My family and I just had the BEST time at Casa de Tellez. I love Mexican food, and the hubby likes steaks, so you really can't beat this place for a perfect compromise. I'm so indecisive, so I went with #24--the combo meal which came with their signature queso soup, rice and beans, a taco, enchilada, chimichanga, tostado, and a burrito. The beef is ground and prepped on site. All tortillas are homemade. Everything is so fresh. My husband had a New York strip which was prepared perfectly. We asked about the sauce underneath the steak and were told it's a secret recipe. Love. We ended with fried ice cream and a cherry empanada. Last piece of advice--don't skip the margaritas! Tangy, sweet, salty, and strong. Vintage-kitschy atmosphere (that's a compliment), reasonable prices, friendly staff, welcoming to kids--we will definitely be back!

One of the best places for a steak in the county. The cheese soup will leave you begging for more. I go here several times a year and have never been disappointed. The steaks are some of the best in the area and are so good I've never ordered a Mexican entree. And they do look good! The margaritas are also excellent be sure to try one. The steaks are served in a small pan that sits in a wooden holder. The steak comes out in a shallow pool of steak sauce/au jus. It's not a thick sauce like A1, nor is the taste as heavy. I didn't get it when I first saw it but now love it! Personally I am shocked there aren't more positive reviews for this place. You would think there are tons given how packed it is weekend nights. Give it a shot if you are in town. Trust the lack of parking and the 2 reviewers with over 150 reviews between them...Not the 2 1 star reviews with 8 reviews to their name.

Best Margaritas!!!!!! The soup is also fantastic! We had the Chimichangas. The food is good but a little pricey for the portions you get. The fried ice cream wasn't that great either. It's a nice atmosphere if your looking for something quite and a little romantic for a date, but not really a place for kids. Will definitely go again to try something new and have more Margaritas!!!!

First off, the margaritas were awesome. Bottom line - if a heart wing had Mexican Night, this would be it- NO seasoning on the meat in the tacos or the beans. Completely bland. Our waitress was rude and paid no attention to us. And, she took 4 of the 6 orders and then said "I'll be back in a minute." She brought a couple of orders out and gave someone their check, then returned without any type of explanation or apology. Surreal. The atmosphere is dingy and the lights are covered in dust. My wife worked here 28 years ago, and she said it was packed. Now, it's almost empty on a Saturday night, and understandably so. Oh, the prices are outrageous for what you get!

Quite good Mexican food, despite not being super authentic. The soup is fantastic, the chips are homemade and the ambiance is nice. I hear fantastic things about the steak, though I've never ordered it. Casa has a fairly wide selection of Mexican dishes, but I particularly like the enchiladas. Yum!

Avoid this place, I can sadly say at one time it was my favorite restaurant growing up and it has gone down hill fast. Food quality is poor and prices are higher than any comparable restaurant in the area. The owner is trying to sell the restaurant and seems to be trying to milk every dollar from their customers while reducing the quality of food and service at the same time.
