Good beer selection, friendly staff, chicken fingers slightly too crunchy, but that's a matter of personal preference i guess. The hot sauce makes it all worthwhile though!

Just not feeling the location any longer. Wait times have gotten worst and the food just isn't worth the wait. The walk to the bathroom especially when its busy is just terrible especially if you have a young one. You have to walk past servers and other patrons like it is a DMV line and when you get to the bathrooms you feel dirty. They need to be scrubbed and remodeled at this point. Most recent visit it was busy but to sit for a solid 15 minutes and not get a drink order? I packed everyone up and left. Must say the two young kids doing teh seating made sure my bnoy had crayons.

Good beer + good food. What more could you ask for? We popped by on a Saturday night and didn't have much trouble getting a seat. Our foursome shared two apps - the egg rolls and the fried pickles - and they were both good. For the mains, there were 2 paninis, a burger and a salad. Everyone was happy with their orders. The decor here was a bit surprising. It was more country diner rather than brew pub. It isn't a big deal, but as we left, we all made a comment about it.

I heart brewpubs! Made it a point to stop here during our excursion out to Phoenixville. I was actually surprised it was located with a strip mall. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather! I'm glad we did because honestly the inside of the building looked pretty dumpy and to get to the restrooms, you had to pass through part of the kitchen. Let's see if I can remember all the beers I tried in my flight - Abbey, Grand Cru, Lager, Rauch, Weisse, and Saison. My favorite was the Saison, then the Abbey. The Rauch was really interesting with its noticeable smokey flavor! The Cru and Weisse were good too, I wasn't a fan of the Lager. It was just... a lager, lol. The beers were very refreshing and a great way to enjoy our Saturday! For food, we got some chips for the table (that bucket was tiny) and I got the pretzel burger which was very yummy, I always love pretzel rolls! Service was meh but it was due to the fact that they had an entire banquet room filled with a party and another 20-top table in addition to that. Didn't seem like they had enough servers on to cover the large parties. Our server was obviously struggling, but we knew it really wasn't her fault. My friend and I had ordered sweet potato fries but got regular fries instead. We didn't want to bother getting them changed out due to how busy it was, as long as we weren't charged for the fries we didn't get (and we weren't, so they just weren't ever rung in). Took forever to pay because our server kept disappearing - again, due to the massive parties inside. Our server was very nice and friendly, we really enjoyed her. Just not enough staff to handle the large parties.

Inside a nondescript strip mall. Open interior with little to no decor or theme. Open seating, medium to smaller size bar. They allow tasting flights which is nice. Some of their specialties were available in 750mL c&c to go and for consumption inside. Their pilsners are superb and much better fresh on tap than in cans. The Standard Pils we had the day we visited was absolutely amazing and I hope they continue to offer that one. Had some snack food here but there is a full menu of burgers and such I did not sample. Menu looked like 3-stars food wise. Family friendly. Was not very crowded when we went.

My housband and I usually go to the one in Pottstown and love the atmosphere and the food. We were so excited to leard that there was one in Phoenixville. Only a few minutes from our house in Collegeville. Disappointed , the atmosphere was not anyware near the Pootstown local. This is more like a restaurant. The menu is not the same either. I ordered the lamb burger nd it was overcooked. My housband ordered jerk chicken wings and they were bland. The beer was good though. Next time we are going to Pottstown even if its further.

After an issue with a faulty can, Sly Fox rep Ally jumped right on the situation to make it right. Sly Fox is always a go-to beer for me, especially at the pool or beach since their brews all come in cans. Thanks for the excellent service Sly Fox!

3 stars due to beer quality only. Bartenders kinds blah but good black raspberry reserve...food ok..empanadas could have been seasoned better and side sauce did not complement dish. French onion had strange sweetness ( stout beer input? ) to it and lacked that salty luster.

Eaten here twice. Nice variety of food. They seem to make all of it there which is always awesome. The sweet potato fries are AMAZING. I know that's an odd thing to enjoy so much but most companies get sweet potato fries from 1 distributor and sly fox does not get them from there, they seem to be made there and they are amazing. Pretzel bun burger is good, pizza burger special is good. Fish tacos were a bit different but decent. Sampler appetizer is great for a few people. Mozzarella cheese wedges are yummy, onion rings are spot on. Saw some else with soup and a sandwich that looked great too. Bartenders seems knowledgable of beers but servers seem to be lacking a bit. All are nice and courteous though.

Been to this location a handful of times and the best thing about it is the beer. The food is decent, although I really like their fish and chips, everything else I've ordered has just been okay...nothing really memorable. The bartenders are much more friendly and knowledgable about their beers than the waitstaff is but that's just been my experience. The reason my boyfriend and I keep returning is because of their beer and growler refills. They have a 6 5-oz sampler which we often get and the majority of their growlers are $8-$9 to fill. Overall, not a bad location but some things could be improved upon.

Our server was Brenda- what a cool lady! so nice and interesting. the food was standard bar food. the beer was great! I didn't live sly fox beers before I came here and tried some of the more obscure ones. highlight though- definitely a cool summer night on the veranda chatting with Brenda and sipping good, weird beers.

Phoenixville now has a pretty good restaurant scene, so there are a lot of better places to eat, especially if looking for something healthy and good. A place that marks their Nachos and Bucket of Chips as "Vegetarian"??? A vegetarian won't feel the love here! Sweet potato fries and onion rings were pretty tasty, but the Peace Wrap is a distant memory. They do have outside tables, so that's a plus.

The service was very good and it wasn't hard to find a table on a Friday night but I didn't like the food at all! I had the doc'a salad and the portion was very small so I basically paid 10 dollars for a small bowl of lettuce. Not sure about the beer but I wasn't a fan of the food.

Tried this place for the first time after years of hearing good things. Chicken marsala was amazing. Service was quick, friendly, and overall terrific. The beer selection is unmatched in the area. I'll be repeating.

We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped by Sly Fox on a Saturday night. We hadnt planned to go there but when other plans fell through we thought we would give it a try. We sat outdoors on their patio and had a wonderful waiter who made sure our drinks were never empty (including free refills of a coke and iced tea). The food was delicious. We had nachos and wings. A couple of our group also had burgers. They were perfectly cooked medium rare and juicy and delicious. We plan on returning with other friends to share our find. Thanks Sly Fox for a very enjoyable evening.

Great selection of pub food and awesome beers. It's not a huge place, so sometimes there might be a wait. That's fine for me because I'll grab a beer at the bar. They typically have a their staples and a few new beers every time I come in. Beer is fantastic. I highly recommend taking some of their cans or a growler to go.

Cool place, OK food, good beer. I actually really like Sly Fox. However, my girlfriend and I went there and they charged her credit card $35 whereas she had only tipped up to a total of $34. WTF? Maybe just a mistake - who knows? Trying to make an additional buck on a bill does seem pretty cheap. Should we call them and try to sort things out? With all the other things to do in life, fighting for $1 isn't worth it. But it does leave us with a feeling of having been screwed... Not cool.

