Eight of us tried out Fenice last weekend. The place was packed, but we had a reservation so we were seated right away. The restaurant replaced the Epicurean, and has had renovations to give it a whole new look and feel. To the left is the main dining area, which has several big screen TVs and a "Mckenzies" or" Iron Hill" type of vibe.. Fenice is still awaiting their liquor license from the archaic Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, so the good news for a lot of us is, until the license comes in, it's a "BYO"- Every table of diners we saw took advantage of that- our table included! Fenice did a great job with the bar renovations- the solid wall that used to separate the main dining room from the bar area was taken down, so the bar area is completely open now, giving it that "sports bar/Cheers" kind of feel. Once they are able to start serving drinks, I think Fenice will become a great bar scene. Love the smaller dining room to the right of the bar for a table of two or four. Cozy. Now, to the food... I rated Fenice 4 stars (would even give a 5 for effort) because the entire staff, including the owners, made a great deal of effort that night to keep everyone in the place happy- they were interested in what we thought and how they could improve! The food, according to all eight of us, was a mixed bag- from GREAT to mediocre. Here's how we ranked the dishes we tried: Pesto Pierogies: Great- perfectly balanced basil cream sauce- yum Mussels Fra Diavlo: very good Eggplant Ponchatrain: Great- if you love eggplant, this is a good one Crawfish Etoufee: Good Red beans and Rice: Good Oysters Rockefeller: OK- men thought oysters too small, but what man thinks anything of his is too big? :) Bigger isn't necessarily better! Sicilian salad: OK (antipasta platter for 2) Jambalaya: Eh- the gravy overwhelmed the dish- thick and gooey- probably needed less sauce and more rice- disappointing FriedCatfish/potato wedges, cole slaw: Eh ... This was one of the house "specials of the day" ... We were told by our server that all of the fish is fresh, never frozen- this catfish had a whole lot of breading- I should have ordered the blackened on the menu- The fried catfish "strips" came with tartar sauce, but way more breading than fish. Potato wedges were great! Most of the entrees come with a side salad, which we didn't realize when we ordered a few of the apps (sicilian salad).. We were too, too full to sample the desserts- Next time, the Bananas Foster will be my go-to because it looked and sounded amazing! All in all, I think Fenice Creolo has a bright future! The menu is creative, reasonably priced and offers something for everyone.. The servers and owners are friendly and willing to please, and are very open to suggestions-- Very exciting to be able to park in the parking lot as opposed to driving around and around Main Street looking for a spot! Bottom line is, we will be back!!!

I was a little unsure if I wanted to try this place after reading some of the reviews but it was our anniversary and we had a gift certificate so we figured what the hell. The decor of this place was really nice, kind of Pop Art meets Hard Rock Cafe, but classier. We went on a Saturday night around 6:00 and basically had the place to ourselves. There was one table with a family and four people at the bar ( yes I said bar they have a liquor license now!). We were seated immediately by someone who I believe was one of the owners and our server Olivia could not have been sweeter. She brought our drinks right away along with a small loaf of warm bread with garlic butter. Olivia informed us of the daily specials and the menu changes for the evening. She told us that any item that would normally have been served with potatoes as a side would now have Dirty Rice instead. The weakfish was now substituted with Mahi Mahi and they had just served their last Prime Rib ( really by 6:15 on a Saturday with only one other table filled in the place???). We decided to try the Pierogies in a basil cream sauce for an appetizer. They were very good and tasted homemade. The cream sauce was not too heavy and had the perfect amount of basil. We even used some of that warm bread to sop up the sauce after we had eaten the pierogies. My husband ordered the Pecan Crusted Weakfish oops I mean Mahi Mahi, I opted for one of their specials, pork loin in an orange ginger sauce and our daughter ordered the Eggplant Parmesan over penne pasta. Our meals arrived soon after and were served by the same gentleman who had seated us, again I think he was an owner but there was very little chatting or introduction. In such a small intimate atmosphere a little conversation would have gone a long way. My entree as well as my husbands came with a side of dirty rice and steamed vegetables. His fish was on the dry side but not inedible. He enjoyed the crunch and spice on the coating but the dirty rice was so overly spicy with a slightly burnt taste that it over powered anything else on the plate. My pork loin was very tender and the orange ginger sauce was perfect. I had the same experience with the dirty rice. Way too overpowering for the pork loin. My husband and I LOVE spicy/hot foods but this rice was extreme. There was just too much creole spice going on , they should have sent one of the servers out for the potatoes that were usually served with these dishes. The steamed veggies, a perfect combination of broccoli, yellow squash, zucchini, cauliflower and snow peas helped offset the creole overkill. My daughter's eggplant was average, thinly sliced ,breaded and fried but very soggy served in an average commercial tasting pasta sauce. We all felt pretty full ( they do give you a decent amount of food) but still decided to power through on to dessert. Olivia was very sweet and rattled off the dessert menu again informing us that there was only one of their famous lemon bars left ,again at this point a few more tables had been filled but they were not even eating their entrees yet so I am not sure why they were running short on so many items. My daughter ordered the cannoli filled with chocolate mousse and my husband and I decided to split a Cheesecake Disaster. The cannoli was average and did not taste homemade at all and the Disaster was just a slice of commercial cheesecake mashed up and served in a martini glass. The entire bill came to $96.00 and we had a $25.00 gift certificate so my husband did not feel as ripped off as he would have if we had forked over the entire bill out of our own pockets. He said he was "done" with the place and does not want to return. I on the other hand would be willing to try again since my meal seemed to be the best out of the three. I think this place has potential. The atmosphere and decor are five stars, they have a liquor license now, the waitstaff could be a little more engaging and the food pairings need to be more balanced. This could be a great upscale neighborhood hangout, only time will tell.

