Holy goodness so great. Friends came here when visiting from out of town. Service was PERFECT, ambiance is the perfect balance between formal and casual. Price is perfect. Complimentary soup and dessert. PERFECT. We all had an amazing time. Never yelped before and won't do it again but this place deserves a serous shout out.

These amazing workers are possibly the MOST genuine people I've ever encountered in the service industry. I found them via Grub Hub and made an order. It arrived right on time, but alas; my miso soup was missing. The delivery driver was extremely apologetic and came to my door with a smile on his face which made me SO happy. When I called him back when he left, explaining to him what happen; he felt bad. It's okay, accidents happens. I worked in the industry and I know how hectic it can be -- no one is flawless! The sushi itself was amazing and made me full! Today, I made another order, explaining the situation last time and surprisingly ten minutes ago; a very kind man called me, apologizing for the situation last time and said they'll replace my soup. WHO DOES THAT?! Toyotomi, you've earned a customer for life! It's so considerate of you to call and apologize! I've never had that happen before and regardless if you replaced my soup or not, the apology won me over. It's such a gem in the neighborhood and hopefully it'll stick around forever.

This kind of restaurant is the reason Yelp exists. It's very small and tucked into side street (and so we may not have found it if not for Yelp), but the sushi was some of the best I've ever had. Moreover, the service was as good as the food, the the waiter was both very prompt and pleasant. If you're in the area and this restaurant is nearby, take the time to stop in; everything was great.

Being that we're fairly new to south philly, we decided to look for some sushi in the area, and found a lot of options. we tried izumi and were disappointed by the prices in comparison to the roll sizes (especially since we are vegetarians and only get the veggie rolls). we ended up ordering toyotomi to supplement the izumi meal and decided to stick with them going forward! the food was amazing, the portion sizes were healthy, the delivery guy was fast and pleasant, and the prices were really affordable. always happy to give some good reviews and find a spot that prompts my loyalty

Delish and Reasonably priced. Great addition to our neighborhood. No need to travel to Center City

We have been here many times. We keep on saying we want to try everything on the menu.we are half way through. Everything is so good and amazed how reasonable it is .thank god it's right up the block from us.

Ok, this place is the shit! Amazing Sushi, friendly service, fair prices. I'll be back for sure! So happy this place opened instead of another pizza or cheese steak place.

We dined in regularly at their old location (11th and Moore) and cannot wait to visit Teddy and crew in their new home. Great sushi, great service, very reasonably priced. See you guys soon!!!

Great addition to the Ritner St. corridor. I usually order from Terryin, so it is good to know there is another quality Sushi place that delivers. It's nice to switch it up once in a while and have different options. The staff was very friendly and the inside looked very clean. It's also nice that they are open on Mondays unlike some other South Philly places.

Okay so a friend and I came here on an afternoon after class. There was no one there at all besides the employees. It was kind of awkward at first because they changed the music (didn't have a problem with what was on before) but my friend and I got comfortable quickly. The waitress was really nice and explained to my friend was miso soup was since he never had it. He got pork ramen and I got the cooked sushi box along with soup and chef salad. The miso soup was fresh, delicate and tasted very nice. The salad had a lot of dressing (in proper Philadelphia fashion, my friend asked me if I wanted some salad with my dressing) so ask for dressing on the side if you don't like salad doused in dressing. My friend: The ramen had a tasty broth and it came with 2 dumplings. It was pretty good, but they don't specialize in ramen, obviously. Me: The cooked sushi box was really yummy and fresh and was presented nicely in a large bento box. Even down to the plastic straws, these guys are thoughtful and creative with what was placed. Totally try it out, the price for what you pay for is really good and the employees are really nice!

This was definitely unfortunate. Unless I missed the memo that no one comes to get sushi in Philly on a Saturday night (highly unlikely) I am just in being super disappointed by this place. it can be summed up quite easily I assure you. We walked in it took us a little while to get greeted by our server and then after being left for 20 minutes to contemplate our order we waited an additional half hour for food to come out. keep in mind we were the only people in the restaurant WTF I don't get it. I went based on the reviews from other yelpers so idk what was up. The sushi itself want great so it was an additional bummer. Next time I'll go with my gut and when I walk into a restaurant that's empty on a Saturday night at 8 pm, I will definitely leave. Ay yay yai. I can only assume that all the 5 star peeps either knew something that I didn't or are friends of the owners. Hate to be that girl but I gotta stay true.

First time getting food from here since they moved to Girard Estates. We ordered lunch this afternoon via Grub Hub. I noticed delivery was a little under an hour this time. I got the cooked sushi lunchbox this time. Either of the varieties are always a good deal ,regardless of your tastes. The shrimp inari sushi that came with amazing ,as well, and is something I've never had before. Very interesting tastes and textures. Everything else we ordered (Japanese spring rolls, California roll, Philly roll, and terriyaki lunch box), were perfectly great as well. Came to about $42+tip which is great for all the food we got. They've got a loyal customer for as long as they're in South Philly. Since 2014.

Ordered from Grub Hub and glad we did. Sushi was fresh and delicious and delivered in the quoted time frame. They have a great deal of options for rolls. I tried the spicy crabmeat California roll and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely order from here again.

