Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great food. Best salads in the city. Fresh and reasonably priced. Pizza is delicious (rustica is my personal fav). Delicious!!! Pizza, salad, and pasta are all really great and affordable. Will definitely be back! Small size apple salad was $5 which was actually a huge portion and could have been my meal. Rustica slice $3

Was craving a cannoli and found this place on yelp and was super happy that they were made fresh and only had to wait 5-10 minutes so great!!!

Finding good pizza in a new neighborhood is no easy feat. Let's see how this goes. Ordered: as a Sunday night take out, their large "specialty" square pie, half margarita and half pepperoni and mushroom. Also, for the fiancé last min order of 6 hot buffalo wings. We were given a 20 min wait and the wait was pretty accurate. The flavors are excellent. The crust however left much to be desired, the middle was soggy, maybe it needed to be left in the oven a bit longer. Wings looked off, but tasted good. Service: so... They got our a bit wrong, instead of half margarita, it was made whole and only a bit of pepperoni and mushroom on the other side. The owner compensated us with a free pizza for our next order. Good way to get us back in. Overall: will go again. That's all folks.

Second time at Trios. First time we ordered the Mediterranean salad which was absolutely amazing. Second time we ordered a pie of pizza. They made a minor mistake on the order (asked for no blue cheese but had blue cheese) and they made us a whole new pie, gave us the other one ANDDD gave us two free cookies! Amazing service, friendly staff, super clean and organized environment and not to mention the pizza was awesome!
(5)Shruti K.
Yaay for the pizza and nay for the salad. Their freshly baked veggie pizza is really good. Love the crust and the flavors. Since i am a NewYorker i won't say this is the best pizza i've eaten but by Philly standards it's pretty good. The crust is crunchy and the selection of toppings good. Order the pie vs a slice!

Update: Moved from 1 to 3 stars. Owner called me back due to my phone complaint from last night and offered me a comped meal. Much appreciated! I've had Trios for over 4 years while living in No Libs. It's always been hit or miss with their food in my opinion. If you stick to the basics, it can be pretty good. However, after getting their Chicken Parm pasta entree for at least the 15th time over the past 4 years, I'm finally fed up with this place and moving on to other cheaper and tastier alternatives. Essentially what I was given was a $13 chicken tender parm entree. It looked like they took 1 chicken tender, cut it in half vertically, pounded it to about .25" thin, fried the crap out of it and threw it on a bowl of spaghetti. Take a look for yourself, yelp.com/biz_photos/trio… That's a regular sized fork next to what turned out to be about 5 bites of chicken. See ya Trios, time to move on.

This is as good as it gets for pizza in Philadelphia. I've lived across this place for 2 years now and have gotten just about everything. They have some great selection and really delight customers with their square-pizza offerings. The crust is thin and crunchy on these slices while offering up great topping creations. Their bbq and buffalo are some of the best I've had. I am also a big fan of their prosciutto, fig, and balsamic slice. It is amazing. The standard tomato pie is perfect too. The slices are the perfect size. Filling yet not too greasy/bulky. Definitely support this place if looking for some quick food while traveling to Northern Liberties!

I've always thought Trios Trattoria was acceptable. Pizzas, albeit a bit overpriced, are decent and non-threatening. Everyone seems to enjoy the pastas. Even the chicken cheesesteak my buddy had ordered appeared decent. But I had the cheesesteak, regular, beef. And what a disaster it was. The most dreadful of all cheesesteak meat had been stuffed into a soft ciabatta pouch. What the hell happened between the time the sandwich filling left its bovine origins to this point? The beef is an unrecognizable mince and as mushy as 3rd stage baby food. Asked for american cheese, what I got was an un-salty mass that had solidified. Very unamerican. There were no doubts after the first bite that I had made a $7.xx mistake. I had already declared it the worst cheesesteak I have ever encountered.

Their Tomato Pie is my favorite in the city! Only problem is, calling it Tomato Pie is confusing for Philadelphians like me. I think of Tomato Pie as cheese-less pizza, right? Well, here it has cheese. And it's square. And it's DELICIOUS. Plus, they have Mexican cokes which we all know are far superior to U.S. cokes. Edit: The pizza shrank! I ordered a slice and it was half the size. Plus, the quality of the cheese totally changed (to worse). Wth?! We love trios and want to eat there every week like we have for years. But recently the quality has really diminished. Please go back to the way it was before trios, please!

After several encounters with their great pizzas, we finally decided to try something else from the menu. My wife had the Spaghetti and Meatball and I opted for a very Italian Penne alla Vodka. Where to start? I guess from the home made sauces, delicious and not overpowering. Going to the pasta which is perfectly cooked "al dente", the way it is supposed to be, not that imitation spaghetti-o's that a lot of places try to stick you with. The meatballs are great, fresh and very flavorful. The Penne alla Vodka actually uses real prosciutto, that is lightly cooked and not burned into a crisp. Overall a wonderful experience. Oh and one nigh we took the Spaghetti and Meatball all the way home from Philly and they still tasted wonderful after a 40 minutes commute. This place is a GEM. Like their other place in Glenside. Haven't tried the new establishment in Jenkintown yet, but it is on my list. From a "fresh of the boat Italian" this place is the real deal./

Fantastic sandwiches & wraps!