I have visited multiple times and have enjoyed it every time. They always have great service, and excellent food. They really excel in seafood with the blackened catfish and shrimp dishes. The jambalaya is really nice as well. Great happy hour specials and excellent beer choices. My girlfriend lovrd the shrimp pasta.

Super find! Great variety, po boys, salads and other Cajun fare. Not open for lunch during the week. Ckeck their hours, worth going. Highly recommended!

Just enjoyed a delicious burger and potato wedges as part of a late hangover lunch! Yum! Nice to find a place that will serve a rare burger actually rare! Boyfriend ordered the crawfish which were also delicious! I enjoyed a Little hair of the dog with a Peroni draft. Boyfriend had his usual Yuengling lager but noted that they have an extensive bottle list. Our bartender was friendly and attentive despite a fairly busy afternoon crowd! We both like creole cooking and are looking forward to coming back for a boil or an étouffée!

I always judge a creole restaurant by it's gumbo. Their version was terrible. It was nice and dark, but maybe 2 pieces of chicken and 1 piece of sausage. On the recommendation of the waitress I got the crab and monterey jack cheese quesidillas and they were so fishy I couldn't eat them. Gorgeous place, but food is not worth the trip.

What a great first time experience. Nice atmosphere and the food was awesome - had the popcorn crawfish and bbq shrimp with cheddar polenta - love the creole inspired menu! Decadent, delicious desserts. Our server, Conrad, was a lot of fun and very attentive! Would definitely return.

Server was nice, food was good, BUT it took almost an hour and a half to get it! I almost felt like I was in an episode of Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares. This was the first time I ever considered walking out. I'd suggest to the restaurant to staff more than just 2 cooks so you can better recover from situations like this.

I came here with my husband about two or three times and love their appetizers. They have their smoke station behind the restaurant and have brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Put that over top of their potato wedges and its delish! I also love their wings with the mango habanero sauce that will have you crying, unless you are daring enough for the Dambala hot sauce. I went there on a Thursday night and found that there is Karaoke from 6:30-10 PM. It's so much fun! Even if you come for a few drinks and appetizers, it's a nice start to the weekend and there are not too many people there so if you are shy, there is no excuse. The owner, Tom, is so nice and personable and the staff is wonderful and friendly. It's like Cheers. :) See you on Thursday!