Came here last weekend for a lunch and to watch some college football. Was really disappointed with food and beer. My wings were just about inedible bc they were so over cooked and dry sent them back and ordered a sandwhich instead which was a little better. Their food is not homeade everything looked like it was for a cafateria. My friend ordered a burger and he said it was also overcooked also. Beer was just ok, seasonals were good but nothing that great. All in all i would not come back or recommend.

Nice brewpub located in a strip mall on Rt 113 in Phoenixville.Casual atmosphere; good service. Beers are consistently good; some better than others. Their annual Christmas celebration(usually held on 1st Fri. in December) is always a fun event. Features 20+ beers; many rare ones. Favorites include Ichor Quad,Raspberry, Xmas, Saison Vos, London Calling Porter, 18th Anniversary IPA.There is a style for everyone here! Also one of the 1st local breweries to use cans. Food is very nice; I really loved my chicken gyro w/ sweet potato fries. Well worth the trek from Philly. If you're in the area check it out!

There are a lot of chain microbreweries in the area, including Iron Hill, Rock Bottom, etc. I'm sorry, but I have to put this one at the bottom of the list. The service was no more than polite, and the bartender was not friendly. I always try to talk it up with the staff, but he wasn't buying it. He was, however, more friendly with the regulars. Strike two. I can understand if the bartender is having a bad day, but he wasn't. The brewery is in a strip mall and so the exterior is plain, but so is the interior. Not a big deal but don't look for ambience here. I ate lunch here and have already forgotten which beer i ordered, but I believe it was a "favorite." I did not care for it at all. Off-flavors and kind of watery. The sandwich was a rib eye steak special open face southwestern style. What I got was a giant pita spread flat to look like a pizza with the stuff on top. Lots of lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and a bit of rib eye that had quite a few fatty tough bits. It was more like a salad than a sandwich, and most of the volume was in the bread and the lettuce. Flavor was passable, there was some kid of orange mayonnaisey thing on top.

I have enjoyed most of Sly Fox's brews that I have tried. Especially their Weiss. The restaurant looks sort of like a neighborhood Friendly's a little bit, in fact if you couldn't see the big metal vats in the back, I would have assumed that I went to the wrong place. The food was okay, nothing really special. I tried the wings and the friend pickles. The wings were pretty good, and fried pickles are starting to grow on me. There didn't seem to be anything particularly stand out on the menu, but I'm sure I'll be back to try some more, as my brother now lives nearby.

The food is great and the beer is better. In bucolic (ha) Phoenixville lies the underrated local brewery know as Sly Fox. Sure everyone knows Victory and Yards etc but this little brewery in a strip mall is what you could call a hidden gem. Mcany different brewing styles from the German Hells and Pils to the Begian Saison Vos to the IPAs we all know and love. A tour of the craft breweries in the Philly area would not be complete without a visit to the Fox. Also growler fills on Wednesdays ar only $6.

Good beer and great food - we really enjoy taking friends to Sly Fox or just going by ourselves. On a nice day we love sitting outside or inside to watch a game. The french fries are addictive, both regular and sweet potatoes. Not a huge fan of their salads, but all of the sandwiches and appetizers are wonderful. Our first time there we met the owner and his family - all great people and very down-to-earth. Made us love the place even more. Lots of friendly people, good service, great food, and of course wonderful beer!

I recently stopped at Sly Fox to get a growler filled. When I got home and poured the first glass, I realized that the growler had been filled incorrectly with water. I called them and they were awesome about the whole thing - they even sent me a $25 gift card in the mail! I already loved this place for the good beer and food, but this just made me love them even more (even if I was bummed about not having a growler full of Christmas Ale at the time)! PS. If you find yourself there when they have the Christmas Ale on tap, try a "half and half/black & tan" with the Christmas Ale & O'Reilly's Stout (which is arguably BETTER than Guinness)! PPS. I've been here several times lately with LARGE groups and they've handled us like champs every time!

Really like their Pilsner. Service is excellent. Great bartenders that remember both your name and your favorite drink. It's my go to place in Phoenixville. Plus, unlike Phoenixville, free parking. I avoid the places in Phoenixville just on principle. Why pay for parking when I can get a better meal and beer at the Sly Fox.

Really a 2.5 stars kind of place. Decent beer at a reasonable price. Mediocre food at best. Stop in for a cold one - especially in their outdoor seating area. Make sure to take a growler with you too. I had a chicken gyro which was anything but a chicken gyro. I was disappointed but hey I was there for the beer.

Good beers with a great variety of offerings. Food is ok. Nothing we had was anything special. Chicken jerk sandwich, roast beef. French onion soup. 4 stars for beer, 2 1/2 for food.

Great atmosphere! Perfect for eat in or take out. I enjoy their fish n' chips, sweet potato fries, burgers, and Mac n' Cheese. The staff is always friendly and it is never too crazy busy that you feel like your packed in like a bunch of sardines.

WOW! Great beer. I had four different beers and they were all fantastic. This is a good example of how you don't need a heavy stout or ultra-bitter IPA to enjoy a great beer. Food was excellent. I had the tilapia. Fresh flavor, not too heavy on the cream sauce. Service was excellent. Had dinner at the bar, my glass was never empty.

Great food and beers. Kid friendly too! Best deal on kids meals around, free ice cream. This place is great for parents with their original menu and the kids are taken care of as well. Scott does a great job and has been there since before I started going over 14 years ago! We are lucky that Sly Fox has kept Phoenixville their home.

  • Andrew M.

Everything we had was excellent. The beer was great with a decent selection and for pub food everyone at our table was pleased with their meals. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the servers were more busy texting than doing their jobs. Maybe I am just getting old and should expect to have to wait for people to finish texting before I get service anywhere anymore. But if management could explain to their employees what they are getting paid and tips for while they are at work that would be nice.

Here is just a list of things I did not like about the Sly Fox. I went their with my boyfriend today for a late lunch, and it was nothing but a disaster: For one, there is no clear sign upon entering whether or not to seat yourself, so we were forced to stand their awkwardly for a minute. The greeter wasn't very friendly and was dressed like a slob. I ordered a wrap and asked for them to hold the onions and cheese, but they brought it to me with those two things in it! It was also quite small for $9! I was supposed to get crinkle cut fries with sea salt and my boyfriend was going to have the beer battered fries, but the menu hadn't been updated so they brought us both the beer battered ones, which I could not eat because I'm vegan and they are made with eggs and milk! I didn't realize their mistake until I already begun eating them! They only give one napkin, even with messy foods like my boyfriend's juicy burger. The back of his chair was broken, so he had to switch chairs. The ketchup bottle on the table was empty before we even started using it for the french fries. The bathroom is oddly located. I had to walk past the kitchen and an office to get there. Not to mention, the sign pointing to where the restrooms are looked like it was just printed off someone's computer.

Nice brewery. I enjoyed watching them fill growlers with the vacuum machine. I got the flight and it was reasonably priced. Perogies were good.