We placed our usual order and decided to have some cannoli for desert. We picked up our order and brought it home... No cannoli. I called and spoke to a woman who apologized and told us that she would make a note in the computer under our phone number and that next time we ordered we can get the cannoli that we paid for (not anything extra mind you). A few weeks go by and we place another order. We pick up the order and let the person behind the counter know that we were owed two orders of cannoli and that it was in the computer. He says "nothing here...can't help you". It's not like I'm trying to get something for free... Just the stuff I already paid for!
(1)Kristin A.
Great food. Great employees. Fast service. Almost everything on the menu is amazing. I always come here and haven't had one bad experience. I must also say that the counter girl, sara I believe her name is, is polite and a cute girl. Great place & highly recommended.
(5)Nicole F.
My rating is actually a 3.75. It's hard to say that I'm a fan (4 stars) after just one visit. But I'm close! We were looking for a quiet restaurant after 10 PM, where we could eat and talk, and we found Trios Trattoria. While looking at the menu, I wondered out loud what their vegetarian options were, thinking that they would just leave it up to me to find them on my own. Not so. The guy at the register jumped right in and pointed out all the vegetarian options and THEN recommended breads to go with the sandwiches he mentioned! Very cool. I got the roasted red pepper and portobello mushroom sandwich on focaccia bread. First, let me say that the bread was fresh, warm, soft, and tasty. All the characteristics I want in a bread. I could've just eaten the bread! The veggies were also flavored well. As closing time drew near, the gentleman at the register asked if we wanted to-go containers, but made it clear that, though they were closing in 5 minutes, he was not rushing us. And we didn't feel rushed. We continued to chat and chew, while we packed up what we were planning to take with us. When they started putting the chairs on the tables, we knew it was time to go. But, again, they never made us feel rushed. I don't get to that area very often, so that is the only reason I wouldn't run back there. But that doesn't mean I don't recommend it. Go.
(4)Daniel M.
food here is great, delivery is quick, and nice crew working there, definitely the right place to go or order from if your looking for a quality italian food/pizza joint
(5)Raj A.
Being a no Libs local, I usually stick with the pizza; it's as close to nyc style as I'll find in the area. That being said, I will sometimes go out on a limb and order whatever special they have on the chalkboard... Last night the special was orecchiette with shrimp and broccoli rabe for $13.99. I also ordered a slice of pepperoni while I was waiting which was fairly good (as usual). The pasta, though, was TERRIBLE. I'm not sure if it was the time I'd arrived (8:30p), or maybe the pending [fake] blizzard that everyone was prepping for... I rarely post bad reviews because I don't like to bring negative pub to my local spots, but I had to speak up about this entree. The pasta was undercooked, the sauce was watery and tasteless, and the shrimp and rabe were nonexistent. I didn't even try the salad but the bread that accompanied it was beyond stale. Cmon guys, you're better than that.
(1)Cassandra G.
Love this place. Love their food. Kinda pricey for pizza but I keep coming back so it must be worth it
(5)mike v.
I am a huge fan of their pizza-steak. It's unique and high quality. Overall, great food.
(4)Erika T.
When my salad arrived ((FAST & friendly delivery!)) I could not believe I paid $20 for a handful of Romaine with 5 shrimp and a seltzer water. Buyer's remorse, big time. It tasted good, but left me still very hungry. Don't bother with the salads here.
(2)Arielle F.
I I'm only giving 2 stars because the chicken Caesar salad was very good although very small for a "large". The hot wings were the worst I have ever had...they we so fatty and slimy and I ended up just throwing them away. Awful! First and last time ever ordering there.
(2)Kamil S.
Love the pizza!! My Favorite Pizza: Margarita w/ shrimp and eggplant; ) Honorable Mention: The Rustica, Lombardy & Vegetarian
(5)Nate F.
It's not worth it to order. The delivery fee, the tip, on top of it already being maybe a bit overpriced for the quality. The rustica I ordered was just decent. Can't say I wasn't a lil disappointed. To me it's better options in the area. But hey, I'm sure some of their menu items are good though. I wouldn't order again but I might stop by there some time and try a thin crust square.
(3)Christina M.
Well for starters their delivery spans a very wide range. I don't live close & they are able to deliver to my house. So that is a huge plus for me! Their crust is thin! Very thin which I love . They also have a gluten free. I'm don't follow the gluten free option but a lot of my friends do. I love the fact that they also have a wheat pizza option. They have a great margherita pizza. There delivery is always fast. They have never messed up my order. Another thing I love about their delivery is that I can call way ahead & tell them I at like 4 I will want it like at 7. Which is a huge deal since it usually takes me 1 1/2 hours to get home from school & or work & sometimes I don't have cell service when I'm traveling. They always know my name when I call. Very friendly & great food!
(5)Orange Julius C.
Trios is our go-to pizza shop. But, it can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's the best pizza ever! Other times, it's burnt and chewy. But it's mostly the best. Plus, Mexican coke and pizza is addictive.
(4)Omar S.
The food on the menu sounds good but don't be fooled , not so good at all , and the people behind the counter seem to not know what they are doing I came in a few times and noticed they always have someone in training , if you want to dine in get ready to hear loud and rude delivery guys with all they're friends tagging along with them, over all not worth the money and time.
(1)Megan M.
Stick to the thin crust square pizzas. I made the mistake of branching out to try some regular pizza there, and it was just average. The thin crust square specialty pizzas are winners... the other pizzas, just average.
(3)Theresa C.
Super excited to live close to this restaurant - pizzas are a little pricey, but were entirely worth it! The Carne and the Lombardy were both excellent, and the wings were spicy and delicious. I think I may have talked to the owner on the phone when I placed my order, as he talked me into ordering square pizza instead of round because "it was his niche." Shape is not as important to me as taste so I went for it. I thought the thin crust was great - not so thin as to be crackery, doughy enough to still be called pizza. Trios was poppin on a Friday night and our takeout order took about 30 minutes, just a heads up that they get busy.
(5)Matt R.
I'm giving them 5 stars for their pizza, which is what they do best. Their square, thin-crust pizza in particular is great, crispy, with a nice balance of flakiness and chewiness. The ingredients always taste fresh, and I find the toppings neither skimpy nor overdone. I live nearby and have ordered delivery and pickup/takeout many, many times, weekday and weekend, daytime and evening, and never had a problem. The look and decor of the place are definitely "pizza parlor" rather than "restaurant," but it's clean and nicely appointed. A real asset to the neighborhood.
(5)Joseph C.
I've been going here pretty regularly for a few years. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place before. Trios is, hands down, the best pizza in the whole city of Philadelphia. It doesn't matter if you want traditional or edgy, Trios has it and it's cooked perfectly. I would recommend ordering a fresh pizza because the reheated slices aren't as good, but they're still great if you're in a rush. The thin crust carne is ... there are no words. Perfectly balanced, fresh, not heavy. I really can't say enough good things about this particular pizza or Trios in general. Of course the price point is above your average pizza shop, but you get what you pay for. And what you get here is quality, expertly prepared pizza. Oh, I can't forget the parking lot. Super helpful.
(5)Gina M.
Well, i was a little apprehensive because of the location but I am glad i went in. The pizza was out of its world. The white pizza especially. Margherita pizza was phenomenal. The french fries, oh dont get me started. French fries have a place in my heart and they just took the first prize. The atmosphere is fine, just like most pizzerias. It can get a little crowded in there but thats because they know its good pizza! The fact that they have their own parking lot is awesome too. Trying to park in Fishtown can be a hassle. The staff was so nice. One guy in particular really took care of us because we had a big party today there. About 7 people.. He kept checking up on us and making sure we had enough of everything. I hope to be back!
(5)Kathy F.
I wanted to like this place...I really did. The people are so sweet and professional on the phone and in person they are even nicer. They're very welcoming and appreciative of your business and that's so important. However, the pizza wasn't so great, not worth the price, and the fries were soggy & not tasty at all. But like I said, customer service is definitely top notch....food, not so great.
(2)Keith M.
Just wanted to say we've been ordering for the last 3 years and we love so many items, especially the pizza. However, the reason I'm writing is because I ordered wings and they were delivered minus the instructions I requested. I called and they immediately insisted on making another and dropping them off. They were perfect! The best I've eaten from Trios. So, I just wanted to thank Trios for their amazing customer service and fabulous wings!
(5)Jackie F.
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! My pizza was ok until I found two strands of hair in it. I pulled one of the strands up from halfway down my throat. Disgusting!!!! Just as gross as the pizza, was the girls attitude who answered the phone when I called to report it. Definitely won't be ordering from them anymore.
(1)Mike C.
I tried to order something besides pizza, again, against my better judgement. I order the siciliano (or something like that). I should have know by the name. It was gross thin sausage patties on a terrible roll with cold broccoli rabe. The sausage was cheap, real cheap. Like something that should have be covered in government cheese. Sausage is generally cheap (and delicious) but how can you cut corners by getting the cheapest sausage on the planet? It was one step above dog food at best. I ended up throwing it out. Stick with the pizza at this place people.