1st time visiting this restaurant. Food was fantastic. Waiter was very attentive. The brownies will have the family talking and wanting to go back many times again in the future. A+++

I decided to check out this place with my family tonight. I will start by saying I love creole / Cajun style food so I was excited to give it a try. My fiancé and my mother do not like creole/spice but they love Italian and this place advertises themselves as also an Italian fusion so we should be good, right? So we get seated and I will say the host and waitress where very friendly. Our water was filled and my beer was brought right away. We started looking at the menu and the selection was very small if you are looking for an Italian or Italian "fusion" meal. So we all made up our mind and yes it took a little time for my mom and fiancé to make up their mind, maybe 15 minutes and both decided on the chicken parm which I will get back to. I started out with the gumbo. It came out fairly quickly as you would expect for a soup. I took a big spoonful of it and was super let down, it was almost flavorless with a very small amount of meat.i had to put a bit of salt into it just to give it something. About 40 minutes passed between my soup and when our meals arrived, there was only 2 other tables in the dinning room at this time , however probably a dozen or so at the bar.. Not to busy to excuse this long wait. As I said 2 in my party ordered the chicken parm and it came over pasta that was cooked well however it was just a butterflied lightly breaded breast with a super thin, light tomato sauce that was very acidic and with virtually no seasoning and what looked like a light sprinkle of powdered parmasian cheese. Very flavorless and over priced for the dish. My father got the crab cake meal and he had said that his crab cakes contained a good amount of actual real crabmeat , they tasted as though they were made with stove top stuffing.. So needless to say he wasn't overly thrilled with his meal either. Now I got the popcorn crawfish poboy and it was stuffed with crawfish. The crawfish was battered and fried beautifully but had no seasoning as with everything else. We were all let down by the long wait for the meal , super disappointed by the food itself and not happy with the prices they charged for the sub par meals. The only nice thing was the friendly service! I would not recommend the food but its a nice place to go and have a few drinks at the bar.

Just moved to the neighborhood. Tom and his staff have done a GREAT job here. The place has real friendly neighborhood feel. The food is very well prepared, they have very good drinks and everything is reasonably priced. What else could you ask for? We will definitely be back again.

After a long wait I finally decided to visit fenice creolo. We started with wine and popcorn crawfish and for dinnerI got the junior salad which was huge and my friend got the tortellini which was very tasty as well. The atmosphere is very friendly and there was live music that actually didn't effect on the noise level all around the place. The service was a bit slow but I could understand. The positive experience that I had gives me the desire to come back again.

Delicious crawfish and jambalaya overall a fun menu, good food, friendly staff. Went for a wedding rehearsal dinner and it was an overall excellent experience.

My boyfriend and I decided to try Fenice Creolo. When we entered, we noticed it was incredibly slow for a Saturday night. However, they are in a tough location, tucked away in Eland Village so we didn't think too much of it. It is a clean but dark restaurant that is meant to be a Creole/Italian/American fusion. Interesting concept. However, the rock art on the walls, the jazz playing on the radio, and the eclectic menu suggest a bit of an identity crisis. They had an impressive craft beer menu but did not have at least 3 of the beers listed which made ordering a slight challenge. One, I can understand but three? (I'd suggest having your main beer menu of regular brews and maybe an insert of the seasonal beers available.) They also ran out of the one IPA they had on draft. We ordered the jambalaya fries as an appetizer which were decent. Since they did not have the Petite Tenders in stock, I decided to order the special: pork with an andouille ettouffee sauce, andouille Mac and cheese and broccoli. The broccoli and Mac and cheese were good. The pork was just OK - a little on the bland side. My boyfriend, on the other hand, had some sort of crawfish creole pasta which he got with shrimp instead of crawfish. It was good but a bit TOO spicy - even for creole. Drinks were reasonably priced but the food was really pricey for what we got. Our waitress, Louise, was very nice and seemed to know the menu. However, she would disappear at times which was odd, considering the almost empty restaurant. I really, really wanted to like this creative, local place. And I think it has potential. But I think Fenice Creolo has some issues to work out - Including slow service, inadequate inventory, and somewhat inflated menu prices - before we would return. Good luck!

I made my 1st trip to Fenice Creolo this past Saturday. My calamari was perfectly done, the blackened catfish was the best I've had in a very long time & the homemade chocolate cheesecake was fantastic. Everyone in my party raved about the food & atmosphere. I have a new favorite restaurant!

Delicious bread and butter. Perioges were amazing. My Jambalya was great with the $2 extra risotto. We ate outside and it was a great night. Our waitress was attentive and helped us make wonderful food choices. I will be coming back again. Inside there was a band playing so I am sure inside would have been nice as well.