Most of their customers go for the beer. If the rating was based only on food than Sly Fox ratings would be much lower. I ordered the greek turkey burger. The burger had absolutely no flavor at all. The small amount of tzatziki sauce was very bland. It didn't have any crumbled feta and hardly any cucumber. They do provide outdoor seating, but it's more like a closed in white box. It's a tall white plastic wall that has a height of 6 ft or more, so you can't even look out or take in a nice fall breeze. It pretty much prevents you from feeling outdoors! It doesn't make sense.

I want to move into this place. I mean, it has foxes everywhere. Which makes me happy. The place is open, well lit, and clean. A nice local place with a really great amount of really yummy beers. I'm addicted to the Royal Weisse after trying it in Philly and came just because of my love of that. They have a great selection and my husband I both liked the beers, which isn't always easy since we're pretty specific in what we like. I only tried the pretzels as we came midday - they weren't special and I wouldn't get them again, so I can't really review the food here. I just liked the beer, the nice people and service, and all the foxes a lot.

Decided with all the brew pubs about we would try yet another since we had heard the food as well as the beer was good. Tuesday night at 6:00 and the place was 3/4 empty but chalked it up to the cold. decor =3 out of 10 sly fox swag = 9 out of 10 beer = 8 out of 10 Staff was less than happy to be working and blamed lack of customers as to why they were off their game tonight since when I ordered a sprite I got a glass of water. Ordered some basics Home-style Fried Chicken Fingers and Buffalo wings. Wings were fine only a 10 ct for 11 dollars and they were average in size. Chicken Fingers were not homestyle in anyway and were not hand braded or battered but straight from the freezer bag. They were cooked well but again flavor was average. Onto the Entrees...Chorizo sandwich...fries again were frozen cand had a coating, Chorizo was not spicy at all and was actually cut into bite size chunks in the bun making it hard to eat and pieces kept falling out. Prime Rib cubes over noodles with gravy also graced the table...If you are going to cube prime rib you really should remove the large fat cubes, sigh they did not, noodles were over cooked and light on gravy. More was requested and no it was not homemade. The plus was it was not overly salty but it wasn't overly anything else either. I was left feeling MEH not in a rush to return anytime soon but it won't kill you. Kinda applebees with better beer and less salt On the plus the beer prices were reasonable and growler prices were also affordable. Grab the beer and run is my best recommendation here or pick up a six.

Sly Fox is a favorite! Since I recently moved to Phoenixville, Sly Fox has been my go-to place almost every week. First the beer! Sly Fox is a small craft brewery that has gained a recognizable following both locally and nationally. You can get a 22 Oz beer for no more than $6 or a flight of eight 5 Oz beers for $8.00. They most recently have had a few Hop Projects (IPA) on tap and every time they have been delicious. Second the Food! The menu is both eclectic and good. I would suggest the burgers as they are delicious and can be served on a pretzel roll. The wings are awesome and they offer $1 tacos, 1/2 price wings and discounted drafts on Sunday (football lovers rejoice)! They also offer some vegetarian and heart healthy dishes that are pretty good. Third- Service! The service in this place is great. Servers are prompt and friendly. Nothing more and nothing less Fourth the Atmosphere! This place is conveniently located off of rt 113 right next to the Planet Fitness. I love the fox-themed interior and really enjoy the outdoor seating. All in all it is a great place....if your looking for some crazy american cuisine, this is not the place. It's a bar, with good bar food and great beer. I gave this place 5 stars because I honestly have never had a bad time and always enjoy going.

My girlfriend and I were dying to make it back here to try their food. During our first visit, we ate before stopping in. First, I'll start with the beer. Overall, Sly Fox has built a great name for itself. We had no disappointment with their product and they offer an excellent selection for almost any palate. Their menu is well set up to maintain a fresh selection of ingredients (fresh cut meats, homemade spicy honey mustard, fresh ingredients). They also tout vegetarian and heart healthy selections for their customers. We recommend the French onion soup, pretzel melt, and Greek turkey burger. However, the mac and cheese is more a soup than a mac and cheese dish. We also didn't care much for their homemade salsa, which was low on flavor containing mostly tomato and onions with few other ingredients we could find. Unfortunately, this experience wasn't as good as we thought it would be primarily based on service. We were seated quickly when we entered the restaurant, but were ignored by most of the wait staff for nearly 20 minutes after seating. And saw 2 of the wait staff walk by our table multiple times without raising awareness to the lack of attention. I can speculate that this was caused by poor table assignments, a lack of communication, or general apathy among the wait staff, but the result was no drink order placed for a long time after seating. In fact, we had enough time to order our entrees and appetizers at the same time as we placed our initial drink order. On the bright side, our first round of drinks were taken off our bill due to the long wait by our server, who seemed to be feverishly serving the dining room while also trying to give attention to our table in the bar area. With three servers on staff, it seemed like our server was handing a disproportionate number of tables during our visit, which can be caused by multiple variables in the dining experience but can be planned around. We visit Phoenixville frequently. Based on this experience, we will continue to visit more locations in downtown before taking the option to visit Sly Fox in the future.

Late dinner on the patio. There was a party inside and they didnt appear to be staffed for it. Pace of meal was slow. I'm a fan of their beers which certainly influenced our deciding to eat there. Table split pickle spears app. They were pretty good, generous portion. Meals were fajitas, bacon cheeseburger and pretzel melt. No complaints, nothing bad but no all stars out of the kitchen either. All in all a good experience, which gets you 3 stars. If you're a fan of their beer then its certainly worth a try.

I had a groupon there that was about to expire. My teenage sister had the day off from school so we went in for lunch. I didn't try the beer since it was a Friday and I was going back to work. I was expecting the inside to look a little nicer, sleeker, maybe. I've gone to Iron Hill and Rock Bottom nearby and they are a bit nicer on the inside. My groupon included one appetizer and two entrees. Since I was with a teen who happens to have the worst palate we got the mozzarella sticks. They were good, but really how do you mess that up? I ordered the Chicken Gyro. I was impressed with the sandwich. It was large and the tszaki sauce was good. The service was great, she was very friendly and service went very smoothly. I was a little surprised it wasn't busier for a Friday lunch but it is a little off the beaten path. I may return with some people over the age of 21 and try some beers. Overall, not a bad experience, but I was expecting a better aesthetic for a brewery.