(3)Christian S.
After three visits to Trios I can officially write a review. I hesitated writing a review in the past because I didn't have what Trio is known for, pizza, prior to my last visit. My very first visit was a spur of the moment decision with my coworkers. Since I had pizza the night before I was a little apprehensive about going. When we arrived at the establishment there was a board listing a bunch of specials. Since I was not interested in having pizza anyway, I went with the spaghetti and clams. Now when I order clams outside of a seafood or good steak establishment it's more than a toe in the water moment for me. Off course it was not the best Spaghetti and clams I shoved my face with, but I will order the same dish from here again without hesitation. On my second visit, I wasn't really sure what I wanted. On my first trip, my friend and fellow Yelper had a cheesesteak with banana peppers. That is what I had on my mind as I parked the car but, the specials board caught my eye again. The minute I saw the Sausage Panini listed the cheesesteak was no longer an option. Now the Paninis are not what you expect. They are pretty much just sandwiches and not placed in a Panini press...blah...blah...blah...who gives a rats a$$, that was one good sandwich. It took me some time before I was able to dig in because it was served to me seconds after it was finishing cooking. The sauce had a nice and easy kick to it. Now we finally get the heart & soul of Trios, their pizza. If we are going off first impressions I have to say it was not impressive at all. When I received my pizza it was cold. I guess the young lady heated it up and allowed it to sit while she was waiting for the kitchen to complete my friends order. Now, I did say to bring our food out at the same time, just thought the pizza would have went in a little later. I can't get the full effects of a slice if it is not warm, excuse me hot. You could have looked at the slice and realized it was not warm just by looking at the sauce. I am still a fan based upon the other items I have tried at Trio's. I will need to give the pizza another shot, but I realize everyone has their own interpretation of hot so I will have to be very direct
(4)Candace W.
If you're looking for quality takeout or delivery Trios is the place. The Arugula salad is always fresh and the pizza and pasta always have the right balance of ingredients. I definitely hit them up when I can't get out of the house. Their desert is pretty good and delivery is timely.
(4)Attila B.
UNEATABLE and CRAZY I can honestly say, it is the worst pizza I have ever had, ever. The pizza is made from a frozen premade dough and base topping. Like Jacks, Ellio's, Tombstone pizza... remember? The stuff that has a billion ingredients you could ever pronounce. Yeh that stuff. Giving me crappy as hell Conte's premade pizza in a Trio's box is absolutely not cool. I called them to ask if it was a premade frozen pizza - they said "yeh..." For something that costs $20+ I expected more effort/quality. I'm baffled...My mind is blown.
(1)Carolyn L.
I've avoided this place like the plague until now, but why? I guess the turnaround on this venue has just been so fast, that I never pay attention to whatever failing restaurant will be there next. Lucky for me, yelpers gave it a chance (and rave reviews) and curiosity got the best of me. It didn't hurt that they offered a $10 for $20 groupon. Our meal came to a whopping $2.80 + $10.00 for the groupon. Food: Way above average pizza place noms. I ordered the Penne Rosa (Penne with vodka sauce with peas & prosciutto), which was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised that the sauce wasn't an overly rich mess. Comes with a side salad and 2 garlic knots. Tip: save some of your side salad until your pasta comes because the acidity in the vinaigrette works well to cut the slightly rich component of the pasta. Bf ordered the Pollo Italiano: Breaded chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe, sharp provolone, and sun-dried tomatoes on a homemade roll. Well seasoned breading and overall, a good sandwich. Was a tad dry..could have used some olive oil or something. Super crazy big ups for making all of their breads, rolls, wrap, etc. fresh in-house everyday. Venue: Very clean, well organized seating area. FREE PARKING LOT! *heart* Enough seating for about 20 people. A small amount of outside seating is also available, if you so prefer-- Girard just isn't my idea of a scenic view. Eagles game on the flat-screen...AND...::drum roll:: it's BYOB! Staff: Uber friendly, but not in a superficial way. They are oddly sincere; a rarity these days. (Order at the register and they bring your food out to you, woohoo! Lazy Americans ftw!). Portion size: Think big. Eating here makes you wish you were leaving in stretchy-waisted-pants. Will I go back? In a word: Yes. I can easily see myself becoming a regular here. I will be returning for their pizza.
(4)Andy S.
These guys have great pizza. I've been going in for slices once a week for over a year and I've NEVER had an issue with the quality of the food or the personality of the staff. The owner is a young guy who looks like he runs a tight ship and takes a lot of pride in how the place is operated. If you're looking for an out of the box review, here goes... This place usually has 7-8 specialty pizzas out for slice buying. At any time, you cannot go wrong with a selection. The buffalo chicken slice is legit. The margherita slice is legit. The sausage and mushroom is legit. There isn't a knucklehead in the back, trying to reinvent the pizza wheel, wasting our time. Do you know what I'm talking about, when you walk into a pizza shop, and there are usually 1-2 pizzas that have been sitting there all day, because the guy in charge of making the pies thinks he's a lot smarter than he actually is? That doesn't happen here.
(4)Mario C.
Pancetta pizza square is all im going to say. The thin sliced potatoes and bacon make it just to die for. If you're looking to get a pizza out of the ordinary, and just plain delicious, Trios is the place. I have been here very often since my first time and i will keep coming for sure
(5)Teresa R.
My go to pizza place. Everything is awesome! Panini italiano is the best panini I've ever had, made on there homemade bread. Tomato pie is ridiculously good! Staff is always so friendly even when we call for delivery they are so nice! Love this place
(5)Sarah B.
Called ahead for a pick-up order - a large, square, half-Buffalo chicken, half BBQ chicken. It was a rainy Friday night and I had to wait on hold for a few minutes, but the woman I spoke with was really pleasant, so I didn't mind. When I arrived, I had to wait a few more minutes for my pizza to be ready. It was piping hot and smelled delicious. I'm mad at myself for forgetting to ask for cheese on the Buffalo chicken half of the pie - duh, Sarah. Nevertheless, I thought it was good and was just spicy enough.
(4)Thomas M.
So I have to give them credit for trying to keep people happy, after 2 hours and not receiving my full order (half after an hour and then nothing) I drove down to trios and requested my money back, Apparently I was there at the same time the owner was, and he was genuinely nice and was concerned about what happend, I appreciate that. It has been a great spot since it opened and they can get busy, I understand, and he understood that this was simply unacceptable, he gave a a credit for the full amount of my order toward my next order...which i have to say saved me from never ordering there again. I still say trios is the best delivery pizza on this side of the city, and I know i'll come back towards a 5 star review in the near future, and this was a good step to keeping a customer. Thanks! Original Review: 1 star Normally I love this place, but seriously, today took things too far, I live 4 blocks away, I ordered a pizza and chicken fingers, an hour later my pizza gets here....but no chicken fingers, they charged me for them and the guy makes me pay for the whole thing and will be right back with the rest of my order.....over half an hour later and still nothing. I'm very close to never ordering from here again
(3)Sierra F.
Just had a lovely meal here. We had tried their pizza before, and it was quite good, but we had hoped to go out for more of a substantial, not so greasy dinner, and our plans for a different restaurant fell through, so we ended up here. It might not have the desired ambiance for a romantic night out, but everyone was friendly and attentive, and our pasta dishes were surprisingly delicious. So far, everything we've had here has been not only delicious, but priced very reasonably. We will definitely be back... soon and often! *UPDATE* We followed up on my promise to come back... and we are officially hooked. Their pastas are delicious, and there are lots of vegetarian options... my non-vegetarian boyfriend can attest to the excellence of the meat/fish dishes, too. He says he is surprised at how good they were, especially at the prices. I personally love the portobello mushroom ravioli, and my boyfriend had some salmon and bowtie pasta dish with pink vodka sauce, which he said was unbelievable. We are also partial to the Margherita pizza. Service is consistently extremely friendly and attentive. Highly, highly recommend Trios!!
(4)Jeffrey S.
Some good stuff!!! I had the baked ziti w/ spinach, and it came with some garlic bread and a side salad. The portion was huge!!! I felt like I was eating a home-cooked meal!! That is hard to come by when you order out! Highly recommended!
(5)Gabrielle I.
This is a solid place to order delivery on a night in. The pizza is pretty tasty and I reccomend the homemade fried mozzarella, it is awesome. Delivery is always super fast as well.
(4)JGVC G.
Trapped in work and needed some grub. I called a few local pizza places and low and behold-they do not take Amex. "The company is paying, so sorry, I have take my business elsewhere." I called Trio's and the 1st question I asked was if they took Amex. The kind man on the phone emphatically said, "yes." Thank God! I placed my order and received it in less than 40 minutes. The delivery guy was cool, they used "green" containers (I really don't care, but some do), and it arrived hot! When I opened the pizzas, they were thin-crusted, cooked to perfection, and smelled amazing! I ordered a regular pizza and a BBQ chicken. They were both sooooo good. The BBQ chicken was a little better, but that is not to say the regular pizza was not great either. I also ordered onion rings and mozzarella fries...both were descent, nothing to rave about, but good! I will definitely be patronizing them, again, soon. I was really surprised at how my little-old expectations were exceeded. Solid choice!

