but call ahead for reservations, always busy ,a sure sign of good grub.

Loved the french onion soup and cheese ravioli! I'll definitely be coming back. Great service.

Dining outside on a wonderful summer evening on the patio at the Brick Tavern was a true treat. The setting is well maintained, very inviting, and allows visitors to have a dinning experience that is very inviting. The outside patio seems to be in stark contrast to the overall traditional environment inside the Brick Tavern. We were quickly seated for an early Sunday dinner. The waitress explained the specials and took our orders. Overall the service was solid and representative of the overall environment. Our appetizers included soups and salads. These items were prepared as requested. They were fairly standard and straightforward. Although they were nothing to write home about it was nice to have an opening course that is exactly as it was presented in the menu. For an entree we had everything from burgers, to shrimp scampi. The food was presented well, the preparation was spot on, and each member of my party was pleased with what they received. In the end, our meal at the Brick Tavern was good and I would venture back. However, I think I would wait until next spring or summer to enjoy the patio.

The outside terrace seating area in the back of the restuarant is BEAUTIFUL! fans and shades under the pergola, koi pond make a perfect atmosphere. In the winter there are heaters so you can enjoy a cool night too! The food is always out of this world. I usually get the crab cakes, even the Small plate option (one crab cake), along with the rice and veggie is perfectly filling! Wait staff is excellent as well!

I met my aunts and uncles and cousins there who live scattered about PA. and this was a central meeting point....was this ever a great choice! Everyone loved their food....I had the French Onion soup, crab cakes with rice pilaf and asparagus. Delicious, those were the best crab cakes I've had since going to the Georgia shore last year. Real lump crab meat without the fillers....I tasted my mom's creole scallop, also delicious...charming atmosphere and very welcoming, professional staff, we'll be back when passing through again!

In a world where the word restaurant usually means a chain where the quality of the advertising far supasses that of the food, this place is a very welcomed alternative. We have been dining here for years and have always had a great meal with outstanding service for a very fair price. I would rate the staff and service as a 5. The prices as a 4. The entrees as a 4.5. Deserts as a 4. Atmosphere is a 4.5 but really depends on what you like. I am really glad these type of resturants still exist!

Very nice bar to have a drink before dinner. Sat in cozy room with pretty fireplace. Food was very good. Did not give 5 stars because my steak was med-well,, and I usually get med-rare. I was never asked, and I forgot to request how I wanted it done. But it was still tasty...just not perfect. Drinks were very good. I will be back.

It was good. I had the Veal Oscar my husband had the Chicken Parmesan. The veal was overpriced for what you got. My husbands Chicken was bland. Had their Chicken Barley soup, it was underwhelming. Nice atmosphere, however it seems like the type of place that has regulars, so if you are new you're treated like an outsider. Total bill without alcohol was $100. Too pricey for a return visit. I was so hoping for more.

Went for a Valentine's dinner with my husband. Was surprised that there was live music, which was nice. I had the clams casino for app and the broiled seafood trio. All was cooked perfectly and really yummy, found myself scraping up all the little bits that are left on the plate. Also opted for the soup, which was a yummy chicken vegetable, tasted fresh and home-made. My husband had the ahi tuna app and crab cakes and also cleaned his plates. For dessert we shared the brownie sundae, sooo good! It's a little old fashioned in an overt way, but the food was great and the service was good, felt like a family place.

Wonderful Sunday lunch with the family. Outdoor seating a big plus. Good sandwiches for lunch and a nice craft brew selection. Service was prompt and attentive.

I've been here many times with family and friends and we have always had good food and good service. The dinners are great. If you can have lunch on the outdoor porch in good weather, you're sure to enjoy it. This is one place that I like to take friends from out of town.