I decided to make a trip to Slyfox last night because I saw their good reviews here on yelp, and I probably should have chosen a different place to go to in Phoenixville. 1) decor- To start up, this location has an awkward setup right as you walk in the door. The designers were really thinking when they put the hostess stand 5 feet from the door. I had to dodge other customers and the staff running food through that little pass. Overall, the decor was not memorable. 2) service- this is where Slyfox really shined. The service was impeccable throughout the night. We had to wait for a table, so when we turned towards the bar to get a beer, the bartender flagged us down and cleaned a spot for us. Throughout the night the service was incredible. 3) Food- I am have trouble trying to figure out where to start. For my appetizer I decided to try the fried pickle spears which were good, however, over fried. For my entree I ordered the pretzel burger with sweet potato fries. Once my brain caught up to what I was eating I decided to take the burger apart and try each component. The pretzel bun was awesome, the sauce was okay, the onion rings were good, But the burger......oh the burger. 4) *special 4th category* The Burger- something is not right with their burgers. I'd expect a better beef patty from a fast food burger restaurant. Go to the beach, take a handful of wet sand, but It in your hand, and watch it dry out. What happens? It falls apart. The burger patty literally disintegrates, which hides the fact that the burger has a bad taste to it. So like I said, whether its sanitation problems, food handling problems or just a bad recipe, that burger was one of the worst I've had. Come to think of it, two gentlemen ordered burgers next to me and each one only took a bite or two out of their burgers. So it was obviously not just mine. Burgers are supposed to be thick, moist, flavorful, and melt in your mouth. Overall- unlike most people, I update my reviews after a second visit, and I plan on making a trip to their Pottstown location to see if the food is more up to par at that location which I now read that it is. This location has good people, ehh decor, and blah food.

We were out this way so we looked for some interesting beer restaurants. The sly fox is in a strip center is I wasn't expecting much. Very busy so that was a good sign. Husband had the route 113 IPA and really enjoyed it. The only wine is chadds ford winery and it was good and at a good price. We split the burger on a pretzel roll. Very good! Good beef and the roll was fabulous! He had a cup of corn chowder and I had some wonderful steamed clams. So very nice and worth the trip.

I visited this place on a busy Sunday afternoon during March Madness. The place was pretty packed and loud but I still got a table right away even though it was close to the bar. I had their wings, chicken cordon blue entree and a few beers. Everything was excellent. The wings were large and had a nice flavorful buffalo sauce. They were also half price because of a Sunday special. The entree was only decent. The chicken was kind of dry but other than that no complaints. Lastly there was the beer. I can't say anything bad about the variety I chose. They were all great. The service itself was also pretty good. My waitress made sure my beer glass was never empty. I don't have any major complaints. Keep up the good work. I will definitely be back.

A great place to enjoy some hand crafted beer and good food. It will never be confused with the resurrection of Le Bec Fin but a solid brew pub. We split our beer choices. I chose the IPA and was not disappointed. It had a balanced malt and a spicy hop finish. We followed with wings. Buffalo and Garlic Parma in the mix. The wings were well coated and fried to exterior crunch. Solid flavors from both sauces. I had the pulled pork sandwich. When it came without extra sauce I was concerned. The first bite left that thought in the dirt. A strong smoke flavor with the perfect mix of homemade sauce. The red cabbage slaw on top provided great textural contrast. Bar food, good beer, you cannot go wrong here.

Very good variety of beers; the few times I've been here they've had a wide variety of beers on tap. They also have their beers available in bottles. Very good quality beers, their stouts & porters are very good. Another plus is their relatively inexpensive growler fills. Food - a hearty plus is a good variety of vegetarian options, and which are pointed out on the menu. Wings are very good - their "spiciest" wings were pretty spicy, but, ummm, I've had spicier wings..... Good variety of different sauces for the wings, bbq, jamaican, etc. Fun to get several "single" orders & share and compare them. The service the last few times was good, but the most recent time went a little downhill. After we ordered, the waitress sorta..........disappeared. So minus a star for that. Other than that, a great place to go.

In a nutshell, go for the beer but not the food. Great tasting beer but my synopsis of food is--stale bread that was baked to hide that, crispy chicken hoagie was not crispy at all with hardly any buffalo sauce, fries were good hot and fresh, burger was well done despite ordering it medium rare, and they don't offer the nice cheese sauce that made their nachos great anymore. Staff kind of lazy, if you are not ordering beer they kind of ignore you needing another drink and they hang around a lot instead of looking for things to do like clearing plates, etc. prob not going again. Lettuce and tomato on the sandwiches were flimsy and awful!

I tried my first Sly Fox beer at the Vincentown Diner and have been curious to try more ever since. Phoenixville is kind of a schlep from where we live in NJ, but I was determined to take the plunge this past weekend. This Sly Fox location is situated in an unassuming strip mall. There is plenty of parking. There is outside seating available--I was bummed that it was still a bit too cold to take advantage of it. Sitting outside with a cold beer in a month or so would be amazing! The decor inside is kind of like Pennsylvania countryside meets a beer bar: cute stuffed foxes nestled among big screen TVs. It seemed to be going for the "comfy like an old t-shirt" school of ambiance. I had reviewed the menu in advance and saw a few vegan options (hummus, fries) and some other items that looked like they might be modified to fit vegan needs. I was really excited to try the beers--if the food didn't work out, we could always grab a bite somewhere else in the neighborhood. Our server was really friendly and was great about answering our vegan-related inquiries. I started with their Irish Red and really, really liked it. Our hummus and sweet potato fries arrived shortly thereafter. The hummus plate came with a big helping of kalamata olives, celery, carrots, and flat bread. The sweet potato fries came in a little bucket and were also a decent portion size I asked our server for a beer recommendation and he suggested the Pilsner. It was okay--I never get excited about pilsners and didn't get excited about this one. (Why the hell did I order it? Still can't say.) For my third and final beer, I tried the Rauch, which is a beer fermented in a pine barrel (or something like that). For anyone who is a real tea fanatic, it tasted like the beer equivalent of lapsang souchong: notes of burnt pine embers. A really neat beer to try, but I would not be able to knock back more than one. I was glad we were full at this point, as I wasn't in the mood for talking food modifications with our server (even though he was very nice). We took the check. If I was close to the area, I would definitely come in again. Since it is an expedition for us, I may be tempted to try another brewery near by just to see how it stacks up. Sly Fox has definitely found a place in my heart as a great PA brewery!

First, the positives...the beers are excellent and the service (AT THE BAR) is very quick and friendly. That's it for the positives. The food here is a disgrace, not so much the quality but more so in the lack of imagination to pair with the wonderful beers. I'll get my Pike Pilsner at a bar with better food and at least some semblance of a vibe, thanks.

This place is a nothing special brewery. In other words it's a pretty good place but not one I would keep coming back to. The wings were pretty good - but I have had better etc. The service was kind of different. We were a large party and the server basically just attended us all separately, even though at the end there was one bill. Maybe this is normal - I don't go out in such big groups so often. But like people were just getting there food and beers all at different times and it wasn't like she asked for everyone at the table in the same round if they needed something while she was there. We were about 13 people. The beer I had was the Helles golden lager which was actually very good - so like everyone else is saying here - go for the beer.