I gave Trios a 4 star review back in 2012 but have to revise it in 2014 to a 2 star review. The food has gone down hill slowly over time in both consistency and quality, and the level of service has plummeted from folks genuinely trying to help you to folks who don't care and are argumentative with customers. The staff are repeatedly way too involved with their friends (drivers? other?) in the seating area than taking orders or providing service. Trios also are seems to be occasionally randomly closed with no sort of "hey we are closed" message when you call, the phone just rings and rings. Trios is now in indefinite time out with me due to my latest failed interaction with them. While my frustration level is high right now, they are still not in the oh-mai-gawd terrible category that one star places get.

Baked Ziti arrives at my door right on time. Said baked ziti gets opened..... a little mozzarella cheese sliding off noodles, broccoli as promised, a bunch of pasta water sloshing around at the bottom. The noodles were cooked well, but was missing any type of flavor or......TOMATO SAUCE! ...and it wasn't even baked. Very odd dish..very disappointing. Shoulda stuck with Franco's.

For a place that apparently is in a former KFC, Trios has excellent food. The pizza has a great sauce (just a little tangy); the salads have nice greens in them in a good vinaigrette dressing. The pastas are nice as well. I do wish they had more vegan options though. I like that I can pay with LevelUp.

Can I just say, HI-YAAAAHHHHH!!!! Finally, a great piece of pizza in Philadelphia! Granted, everyone has different tastes - but I'm from NY & have been incredibly spoiled with good pizza.... I've been in Philly for 4 years now & have had so-so pizza here & there..... I just tried Trios' thin crust square pizza (1/2 regular/tomato pie & 1/2 white) & IT WAS AWESOME! I look forward to trying what else these guys have up their sleeve. BTW - met the owners, & they're really great guys, & the service was really nice too (big plus!). THANKS TRIOS! =*)
(5)Allie C.
2 stars one for decent portion and price 11.99 spag/3 mbs. They lose stars due to a 3.50$ delivery charge? And then I have to add a tip now I'm paying 18-20$ for a tin on spaghetti which mind you had a horrible raw onion taste, probably due to the huge onions throughout like nothing I have ever seen or tasted. Had to drown it in parm cheese salt and pepper

I ordered a pizza and a burger from them on a weekday. The pizza was half "Invernale" and half "Margherita". It took only twenty minutes to arrive but everything was COLD! The Invernale pizza was cold, it looked like it was pre baked pizza thin crust with cheese and than it was topped with this salad of arugula, proscuitto, grated cheese, diced tomatoes with vinegar and lots of salt. The pizza toping of this salad was falling of the pizza impossible to eat. The Margherita pizza was also COLD it looked like it was pre backed and reheated on top was few slices of mozzarella and tomato. The burger was COLD also as the fries. The only thing that looked fresh was the burger. The fries were COLD and dry NOT FRESH.
(2)Brad P.
The tomato pie is good and the wings are above average. This is a solid, cheap place to get a delivery meal at. There's no craziness or big surprises here. It is just a good pizza place.
(4)Jules C.
Solid delivery spot with consistently good product. The thin crust square margherita is my favorite with a little arugula on top. Delivery time is standard for this neighborhood usually hovering around 45 minutes to an hour. I have never had their pasta entrees but have heard good things.
(4)Rachel S.
Had the day off, mid week and was looking for a quick bite while running errands. I've had Trios before, at a friends' house but had never been inside the joint. It's clean, attractive and encourages you to sit and scarf down your pizza (sometimes those slice places make you want to take your food and run!). It's a great addition to Girard Ave which needs some love.
(4)Steven C.
As a New Yorker in Philly, this place deliveres the best slice south of NY. I had an eggplant slice & a regular slice and both were big, thin, and very much like NY Pizza. The prices were right and the people working there were cool.
(4)Ann V.
I think I crave the Invernale Pizza all day, everyday. Just love the arugula and prosciutto combination. It's light and fresh - all i could ever want in a pizza.
(5)Nate A.
Yes! Read the review in Philly Mag's 'Best Pizza' issue and was stoked to find Trios just beneath my radar up at Girard and 4th. I ordered for takeout last night and got a piping-hot 'tomato pie' (which is Trios' shorthand for thin crust) and couldn't have been happier. Pros -Excellent crust on the 'tomato pie.' -Comes in a square! -Fresh and hot -Service - friendly, helpful dudes. Cons -DirectTV in the waiting room was showing the Cardinals/Reds game?!?!
(5)Marie M.
love this place, eat there at least once a week. I would give a 5 star for the food but I am deducting because of the following reasons: 1. The prices are a little high compared to other pizza places in the area. 2. Sometimes the square thin crust is hit or miss (not as good when it's thicker however when its paper thin, especially with the margherita or buffalo chicken pizza, its amazing). 3. The cookies they sell are the absolute worst, most disgusting, always burnt on the bottom, overpriced chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. 4. the fried items that I've had there are not that great. Calamari is basically all breading and you can tell it comes from the freezer. Fries are greasty The mozzarella sticks are homemade but always super greasy and the breading has a weird taste, I can't describe it, but the few times I've ordered them (I tend to give things a second chance in case it was bad day, bad cook etc) and I pick off the breading and eat the cheese lol. Salads are always good especially the breaded chicken cutlet. The Caesar salad is your basic takeout caesar salad (grated parmesan cheese, container of romaine lettuce, croutons and dressing) but I would recommend the shrimp salad, arugula salad as well as the greek salad over the caesar. They make their own bread, its like a pita bread, I get cheesesteaks time to time and it's decent but the bread throws off the "philly cheesesteak" essence. The rustica and thin square cheese are also great. I've gotten the regular slices but nothing to write home about. If you go there in the mid afternoon (2 pm-4 pm), there tends to be a bunch of high school kids that are semi-loitering which is sort of annoying but that's just a personal annoyance lol. They recently added more desserts and the Tiramisu is UNBELIEVABLY good. It's like $5 bucks for a slice which again, is high but it is delicious. Delivery is also hit or miss (I live just a few streets over and sometimes it takes 30 minutes and sometimes it takes over an hour, just depends how busy they are I guess.) Overall I'm a huge fan of this place.
(4)Anthony S.
Trios Trattoria is just a block away from me. Walking over and placing a order and walking my Rustica pie back home wasn't a problem even in the snow. I was pleasantly surprised to see a good amount of people in there at 3pm during the week during a mild snow storm. That's a good sign! Having grown up for 30 years just a couple miles from Trenton, and tasting the best Trenton has to offer, I'm not sure I would agree with their claim of "Trenton Style Pizza". But then agin, it's not like anyone else in Philly has much of a clue, so Trios DOES come pretty close. This pie is the kind that I can eat on any given day of the week. It has a nice warm cozy feel to it. Not buried in 3 different kinds of cheese, not soggy from too much red sauce and not so many toppings that it would strain this delicate and delicious crust. This is really close to how tomato pie should be done. They've perfected the art of composition and construction but I think my pie needed another minute in the oven and I wasn't crazy about the dry spices added for me. Some minced garlic would have been nice too. I've been in pain for the last few hours because I couldn't help myself from eating the whole thing!! It's light and delicious and easy to shove down the ole food chute. You can compare all you want to the other purveyors of pizzas in the neighborhood, they all have their place no doubt. But I'm going to call Trios Trattoria my home town pie - because although they didn't nail it, they did a great job bringing a good tomato pie to Philadelphia. Finally!

