CHINESE TAKE-OUT (I went back and put this first in large letters because the name doesn't include the kind of restaurant it is.) Whenever I am in Quakertown or just passing through on my way home from Costco, I always stop off at my favorite Chinese food take-out place. This little gem is located just off Rt 309, behind Starbucks, next to Michaels in Quakertown. Incredibly good Chinese food, rivals the best I get in NYC. Owned and operated by Chinese people, who also do the cooking. It takes about 15 minutes for them to cook your food for you after you order, so the food is always freshly prepared. The pork fried rice is rich and delicious, and comes with the combination lunch/dinners. They use no MSG, and the food always tastes very fresh. I've tried most of the soups, and they are delicious - full of flavor sometimes lacking at other places I've tried. I prefer the spring rolls over the egg rolls, more delicate wrapping. I usually get two meals out of one order as the portions are quite large. I often get hot & sour soup and add my own brown rice at home for another light meal. So for $10, I end up with 3 very delicious meals. The prices are comparable to other Chinese take-out places in the area, but the food is so good that I don't mind if I arrive too late for the lower lunch prices and have to pay the higher dinner prices :-) I found out about this place when I was in the Quakerotwn library complaining about the lack of good restaurants in that town. Another patron told me that the best-kept secret in town was this fantastic Chinese take-out place hidden away next to Michael's Craft Store. And she was so right - this is way above average Chinese food at ridiculously low prices. If you are ever in the area, give it a try. I should mention that it is take-out and cash only. No matter how fussy you are about the taste and quality of Chinese food, I think you find this place is so-o-o good!

The family was out at a restaurant I didn't feel like going to so I went to Yelp, heaping praise upon it in hopes that it would favor me with a recommendation. I bowed down in front of my computer and prostrate I called out, "oh great and powerful Yelp, reveal your secrets to me so that my wallet might empty and my waist might expand." Its answer? Best Food In Town. Now for greasy spoon Chinese places I don't set my hopes very high but my meal was such a disappointment I threw more than half of it out. I ordered the curry chicken combination, figuring I needed to try something other than General Tso's for a change. I will grant that the woman working the counter was very friendly and she took my order after taking care of a few other people. I waited a little while, got it, and took it home. What I ordered was curry chicken, what I got was some gooey vaguely curry flavored sauce containing mostly onions, water chestnuts, a few snow peas and carrot bits (these two I actually like) with 5 or 6 small pieces of chicken. I checked the menu to make sure it wasn't "curry chicken with vegetables" there was so much onion but no, it was just "curry chicken". The pork fried rice was passable, the egg roll was mostly flavorless. I don't know what went wrong. Did I forget to make a sacrifice? Was the incense I burned of an unpleasing scent? I may go back to try something more tried and true (General Tso's) and when I do if it's better I'll be sure to update my review but for now I think the best kept secret would be best kept a secret.

Absolutely the best Chinese food in the area. My family and I have been ordering from here for about 9 years, and I've always loved my food. It's definitely a takeout place, there are two tables in the place, but you wouldn't really want to eat there, the kitchen is open to the rest of the room and it's quite loud. Think of it more like a lobby for good pickup. The people who run it are very nice, and will remember you after you've come back several times. The service is quick (usually about 15-20 minutes). They only take cash though, so that's sometime to keep in mind for payment. Seriously, the absolute best Chinese food I've had outside of NYC. EDIT (6/25): my apologies that Robert W. feels that I am a fake reviewer, I am absolutely real. I live in Quakertown normally, but my family and I were on vacation in FL when I posted my review for "Best Food." Apparently my liking food that he did not personally offended him, we all have different tastes!

Chinese take out. We have yet to be disappointed. Consistently good food and by far the best in Upper Bucks. My favorite is the Gen Tso Chicken.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