My friends and I decided to try out Sly Fox, since we've never had their beers before. The atmosphere and decor is very casual. If I didn't know this was a brewery, I would have thought it was just a local town diner. It almost reminded me of an IHOP, has a very family friendly vibe. Our waitress was very friendly and provided great service. When we had questions about the beers or needed suggestions, she had the answers and you could tell she knew what she was talking about-which is great. The beers were good, I would suggest getting the flight. Six, 5oz. Beers and they organize it on a tray that is numbered so you know what you are drinking. The food was very good, got the combo platter. My other friends got burgers and flatbreads, they all were satisfied. The menu was quite large, had something for everyone. The food came out extremely quick, I would say within 10 minutes of ordering. All and all, they had good beers and good food. I wouldn't say it's the best brew pub in the Philadelphia area, but I wouldn't say it's the worst either. If you are in the area, try it out. If you live over an hour away, not sure if it would be worth the drive-just pick up a six pack.

Great place to watch a game..& drink VERY FRESH, VERY GOOD beer.We go here whenever in the area! Get a Growler for your fridge, you can't beat the bang for your buck.. or take a 6pack of cans. Food is meh, just ok, needs vast improvement. Can get regular bar fare.. or Applebees food anywhere.

Not as good since it moved. The restaurant is boring but the beer and food is good!

I love the beer here, but the location, ambience and food are pretty bad. The food in particular needs to be upgrade (though not anymore expensive) to what we're now expecting from a good microbrewery. Small plates, fresh ingredients, local farm-to-table fare would be great. I'd love to see an artisan cheese plate on the menu. We Vermonters know how well a good cheese plate goes with craft beer.

The best sweet potato fries I've ever had. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I really counted on the food to wow me, and it did. I had an amazing veggie wrap. Great food, great prices, great service, but awful decor. I get the stuffed foxes, but are you a country restaurant or are you a sports bar? Whatever combo you have going on now isn't working. I would definitely go back, but only for the food not to hang out.

Ambiance: We think the old location across the street had a more cozy atmosphere while this new location is kind of just run-of-the-mill and warehouse-ish (compared to Triumph Brewery, Iron Hill Brewery, etc.). The bathroom is in a odd location, too close to the kitchen for my liking. SlyFox seems to be a decent place to catch a NFL or college football game (it seems they have a large Penn State following). From observation, we like the people in the area. It seems Phoenixville has a family environment, clean-cut and hasn't been infiltrated by the 'pants on the ground' epidemic. Beer: The main attraction. We have always liked Sly Fox beer. Yesterday we had the 'Belgian Blonde', 'Black Raspberry Reserve' and the 'Whitehorse Wit' , we liked all three beers. Service: We sat at the bar, our bartender (Simon) was cool, attentive, he is knowledgeable about his craft. Food: Yes, we all are tired of the word 'gastropub' and 'foodie' but I call it what it is....... I find the food at the SlyFox is just okay, nothing spectacular. I guess we like more beer-infused pairings.......We like items such as Mussels, pommes frites, charcuterie, cubano, etc.........Then again, in fairness, this was only our 2nd time at SlyFox so we need to try more of what is on the menu. (the menu did improve as far as selection since the last time we were here). I would say a solid 3.5 stars with the potential of 4 stars. If we are in the area again, we will stop back in.

If you haven't been there, the Phoenixville Sly Fox IS a sly fox. My friend's GPS sent her in a wonky direction, and I passed it on my first go-around. Hint: look for the STS, and turn into its (huge) parking lot. It was Thursday, so our party of nine was seated without issue. This casual venue is well-lit, with TVs so one can watch the game du jour. Brewery vats are visible behind the bar - speaking of that, I hear the beer is worth trying. (Didn't try any, but my friends enjoyed their brews.) Hanging Penn State towels and posters were a nice touch, and atop the beams and on the walls, were foxes - taxidermy, much? We shared a plate of the Sly Fox pub wings ($7.99), cooked Jamaican Jerk style (remind me to try the honey mustard wings next time). The wings were somewhat scrawny, but a container of Mount Saint Helens sauce (75 cents extra) took them up a notch - FYI, the sauce is a decent habanero and jalapeno combo sauce with carrot slices. I dove into my grilled chicken and sausage penne ($8.99; that's for a lighter portion, which is really big), and it was surprisingly good. Don't remember the chicken, but the sausage was delish. Chorizo, onions, peppers, fresh Mozzarella, marinara sauce - YUM! Did I mention that I asked our server (Chris) to bring over more Mount Saint Helens sauce to mix in? Check out the Sly Fox for yourself.

I have been to Sly Fox before, and it was good not great. Last visit on a Friday night was terrible. First there were several tables they were keeping empty pushed together, I guess in case a large group came. Well they stayed that way the whole night, while customers waited a half hour for a table. Next came the service, the place is not that big but our server took our order and we only saw once after that. Food was dropped off by others, including the manager, and she never checked in to see if we needed anything or the food was ok. Which gets the food, entrees were dropped and my wife's roast beef sandwich was so cold you could see that it had been sitting for at least 10 mins. Had to flag down manager to get another. Also the wings are way overpriced for what you get as an app. So overall food was ok, but service really sank it.

Last night I convinced my fiancé to go out to dinner, citing that I had really wanted to try the Sly Fox since we had heard about it from someone doing work on our house. We had just moved to the area and weren't familiar with the restaurant but like others in a similar vein (Iron Hill, Victory). We went over around 7:00 pm on a Thursday night. The outside dining area was fairly full and the interior was full as well; however there were several empty tables. When we entered the restaurant there was a woman standing behind the hostess stand. She didn't acknowledge us but rather grabbed menus, placemats, etc. and said excuse me and walked past us into the dining area. She came back twice, once to retrieve a table's check, but still did not acknowledge us. Finally, after about 5 minutes of us standing there wondering if we had missed the "Seat yourself" sign she came back and said "Hi, just so you know it's a 20 minute wait, do you want to sit at the bar for a while?" At this point we were already hungry and annoyed and wondering why there was a 20 minute wait when there were clearly vacant seats around the restaurant. She was unapologetic for making us wait and the best I can figure is that they have a staffing issue (not enough staff to help all the customers in a timely fashion) and they seem unaware that they have said issue. They need a John Taffer-style re-do if this is how they are on a daily basis. We left, did a quick Google search and found Joe's All American Pub and Restaurant across the street. Granted Joe's isn't a microbrewery but they are certainly a hell of a lot friendlier and the food was very good. Needless to say, I don't think we will give The Sly Fox another try.

I am not the hugest beer drinker, but the seasonal brews here get me to try one or two! Have been here many times w/ my bestie and her children. There seem to be other families that have the same idea! The menu is good, the portions, as well. It was exciting when this place opened, as there wasn't much like it around at the time in the area, but that has since changed! I think you will not be disappointed to stop by sometime!

I'll confess ahead of time to being wary when we pulled into a strip mall. A real brewery shouldn't be in a strip mall. My fears quickly faded when we were seated. We opted to sit outside - it was a lovely day out - and the screen somehow helped us forget the macadam a few feet away. Our waitress was super, very knowledgeable and patient with our kids. The kids' menu was great but two of my kids opted to order off of the regular menu - the one that did order off of the kids' menu got the mac and cheese. I tend not to eat meat and loved the veggie burger. My husband can't not eat meat (yes, double negatives) and loved his pork sandwich. I was happy to see that you could order a salad as a side instead of fries (and did). The beer was good. We've been back since and I've only been disappointed with one (thought it a little sweet). It's definitely a good value, especially for a family.