From the ashes of some punny named Chinese place came El Wingador. El Wingador begat Curbside Chef. Curbside Chef fell and that is how we've arrived at Trios Trattoria. I figured I better get here quickly as no restaurant has survived in this location very long. They redid the inside and there is ample seating and a few outside tables. After looking at all the different types of pizza they had, I ordered a Sicilian and Spinach slice. The guy behind the counter was nice and told me which each one was. They were heated up very quickly and I sat down to eat. The pizza was really good. Thin crispy crust that was almost a little sweet. I thought the Sicilian would be a little better than it was but it was by no means bad. Not as crispy as the spinach but maybe because I ate it second. I'll be interested to see how this place does since it's pretty close to Rustica. Their menu seems a little more diverse though so maybe they can keep up. Their pizza toppings didn't seem as creative as Rustica, there were still some interesting ones though. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. Really I'd give it a 3.5 but I rounded up since I enjoyed the slice and I wouldn't mind seeing this place stay open a bit longer than it's predecessors. I'm not sure they're Rustica level pizza just yet, but they're leaps and bounds above the rest of the Philly pizza shops I've been to. It really should be considered a crime what some of these places will try and pass off as pizza.

Oh Trios, I sort of feel bad giving you a 2 star review, but last night was beyond unacceptable and resulted in me throwing 2/3 of my food away. When one thinks of baked ziti whether it's with spinach, broccoli or whatever; BAKED ZITI HAS A TOMATO SAUCE COMPONENT TO IT. Either don't call it baked ziti and put it on your menu or if it's not too hard to do, add sauce to it and bake it. I ordered the baked ziti with spinach and instead received macaroni and cheese with spinach floating on top of oil and garlic. Actually the container was marred in transit so the paper bag soaked up a fair amount of the oil. Ok, no tomato sauce in their baked ziti aside, let's talk sautéed spinach in garlic and oil. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I know canned spinach when I taste it vs. sautéed fresh baby spinach. If they aren't using canned spinach then they're doing something else wrong. I'm 99% sure it was canned spinach thrown together with ziti and cheese. Now maybe I erred in ordering delivery 30 mins before closing time on a Sunday but I double checked with them over the phone and they said it was fine. I would have much rather they told me it was too late to order delivery. I bring up this point because it took about 45 minutes to get my faux baked ziti dish, there was no garlic knots or small salad to accompany the dish as advertised and reiterated by the phone phone attendant, and by the time I received and opened my order it was too late to call back and have something done about it. I also ordered mozzarella sticks. These were ok. I might have to try them again at the shop, straight from the fry bin vs. delivery; they were a bit soggy, firm and warm at best by the time I got them. I've ordered pizza from here numerous times and it is anywhere from good to really good. I recommend the buffalo chicken pie; plenty of spicy, tangy chicken drizzled lightly with blue cheese dressing. I would give them 4 stars for their pizza alone but if you have one of their pizzas leftover in your fridge and are craving baked ziti on Sunday night at 9:30... 2 stars.

Living right next door to trios for almost a year now, I'm ashamed for not giving it a chance sooner. I know some people aren't going to like this but I'll come right out and say it anyway. This pizza is better than Rustica. Yep, you heard it right. If you think I'm wrong try it and tell me why. I've been in a few times now and had my fair share of slices. Veggie = awesome, pepperoni = awesome, sausage = JAWESOME. The sausage is perfectly seasoned, and it doesn't taste like random ACME industries sausage. That's not all though, their service is amazing. Usually service and pizza places don't go together, but they do here. I sit down and wait for my slices to come out of the oven, expecting to pick up them when they're finished, and a nice lady brings them out for me before I even realize they're done. You can definitely tell that the people who work here take pride in their work, it shows in the quality of their food and service. Keep up the good work Trios, I'll be back soon.