I really wanted to love this restaurant! This place is very beautiful. I had not been to the Epicurean before Fenice Creolo came in, but I really loved the atmosphere and also loved every piece of art on the wall. It is comfortable yet elegant all at once and I really did love the look and feel. We came for a special occasion and the ambiance was perfect. We were here on a weeknight (night before 4th of July) and we encountered two employees. We were very happy with the service, there seemed to be a real dedication to the restaurant and they were prompt and pleasant. I will want to give this restaurant a second chance, but the food left something to be desired. We started with the soups - two daily soups, one was a semi jambalaya and one was a bean soup. They were both a dark (unappetizing) black wiithout too many distinguishing charachters. We think the jambablya must have scorched to the bottom of the pan at some time. For our main courses - The prime rib was over done (we asked for rare and it came out medium at best), and the crab cake was a little too soft for my taste, but well seasoned. Our general impression for our two meals was that everything was a little over the top... There was an excessive amount of sauces and seasonings that ended up taking away from meal. It was not spicy at all - just over seasoned in a way that did not make the meal that enjoyable. My hope for my next visit would be a smaller menu, with some really expert dishes. I would also like to see more of the Fusion. My impression was that the left side of the menu was more creole and the right was italian. It would be cool to see a stronger merge of the two.

I have been here twice and absolutely love it. The first time, it was stumbled upon by mistake. Service and food were excellent. I had the blackened chicken special and my LDC had the gumbo and jambalaya. We both left very happy. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that I chose this place for my birthday dinner. For us, it was worth the 45 minute drive. I only wish that we lived closer. Once again, service was great (different server this time) and I have no complaints. Get the pesto pierogies as an appetizer. You will not regret this decision. They also had a peanut butter chocolate chip cheesecake that I would murder my own mother for. (Don't judge- you never met her). My dinner included andouille sausage, shrimp and broccoli rabe over penne tossed with olive oil that was quite tasty. There was also a decent variety of beers on tap and a nice bottle list. I'm very much looking forward to returning.

We went to Fenice Creolo last night to try some of their Cajun dishes. We were huge fans of Daddy Mims, and since they are gone, we wanted to see if Fenice was up to the challenge of creating the same tastebud experience. I had been to the old Epicurean before and I must say that Fenice did a great job renovating the place. It is more of a bar feel now though than a restaurant. We got the voodoo shrimp as an appetizer which was very good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the flavor was nice and spicy/tangy. We also had the calamari app which was OK. I didn't think there was much flavor but it was cooked well and not spongy. I got the etoufee trio which again was cooked perfectly. The shrimp, chicken, and crawfish were good; however the rue was pretty flavorless. I added some salt to mine just to give it something. My girlfriends Jambalaya was good but again lacked flavor and spice. While everyone thought their meal was OK the lack of flavor and spice would definitely sway us from not going there again, as well as the prices. They do have a liquor license now which is good but I got our bill and was pretty shocked. Fenice plays itself as a bar/grill type place but the prices seem more like a fine dining restaurant, which it is not. We had a few drinks but the average price per person for our party of 5 was $45. I'd go back to Fenice again but only for a drink and an app. The Voodoo shrimp was the best thing we had and the cheapest.

Service fine food under seasoned with salt heavy on"brown" gravy. I am not even a salt person and had to add salt several times. Was supposed to be most popular item yuck not for me. Will not try again

This place is terrible! Don't waist your money. I really wanted to like it but it was awful. I went with my husband and a friend. None of us had a good meal. I don't understand how they stay open. I had the Jambalaya and it was watery. It was not season well and it had very little Andouille sausage. Very disappointing.

Been here a few times and I've never been disappointed! The first time I went I ordered some food to go and brought it home to eat... Halfway through eating, I called and placed another order to go for the exact same meal. I literally ate TWO dinners that night because it was that good. True story. My husband and I went in for dinner tonight; I had the blackened steak special and it was INCREDIBLE! At the end, my husband commented on my clean plate - and I told him I wanted to lick it and make it cleaner!! Tom, the owner, is super duper nice and is always there and often visits the dining room to check on his guests. He could use an upgrade on the service staff, and the soup could be hotter... But if you can get past those two things, you're in for a FANTASTIC meal!