Fantastic in every sense of the word: quality, service, ambiance, entertainment. We stopped in this evening for dinner after exploring some restaurants in the Quakertown area to dine at. One word sums up this location: COZY. It's an upscale restaurant, a high class experience, without the "stuffiness" of a high end establishment. As you look around, you'll see many customers in casual outfits even though the decor of the establishment is elegant. Be sure to book reservation before visiting, it was very busy when we first arrived. However, the wait time wasn't unbearable. There is a small bar on property, as you'd expect from the name of the business. They have a selection of approximately 12 draft beers, a solid wine list, and signature cocktails. When you get a wine & beverage list, be sure to turn to the last page for their signature drinks (I'd advise that they put their signature cocktails on the first page, so they get better advertising). Their markup on wines is lower than many restaurants we've visited of similar quality. We started at the bar and the hostess made a smooth transition of our bar check to our table. After seated at our table, our waitress Lisa was attentive to our needs and quickly refilled our beverages. The service was pleasant and prompt. My girlfriend had the escargot as an appetizer, one of her favorites. It was cooked perfectly and not overdone. Her only recommendation is that they take it off the "specials" menu and make it a regular appetizer. When having a salad, be sure to get the house Champagne vinegarette salad dressing. It compliments the salad perfectly. They also serve warm rolls at the table, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Being we need to find something to be picky about, the butter for the rolls wasn't at room temperature, but that's a small price to pay for a wonderful night out. For dinner, we had the duck breast and the chicken oscar. Both dishes were delicious and cooked perfectly. We both highly recommend them. The preparation and presentation shows the strong quality of the food at this business. In addition to the quality food and service, they had a piano player, Gino on site playing songs for diners. He engaged us and played several requests after we were done with our dinner. The music added to our enjoyment of dinner and our after dinner cocktails and coffee. Overall, the experience doesn't get much better for dining out, we will certainly return. Be sure to stop by if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

Chose this Inn based on other positive reviews and I was not disappointed. Food excellent, great beer on tap selection and great service.

Nice experience here. Bright, clean, a little old school on the interior, modern menu, good portions, good prices. We stuck to sandwiches, apps, and iced teas. Party of two for less than $40 on a Friday night. Good job!

The one time I ate there and the only time, our waitress was terrible, and a booger went in to my soup! No joke

Quaint establishment with solidly delicious food. The smoked trout salad is divine and arranged rather artfully. The brisket is only rivaled by my brisket-diva friend (her brisket is tender, flavorful). Their mushroom bisque is extraordinary for the rich consistency and subtle flavors. Never tried any desserts. The drinks are generous. I've been here twice and both times the service was adequate--friendly, not overly prompt, thoughtful. Would I go again? Absolutely. There are very few places where you can count on quality, presentation and service as a reliable factor. Brick Tavern is one of those places.

Good food, great drinks and good service. We had Thanksgiving dinner for four, and had a good experience except for not having any cranberry sauce .

Decided on the Brick Tavern Inn as a meet-in-the-middle point for a Saturday lunch with family friends. Great find! Once we found it anyway...almost blew right by it since it's fairly innocuous, but was delighted with it once we went in. Lovely decor and a very friendly staff. Boyfriend and I sat at the bar for a drink while we waited for our dining companions to arrive. You can tell it's a locals place due to the intimacy with which the bartender was speaking with the clientele sitting around the bar. Not a terrible draught selection -- I had a Boddington's and boyfriend got the Dogfish 60 Minute. Was also delighted to see Weyerbacher and Victory on tap. The menu has a lot to offer all at great prices. I ordered the Tomato & Smoked Mozzarella Salad (Sliced plum tomatoes, smoked mozzarella, artichokes, roasted peppers, with balsamic vinegar and olive oil) -- YUM! Boyfriend got the Mushroom Bisque -- DOUBLE YUM! Others in our party got the French Onion Soup, Hummus platter, and the Tuna Melt - all of which they enjoyed. Feeling pretty good about eating a salad, I shared some dessert with boyfriend - a deliciously decadent chocolate lava cake a la mode. Very rich and very delicious. Also had a tasty cappuccino. Great place that i do hope to return to, despite being somewhat out of the way. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great prices. Definitely recommend.

From what I've been told the Brick Tavern Inn has had a few changes in management and/or ownership in recent history and it was because of this I decided to try it in its current incarnation. The food was good and the server was very accomodating about us sharing a number of dishes. The potstickers were great, good filling and a nice dipping sauce, steamed not fried. Some shared the smoked trout which I tasted and they seemed to think it was good-not-great. Chicken caesar wrap was a nice size for lunch, not huge and overfilled. Split the chocolate cheesecake for dessert, very nice crust and good overall flavor. The reason I give it three stars instead of four are it kind of falls flat on decor, rustic is fine and in some cases great but it just seemed dated. The most important thing is the food but certain kinds of datedness just make me sad. Bring a sweatshirt, very well air conditioned!

Great place. I love the outside patio. Service was great and the food was very good.

Walked in with high expectations and boy, were we let down. It took over an hour for us to get our entrees and not once during that hour did the waitress show her face to check in on our drinks (which were empty after the first 20 mins). Then one of my dining companions ordered a steak medium well, when she finally got her meal it was practically 'raw' - not even close to rare. We sent that back and had to wait another 40 minutes for her replacement meal - chicken to come out, which they then tried to charge me full price for. After waiting an hour for our food, we thought maybe it would have been worth the wait. Wrong. My chicken parm was no better than what I've had at Perkins. The others remarked that their food was average at best, as well.