Trios is now my go to neighborhood pizza place. After moving to Philly from the suburbs more years ago than I care to discuss I was so bummed to come to the realization that pizza in Philly is severely lacking. My absolute favorite pizza in the city is Joe's on 16th street, but since that's not my neighborhood I rarely get it. Trios is pretty close to they yum factor served at Joe's. They offer both square thin crust and regular round pies. I've had slices of both in house and didn't really taste much of a difference, especially for the price difference. Perhaps a whole pie would be different. I've also had the fries here, which are good, but tend to get soft if you don't eat them right away. Desserts were fine too.
(4)Gavin S.
Stopped in for a quick bite before a show at The Fire a block away. From the hostess/cashier Carrie (sp?) to the four different thin crust slices to canolis to espresso, everything was better than expected. I live in Jersey but I took a takeout menu and I'm planning on coming back.
(4)A. Jordan R.
I've heard this place is under new ownership and apparently pretty good now. Decided to give it a second try last night. WOW. HOLY MOLY. The thin crust pizza is like nothing I've ever eaten before but it was SO delicious. Not too greasy but oh so tasty. Delivered right to Fishtown. The guy who took my order was polite. Never thought I would say this, but Trios is my new spot for pizza.
(5)Michael M.
We have been ordering from them for some time now and the food and service is consistently good. Food arrives hot and doesn't take a month of Sundays to get it to you. Pizza: Order the square pie....you won't regret it! French Fries: They are fresh cut and awesome! Chicken Wings: Very Large and Tasty! I'll start to experiment with the menu from here on out, but the three things above are dietary staples especially when I get home from a long road trip. Keep it up Trio's! Cheers, Darth
(5)Paul F.
I used to love this place and I think they may have changed management or something. They have done some minor remodeling, which is acceptable, but they changed their wings to some awful boneless, chicken product. Figured I'd give it a try and it was a total mistake. Their pizza is generally good but this time was tasteless and cold. Usually, the customer service is really good but this time was just OK.
(1)Paul C.
My wife and I ordered a cheese steak and a thin crust square pizza. The cheese steak was hot, gooey and tasty. The pizza was crispy and very tasty. They have off street parking and are very clean as well as very friendly. Great pizza restaurant but they offer much more please pay them a visit.
(5)Patty G.
Trios is my favorite pizza place in Northern Liberties! While their menu offers a variety of things, including sandwiches and pasta, this review is completely based on the pizza as it's the only thing I've had (and the only thing you need to have, it's that good). Upon moving to the neighborhood awhile back, I was bummed to find so many mediocre (or worse) pizza joints. Then I tried Trios and new I found my place! They offer two types of pizza, round and square. Both are good but get the square. The crust is thin and crispy, not at all like the Sicilian style you typically think of when you hear square pizza. The sauce is chunky and the fresh mozzarella is melted to perfection. If you're able to pick it up, do so. Delivery can take forever and your pizza won't always be hot when it arrives. The only other con is the price. $16-18 for a pizza is pretty pricey. It's a way better than average pie at a higher than average cost.
(4)Caroline D.
We love Trios. The plain pizza is thin crust and unlike most other pizza in Philadelphia. We also like the pizza with arugula and prusciutto. The staff is really friendly and service is always quick. My husband tried the cheesesteak once and it was kind of weird - served on a crispy focaccia roll of some kind. We stick with the pizza and it is our new "go to".
(4)Susan F.
...Wanted to add that I love that they use mostly eco-friendly delivery packaging so I don't have to feel so bad about the usual mound of trash that goes along with being a take-out junkie.
(5)Jack H.
The pizza is good but not that good I can get pizza that's just as good if not better at a better price
(3)Jan Z.
This pizza joint has terrific food. It would get 5 stars from me if it was a real restaurant and not just a pizza joint. The staff is delightful. The food pizza, pasta, salads and sandwiches are all great. And they provide catering. I'll be back even though it's just a pizza joint.
(4)Adam R.
Trios Trattoria - the best pizza, steaks, and fries in the area. Also good $, better than rustica, or any other place in the hood. I can't beleive i didnt try them until now. YUM
(5)Sandy L.
I bought a Living Social coupon to try this place out, as I live nearby in Port Richmond area. My husband and I went on our anniversary, I think because it had the name trattoria in it I thought it was a sit down restaurant- not quite what I expected. Yes you can sit, but it is a glorified pizzeria in the "sit down" arena of things. BBut that will not hurt my review here- as I loved the food! And the hubby did too! We shared a antipasto salad, and the homemade vinagrette was just right- not too sour, not too sweet- and the meat and salad were fresh and tasty - no "bag" lettuce! Loved the homemmade garlic knots that came with it too... We got a white garlic pizza... I maybe could have used a bit more cheese, but next time i will just oder extra- because the flavor was right on!! Loved the thin crust pizza- toasty on the bottom, nice crust on the endge. and I can say the men at the counter were very nice, asked me and my husband seperately what we liked about our dinner. We even shared a cannolli and it was the best - no gritty sugar like some places, and creamy was the keyword! The shells were fresh too. so all in all - defiantely a keeper - next time I want to try some pasta dishes. Only negative, the name does express the food quality but not the seating area, and the outside area appeared inviting, but it was very inviting to a few unfortunate homelss people that were busy begging the minute we walked out of the front door. Hey, that can even happen in the nicest places in center city, so not a biggy, but it and I know they can't really change that so much. But wouldn't take my rich inlaws here due to locality only. would bring it home instead :)
(4)mimi h.
I am not sure what has happened to this place, but it has gone way down hill. It's pretty terrible these days. The quality of the food is bad and the portions are half the size that they were. Considering the high prices have not changed to reflect the fact that you now get half the food that you used to. I basically feel like I've just been totally ripped off. The salads that cost between 10-14$ used to be so good, and more than enough for 2 people. The one I just received was pathetic. And it came with the wrong dressing. Not to mention the fries. They were a cold greasy mush of a mess. And I think you get more in a McDonalds happy meal... Totally bummed that I just spent almost $30 bucks on crappy food that took over 2 hrs to be delivered.
(1)FRANK P.
Everything was bland and tasteless including the waitress. Had the 'Pollo Limone,' a flavorless slab of meat that must had laid in the freezer long past its due date.
(2)Kenya A.
Trois has the best pizza and salad in town. I actually travel 20 minutes and pass a dozen of pizza places to get here. It is well worth it too!
(5)John K.
Pizza Schmizza. If I want good pizza, I'll go to Rustica. I'm here because it's after 9 and most of the takeout places in No-Libs are closed. Give me a cheese steak. The first time I had it, I was a little confused. Meat and cheese were fine, if unremarkable. But the bread - this isn't Sarcone's, or Amaroso, or anything I've seen before. I guess it's closest to Portuguese bread or a panini, and it's a refreshing change of pace. Hearty without being too crusty and big without overwhelming the rest of the sandwich. While this is not a destination sandwich (ala Paesano's, it's a sandwich I enjoy having in my neighborhood, and one that provide comfort on a cold night after a long day. One more note, the customer service here is impeccable..
(4)Me J.
Invernale Get it The best pizza ever
(5)Wesley S.
The pizza at this place is just absolutely amazing, granted I've only had one or two particular varieties there but hey why mess with a good thing. It is definitely the best pizza I have had in Philadelphia by far. The only negative I can give thus far is that I have seen their newly released menu, and they have raised their prices quite high. I might still spring for it from time to time, but it won't be a regular thing with prices as high as they have now changed to. If you want to split a pie with friends though, this is a great joint to do it at.
(5)Patrice B.
This place has had more management changes than failed Lindsay Lohan drug test, but I hope they stay with the current. Last time I went everything was delish (yeah I just Rachel Rayed yelp). Who knew a Panini was actually a sub? Either way I have enjoyed everything I have eaten off the menu. So much so I'm not afraid to switch it up. Like in other places, once you find what you like you stick to that one item because you're scared you won't like anything else. And the one time you do switch it up the food is less than par. You call yourself "stupid" and say you will never do that again. Do it here!
(4)adrienne c.