For our one year anniversary boo gave me 12 months of dates and March's just happened to be a dressy dinner of my choice. We planned it for this past Friday but Mother Nature being the fickle heffer she is had other plans and dumped 12 hours of snow that can only be described as slush puppyesque (TM). I decided to hop on the Yelp machine, start clicking around and see what easier options I could find. I have no idea how I came across Toyotomi but it sounded perfect and we hadn't had sushi in a minuto. We arrived promptly at 7:30, it's located in the heart of Italian bakery central. We found parking a block away, slapped on our Indian snowshoes and mushed the 50 yards to the dojo. It's a very unassuming corner spot and when we arrived there was no one there. Typically that's not a great sign but the weather was ass so I wasn't worried. Our waiter sat us and promptly opened up our wine pouring us 2 glasses of mer-daddies. The inside was nice, comfy seats, mood lighting, and a soundtrack that seemed to be pulled right from Alt Nation. We got right into the menu and started with 2 misos, seaweed salad, and steamed dumplings. They bring the food out as its ready which I like and first up was the seaweed salad. Bomb. The base was pretty traditional but then they added thin slices of cucumber and avocado on top. As we got into it more we were like something else is going on here. Yep, they'd spiked it with what we were told was Yum Yum sauce. If I fell into a vat of this stuff at the Yum Yum factory I would be able to eat myself to safety. The miso was good and they were out of shrimp dumplings so we had to go with chicken. The flavor was amazing and the wraps were nice and airy but they were on the cool side. Honestly though the flavor carried it so it's wasn't an issue. Next came the rolls. We went with 3 regular rolls and 2 specials. I got the Green Monster and boo went with the Black Spider for the specials. We then shared the spicy tuna, crab Cali, and spicy scallop. The tuna and scallop were fantastic, the Cali roll was a bit bland but that's no biggie. The Green Monster is cream cheese, spicy tuna, avocado, and fried jalapeño in rice paper. Incredible. Incredible. So many flavors. The Black Spider was soft shell crab, and some other things that boo can't recollect (too much mer-daddy). It was then topped with the Yum Yum sauce. She loved it. I wasn't offered a piece or I could comment. Finally for dessert we ordered the mochi which actually came with 2 complimentary green tea pieces. Perfect ending. Actually the perfect ending was when the bill came to $52 say wordddd?! Service was top notch, food was fresh and delicious, and the price was great. What more can you ask for?!

I never review because I rarely get wowed enough to want to. But here goes: We had : the miso soup, Japanese spring rolls, dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, roe and white tuna sashimi and for an entree we shared the salmon satay. Finally they gave us Mochi with ice cream on the house. I can recommend them all. Everything was so so fresh, and cooked to order. On top of it all they are really nice.

I've been by this place a few times and never thought to stop in. The sushi was excellent, and the chicken wontons were perfectly fried. Went at an odd hour and we were alone in the five-table dining room. Would definitely come back.

I don't shell out 1 star reviews regularly, in fact I do my best to try and find some kind of silver lining when I have had a poor experience....Toyotomi, has had multiple opportunities to prove me wrong in my thought that this is the worst sushi joint in town. Sadly, they haven't. The thing is, their sushi isn't terrible. In fact, their seaweed salad is my favorite in all the land...that yum yum sauce with the avocado and the seaweed? Delicious! Toyotomi is close to my office, my new neighborhood is not really known for having great sushi and so this became the place that I would order from before leaving work and would stop to pick-up en-route to my abode. Every order that I placed was done through the Eat24 app, it's easier to discreetly place an order when still working when it's done from your phone. Here is what happened each time I ordered: Visit 1: Didn't check my order because it was neatly tucked inside a stapled paper bag, inside of a plastic bag. I got home, opened the bag and the order was only half correct. The seaweed salad was there, but instead of the special roll that I had ordered it was replaced by something that looked viciously and overly greasily fried. It was unidentifiable and thus went uneaten. A call to Eat24 yielded a credit for the cost of the item, but being 6 miles away in the comfort of my apartment meant that I was not going to get a replacement roll. Sad dinner was made up of one lonely salad. Visit 2: Maybe I should have learned from the first order issue, but come on...I ordered through an app on my phone, it's not like they could say "we didn't understand your order, you didn't speak clearly". I get home to find that my seaweed salad has not made it into the bag. This time, I'm having a one roll dinner with no side of yum yum. Visit 3: THE WTF MOMENT....after the last fiasco of ordering, Eat24 told me that they had put a note on my account and would call Toyotomi to verify the order before pick up. I think they were getting tired of having to give me back my money for inaccurate orders. On my way to pick up my dinner I noticed something odd, there was no signage out front of the little corner restaurant. Ok, maybe they were getting ready to give their building a fresh coat of paint....no, no...I get to the restaurant and it's completely shuttered. Not like, "oh we're closed for vacation", the kind of shuttered that looks like they just up and left under the cover of darkness. For a hot second I thought maybe I had the wrong address and so I pulled up the trusty Yelp app and NOPE, right there in that little corner restaurant is a whole lot of nothing. So I call the number for the restaurant thinking maybe they had moved and the app hadn't updated their address, but the voicemail went to a generic reading of the phone number saying that they are unavailable...certainly not a good sign. Next I call up the kind folks of Eat24, tell them the situation and they ask if I would like to have my order canceled. Now, this one is on them...but of course I want my order canceled...no one is going to magically pop up and make my dinner for me because the restaurant poof disappeared! Seriously Toyotomi, I don't understand you, nor do I want to. Maybe you knew I was coming and so you decided to hit the road...I don't know. But two wrong orders and then you just up and leave? That's what I like to call "NO BUENO".