We just had a very average and expensive meal at thi restraint. The place was hot (no AC on a hot nightt. I had the BBQ shrimp with cheese polenta and Anduille sausage. Spicy hot and bland at the same time. My wife had a similar complaint. Spicy hot and bland. If your going to serve spicy hot food, the air temp should be below 80 in the restraint. We have had good experiences here I before. This was a very off night.

I really wanted to like this place. I've been four times now, the last time was last week. At the end of the day, the atmosphere is nice, the bar is beautiful, but it is overpriced and the food is not good. I've yet to have one satisfactory meal. I had the blackened catfish, which was okay. When I got it it was cold and the fish was very unevenly seasoned. One mouthful was full of salt while another was completely bland. The side of potatoes it was served with had good flavor but were very pastey. We were told the vegetable side was green beans, but our meals came out with brocolli, which was good but nothing special. At $19, this dish just wasn't worth it. My boyfriend got pecan crusted mahi mahi and this was a huge disappointment. The fish was flavorless and over cooked, the pecan crusting was soggy and there was practically no seasoning. My White Russian was good and they did have Mad Elf on tap which was nice. Don't waste your money on the entrees though. If you come here, get a few drinks at the bar and the voodoo shrimp and eggplant num nums. I really hope they get a new chef and rework the menu.

I really liked this place. It was a combination of creole food and italian. I picked an amazing crawfish dish which reminded me of being back in New Orleans. The person I was with picked a blackened chicken that he also loved. And house wines were $5 like they should be. From the dessert menu, we could not decide what to get due to the excellent diverse selection, so we ended up choosing the apple whiskey pound cake and a coffee martini. I was extremely happy with the taste of their food and reasonable prices!

BYOB The atmosphere is wonderful. We went on a weeknight. Quiet and dark enough for a special occasion. The TVs were on but don't take up too much space. The TVs volumes were turned all the way down and the ambiance music was nice and not annoying. I like how they opened the bar area to make the restaurant look bigger (from the previous Epicurean restaurant). Hand painted tables and bench seating around the exterior. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Attentive to needs. We used the same silverware throughout the entire meal if that bugs you. Appetizers: Bread and whipped butter (spice and garlic) were yummy. We also ordered garlic bread which has some good flavor but too much cheese on top. Voodoo wings were nice and crispy with a perfect balance of spice and sweet flavor. Pesto Pierogies were delicious. The basil pesto sauce was so good we dipped our bread in it. Mussels were spicy and fantastic. Salads were a little too tangy with a vinegar taste for a Caesar dressing. Croutons seemed to be sopped in oil. Nice crunchy texture but too wet. For dinner we were thoroughly disappointed. I had a stuffed veal that did not live up to expectations. The veal was too dry and hard. My wife had a fettuccine chicken dish that was bland and did not have enough cheese. It was also dry and had too many scallions. They overwhelmed the taste of the entire dish. The rest of the family enjoyed their food but each said it was just okay. The restaurant will change anything on their menu AND take any order as long as they have the food to make what you want. A very nice option!!! Desserts were good. Sweet potato pie was okay but bland with a pumpkin pie texture. Pina colada pie is a must get. Chocolate mousse had a good flavor and was very thick. Liquid cream on the side of each dessert was fantastic. Bananas foster was a great finish to the night. Overall the experience was just mediocre; the food was ok. Would like to try again but the main course's fall from the rest of the food may keep us away. There are too many other places to try and this location does not bode well because it does not draw customers in for any other reason.

My husband and I went for dinner last night, we decided to try new restaurant, and we should have stay home. Food was not good at all, we got jerk chicken wings as an appetizer, and I thought wing will be dry and spicy. Instead they were covered with sweet sauce, my husband loves gumbo, unfortunately he had to sent it back. Baby back ribs were dry and so sweet. Maybe Italian food is better, but I don't think we want to try it any time soon. It is absolutely beautiful inside.

The food was outstanding and very authentic. My husband had the Shrimp Fettuccine and I had some awesome dirty rice. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the music and decor were fresh and welcoming. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves New Orleans style cuisine!!

My sister and I love coming here! The food is exceptional and they have a good beer selection. The voodoo shrimp is amazing. Our bartender, Brenden, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. His recommendations were on point. The atmosphere was quaint and inviting. You cannot go wrong here!