I have lived in this neighborhood for a little over five years, and as others have noted, I have watched this location sadly change hands more times than I can remember. I also have to admit that I was hesitant to eat here knowing that it wasn't in the most successful location, so it wasn't until a friend brought over two of their pizzas a few nights ago that I was able to unknowingly try their food. Thank God I did, because the pizza is amazing. That night I was with vegetarians so they ordered a plain thin square and another one that was covered in vegetables. Both versions were the most perfect thin crust pizzas topped with incredibly fresh ingredients. The next day I came home to serendipitously discover their menu stuck in my front door. Since then I have ordered the thin square with chicken and it was just as good as the vegetarian pies I had the other night. I know people had problems with delivery so I ordered my pizza for pick up. I am very happy that I did, because the 4 or 5 guys that were behind the counter not only had some of the best customer service I have ever experienced, but all were incredibly attractive. NOT that this fact influences my opinion on their pizza, but hey, handsome men are never a negative.
(5)K O.
This place is so awesome that I want to give everyone who works there a hug every time I come in. When I get pick up, it's hot, fresh and delicious. And guess what? When I order delivery, it's hot, fresh and delicious. Impossible? I thought so, too. I'm torn on what's the best. If the owner doesn't know it already, you should - your employees are AWESOME. I've never had anyone greet me who was anything less than friendly and enthusiastic. A+ on your hiring methods. From cashier to cook to delivery dude, all are fantastic. The mere fact that you can order a half order of fries tells you they're customer friendly and certainly appeal to people like me who want to try a bit of everything. And if you're a fan of including a whole bunch of sauces? I ordered an extra honey mustard AFTER I was totaled but before I paid. Total before extras? 11.07. Total after? 11.07. Love it. I've had almost everything here....pizza, paninis, wings (FANTASTIC - not many places in NoLibs that are), and it has always been amazing. Trios, Im having Thanksgiving at my place...wanna cater?
(5)Kate M.
The Pizza square is awesome!! I will just say one thing though. We always get delivery from them, so maybe this doesn't happen if you eat there. The square pizza is a must, however, every time I get it the center of the square is soggy and the edges are perfectly crisp? ! really disappointing in that regard. Think I will move on from this pizza relationship.
(3)Kristen S.
First, let me start with the fact that they have an AMAZING product. The square pizza is amazing! The perfect crispy crust, a good tomato to cheese ratio for a "tomato pie". Why not a 5 star?I live a few blocks away from here. Of course, my lazy self always orders delivery instead of going to pick up my pizza myself. With that said, maybe I deserve the delivery headaches because of my laziness but these people cannot seem to get an order right the whole way through. They have forgotten bottles of soda, lost my credit card payment (multiple times in the same night) and brought me the wrong pizza. I know you're a new business, but how hard is it to write an order down and check before you leave? I WILL keep ordering because the pizza is THAT good, but I can't wait for the day they get their delivery together!
(3)Marci P.
Everything I've gotten from Trios has been amazingly fresh and SOOO delicious! The home made bread on the sandwiches melt in your mouth. From my experience, Trios tops Rustica and the other pizzaria's in the neighborhood for sure.My boyfriend and I received our delivery in under 20 minutes, which is unheard of in Northern Liberties! Thank you Trios!
(5)Flora W.
Terrific! I like the tomato pizza here!
(4)Alice T.
First, food is great. If you like THIN SQUARE Pizza, then go to this place. It has nice fresh ingredients, and the combinations are very tasty. Second, DO NO ORDER FOR DELIVERY. If you do, your food will arrive LATE, COLD, and COMPLETELY WRONG. They really should NOT offer delivery as an option. The delivery guy we had couldn't find our apt (it was 1.5 blocks away), we had a large order for a big group - how hard was it to make 4 PLAIN PIES, two-2 liter cokes, and 2 orders of fries? I just don't get it. Overall, the food is great, just order it in person or pick it up yourself.
(4)Gabrielle B.
Great pizza! I ordered a plain square style and it was perfect. I always say you need to order a plain first to see if their pizza is truly good (gotta go classic). It's thin & crispy, and has the perfect amount of cheese and sauce (which has chunks of tomato in it). My room mate and I ate a large to ourselves in less than 12 hours. Will definitely be ordering again soon!
(5)Tony F.
It seems to me that every experience at Trios is better than the last. Haven't eaten in yet, but it looks pretty comfy in there, and with tables outside, might be a good walk-to spot with my dog. BYOB, too, which is always appreciated. Last trip, we had the homemade mushroom raviolis - awesome! - they are served with spinach and plenty of sauteed garlic in a light white wine sauce. Farfalle pasta with chicken was also very good. Nice side salads and a couple of bread knots are included with each entree. Perfect takeaway dinner for the park!
(4)jack j.
Ok people, just because it's the only pizza place in NoLibs doesn't mean its good. First of all, it's a total rip off. Got a buffalo chicken cheesesteak and it came to $11. It was a crappy roll (which didn't hold any of it in) and plain chunky buffalo chicken. There was nothing to it?! And it was $11, came with nothing at all, i think not. NEVER order the plain italian, so boring it makes eating cardboard look delicious. Pizza is alright, nothing special. My vote, go to paesanos or georges where you can get a huge hooked up hoagie for literally half the price. Pros: Friendly staff, nice place. Cons: Ridiculously over priced food, sandwiches are boring, rolls suck D. Why can't you get some good regular hoagie rolls like paesanos or pats? Who want's all their food falling out every second? How would Michael J Fox eat one?!
(1)Joli R.
Trios is good. Their aesthetic is strangely contradictory, but charming nonetheless. For one, their pizza is delicious. You can tell that a lot of love goes into it. I could stare at their myriad of piping hot Rusticas near the cash register for hours. As goodness is far from under-appreciated in this town, the prices reflect said pizzal (sic) artisanship, and that's fine. But if you pull your greasy nose back from the pane of glass separating the dining area from the kitchen, you'll notice that the place is essentially a re-appropriated fast food restaurant; for all of its culinary artistry, don't expect a lick of ambiance if you choose to eat in-house! For god's sake, they don't even have a soda fountain! If I'm going to spend $15 on a calzone, I'd prefer to eat it as a "sit-down" meal--no worries if that'd mean dropping a tip at the end. Maybe it's just me, but choosing a bottled Coca Cola product from a fridge and eating on a bunch of paper plates kind of numbs the beauty of the product that I'm supposed to be enjoying. Beyond these qualms, the food is good and the feel isn't *too* strange. In fact, they actually have some super quirky paintings on the windows that really enhance interior environment. It just seems a little caddywhompus at times. Oh, and the register guy gave us free sausage in our vegetarian calzone, which was super sweet of him. Kindness like that shouldn't be overlooked.
(4)Jill R.
If you live in No Libs and are looking for authentic pizzeria style pizza then this is your place. The pizza is always fresh, has a great crust - overall yummy. In my opinion this place is better than Rustica for a plain cheese slice, however, if you are looking for gourmet then check out Rustica.
(4)Linda G.
We love love love their square tomato pie. Dough is thin and so good. Tomatoes are super flavorful and fresh. Just enough cheese. We have served many times to our N Jersey and New York friends and all have loved. Its not inexpensive but worth every penny. Also - the staff is always warm and kind and so friendly. You can tell the new(ish) owner really takes pride in their business. If you choose to eat in, they even give you real plates!
(5)Irene B.
If you want expensive pizza ok quality go to Rustica. If you want pizza and cheese steaks that leave you wanting more. Then Trios is the place. This neighborhood restaurant is fantastic. The people are wonderful and welcoming to their customers. Its like coming back to the old Northern Liberties when I was a kid. Its a nice change to see....
(5)Tanya T.
I live a few blocks from this place and was curious to try this since I received a menu on my door a few months back. Craving pizza one sunday, we decided to try this place out. WOW what a great idea! I ordered a large thin slice bbq chicken pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. the pizza was HUGE and in those square pizza cuts. the pizza was awesome and just the right amount of thickness! spaghetti was pretty decent too not too much sauce but i am a saucy type of person i suppose so that all depends on preference. anyways will definitely be ordering here again soon!
(4)Greg T.
I have had Trios several times now and have never been disappointed. The pizzas are very good. I have tried the BBQ chicken and the white and both were above average. My wife always gets the sausage panini, so one day I tried it and now I can understand why she always gets it. It was delicious. The frech fries are freshly made and the salads are also very fresh. Most recently I tried the Penne Rosa and it was the first time I was not completely happy with my meal. It was ok, but lacked any really distinctive flavor.