A bit of a drive for us Fairmounters, but worth it. Hop onto 76 and take the exit for 422 (don't listen to any of this, I'm prob all wrong since the boo always drives) and take the scenic route around Valley Forge park and you come to this little gem wedged in a strip mall. It deserves better location, but it's still quality. The boo had a groupon deal and we were really excited to try the beer so we spent our Saturday binge-ing at Sly Fox. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip as our appetizer, boo got the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries, and I got the Greek turkey burger with regular fries. We compromised on fries to try both - POWER COUPLE! There was a 45 minute wait and they don't take reservations, so we were really lucky when two seats opened up at the bar right in front of the growler show - which is the machine that fills the growlers. The food here isn't bad, it's priced well and my turkey burger was flavorful - sometimes all turkey tastes the same...like turkey...this had the "heart healthy" tag on it and actually tasted good. The spinach artichoke dip was small, but it was an app, and truthfully, we came for the beer. The beer...you really get bang for your buck. You can sample unlimited beers and you have the option to order a 10 oz (usually for $3.50), 16 oz ($4.00), or pitchers which I thought was a good value, especially considering the strength of the beer. I had two of their seasonals - the red ale (red obviously, but light taste...I think this style is very clean tasting), and the dunkel lager (darker, stronger, but not a stout). I was pleased with both. My boo got the darker one of the Saisons and the Route 113 IPA - he balls hard - and we went home with a big bottle of the Odyssey Imperial IPA. I wanted to start a growler collection and get one from here but it's so far from home that it's not economical to drive out there and fill it. Compared to Yard's this place really stands out - their prices are lower and they have more variety in both beer and food.

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience underwhelming. The beer was hit or miss, but are more moderately priced than better brewpubs: -Saison Brune was a terrible attempt at one of my favorite styles, far too thin of a mouthfeel and not particularly flavorful, head dissipated almost before it got my table, no discernible nose. See Ommegang in NY for an excellent Saison -IPA (rt. 113, i think) was good and hoppy, a little unbalanced, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. -Fox Track Brown Ale was a nice dark brew, great head and lacing on the glass, and had a very nice coffee aroma. The food was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. Nachos were gelled together by cheese that had been melted and then re-congealed long before making it to our table. The atmosphere was so confusing. Senior citizens and 12 year olds abounded, making an odd mix for a brewpub. TVs literally line the walls, but people weren't there to watch the games (I clapped for a phillies homerun and then felt awkward as no one else seemed to be aware there was even a game on). The service was a bright spot. The staff were all very nice. Our waitress was great (although we received an incorrect entre, it was quickly fixed) and hit that balance of helpful, not overbearing. The place is close to being a lot of fun, but overextends its beer list with styles it can't get right, has a weird Golden Corral demographic, and very average food. With so many great local breweries (Victory, Yards, Troegs, Manayunk, etc.) this place has a lot of room for improvement.

I prefer Victory in Downingtown, but Sly Fox is pretty good! I wish they would switch up the pub menu, but the beer selection is great. I would prefer not to have to get my take out from the bar, other than that no complaints. Great neighborhood brew pub.

I've been to this brewhouse a couple times and had a great experience both times. The beer selection is great, the service is great, and the food is great! What more can you ask for?! On the last trip, I got the hot ham and cheese on pretzel bread- yum!!! The hubby got a huge burger with bleu cheese and it was gone within seconds. We had several beers, mostly darker ones, most notably for me, the Pughtown Porter. The sweet potato fries were kinda bland, but after having hot wings (Mt. Helena sauce was spicy hot and delicious!) sandwiches, and two full pints, I felt guilty for even trying to finish them anyway. Special note: They have the coolest growler fill machine we've ever seen! Growlers, cans and big bottles are all for sale. Deal: On Wednesdays, they give a dollar or two off of growler fills!

Hot dog Party in here!!!!! Literally and figuratively. Came here with a friend to watch an afternoon Phillies game. (A game I had planned to go to , but weather and life intervened). They had a "businessmans" special- $1 hotdogs and bag o chips, $2.50 drafts. I dont know how many of these guys were businessmen,( Im sure not) but there were alot of them for a Thursday afternoon. Ive never been much of a micro brew guy, but then again, I was never much of a beer guy. Places like Rock Bottom and Sly Fox are turning me into one though. While Ill always be a Guiness guy, their Stout was tasty. I would have stuck with that but I wanted to sample some others. At $2.50, I was able to try a few without breaking the bank, and they didnt disappoint. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Dogs. Because of the special, I assumed I would be getting a generic run of the mill hot dog. It was actually a damn fine wiener and a good roll. I cant really say the food there is good though, Ill have to come back to try some of their normal eats. The menu looked good. The service was friendly, the barkeep was a looker, the patrons were amicable. I couldnt really ask for more on a Thursday afternoon. Although, a Phillies win would have been nice. Foiled by the Blue Jays once again!

What can I say, there's something about the idea of a goat race that sounds intriguing no matter how you look at it, especially when there's live Oompah (no loompah boompah boopity doo about it) Music playing in the background. So I'm was instantly intrigued by the thought of coming here to bear witness to it, and when Meredith and Hunter were cool enough to include me on their road trip I was destined to go to Phoenixville for the first time ever! And as you can imagine the goat race was nothing short of amazing. I can't overly comment on the layout of the building since the place was a tent filled zoo that had the animals to match. But the brewery sure was able to hold a crowd and offer good service while they did it. and the various fox themed memorabilia that it had as decor was pretty hilarious. I've always enjoyed the Pikeland Pils and the Helles from a tap, but having them fresh brewed really added onto the flavor. and the Slacker Bock might just be my new favorite beer. After 4 exciting heats, the final round saw my friend Steve, who managed to score the opportunity of racing a goat from a random ad on Craigslist (is there nothing that you can't find on Craigslist?), raced against Meredith's friend Ash. But sadly both ended up losing to a New York Giants fan! horrible victory aside I can honestly say that I may never forget the name of Goatmaster Steve, who was the person who refereed the goats. And I will definitely never forget the name of Dax, at least for a year since the winning goat's name becomes the name of Sly Fox's next mai bock. and the beer version of Dax might just be the smoothest mai bock that I ever had. and it was sheer testament to Sly Fox's brewing skills!

I hate it when I forget about groupons ... Well it was due to expire in a few days so we pilgrimaged out to the pa burbs for some brews post movie and had a Saturday hh @ the bar. I started with the raspberry reserve not quite a lambic ; sweeter than a very sour beer but very drinkable. they offer 10oz 20oz and pitchers depending on your drinking abilities . Cb did the rt 113 and we split the cheese fries topped with melted cheddar and lump crab meat. The fries were great nice crunch and there was plenty of crab meat and cheese to go around. my next beverage was a glass of wine none of the other beers are up my alley hop wise . Keeping it local they feature chaddsford wineries wines. Though I'm not really a fan of chaddsford ; the white reserve was drinkable just a little too dry for my liking. Cb got to watch the Phills and the bartender was pretty friendly. We usually don't venture out this far but agreed we'd like to check out the brewery tour and maybe grab dinner in the near future. So for now it's 4 stars. The patio seating is inviting on a nice warm night I could see grabbing up a table. The bar area features hh sun-fri from 4-6 when select drafts are 2.50 and there are daily food specials as well.