We came in on a weeknight and were seated right away. I did enjoy the Epicurean but I was hardly too attached to warm up to a new place. I love Italian and New Orleans is a favorite spot, so I had high hopes. We ordered relatively quickly-- started with the crawfish app, which was described as fresh crawfish over rice and came out so soaked in bourbon that we couldn't eat it. The caesar salad was barely dressed, although the croutons were good. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger, and while the potato wedges were very good, I was disappointed to find that the meat was very low grade--like something you'd find in a school cafeteria. My eggplant was decent, and it was served over mushy penne pasta. The sauce...thick, too sweet, and possibly from a can. It was just absolutely awful and I couldn't eat more than a few bites of the entire dish. My SO ordered a seafood linguini that was passable but also tasted as though it may have come from a jar. It lacked heat and was heavy on the garlic. We had some wine to finish, so we ordered dessert to tide over the little one. I honestly don't even know what it was--it was described as a cupcake with a butter cream shell and chocolate ganache center. The thing was so hard that we couldn't even cut it with a knife. It wasn't quite frozen, but maybe it had been sitting somewhere for a while. Regardless, we explained to the waiter (who was actually very nice) and showed him that it was inedible--he apologized, took the dish away--AND STILL CHARGED US! I couldn't believe it. So...yeah. The Epicurean had its problems, but the cuisine usually didn't disappoint. This place needs a LOT of work, and I just can't see us ever going back.

Decided to give this place a try tonight. The place is dead to begin with. The guitar is playing with a backing track and sounds like cheesy karaoke. Food was ok to poor at best. Very disappointed and will not be back. No sandwiches on the menu. Soup was room temp. Awful. Coffee awful. Won't be back anytime soon.

Wonderful job remodeling the old Epicurean. No liquor license yet so they are in BYOB mode. The bar should be awesome when it is open. Service was spectacular. Food was good but there was a bar-b-q flavor to jambalaya - good just not my cup of tea. Would like something a little more traditional. The crawfish etouffee was good but not great. We intend on going again to try other dishes. The potential is apparent - they really are trying hard and that is great.

We have only been here once so far but WOW! They did a great job with the Decor, it is so much better than the old Epicurean. Really well done! Nice Jazz music playing, extremely skilled service and it is obvious the Owner and Chef know there stuff. I am giving 4 stars because everything we had was spot on, this is not some super fine dining restaurant, it is a local place that does it right. First and Foremost, as a chef and a former new Orleans Chef and an Oyster Po-Boy Fanatic..........this is it, period, said done. I have given up on a good Oyster Po-Boy up here and I have had LOTS of them. Simply put they flat out nailed it, dressed with hot sauce...soooo good! The wife had the WOP salad, they do not call it that (they call it a Sicilian Salad) but that is what it was and anyone who has had a good one in New Orleans knows a good one! Will bring you right back to the old style WOP salad in New Orleans, not for the faint off heart it is loaded, and the garlic herb dressing packs that great punch! We also had the Pierogies with Pesto cream and the Voodoo tenders and they were fine starters as well. We got the "mashed up Cheesecake" for dessert which was really good and rich with lots of toppings. I am not a dessert person but I really wanted the Double Chocolate Cake with Brown Butter icing or the Bananas Fosters...next time. I will be reporting back on the other staples (Gumbo, Red beans, Etouffee, Jambalaya, Crabcakes) so I will let you know. I cannot speak for the other reviewers here but in talking to the chef and eating what he made us he has the chops in the kitchen for sure. PS. BYO for now but the liquor license is on the way and they will be having crafts on tap as well!

No bar = 2 stars. Not a fan of having to bring my own beer. I'll re-evaluate if and when they get their liquor license.

We went shortly after they opened, service was quick and professional, however the food was very disapointing. Both of the meat dishes - veal and beef had sauces that were burnt - we wont be back.

I went the first time was disappointed and went back for a second chance. Just as bad. I got a fish and it was over seasoned. I got the vegetables and it was broccoli cauliflower and potatoes in the middle of the summer. I knew then it was not fresh why would you opt for winter vegetables in the middle of summer. They too were overseasoned. I also got rice- you guessed it overseasoned. You could see the seasoning on all parts of the dish. Gross. Any five year old can dump a spice on everything and present it. Food is lacking big time. Yeah it looks nice inside but big deal. Additionally they were selling beer from the take out and not inside and when I went expecting to buy a six pack from the take out then walking it around they tell me that they no longer sell carry out beer. They made a big mistake opening before having a liquor license. Will not go back. Bad replacement for the epicurean

The place looks great and the wait staff was good. The food needs some help, maybe the menu is just too large and the creole dishes need some work.