Trios is amazing! Their delivery time was quick and have always been pleased with their customer service. Great job!

Overall, pretty good place. Although it was empty on a Thursday night, we were happy with the pizza and the Caesar salad. Pizza could use a little more cheese but the sausage was awesome.

I went to go see an apartment a few blocks from here, luckily I got the apt so I can eat pizza from here again. Its really good and can't wait to try out everything.

This place is amazing - first of all its clean and on the border line Northern Liberties that says a lot! Service was friendly, and you get to meet the owner Sal who comes out to greet you and makes sure your meal was good. I was with a big group of people and we got calamari, and mussels for starters, the calamari was fresh and cooked perfectly. Some of us got pizza (which is the best I've tasted in Philly) and others pasta, everything was good. This is much more than your average pizzeria - it feels more like a cafe you'd find in NY.

I ordered a large cheesesteak pizza, buffalo wings & fries on Saturday night @ 10:00 pm, anxiously waiting 20 minutes to sink my teeth into a juicy oozing cheese pizza slice. Lo & behold when me & my boyfriend received our pizza, we opened our box & to our dismay, saw a plain cheese pizza with a side of soggy limp fries. We ate a slice of pizza each & were pretty grossed out by the stale yeasty taste. The only good thing about our experience were the mild buffalo wings which even though they were mild, had good flavor & had plenty of meat on each wing. Frustrated, I called Trios again & told them about our situation, & was told that the guy who took my order incorrectly had already left. So the woman who heard what I had to say gave me a credit for a new pizza & entered my information into their computer system. Based on the experience that I've had with Trios, despite the good reviews, I'm pretty sure I won't be redeeming that free large pizza anytime soon.

Pretty solid pizza. I'm eating a tomato pie as I type, and it is making me happy! Thin, crispy, and very flavorful. Yum!

This is the best pizza spot around fishtown besides Tacconill's, If you are looking for good pizza on a day where Tacconlli's is closed then Trio's is it. I was not a fan of the pasta, I tried it once and the sauce (gravy) was thick and bland and the penne was horrible and very, very al dente. I should try it again before stating my opinion but every time I order from there I want there pizza!! Their garden salad it super good a little expensive but you have to pay for quality. All in all the pizza is real and it's great. I am so happy they came into my life.. or at least happy they came into my neighborhood.

BEST PIZZA IN THE CITY! I have to say, my favorite pizza is Santucci's. I live in Old City and have to drive all the way up to NE to pick it up which is a pain but so worth the taste. After having Trios square pizza...I don't have to leave my house. The pizza is just a good and they deliver!! The sauce isn't on the top but it tastes sooo good! Def recommend trying it this place out :)

Seriously, unexpected greatness. My dad and I have been going twice a week for the last three weeks around lunch time for one of their square, "Trenton-style" pies. The owner is super-friendly and the guy they have making pizzas is really helpful, letting you know what's good. We always take his reccomendations. The pizza is light, crispy and packs a lot of flavor without making you feel like crap an hour later. Not too greasy, not too cheesy. My dad and have no problem housing a whole pizza between us. Perfectly filling. We've tried a spinach, garlic and olive oil white pie, a tomato and mozzarella pie, a pepperoni pie and yesterday we got the "ultimate." Good for when you need to feel stuffed, it comes with sausage, mushrooms, red onions and roasted peppers. The red onions are a nice touch. Check this place out!!!!

My go-to place for pizza. Try the Rustica thin square pizza topped with sausage, mushrooms, garllc, and fresh tomato sauce and you will be hooked. I had to stop myself from devouring a whole pie. Service is always good. They also carry desserts, so far their tiramisu tastes better than the ones I ordered at most restaurants.

Trios Trattoria is fantastic, prices are really reasonable and the large is a really good and big size. We ordered the Tomato Pie with whole wheat crust, probably wouldn't do the whole wheat crust again just because I think the regular would be a lot better. But very thin, fresh ingredients and made with a lot of care. Customer service was excellent as well so I'll definitely pick up pizza from here again.

I was reading Foobooz one day and they had a post asking people what their favorite pizza was, other than the usual suspects, such as Tacconelli's, Osteria, Stella, etc. I noticed several people comment that they really liked the thin square pizza at Trios Trattoria, which happens to be close by, so of course I had to try it (delivered). Very good! I got a small Ultimate, which has sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and I added pepperoni because I was in the mood for pepperoni. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy and the toppings were great, I especially liked the sausage. Since the crust is thin and it's cut in small square pieces, it's easy to eat and eat and before you realize it, half the pizza is gone and you feel guilty for eating so much. Luckily I stopped myself because the leftovers tasted really good reheated in the oven the next day. I noticed they also have traditional round pizza, but I can't imagine ordering anything but the thin square.

Excellent, excellent pizza! Just go and try it. Best in Northern Liberties, hands down. If you love thin and crispy crust try the square and if you love traditional, yet stil pretty thin, then try the round. The sausage is delicious. My only complaint is they are skimpy with the sausage, but this was my first time so maybe that was not the norm. I'm going back and if you haven't been there yet, you need to go now.

thin crust tomato pie - try it - it's excellent. sauce isn't sweet at all (my pizza pet peeve)... tomatoes are chunky and delicious... cheese isn't too greasy. personally i don't like a pizza entirely covered in cheese, and this pizza has the perfect cheese:sauce:crust ratio. reheats nicely too. the owner's cool, the place is clean and quick and friendly, the prices are cheap. they are supposedly working on getting a liquor license. go trios.

My favorite pizza shop in Northern Liberties and possibly the entire city. Service has always been good and staff is very friendly.

I'm not sure where Trattoria gets the multigrain rolls for their sandwiches, but they are soooo yummy. Perfect blend of crunchy, ruffage-y exterior, soft and tasty innards. Haven't had the pizza yet since I clearly can't get over the rolls, but it also looks awesome. Only drawback is the guy who answers the phone...he seems a little...how do I put it delicately....slow? Yeah, you'll have to explain your order a couple of times to ensure you get what you called for.

Addictive thin crust square pizzas with fresh ingredients. So far I've had the Rustica and the Invernale. The Rustica is my favorite and is topped with sausage, mushroom, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil. The Invernale is a white pizza w/ arugula, prosciutto, shaved parmesan, diced tomato, garlic, extra virgin olive oil - and is a bit like bruschetta. It's a bit pricey when you get it delivered. They charge a delivery fee AND a grubhub fee, even when calling in to place the order. Ends up turning into about $30 for a pizza including tip. You can save $10 by picking it up.

Best pizza in the area...fresh and full of flavor! Also tried the strawberry salad; it was delicious and the strawberries were very fresh. Service was also quick and efficient.

Excellent pizza. I don't really like eating there. Just ok. But, I frequently order pizza. I found it by accident and fell in love with their primavera. It is a MASTERPIECE. Even thought of this veggie pizza makes me happy:)