Stopped back after having horrible nachos the last visit. Beer is fantastic as always but this time, the Jamaican Jerk wings were great. Want to give credit when credit is due. Ambiance and kitchen inconsistency keeps my rating to 3 stars. If it was just beer, then 5 stars from me.

I don't have too many regular places but I consider Sly Fox to be one of the few. The beer selection is definitely what has me coming back for me. I love the Royal Weisse. My absolute favorite is their raspberry reserve but you can only get that in the bottle and not a glass. If you are looking for something to eat, Sly Fox is a place for good wings, pretzels and chicken fingers. I've enjoyed their sandwiches but it is the greasy food that I want when I'm tasting their beers.

Drove out to Phoenixville in search of on-tap beers after having some really good in-the-can from Sly Fox. I was not disappointed. My wife & I shared two rounds of the samplers...at $6 for 5 glasses, it's a great way to find the brew that's fit for your taste. I've got some pics of the beer lineup posted above; I like stouts and while the O'Reilly Stout was a nice dry stout similar to Guinness, I preferred the smoother Oatmeal Stout. Another standout was the Raspberry Reserve...not at all sweet. If you like hops, make sure and get the Aurora IPA; this thing is a hop monster! Service was good...decent place to watch a football game in the bar or have a quiet meal on the other side of the restaurant. We shared a crab & corn warm dip that was decent...points for having diced peppers for color & crunch.

Say what you want, but if you can't appreciate these awesome selection of micro brews, you obviously don't have quality taste in beer. Stick to the college bar scene or hit up Stables for a Pabst. This craft beer at its finest. No light fizzy brews here. There's something on there for everyone. The service, more times than most, excellent. Terrific staff. As for the food? Ever since they redid their menu, I can't go there and not order their Grilled Chicken Burrito. Great price and you get a lot!

Do people only come here for the beer or does Sly Fox put something in their brew that numbs the taste buds? Seriously, a few weeks ago I made my first visit to the Phoenixville location with some coworkers for lunch. Having been to the Royersford location previously I can say without reservation that they're both the same, service is barely adequate and the food is just passable. My coworkers and I got soup, hot wings and various sandwiches and we all agreed that the only thing we thought was good were the hot wings. Really though, who can't make good hot wings? A dishwasher on his first day on the job can make good hot wings. Two of us got hot roast beef sandwiches that were extraordinarily bad. The beef slices were thick, fatty and didn't taste fresh at all. I could barely finish it and not for lack of hunger. Service was on the slow side and was marginally friendly. The food is overpriced for the quality and portions and the service is so-so at best. Yup, Sly Fox has the formula down pat. Go to either location and it's apparent that you'll get the same thing. We all agreed that it was our last lunch at the Sly Fox.

Personally I don't get what the fuss over Sly Fox is all about. Really, I don't. I first wandered into Sly Fox in the pre-Yelp days and then recently returned with a pal looking for a change of pace and some novel beers. The beers, brewed in-house, are just OK. I can think of any number of imports or domestic microbrews I'd prefer to drink. Of course I'm not one of those guys who likes drinking severely over-hopped IPAs, so maybe that's why I don't see it. And in my mind their house stout is too sweet. In contrast, the Saison Vos is definitely a standout. I'll give Sly Fox 3 stars for its beers-but the food is only 2 stars.

Service, service, service is the priority here and all of the bartenders - Corey, JP, Kelly, Amanda - exemplify this. 98.5% of our visits are at the bar, so I don't know the names of many of the servers--but any time we do sit at the tables, service is solid and the place does a good job hiring pleasant folks. The beer is top notch. Grab some of their bottles to age in the beer fridge at home or some cans or growlers to enjoy at your next party/bbq. The menu is basic pub food, nothing over the top, but if it's pub grub that you are in the mood for, you'll find it here. The Jerk Wings have really good flavor. We don't usually order entrees when we come here (other than the fish and chips--get an A- grade). So I can't give you honest feedback on the rest of them. I can tell you about the sandwiches on the menu: the Cuban Sandwich is pretty solid, as is the Pretzel Melt Sandwich (a little buttery, though). The mr will get a burger from time to time, and always enjoys it. One thing I wish the Fox would on their menu is a turkey sandwich of some kind--roast turkey, sliced turkey...a girl can dream, right? The Fox is definitely a good place to catch a game. Their new location has larger televisions and more of them, so almost any seat will get you a sight line to the game. In the fall, they carry NFL Sunday Ticket, so you can see all of the day's games. Don't miss some of their annual events--Robbie Burns night, St. Patrick's Day Boot Camp, Bock Fest/Goat Races (May). The only negative to the new location is the noise...the floors are tiled and the ceilings are open, so there is little soft material to diminish the sound. Maybe they'll work on this in the future, since they've been open less than a month in the new spot.

I've been to quite a few brewhouses in the Philly area over the past few years and finally made it to Sly Fox recently. I've been drinking Sly Fox beer for quite some time and always enjoy it. Lately I've been buying the Pils in cans - awesome for $29/case. Anyway I was very curious to see how these beers fared on tap and I was not disappointed. The building itself is very warm and welcoming - lots of wood and bright natural light, and plenty of room at the bar. I sampled quite a few of the beers in flights - many thanks to the bartender for his recommendations, and overall excellent service. He handled the entire bar area by himself, was very friendly, and easily manhandled all of the drink and food orders with ease. I didn't have to wait long for a beer. There are quite a few bars that could only dream of this type of service. Food was very good. They have $1 tacos and 1/2 price wings on Sunday, and we did have couple of sandwiches as well. The food was priced fairly and was paired nicely with the huge selection of beers. My favorite beer of the day was the Phoenix Pale Ale, which I did take home with me in a cool Sly Fox growler. I also really like the 113 IPA on tap, since I've only had that beer in bottles to that point. I'll definitely go back. Very cool place to hang out. It seemed like everyone knew everyone else, which was also nice to see that this place isn't just a chain brewpub - it's a neighborhood bar for people who enjoy good beer and food.

A-OK. That's how I would label this joint. It is located in a crappy little shopping center but the place itself wasn't bad. We were seated by ourseves very close to the front of the dining room. I couldn't get a very good idea of the ambiance and I didn't really like the seating arrangements. Oh well. The food wasn't bad but I thought it was overpriced. There food was the usual bar-type fare. Not much to it. I am usually looking for something different in a brewhouse and eatery. The beer was ok. For someone who loves these types of places, I was a little disappointed. Service was average. I will have to go back to see if they can change my mind.

