I really miss living down the street from The Pizza Store. This place has one of the better traditional pies I've had in the Philadelphia area. In my opinion it's way better than the more famous Port Richmond pizzaria down the street. Prices are spot on too. Last night we ordered a jumbo pepperoni pie and a side of 8 garlic knots for $17. Enough for 4 grown men and a few knots left over. One other surprise about this place is that they make a great cheesesteak. Probably in my top 10 for the Philly area. Great meat to cheese ratio and pretty massive for the prices. This is definitely a take out or delivery place. The dining room is a bit run down and there are always a few shady characters hanging outside, but hey that's Port Richmond.

I forgot about this place! Used to go here years ago in the 80's and recently went here with my friends and had a slice of the Buffalo Chicken pizza, it is huge and worth every bit of $ Next night ordered a whole buffalo chicken pizza and a Alfredo chicken, I did not fancy the alfedo one but still Buffalo is a fave. Had some fries with it and they were very good cooked just right. Garlic knots are huge and the sauce is great here. A new customer they gained! The seating area( dine in) is a bit divey but the food makes up for the divey sitting area.

Pizza was OK, but I'm big on wings. Wings need to get better, when I can't enjoy wings even when I'm drunk, that says a lot about the quality. I gave it another go a second time with the same result. Tastes like they are fried in water with watered down hot sauce that cant even stick to the wings. I have not tried anything other than pizza and wings.

*edit as of 9/2012: they've changed a lot of stuff on the menu and it economy sucks now. Cheaper or just different products or whatever... It's totally lacking. Their wings have been delivered twice now with no sauce on the wings but a small cup on the side.... Gross. They're still the best for cheesesteaks, pizza, strombolis though. Also, we don't drink soda often but the past 2 times we got it they like dish water!* As far as pizza in Port Richmond, Fishtown and Kensington go, this is the place to order from. Their pizza is really great for the cheap price. If you're into it try their black olive and green pepper pizza and the white pizza. I usually get the white with less garlic because they REALLY load it up. Their stromboli is really their best item on the menu. It's not overly dough-y and they don't skimp on the fillings. Their salads are gigantic for the price and always fresh. As far as delivery goes... they're the quickest. Some people complain about it but you also have to look at the times YOU are ordering! My friend always complains but he orders on Saturday nights when everyone else is also ordering. Even when they do take a little longer than expected the food is still always hot! Sometimes the owner is a bit "blunt" but he's a great guy and at times very funny. He used to bring a smile to my face when he delivered to my work... even if he was in a bad mood HAHA!