Had fish tacos for the first time, and they were amazing. The place is clean and has a very comfortable setting. The staff was very friendly and service was great.

I so wanted to love this new restaurant. It is absolutely beautiful inside, although the outside signs on 113 and the end of the building, don't do much to lure people in. Things started off on a bad note when I asked for lemon slices with my water, and they tasted like onion! Apparently, someone had used a knife to cut an onion, then cut the lemon. First, our garlic bread arrived. It tasted ok, but it was topped with some kind of salty, crumbly topping. The best garlic bread is made with real butter and garlic. The salads were a nice surprise, and were good. I ordered the Cajun Canoe, which is seafood in a breaded zucchini boat. I'm not sure if there was seafood in there, because it was more like a gooey, seafood salad, topped with something resembling what was on the garlic bread. There was a half a tomato, which also seemed to have the same topping. Surrounding the "canoe" was luke-warm rice, smothered in an ordinary gravy. The vegies were nicely done. My friend said that the jambalaya tasted like something you'd get in college. Nothing great...just a lot of food to fill you. It was very thick, like a stew. Not like any jambalaya I had ever seen. He did like the vegies. I guess we need to give the place another try. Maybe stick to something simple, like catfish, that wouldn't be smothered in any kind of sauce or gravy. I really do want to love Fenice Creolo. It's very pretty!

I went with my fiance and another couple. We were seated right away for Sunday brunch, and after hearing rave reviews from a friend I have to say it did not disappoint. I ordered the Oscar Benny, which was essentially eggs benedict with a crab cake and asparagus. The crab cake tasted home made, the muffin underneath was delicious and soft, and the egg was perfectly poached. We made friends with the owner Tom, and our waiter was also very attentive. My coffee cup was never empty, nor were any of our water glasses. I would definitely, definitely return here!

We've now have dinned a fourth time and I had the catfish, my wife had a trout stuff with crab, and my daughter the jambalaya, with awesome appetizers to start. Service was great and EXCELLENT jazz (BB King style) playing tonight (please play more of this). Still a BYOB (for now) and well worth the trip any night.

Great new creole/Italian restaurant. Currently it's BYO which I like. The renovations are beautiful, very open. I went with 4 other people, we were welcomed and seated immediately . Water was poured, wine was opened . All meals come with a salad , perfect size with light dressing. My crab cakes were very good, served with red potatoes and veggies perfectly cooked. The eggplant ponchatrain was also very good as was the primavera and stuffed portabella. All came with veggies and their amazing bread. Service was excellent, food was great, nice ambiance, we will definitly return soon.

The refurbishment is lovely and the atmosphere very very nice. Still no liquor license, but I was happy with BYOB. Our party of four started out with soup - the cream of portabella mushroom was fantastic, many large chunks of mushrooms, but I wish the temperature of the soup was hot, not just lukewarm. The cream of asparagus was also good, but how can you go wrong with cream of anything?!? The gumbo was very salty and the red beans and rice also over salted. Main dishes come with a small side salad, which would be nice if that was noted on the menu. The salads were fresh and tasty. The main courses were the downfall. The waitress warned me that the eggplant ponchantrain had a wet stuffing. I couldn't understand what she meant, even after eating the dish. The seafood stuffing and eggplant were OK, but the whole thing was smothered in a mediocre étouffée gravy, which had started to congeal when the plate was set down ( this was a Thursday night, about four tables were full in the otherwise empty restaurant, no excuse for the food being served lukewarm). The plate was heaped with all kinds of things - bread (burnt on one side), sautéed vegetables, rice. WAY too much food. Two people at our table had the chicken oscar special which instead of the promised hollandaise sauce had some kind of cream sauce - again, way too much food with potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and bread in addition to the asparagus and crabmeat on the chicken. The best meal was had by the one who ordered the crabcake sandwich. Service was adequate, but passing food to one person by handing it across another isn't right. The tables are close together, but that's no reason not to walk around and serve properly. I can't imagine what this would be like on a crowded night. I had high hopes for this place, and if the food matched the new decor, it would be great. Sadly, it does not.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