I have found the beer to be marginal and very inconsistent. Food is fair. My brother in law is a fan but i am not.

I didn't eat any food here, but thoroughly enjoyed their taps. I just moved to Phoenixville from Portland, Oregon and Sly Fox was a beer beacon. Loved the Pale Ale and the Rt 113 IPA. Great brews and sixers/22's to go.

I only got to try their golden lager, but I liked it. My friends tried the others (i.e. Abbey Xtra, O'Reilly's Stout, etc.) and all had good things to say about them. The waitress was also nice enough to give us samples. The food is good too. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was the first buffalo chicken sandwich I had that wasn't a complete mess. The crab fries were covered with crab meat, which was gooood, but it was also smothered in cheese, which was not so good. They have a full parking lot, so parking is a lot easier to find than some of the restaurants on Main St in Phoenixville. Our waitress also drew a picture of a fox on our check and told us to "have a foxy day!" I think that deserves an extra star.

A friend recommended this place to me, so on my last business trip to the area, I went out with some coworkers and other random folks. It's a pretty standard brewpub as far as decor goes (lots of wood, dark enough to be a steakhouse, visible brew kettles, etc.) with a huge lean towards the sports theme. Service was good, especially considering we were a large party later in the week. The waiter was quick, and on the ball with recommendations and such. The food was. . . well, ignore the haters. The food was pretty good for what it is. I don't expect a brewpub to have the variety and imagination of a tapas place or "fusion". I expect bar foods and other traditional American grub, and I expect them done well. And yes, kids, they did that just fine. The jerk wings were good but not great, however, the volcano sauce (or whatever they called it) you could get on the side made up for that. Hot enough for my nearly dead taste buds, and yet still tasty. I had a pasta dish with chicken that fit the bill of comfort food to have with a beer, and it was spot on. As a note, when they tell you the portions here are big -- especially with the pasta dishes -- the are NOT kidding. I am not a small man, and I still had enough for two meals, and that was without the breadstick. And to save the best for last. . . the beer. It IS a brewpub, and this is why my friend sent me. Holy hell, the beer was good. I had a decent IPA, and a sip of a friend's raspberry wheat that were damn good. The real kicker, however, was the oatmeal stout they'd literally just tapped earlier that day. It was a special deal that they made in a small batch and served at room temperature. That one was good enough to put in my personal Pantheon with beers from Dogfish Head and Stone. It's been months, and I'm still sad I didn't have an empty growler in the car. So yeah, I'm totally going back when I have to go up again for work. I totally dug this place. ~EEE~

I'm dying to go back. The Saison Brune I had was so good. I'm still dreaming about it. I had the chicken gyro for my entree. It was delicious and healthy.

I haven't had their food but I LOVE their beer! My all time favorite is their Christmas Ale. I look forward to it each year. I am happy to see they received international attention after being shown in GQ magazine for being one of the few microbreweries in the United States that cans their beers.

Every few years I go back to Sly Fox to try it again. This was the final straw, the food is fair and the beer is not even mediocre....I consider myself a beer connoisseur and I've never had a decent beer at Sly Fox. I have kept returning because I can't figure out how they've been able to remain open. Just pass on by and go to Victory if you want a good beer.

It's located in a strip mall, but the interior's nice. The beers are delicious, though. We just went for appetizers and a pint, and I was pretty impressed with the place. Very good service, also.

I have been going to The Sly Fox for years and love their beer, especially their IPAs. Although this year's Pale Ale project is nowhere near as interesting as their previous IPA projects, I still love what they do. The O'Reily's Stout is better than Guinness, in my humble opinion, and I have done a blind taste-test. I love their IPAs, and the Raspberry Reserve, though I mostly dislike lambics and fruit beers, is wonderful. Another standout is the Pughtown Porter, and Jake's ESB is also delicious. I love the bartenders there, especially Corey, and the waitstaff is usually pretty attentive. Although the food is nothing to write home about, I've always been pretty satisfied with my meal. The salmon sandwich and the Nicoise salad are delicious! Three cheers for The Sly Fox! Oh, and the Phoenixville location is about a million times better than the Royersford location, staff and all. The Phoenixville location is also home to the annual Goat Race and Bock Fest in early May, one of the most hilarious events of the year. Be sure to check it out; this year it's May 3. Also, every Tuesday they have poker night, which is my favorite poker night in the area to attend. Although I don't live in P-ville anymore, I still make occasional trips there on Tuesdays to hang out with the poker crowd and get my game on. That should tell you something!

This 5 star rating is specifically for the french onion soup. The other food is good too, but the french onion deserves it's own yelp category. I can't get enough of this. I got it to go the other day and mentioned that I wanted to take it for lunch the next day so the server packed it up separately, with the cheese and bread in another container so I could nuke it together and have it fresh the next day. Never would have thought of that, but it made all the difference.

It was good! The one star was withheld because our prego friend wishes there was more fries with her meal ;) it was a good deal with the groupon and the beer was dlish, red raz beer was close to a lambic. Would return. (FYI, don't use the first stall in the woman's bathroom, the toilet isn't connected to the floor!)

Four stars for beer. Try the beer sampler platter and go from light to dark. Three stars for food, it is nothing spectacular. The usual overdone, overpriced burgers. The crab cakes aren't too bad.

The Sly Fox (Phoenixville) is my favorite local spot for a beer. Service is almost as good as the quality of their craft brew. The beer, as many know, is why people head to The Fox. If you're looking for something like a Bud or Coors, then you'll be out of luck. The food is typical pub fare, usually good but consistancy can sometimes be a problem. Serious hop-heads are the norm as one can get a traditional Pilsner, a hoppy IPA, or a smoky Rauchbier (seasonal). Also check out their annual events - Boot Camp from Jan. to March, Robert Burns Night, and the hugely popular Bock Fest/Goat Race in May.

I figured that not many people in my area yelp, and that makes me sad, so we're going to eat our way around the area. Anyway. We went to the Sly Fox in Royersford. The food is general pub fare. It's not bad, but it's not so good that you can get away without going there. One of the things I was really appreciative of was that it was very family oriented. Having a 4 month old, I was really happy to see tons of families in there with kids and babies of all ages. The wait staff is extremely friendly and prompt. I didn't get a chance to try the beer, which given the fact that it's a brew pub, is a sin, but we were really pushing the envelope with the baby's pending bedtime being so close. It's definitely someplace that I'd go back to again, as it's really convenient and like I said, the food was decent enough that it's a great quick meal. So next time, I'll try the beer. I give it 3.5 stars.

First time doing a review so bear with me. Went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Sly fox has a very nice enclosed patio to sit on. My wide and I each got a sampler of beers. The beer was good not great. We really enjoyed the saison vox. Food overall was above average. Iiked my Caesar salad and buffalo wings. Wife didn't rave about her chicken and feta sandwich. Service was also above average but not great

Again, I love this place because they care about the product they produce. If you love beer then this is a dream come true. Give it a try and get ready to enjoy.
